5. Chapter 4: Hello Duel Academy

Hello and a big thank you to everyone who has reviewed the previous chapter so far and I am glad to hear that it was worth the wait but I am going to make sure that it doesn't become a habit as I do not want to take too long in writing other chapters as well as my other fanfics. Anyway here is the anticipated chapter 4 for it contains the one thing you readers crave…a DUEL and I will also through in something else, a new character change. You will all flip when you read it and with that said…

Chapter 4: Hello Duel Academy

Duel Academy Cruise ship: (Trial) Student Sleeping Quarters (Stern) Room Eleven

The early rays of dawn crept over the rim of the cabin window, slowly lighting up the room as the stirring of movement came from the bed as Alexis opened her eyes. Her tiredness made everything blurry as tried to get the gist of her surroundings, even though she did not need to get a gist as she knew full well exactly where she was. Looking down at herself she sees that she was not covered by anything, not even a sheet or duvet but that she was bare and exposed yet somehow warm. Taking a deep breath, she felt relief as she felt no lingering urge's simmer or echo within her body. Her 'hopefully temporary' condition has been quelled and it better stay like that for a very long time. She felt a little stiffness in her neck and in response she moved to rub it but as she did, so she felt something else. Her hand felt smooth skin under her head.

"Well someone is finally awake."

Alexis looked to find Zara smiling at her, she also realised that instead of a pillow she in fact slept on Zara's stomach. Zara herself had the pillows but on top of one another so it looked like she was slouching comfortably on a chair with her left arm resting beneath her own head and her right close to Alexis. Zara looked at her as if she was admiring some art, or handiwork.

"How long have you been awake?" Alexis asked but remained where she lay.

"Good morning to you too" Zara taunted, if she trying to get a reaction from Alexis then she didn't succeed. "I have been awake for roughly twenty minutes, maybe ten or in-between."

Alexis glanced down once more and notices the sunlight shining through the window, due to the colour it was giving it must be early dawn.

"What time is it?"

Zara glanced to the clock on the bedside table and leaned a little forward to get a better look before settling back down.

"A few minutes past six."

After hearing this, Alexis finally got up into a sitting position and stretched her arms upwards before getting off the bed altogether. Her body now feeling like normal as she then bent down to pick up her discarded clothes up from the floor.

"Going so soon" Zara spoke with a fake hurt tone in her voice but Alexis didn't look back as she continued picking up the rest of her stuff and dumping them on the table.

"I need to get back to my room, get a shower and then get what I brought with me together for when we disembark" she replied as she began to put her underwear on. She then heard Zara herself get up from the bed and from the corner of her eye see's Zaria pass and approach the window. They dawn's rays seemed to reflect off her body as she too stretched. Alexis just averted her eyes as she continued getting dressed.

"So, let me ask you a question?"

Alexis paused for a sec and looked to Zara as she looked out the window.

"What is it?"

The academy high queen turned on her heel then strutted over to Alexis's side making the girl wary of Zara's possible intentions despite that she literally spent the night with her. Her wariness was not unnoticed by Zara, but she gave no reaction to it. She just stood beside Alexis for a few seconds before speaking again.

"Have you really not found a solution to your little problem or do you love coming to me for your sexual release?"

Alexis blinked and for a second she was stunned by the question before her face twisted in anger as she narrowed her eyes and glared at Zara as the person in question yawned, not fazed by the glare she was receiving.

"I am only doing this in-return for you aid in finding Atticus so no I am not doing this because I love it, it's the opposite I hate it" Alexis angrily informed Zara who remained un-fazed as she continued. "And yes, I am looking for solutions but so far they only help delay it instead of fully suppressing it so fuck you!"

She then headed for the door with the intention of getting out of the room as quick as possible and get back to her own but just as she grabbed the handle, Zara spoke.

"I think there is a big misunderstanding here."

Pausing she turned her head round and looked back at Zara who is now sitting on the edge of the bed.

"Misunderstanding?"

"Yes, misunderstanding. You think that in-return for me doing this with you, I help in any way I can in finding your dear brother Atti" Zara semi-mocked as she toned the shortened version of Alexis's brother's name like a child making Alexis even more angrier. "That is incorrect because the real situation is that in return for the aid in the search of said brother, you do not interfere with my methods or actions in duel academy. So, what I am doing for you, last night and the three times before that I am practically doing it for free."

Hearing Zara lay it out made Alexis's mind race as she realised how right she was, the first time of when this occurred happened after she agreed to Zara's terms in return for help in finding Atticus. So then as if she were in some way pointing it out, Zara expects something in return.

"So, what do you want in return?" she asked, anger no longer in her voice but small portion of it remained due to Zara's tone about her brother. "What do I owe you for…helping me out for…free?"

She waited for an answer and just watched as Zara seemed to think upon her question before replying.

"What I expect in return is…nothing."

