AN: I had a thought to do another story later on. But I'm gonna finish these four first! So I will be posting a poll later to get thoughts on if I should continue with the idea or not.
Chapter 23
Bella's POV
**Dream/Nightmare**
I was back at the barn in Ipswich. I could feel the rain hitting my skin as I layed on the ground and I could feel the heat from the fire inside. I stood up the best that I could. I felt a sharp pain in my side. looked down and saw I was in my fall festival dress. It was torn in some places and blood stained.
"Say the words! Say it!" I heard. I turned around and saw Chase kneeling over Caleb.
"No." I gasped. My feet moved towards them. Caleb kicked Chase off of him. Chase shot a powerball at him and Caleb pushed it away. Along with several other. Thunder hit and I stopped. I felt it. I felt someone dying.
"No. Dad. NO!" I screamed. I watched Caleb hit Chase a few more times. Chase struggled to get up but he hit me with a powerball. I was thrown over by the old buggy. I grunted as I tried to move. But I couldn't. I gasped when thunder and lightening hit again. My dad was dead. He willed Caleb his powers. Soon I felt something run up from my fingertips and all over.
"NO!" I yelled.
**END**
I shot up in bed gasping for air. I looked around and saw I was in Elijahs room. I looked down at him as he still slept. He looked peaceful. I got up out of bed and slid on one of his shirts from his closet. I walked downstairs to the den and poured me a glass of bourbon. I downed it quickly and sighed. I poured me another and went to sit in a chair. I rubbed my face then realized I was shaking. I huffed and rubbed my hands together.
"Just a dream. It's just a dream." I repeated. I closed my eyes but all I could see was Chase's smirking face. I got up, downed my drink, and walked around the den a few times.
"Isabella?" I heard. I turned around and saw Niklaus standing in the doorway.
"What're you doing up?" I asked him.
"It's seven in the morning." He said walking in. He picked up my glass and looked at me as he held it up.
"A little early is it not?" He asked.
"After the nightmare I had, it's never to early." I scoffed.
"Do you wish to talk about it?" He asked.
"No. I'll be fine. I'm gonna go start breakfast." I said walking away. I headed into the kitchen and grabbed everything I needed for pancakes, sausage, bacon, eggs, bagels, and fruit. I started the coffee and started cooking. Niklaus sat at the counter and watched me. I felt a tingling up my back, which meant Elijah was close.
"Isabella." He said coming in. I looked up and smiled at him.
"Morning, Elijah." I said flipping the pancakes. He came over and kissed my head.
"Morning. I thought you had left, you weren't there when I woke up again." He said walking around to the coffee pot.
"No. Just a nightmare." I said going to the fruit. I started cutting up the apples and strawberries.
"Do you wish to talk about it?" He asked.
"No. I'll be fine." I said. I placed the fruit in a bowl and went to the bacon. I flipped it and rolled the sausage.
"Can I help with breakfast any?" He asked.
No. Have a seat and talk with your brother who has been watching my every move." I said kissing his cheek. He nodded and went to sit beside Niklaus. They talked so low I couldn't hear them. I grabbed plates and utensils and handed them each a plate.
"Enjoy." I told them. They both looked at me. I knew that look all to well. It was the worried look.
"Don't look at me like that. Caleb use to give me that look a lot and it led to arguments and I'm not in the mood to argue. So please, enjoy breakfast." I told them. They got up and fixed them a plate. I grabbed me a cup of coffee and leaned against the counter.
"Morning everyone." Rebekah said walking in.
"Morning." We said. She grabbed a plate and started eating with her brothers. They seemed to be getting along more lately. I ate some fruit as they talked. My phone rung on the counter.
"Hello?" I asked answering it.
"Isabella, you come release your mother from this compulsion right now." Jeremiah told me. I huffed and sat down my cup of coffee. Jeremiah was the head of the Families.
"Do you know what she said to me? She wished I was dead, uncle." I said walking away.
Elijahs POV
I watched her as she walked away into another room. I was worried. Usually I think it had something to do with me but not this time.
"Look inside her head while she's sleeping." Niklaus told me.
"I've tried looking before. She's got some sort of shield inside her mind." I answered.
"What are you two talking about?" Rebekah asked.
"Isabella had a nightmare last night and she wishes to not talk about it." I said eating part of my pancake.
"Maybe she's not ready to talk. Give her time you two. Not everyone wants to talk about everything the next moment." She said. She finished eating and put her things in the dishwasher. Isabella came back in and started cleaning up.
"Everything alright, love?" Niklaus asked her.
"Jeremiah, Reid's dad, wants me to take the compulsion off on my mother. I on the other hand don't think she's ready." She said. I felt like she was hiding something.
"Isabella?" I asked. She sighed and turned to us.
"The guys and I have to go home for a few days. The elders need to talk to us about some things that are coming up." She said biting her lip.
"Like what?" Rebekah asked.
"Just regular routine things that go on with our powers. Nothing to worry about." She said shrugging.
"What can we do?" I asked.
"Keep everyone here safe, especially yourselves. I can't be coming back to any of you gone." She said smiling at us.
"When do you leave?" Niklaus asked.
"Around lunch. The guys and I will transport ourselves there." She said crossing her arms. We nodded. She finished cleaning up and went to get ready. I sat on the bed and watched her get dressed.
"Do you know when you'll return?" I asked her.
"No. But I will have my phone on me at all times so call or text whenever. And if you need me for an emergency, I will transport to you." She said coming over. I put my hands on her hips and pulled her close.
"Will you be safe?" I asked her.
"I always am." She said leaning down. She kissed me softly then pulled away.
"Will you do me a favor while I'm gone?" She asked me.
"I knew there was something else." I said smirking. She laughed and sat on my leg.
"Keep an eye on Jackson. I can't have my wolf harmed while I'm gone." She said biting her lip. I bit the inside of my cheek.
"Yes, I will. But you owe me when you return." I told her. She smiled and leaned down and kissed me deeply.
"I'll be willing to do anything for you, Elijah." She said pulling away. I nodded.
"I'll hold you to that." I said smirking. She laughed and got up. She said her goodbyes and left with her brothers. Days passed and I was visiting the Bayou to check up on Jackson and the others.
"Elijah? What brings you by?" Hayley asked walking up from the little shack.
"I've come to check up on Jackson. Isabella is worried and asked if I could stop in." I said looking around.
"Her? Worried about him? Really?" She scoffed. I sighed and adjusted my jacket.
"I'm not to fond of their bond either, but it's apart of Isabella that I can not change. Now if you'll excuse me." I said walking past her. Suddenly she grabs my arm and spins me around. Her lips pressed against mine in a passionate way. I pulled away and looked at her.
"Elijah, please. I love you." She started. I was speechless and confused now.
