I sat in the back seat of Callie's very fancy car, as Mom and Callie tried to figure out if they were correctly following the GPS.

We were 'apartment hunting' today. AKA looking at the final four apartments they thought would be best.

They both insisted I came with, and I really didn't have anything better to do. It was a Sunday. So, I tagged along. They really wanted me to be involved in the whole process.

It was nice. Considerate. They didn't want to do something I wouldn't like. But, I didn't really care where we lived. As long as it was somewhere. I'd like to say I'm a pretty simple person.

"Ok yeah this is totally it!" Mom said as we approached a big sign that read 'Green Meadows.' I assumed that it was the name of the complex.

They said they thought this would be their least favorite apartment. It was pretty far from my school- I wasn't sure I had ever been in this area of town, actually.

It was pretty.

Apparently Callie didn't like that there was no pool and no gym. Those seemed like important things to her.

But they said it was in a nice area, so they wanted to look at it, anyway.

"Perfect! Right on time, too!" Callie said once she parked.

We all got out, and I followed behind Mom and Callie. They were holding hands.

Cute and gross. I didn't say anything, though.

We met a woman at the front desk, and then she walked us over to the apartment we were touring.

It was a lot bigger than where Mom and I lived. It had a huge kitchen and dining room, as well as two bedrooms and two bathrooms.

But, I could tell that Mom and Callie didn't really love it.

Despite the larger rooms, the hallways were a little tight. And I think they just kind of had all the previous factors in mind. It just didn't fit what they were looking for.

The next one, though, felt the complete opposite. It was literally a five minute walk from my school- I figured it would be cool to walk to school. A lot of my friends walked to school.

When we walked in the door, I saw a kitchen island. I wondered if this was the apartment that was more expensive, but that Callie had loved.

I wasn't sure what it had looked like. But, I remembered her saying she loved the island.

"The kitchen is amazing." Callie said, walking over and standing at the island. She was smiling brightly. "I love this."

Mom smiled and laughed, "It's very nice." She agreed.

This apartment also had two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The master had its own bathroom. And, what would be my bedroom had a bathroom attached to it, with a second entrance in the hallway. I thought that was pretty cool, I had never seen something like that before.

The rooms were big. Really big. Like- I thought the last apartment had huge rooms, but this blew it out of the park.

Mom and Callie both seemed excited by all the space.

They had even started planning their bedroom-

"A king bed would fit so nice right here!" Callie said, walking around in a box to block out the spot.

"Yes! And the TV could be mounted right here!" Mom agreed, pointing to a wall. "This is like... perfect."

"I can just imagine it!" Callie walked back over to Mom, and they held hands again.

They had been all over each other today. I think it was excitement. I didn't really mind.

The apartment had a dining room, and a living room with a sliding glass door that led outside. Outside, there was a path that connected all apartments- they were in a big circle shape. A grass field was in the middle- and the path eventually led to the insanely nice outdoor pool and hot tub.

Which, to no surprise, got Callie insanely excited.

"Ah! Nice summer days at the pool. This would be amazing" Callie said, smiling bright.

Mom agreed, "Definitely would spend a lot of time here. Olivia, too! Liv loves swimming." She looked at me.

I smiled, "It is really nice." I nodded my agreement.

Callie had to take a peak at the gym- and she loved it.

It was like taking a little kid to a candy store. But, Callie and Mom with this apartment complex. They loved it.

We visited two more apartments.

One was decent. I don't think it would've been easy to live up to the standards number two set, so neither Mom or Callie seemed too excited by it.

Two bedrooms, one bathroom. It was about 15 minutes past my school. Not too bad. It was a little less space. Almost like a slightly larger version of the apartment Mom and I live in now.

It wasn't bad. It just wasn't as great as the second one.

The final apartment also failed to reach the standards of number two.

Two bedrooms and two bathrooms. Mom and Callie both seemed to think the bedrooms were abnormally small, though. Kind of like the first one, the hallways felt kind of tight.

I have to admit, I didn't love it. Mom and Callie didn't, either. I could tell.

It definitely wasn't as pretty and bright outside as the second one, and there was no pool. There was a gym, though.

I think there was an obvious winner for the day. Number 2.

Though no one had said it, I figured Callie and Mom felt the same. The second one was the one they both got most excited about.

Making future plans and everything.

I didn't know if we were looking at any more in upcoming days, but I had a feeling that might be the one.

It felt right. Mom and Callie clearly loved it.