Unsure if she heard correctly, Alexis moved away from the door and looked at Zara confused and disbelieving the answer.

"Nothing?" she muttered, waiting for some further clarification but she didn't receive any, so she pressed the question further. "What do you mean nothing?"

Zara sighed in annoyance and let herself drop back first onto the bed and folded her arms behind her head, it looked like she was going back to sleep except that she wasn't.

"Are you stupid of something? When I mean nothing, it means nothing."

There was a moment of silence between the two as no one said another word, Alexis stayed at the door staring at the naked girl who is just lying on the bed as if everything was normal.

"I don't believe you! I'm going!"

"Sure, whatever" Zara called after her as she shut the door. Alexis then leaned back on the door itself and began to think as she wondered if Zara was being serious or was, she just toying with her. In the end it didn't matter for now as she got what she needed last night and in a way during last night also so now she feels like her usual self and right now she could really use a shower, a proper shower and not a cold one.

Back in Room Eleven

Zara had just watched Alexis leave and once she was gone, Zara gave out a huge sigh as she sat up once more. With her gaze still on the door, she just gave a small smile.

"Like I am going to tell you what I am going to get out of it though there are two reasons in it. First is being in control and the second is something I will tell you when its time" she thought to herself as once again she got off the bed and headed to where her affects were, placed on a desk by a cupboard and picked up her PDA. She then scrolled down the screen until she got what she was wanted and tapped the screen. The PDA then emitted a dial tone and after a few moments, someone answered.

"Good morning ma'am" a tired yet female voice was heard through the speaker.

"Morning Nora. I trust I didn't wake you too soon?"

"No ma'am I was already up."

Zara smiled at that, then again, she knew that who she was talking too wasn't sloppy.

"Efficient as always. I trust I will be met at the docks when we arrive."

"Yes ma'am, but I won't be there. Mina and Veronica will be there to meet you as I finish prepping everything at the dorm."

"Very well, the ship will be arriving at the harbour at the usual time of ten past the hour, so I expect to see them there early."

"Understood ma'am, is there anything else?"

Zara paused for a moment and wondered if there is anything else she needed but at the back of her head there wasn't really anything she needed further yet there was something she had to ask, even though it will most likely be the same result as last time.

"I assume any further news of Rhodes is the same as the last?"

"It is ma'am, due to the surveillance on the forbidden dorm where Atticus Rhodes disappeared, we still have not found a way in to conduct our own investigation. My apologies ma'am but we're restricted to investigating the outside of the dorm once more, with no new findings to report."

"It's fine, continue as you were."

"Yes ma'am."

Zara then hanged up the call and put down the PDA, it was the same news as always but then again what would one expect when a student just ups and vanishes into thin air. Not bothering to think about it further, she grabbed a towel from a nearby drawer and headed towards her on-suite shower. It is going to be the start of a very productive year and it better provide some entertaining results otherwise she will make them instead.

Duel Academy Cruise ship: New Student Sleeping Quarters Port Side: Room One

Jaden was snoring peacefully as the early rays were coming through the window blinds, lighting up the room and a despite him being asleep his cheek was being repeatedly nudged by a certain winged fur ball. Apparently, Jaden had forgotten to set the alarm but also Kuriboh in reality didn't understand the concept of time as dawn to him was dawn and that means wake up. Jaden groaned in his sleep as Kuriboh,s nudging was slowly but assuredly waking him up and after ten to thirty more nudges, Jaden's eyes flickered open.

"Huh…wha…?" he moaned as he finally realised that he was being nudged in the face, at first he thought it was Yubel until he once again realised that the nudging had a furry feel to it. His tired eyes made his vision blurry, but he can see the shape of Kuriboh. Sitting up he rubbed his eyes and yawned, giving himself one big stretch, he became more awake and turned to face his newest duel spirit.

"Morning Kuri…what the fuck happened to you!" Jaden cried out as first he was about to greet the little winged fur ball but to his surprise and shock, making his jaw drop and eyes widen, as Kuriboh before him had bruises, a black eye and appeared to be wearing bandages. "Wait, did Yubel do this to you?"

Kuriboh chirped in confirmation and Jaden felt disturbed, she never thought that she could do something like this as what appeared before him was definitely some kind of abuse. But before he could react, Kuriboh chirped again and it confused him.

"She got it worse?" he repeated what Kuriboh just told him. "What does that mean?"

"He means this."

He looks up and sees Yubel floating behind Kuriboh and his jaw dropped again as just as Kuriboh, Yubel was also bandaged with a sling, bruised and sporting a black eye and what clearly looks like bite marks on her leg.

"Turns out the little shite is pretty vicious when backed to a corner" she explained with Kuriboh chirping triumphantly and Jaden more bamboozled.

"You two were really duking it out last night, weren't you?" he gawked as he checked them both thoroughly. "Are you two going to be alright?"

"Don't worry we heal pretty fast" both Yubel and Kuriboh informed him though in Kuriboh's case, chirped.

