Chapter 25

Continuation of Elijah's POV

We sat there in the dining room, all of us eating in complete quietness. I looked around at everyone. Caleb kept looking between Isabella and her mother, making sure everything was calm between the two. Pogue was keeping an arm on Kate's chair, Reid and Tyler just looked bored and irritated.

"So, when do you plan on returning to Ipswich Mrs. Danvers?" Rebekah asked her. Evelyn sat down her fork and wiped her mouth.

"Within the next two weeks. Ariel Abbott and I have some catching up to do. Aaron and Harold will be there as well, it seems the two of them have come to like New Orleans." She said sipping her water.

"Are you sure it's not the branch director Harold likes?" Isabella scoffed.

"Isabella." Evelyn said in a warning tone. Isabella rolled her eyes and downed her wine. The maid quickly refilled it.

"Anyway, Ariel and I will be planning a party, that will be held before I leave. I will gather the addresses of my children's friends here and invitations will be sent out. I do hope you all can attend." She said smiling.

"We most certainly shall." Nicklaus said nodding.

"Wonderful. Now I assume everyone here would have dates. Reid, Tyler, no going solo. You two alone with no dates just brings trouble at every event." She said picking up her fork.

"Not true." They argued.

"You compelled Aaron and Kira to scream at the top of their lungs and run around that they were being attacked by killer bees." She said.

"Actually, that was me and. Uh just me. Aaron was kissing Kira while being there with me." Isabella said looking at her plate. She was hiding something. Evelyn smirked.

"Ah yes. That was when." She started.

"Mother, that story is for later." Caleb told her. She hummed and looked at the others.

"Well, I'm sure, you boys can find a couple of girls to bring." She said nodding to Reid and Tyler. They rolled their eyes and went about eating. I wondered the rest of the evening what it was that they were hiding. Finally, Evelyn retired to her room for the rest of the evening. Nicklaus and I stood at the fireplace in the den.

"So, do tell, what is it that you all are hiding from us?" Niklaus said looking at everyone. They all remained silent.

"They deserve to know everything." Kate said.

"She agrees. But with the amount of power in this room, I'm sure her vote doesn't count." Rebekah said sighing.

"You would be right." She answered.

"We sure we can trust them?" Reid asked scoffing.

"We have done nothing to betray your trust." I said shoving my hand in my pocket. Isabella hummed as she sipped her drink. I looked down.

"Fine. Hate me later, all of you. We've met before. Niklaus and Elijah. In Mystic Falls." Kate said huffing. I looked up and at her. (AN: A DIFFERENT TIME TO FALL IN LOVE!)

"I'm sorry, I don't think I heard you right. But we've met before?" Niklaus asked them. Isabella just stood up and went to the bar. Caleb watched her and sighed.

"Yes. Yeah. We have. Okay? We had to block your memories of us because Chase had returned. We made sure you had the encrusted D on your hands incase things went south while we weren't around." He explained.

"Where was I?" Rebekah asked.

"I think it was around the time Klaus had your daggered. Because we never saw you and neither of them spoke about you unless we brought you up." Isabella said turning to us. I looked down at my wrist and saw the D. I looked at her again.

"Why were you in Mystic Falls?" I asked curiously. Reid and Tyler started laughing. She just smirked.

"She and the Salvatore brothers are close." Pogue answered.

"Define close." I said. She giggled.

"I prefer Stefan when he's the Ripper and Damon when he isn't fawning over the little Doppelgänger." She said eyeing me. I glared at her.

"We'll be glad to do the spell to give you back your memories from then. It's all over now, so I don't see the harm in returning them." Caleb offered.

"What else are you hiding?' I asked still looking at Isabella.

"I'm sure something will come to mind when the timing is right. As for now, nothing does. How about the three of you? Any secrets to share of, while we were telling the truth?" She said sitting down her glass. She walked over to Caleb's chair and sat on the armrest.

"None that we can think of." Rebekah said glancing up at us. She hummed and nodded. She held out her hand and made a fist. We gasped and fell to our knees in pain.

"I don't like being lied to. Now we know we can't trust you three anymore. Lying to our faces like this. Your invitations are being revoked. Immediately. Get out!" She snapped at us. We were thrown from the house and onto concrete driveway.

"Nice job Rebekah. You just ruined everything." Niklaus said as we stood up.

"She already knows, Nik! She would've thrown us out anyway!" She scoffed. Kate walked out with our jackets. She handed them to us.

"Here you go. And no, she wouldn't. She was testing you to see if you would tell her the truth or not. You failed, badly. We'll see you around hopefully." She said rushing back inside.

"Time to grovel to the Salem 5?" Niklaus asked sighing.

"It'll take more than groveling to repair what just happened, Niklaus." I said looking up at the house. I walked to the car and we headed home.