Jaden whistled in awe at this as he never thought that duel spirits could get injured, at least not in this sense. And all because Kuriboh interrupted Yubel's attempt to screw him, he instantly blushed as he remembered the details and how far they nearly went before the intervention of the fur ball. As he remembered the details in question, he also remembered something else and immediately looked to Yubel.

"Yubel" he called and got her attention as well as Kuriboh's who was curious as to what Jaden was going to say. "You and I need a serious talk concerning last night."

"About this little interfering git?" she asked hopefully causing the said interfering git to roll his eyes.

"No, about you" Jaden then confirmed and Yubel gave a gulp in response. "We need to talk about what happened last night and your antics."

In an instant Yubel gave the impression that she didn't know what Jaden was talking about and Jaden on return gave her the impression of yes you do. Kuriboh on the other hand was glancing a look to both of them, waiting for whoever speaks first to get. Turns out that was Yubel.

"Are you sure you don't mean…" she said slowly whilst gesturing to Kuriboh but Jaden wasn't having any of it.

"Yubel!"

"Alright fine, but before you lecture me as I believe that it was you are intending, you didn't say no" she pointed out in order to try and get some of the blame of herself. "Just like you didn't say no to the same situation that occured earlier yesterday."

"I know that, part of it is my fault but mostly for nothing much of a backbone against your advances" Jaden pointed out. "Any chance that when I try to say no, you'll let me before you jump me?"

Yubel shrugged and Jaden rolled his eyes, she was clearly listening but not really taking it seriously.

"Look I remember you telling me that you want to be my first, but could you at least wait until I give consent like…tell you when I am ready for it."

Yubel did not say a word but instead walked up to him and leaned forward, facing him square in the face. Kuriboh was about to make another interruption but with her free hand she shoved her hand into his furry face and prevented him from doing so.

"I would agree with that but there is one thing that will be a problem."

"And what's that?" Jaden asked as a few drops of sweat went down his face because of Yubel getting a little too close.

"Some pretty girls will take my place and I already called dibs on it!" Yubel revealed and as a result, both Jaden and Kuriboh gave beady expressions as Yubel seemed to be the only one taking that bit seriously. Kuriboh chirped slowly saying 'you called…dibs?' as Jaden tried to wrap his head around it.

"I don't think that is going to be a problem as my intention for getting into the academy is to duel, and not have sex with random girls left and rig…wait a minute, this isn't related to that crazy harem plan of yours is it?"

Yubel went full deadpanned as a result whilst emitting a 'duh' sound causing Jaden to groan.

"When will you get it, I am not doing no crazy harem" he pointed out as Yubel folded her arms. "What century do you think this is and wow that arm healed pretty fast."

Yubel looked down to see what Jaden meant and the sling she had has disappeared, along with some other bruises and the bite marks as well.

"Well we did say we heal rather quickly" she explained and pointed to Kuriboh who also is missing some bandages and bruises as well.

"I know but I didn't think it would be that quick."

Yubel smirked as she gave her body a stretch, simply because due to her healing she couldn't do much but also at the same time to show off her body to try and rekindle the mood as they have plenty of time until he needs to prepare and get off the boat. However, Jaden wasn't fooled and gave a cough to stop her from continuing any further to which she did and her expression dropped as well to a that being a little disappointed.

"Don't try it because I am telling you that I am not ready for it and if I was ready then I would know first-hand."

"You mean the bulge, right?" Yubel sniggered as she reminded him that though he may believe that he is not ready, his own body however has a second opinion.

"That don't count" Jaden declared but he had a small blush as he too did remember but also how it almost got him into a no return situation. "Also, on that note, keep your tongue to yourself!"

This caused Yubel to laugh as Jaden though trying to be serious but instead the blush got bigger and his face in tern became redder.

"You enjoyed it" she grinned, and it apparently made Jaden even more embarrassed and also slightly mad.

"That's not the point!"

Duel Academy Cruise ship: (Trial) Student Sleeping Quarters (Stern) Room Ten

Alexis sighed with satisfaction as she excited the shower after having a muscle relaxing hot one and grabbed the nearest towel. She felt more refreshed then ever but the reason for it was greatly ignored as she does not want to remember a single bit of it. Drying herself off, she entered the main room of her cabin and reached for the clean pile of clothes she had prepared before getting herself showered. Looking to the rooms clock she sees that it has already gone half-past the hour, so she has two hours at best until they all need to disembark. She had just grabbed the first piece of clothing which is her underwear when a knock sounded from the door.

"Hey Lex, you up?" Jasmines voice is heard through the door.

"Give me a sec, I am getting dressed."

Alexis quickly put her skirt and top on before heading for the door. When she opened it she finds Jasmine standing their grinning but also wearing the dorm uniform. After letting her in, Alexis got back to what she was doing.

"You're up and early?" Jasmine asked.

"Same thing to you" Alexis replied as she put her socks on. "Is Mindy awake or is she still in bed?"

"Most likely still in bed" Jasmine said as she sat down on the edge of the bed and then giggled. "Also, most likely she is having a fantasy with the duvet."

Pausing, Alexis looks to the brunette with a puzzled expression as she contemplated on what Jasmine said.

"Having a fantasy with the duvet?!"

"You'll see, in fact after your finished I'll show you."

Once more pausing, Alexis was again puzzled and raised an eyebrow in response.

"You do know that her door will be locked from the inside, right?" Alexis pointed out but she saw Jasmine grew a big grin and to her it was obvious. "She still has that forgetting to lock the door behind her trait, doesn't she?"

"Yep and from what I saw she really needs to start locking doors."

"Huh, why do you say that?" Alexis asked.

10 Minutes Later

Alexis's eye twitched as Jasmine closed the door after they entered Mindy's cabin and what Alexis saw made her think of how reckless, idiotic and daft her friend is as true to Jasmine's word, Mindy was having some fantasized dream and is clutching the duvet like a lover but what Jasmine failed to mention was…

"For the love of…is Mindy an idiot?!" Alexis grunted as she looked at the bed. "She doesn't lock the door and sleeps in the nude!"

Mindy is in fact sleeping full nude, clutching the duvet and doing something with her hips and moaning as she did so. It was shocking to Alexis as that with the door unlocked, anyone could have walked in and stumble on her in this position and the fact that Jasmine did earlier and once again with her in tow is just proof of it.

"mmm…ooh…right there Mr Handsome…" Mindy moaned in her sleep causing both girls to sweat drop. "I can feel it right there…I can…feel…"

"Oh god she isn't going to do what I think she is about to do,is she?" Alexis pointed out as she saw Mindy's body began to twitch and buckle as her breathing got quicker.

"I got it" Jasmine declared and walked around the bed until she was on the other side and behind Mindy's sleeping form. Alexis could only watch both of them as she wondered what Jasmine is going to do and could only gawk as Mindy was increasing her hip movements as the breaths. She then saw Jasmine raise her right hand and before Alexis could ask what she was going to do, Jasmine brought it down hard and slapped Mindy's ass square on the cheek. The girl in question bolted up right, screaming and still clutching the duvet. Still breathing heavily, she frantically looked around and sees both Alexis and Jasmine in her room, the former gawking and the latter laughing. Shocked and her hair in a mess, Mindy gasped as she realised that she was fully bare in front of them, they may be girls like her but that did not excuse them.

"What is the meaning of this you two?" Mindy shouted in anger, surprising the two as Mindy rarely gets angry as that is Jasmine's job. "How did you get in my room!?"

Jasmine could only laugh harder as Alexis just eyed Mindy with a 'are you serious' expression on her face.

"You left the door unlocked" Alexis explained, pointing to the door behind her. "Also, what the hell were you doing to that duvet and who is Mr Handsome?"

Mindy's face went red once Alexis had asked and she instantly shook her head like crazy.

"I have no idea what you are talking!"

As she was freaking out, Jasmine was taking out Mindy's new uniform from a bag. Apparently, the uniforms are delivered in the early hours and placed outside their door.

"Just shut up and put this on!"

Alexis giggled as she watched Jasmine throw the uniform to Mindy but the girl in question was still going on and denying anything she said in her sleep. It was quite the funny start to the day and she wondered what else is in store. Speaking of what's in store, she wondered how the boys are doing. Especially Jaden as she has seen full well his character yesterday and is crazy to challenge anyone to a duel. She even began to wonder if he duels for breakfast, the thought of it brought out a crazy image of Jaden literally eating duel cards like it was candy. Almost kind of made him demonic as the image itself made her giggle further.

"Hey what's so funny Lex?"

Alexis looked up to see Mindy glaring at her and gulped in response.

"Whoa I wasn't laughing at you; I was just thinking of something else" she tried to defend herself however Jasmine took extra notice.

"Oh, really and what exactly were you thinking about?" she asked and when Alexis didn't say anything as she just stroked her cheek and looked away. "Is it about a boy?"

"Err maybe, well more like three of them" Alexis finally admitted. "Just wondering what they are doing right now."

Duel Academy Cruise ship: New Student Sleeping Quarters Port Side

After having a really awkward talk with Yubel and finally getting her to agree to his conditions and more importantly that she doesn't pull any more moves on him as the first two to him went along the old saying 'fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me'. He received an email informing him that his uniform has been delivered and is waiting outside. Once he found the bag it was in, he put it on and checked himself in the mirror in the bathroom. Red and white blazer, black shirt and grey trousers with red shoes. He had to admit he looked rather nifty until he saw in the reflection that Yubel was checking him out and seemed to like what she was seeing.

"Yubel, remember what we said" Jaden bluntly informed her without turning around but in the reflection, Yubel just stuck her tongue out.

"I know but you didn't say anything about looking."

Giving only a low grumble, Jaden exited the bathroom and checked his bags to make sure that he has everything and also looks over his decks. He managed to put back together his personal deck, but he decided to look over it once more to see if it was all in order. For an extra measure he took Kuriboh's card out of the machine deck from yesterday and put it into his deck, much to Yubel's resentment of sharing the deck with a fur ball. Placing the deck into the deck holder on his belt, he put the other into a separate case and shoved it into the bag with some other bits and bobs as he finished packing up. A knock was heard, and Jaden did not need to guess who it was.

"Door's open" he called, and the door opens to reveal Syrus and Bastian. Looking up he sees the two enter and within a few seconds he tried to stifle a laugh as out of the two, Syrus looks more like the undead with bags under his eyes, energy-less eyes and is yawning constantly whereas Bastian is ready for action but is also supporting Syrus to keep him on his feet.

"Wow he really isn't an early bird, isn't he?" Jaden grinned as Bastian helped Syrus in and prop him against the wall.

"Yes quite, he slept through the alarm like it was nothing and when I had to shake him awake it only made him open an eye for a split second before going back to sleep" Bastian replied and continued to help Syrus to stay on his feet. "I had to shake him multiple times just to get him out of the bed."

"I can see that" Jaden laughed and noticed something else. "I also see that you have found your uniforms."

True to his word, both Bastian and Syrus are wearing their new uniforms. Syrus is wearing the same uniform as him albeit it was smaller, but Bastian was the biggest difference as his blazer was yellow and white with what to Jaden's surprise could be gold buttons. His shoes where the same colour as the blazer and also dark grey trousers.

"Are those buttons gold?" Jaden had to ask in which Bastian shook his head.

"No, they may look like they are made of gold but their just normal buttons though I don't blame you for thinking that as I had similar thoughts when I first saw them."

Syrus gave a very loud yawn but Bastian winced at this as the boy also had bad morning breath which Jaden also got a whiff of and pinched his nose as a result.

"My guess that's yesterday's pizza" Jaden commented.

"Possibly or he failed to brush his teeth last night" Bastian commented also.

The small boy once again yawned and rubbed his eyes as he showed signs of waking up. He stretched and rubbed his eyes once more before noticing both Jaden and Bastian in front of him.

"Morning you tw…" he began but stopped as he noticed that they were pinching their noses and appeared a little green. "What is up with you two?"

"Nothing! How are you?" they both replied in unison making Syrus sweat drop and brought his hand to his mouth and breathed on it. Taking a sniff, he almost choked and went a little green himself.

"Any of you got any mouth wash?"

Without a word, Bastian reached into his pocket and pulled out a pocket-sized mouth wash bottle and passed it to Syrus who thankfully accepted it and rushed to Jaden's cabin bathroom. Still pinching his nose, Jaden curiously looked to Bastian.

"Why do you have mouth wash in your pocket if I may ask?"

"Well Jaden, any good duellist must be good at his deck, but any good gentlemen must be good at keeping his hygiene in check" Bastian explained, revealing the reason why he had it in his pocket.

"I bet you also have soap too?" Jaden blundered out, not meaning it to be heard but Bastian heard it all the same.

"Pretty good guess and yes, yes I do" Bastian replied.

"Wow you don't say."

It was then Syrus re-joined them and took a deep breath before exhaling, this time the odour was gone but it was replaced with a very strong minty smell.

"Jeez Sy, how much did you use, half the bottle?" Jaden commented and Syrus just winked at him.

"Nope, just a little" he answered, showing them the bottle in question and they saw that only a little of the contents was used.

"How are you able to give the impression and smell for that matter of downing nearly a whole bottle while only using so little?" Bastian inquired, trying to figure out how exactly it was possible but Syrus shrugged in response.

"I dunno, it just happens" Syrus replied and gave an awkward laugh as the two just looked at him, both equally feeling awkward as the kid handed Bastian back the bottle. Kuriboh and Yubel, both of whom were still in the room and unseen were watching the whole thing as Yubel grinned.

"Seems that they are having fun" she commented and Kuriboh chirped in response. "What do you mean don't go barging in, I am not stupid!"

"Oh, by the way Jaden" Syrus then declared, getting Jaden's attention. Also Yubel's and Kuriboh's as they wondered what was up. "What where those sounds last night, it was coming through the wall and I didn't notice at first but then I heard…moaning?"

When Syrus mentioned moaning, both Jaden and the unseen Yubel immediately sweat-dropped like a waterfall and emitted faces of panic as Kuriboh rolled his eyes and chirped 'I knew this was going to happen', earning a swat on his furry cheek by Yubel as a result.

"Err…last night!" Jaden sweated as he had no idea how to answer as he pretty much hoped that the incidents where quiet but apparently not. "I was…on the toilet!"

Bastian and Syrus deadpanned as the reply were rather forced, even the two duel spirits somehow did an anime fall in the air when they heard it.

"You were on the toilet?" Bastian questioned; his deadpanned expression still visible.

"Err…yeah" Jaden quickly replied. "Big one, been holding it for a long time. Didn't want to make a scene."

Despite his best efforts, the lie didn't seem to convince them as Bastian leaned forward like an interrogator, making Jaden to lean back a bit while chuckling nervously.

"Is that so, then that means you do not have a proper balanced diet" Bastian declared, dumb folding Jaden in the process.

"Eh?"

Syrus and the two unseen duel spirits could only watch as Bastian got into Jaden on the importance of eating properly, something Jaden already knew but Bastian was laying it into him like a health and fitness instructor which made was quite funny to witness. Except for Jaden's case as he deadpanned himself as Bastian went on and on.

"I should have said I had a quickie instead" he mentally moaned as Bastian began to talk about eggs.

Academy Island: Main Harbour, 08:10

The vessel had finally arrived at its destination and the crew is overseeing its docking while on the harbour platform itself, two teachers were waiting patiently for the ships passengers to disembark. One of which was holding a fat brown cat. The cat meowed as he laid comfortably in his owner's arms and felt his head been patted gently.

"Well Pharaoh it seems that the last of our students have finally arrived" his owner announced, and the cat purred in response.

The teacher in-question wore no uniform to link him to a dorm but the other however did, wearing a yellow trench coat he heard what the other said and smiled.

"I have to agree Banner; I have heard that a good number of the last lot of new students are in your dorm. Hopefully, this time there won't be a mass flunk out like last year."

"Same to you Satyr, hopefully you will not again have too many students advancing to Obelisk Blue before the end of the first term."

Both teachers laughed before sighing sadly as despite being qualified teachers, their role as dorm heads are however at risk due to the increasing lack of students for their respected dorms due to the mentioned reasons. Still both are hopeful that this will be different as they see the ships crewman prepare the means of disembarking.

"Do you know how many got into Ra Yellow may I ask?"

"Well out of the fifty new applicants from the last exam. I believe roughly round seventeen have qualified to be in my dorm and there are two new Obelisks for Fonda's dorm. None for Crowler so that leaves…"

"Thirty-one for Slifer Red. With this new batch, that means my dorm's student number is under last years by three dozen. Still I am hoping things will turn out better this year."

Duel Academy Cruise ship: Disembark Lobby

Jaden chewed loudly as he scoffed down his energy bar because due to Bastian's lengthy and tiring lecture on proper eating and how it affects his insides. There wasn't enough time to head to see if the vessels food place was open so they had to search for a vending machine but surprising them again, Bastian also had energy bars in his pockets which made both Jaden and Syrus wonder how big are his pockets. As Jaden continued to chew, he looked around and sees the other students, all wearing their uniforms and a lot where wearing red.

"Looks like there is a lot of Slifer Red's from yesterday's entrance exam" Syrus commented as he began to count each one, making sure also not to count those he already counted.

"Yeah and I am actually quite surprised, I recognise some of them from the exam itself and they duelled pretty well" Bastian also commented, surprised to see the large number of red blazers. "Must be due to the written exams."

Jaden still eating said nothing but continued to look around, taking all that he saw in as he wondered who will address them before they leave the ship from either the disciplinary committee, the nurse or Crowler. Personally, he hoped that it wasn't the latter as he now has to go to the guy's office after they have attended the chancellor's introduction to the academy. After several minutes it seemed that luck was on his side as the nurse from yesterday appeared and as on cue, every male student had hearts in their eyes once again as she took her place in front of them. Incidentally, three familiar girls also appeared behind the trio with Alexis preparing to leave them.

"Wait so you are not getting off with us Lex?" Mindy asked as her friend shook her head.

"We former trial students have a different exit but don't worry, I will be seeing you two later at the dorm" Alexis explained then noticed the backs of three familiar heads. "On the plus side though I can see three people that we all know who can keep you company until then."

Both girls looked to see what Alexis was now pointing at and they saw the three boys.

"Oh, it's gorgeous 'B', cute little 'C' and…'D'" Mindy exclaimed and both Jasmine an Alexis deadpanned immediately.

"Mindy…would you please quit that already" Jasmine groaned as Alexis also joined in.

"Yeah and they have names so try to use them."

"Fine" Mindy pouted. "What were their names again?"

Her friends awkwardly smiled as Jasmine reminded her their exact names, doing it twice for Jaden's name so that she does not end up calling him 'D' again. With that done, Alexis then finally left them to the rest of the new students and headed towards her groups disembarking point. The two new Obelisks then joined with the rest of the group and if they had hearts in their eyes when they saw Fontaine then they had even bigger ones when they noticed them. Though Mindy enjoyed the attention they were getting, Jasmine ignored them and headed for the three boys. She even had to lead Mindy by grabbing her as the boy chart girl was so distracted by the attention she got. As they got closer, the boys in-question were in a deep discussion.

"So what do you think Crowler is going to do to us after the chancellor's introduction?" Syrus asked, though he was concerned he was still mesmerised by Nurse Fontaine's looks.

"No idea but I doubt it will be serious, I mean he cannot heavily punish us on the first day" Jaden replied but them thought it over. "At least I don't think so."

"What are you talking about?"

The three of them looked behind them to see both Jasmine and Mindy join them with the latter waving at her new fans as the hearts in their eyes got bigger. Bastian and Syrus could only grin at the sight of the other boys whereas Jaden just whistled.

"She certainly works fast in acquiring friends doesn't she" Jaden commented as he watched the scene with Jasmine sighing in response.

"In a way but it's more like admirers than friends, and many are going to be broken hearted as she only has space for the future Mr Handsome."

Unbeknownst to Jasmine, Mindy caught wind of what was said and paused.

"And this Mr Handsome is who exactly?" Jaden asked and in a split-second Mindy had turned on her heel and got right into Jaden's face.

"None of your business 'D'!"

Jaden stepped back double time as an angry Mindy is glaring hard at him, Jasmine practically face palmed herself in response.

"Mindy" she said slowly, getting the girl's attention. "What did Alexis and I say?"

Mindy crossed her arms and made a frustrated noise as she realised what she had just said and glanced to Jasmine who began to nudge her and tilted her head towards Jaden as he could only stand and watch. After a second, Mindy gave a defeated sigh and dropped her arms.

"Sorry for earlier" she said but received an additional nudge from Jasmine. "And for ranking you a 'D' thought c'mon you have to agree that you're not that…" she was about to finish when Jasmine immediately shut her up by covering her mouth.

Jaden could only sweat a little and gave an awkward little laugh as his friends behind him could only do the same thing but also felt a little guilty as they were ranked higher than Jaden. Yubel on the other hand who slowly appeared beside Jaden was fuming. Jaden noticed her appear and gulped when he saw the scowl on her transparent face. If there was one thing he knew, it was not to make Yubel angry, he can handle it but he doubts anyone else can do the same.

"So…. what's with the angry face?"

"You really had to ask" she replied and pointed towards Mindy. "She has no idea what she is talking about. I know exactly what she was going to say, and she can take her opinions and shove them up her…!"

"Okay I get it; I get it" Jaden interrupted her before she could continue. "Besides its not hurting anyone, it's just a stupid personal ranking thing she has, it's nothing to get riled about."

Yubel simply huffed and tilted her head away but she still cast a few menacing glances to Mindy who was now trying to get Jasmine to let go of her. Unsuccessfully as despite Jasmine's slender frame, she is quite strong and Mindy who is clearly the same build as she is pretty weak.

"Hey Jasmine, do you think you could let her go now coz I think she now knows what she said was stupid" Jaden stepped in and it seemed that Jasmine agreed as she instantly let go of Mindy who began to massage her cheeks and rub her mouth.

"Ouch" Mindy muttered, earning a grin from the perpetrator.

"Well that's your own fault."

Duel Academy Cruise ship: Disembark Lobby, Other End

Crowler entered the lobby feeling quite refreshed as all he did last night was dream of way to get rid of Jaden Yuki and Syrus Truesdale though the latter was more towards business as unless he didn't find a way to get rid of the little squirt, his career as a tutor of Dual Academy will be over before he could say anything. But with the small yet welcoming actions of the Disciplinary Committee yesterday, he can now formulate a strategy. Looking around he almost felt the urge to throw-up at the sight of all the red blazers, it was unwelcoming to him as he approached Nurse Fontaine from behind as she was pre-occupied with another member of staff, one of the assistant lecturers.

"Mrs Fontaine" he called out, getting her attention as a result. "I trust I was not late"

"No, you are punctual as always Doctor. Shall we begin?"

"Most certainly."

Jaden and the others

"May we have your attention please!"

Jaden looked to the nurse's direction but paled when he saw Crowler there also.

"Ah great, he's here."

"Alright students, in a few moments you will be going ashore to Academy Island where you will go for orientation and receive an introduction to the academy by the Chancellor himself. After which you will be then taken to your dorm's where this evening you will have your welcoming dinner to get you settled in before your first day tomorrow" Fontaine informed them and instantly when she said welcoming dinner, the whole student lot save for a certain five, jumped the gun and cried out the word and instantly began to talk amongst themselves.

"Welcome dinner…I hope there is steak!" one said.

"I cannot wait to chow down on a big meal!" said another.

"I'm going to eat until I drop!"

Fontaine sweat-dropped slightly and chuckled nervously as the students, mostly the Slifer Red newcomers where making the biggest fuss about it.

"Oh dear, perhaps I should have not said that. Well Lyman is an extraordinary cook so maybe they won't get too disappointed" she thought.

"I'm going to eat like royalty!" another spoke aloud causing the academies nurse to look to the side with a 'this isn't going to end well' look on her face.

"Who am I kidding, there are going to be hit hard!"

Crowler on the other hand was stifling a smirk behind his hand, the thought of the Slifers finding that their welcoming dinner is nothing more than fried rice, shrimp and whatever could be called for soda is highly amusing.

"Oh, those poor simpletons, they are going to be devastated. It's a shame that I won't be around to offer moral support because…I will be too busy to care while I enjoy my red wine with banquet style roast dinner!"

With Jaden and the others, they looked at the group and wondered what was so special about a dinner, to Jaden he thought it was most likely some kind of buffet or something.

"And here I thought the main excitement was going to be about the duelling, not the food" He said aloud as he watched the group slowly stop their gossip as the dinner crazed excitement died down.

"Does make you wonder what kind of food they do serve though" Syrus added in as they all returned their attention to the two teachers.

With the attention back on them, Fontaine continued.

"Well now that you are all settled and looking forward to today, we shall proceed with the disembark. Will all the red students please come forward and disembark followed by the yellow students and the blue students" Fontaine instructed.

Soon everyone began to form their groups with the red students heading to the front save which signalled to both Jaden and Syrus that this was their cue.

"Alright, this is where we part ways for now" Jaden said to Bastian and the two girls with the former nodding in response.

"Agreed but I am sure we will be seeing each other again soon enough" Bastian replied.

"Likewise," Jasmine also.

Giving them a grin and thumbs up, Jaden followed by Syrus joined the rest of the red students and prepared to disembark but they all were stopped when Fontaine began speaking once more.

"Now that everyone is ready, I would ask you all to wait a few moments until the students from the trial year to disembark first before everyone else. It won't take long so please wait patiently until they have left the ship."

Syrus looked around the group from behind and stared at the large door that they will be exiting the ship from and began to feel really nervous for two reasons. First is the fact that once he is off the ship he will be stepping foot onto Academy Island which will be his home for the year and hopefully the following two as well but the second reason is what made him shiver as amongst the trial students that will be disembarking first will be his sister and the thought that Zara will be on the docks when he gets off. Jaden noticed the nervous look on Syrus's face and miss-reading the situation partially, he placed a hand on the small boy's shoulder making him look up in and grinned.

"Don't worry Sy, duel academy is going to be a blast" Jaden encouraged. "You'll see!"

The encouragement seemed to have worked as Syrus cheered up but unbeknownst to them, Crowler spotted them and with a grin he signalled a member of the disciplinary committee to come other. When that member got to him, the doctor pointed towards the two boys.

"After the chancellor's introduction, I want those two brought to my office."

Academy Island: Main Harbour

Zara was amongst the first to disembark and simply stopped once she got off the ramp. She covered her eyes as she looked to the sky as the sun's warmth filled the air. It felt somewhat good to be back at the academy, despite it is nothing but a need to an end.

"Welcome back ma'am."

Zara tilted her head to her right and sees two girls standing almost beside her, both wearing obelisk blue uniforms and yet wearing an armband on their left arm. Dark blue with a duel monster image in white at the centre.

"Mina, Veronica" she addressed them and in response they gave a polite bow.

"I hope the voyage though brief was pleasant?"

"It was fair though it got more entertaining at the end which ended the day well but thank you for asking Veronica"

The other girl, Mina turned her head to face the ramp behind them where the latest new students will be exiting the ship.

"Anything interesting from the entrance exam or was it a bust and full of simple duellists that are not worth your time?"

Zara did not answer the question and kept quiet as she began to make her way towards the harbour's exit and towards the bridge which connected the harbour to the main island. The two girls quickly followed behind with Mina wondering if she had said the wrong thing.

"Did I say something out of turn ma'am?"

Zara continued walking but she did not leave the girl hanging.

"No not exactly, but it wasn't far from the truth as it was more of a nuisance than a bust" she explained as they began to make their way up the slope to the entrance of the bridge. "I'll explain it all to Nora and she can then inform the rest of you but for now, let's just get to the dorm."

Back at the harbour

Alexis was the last to get off as earlier she saw Zara and not wanting to get involved any further than she needs to, waited until she went off the ship first and leave the harbour area before getting off herself. As she got off the ramp, she instantly heard a commotion nearby and when she found the source, she couldn't help but grin.

"Pharaoh, hey watch where your jabbing those claws, ow" Professor Banner cried out as his cat began to wiggle like crazy as Professor Satyr chuckled in response. The large brown cat finally got out of Banners grip and once Pharaoh landed on all fours, pelted it rather quickly to where Alexis was standing. She found it difficult to laugh as the rather fat feline ran very fast for its size and then jumped high as well as he landed on Alexis chest.

"Whoa easy there Pharaoh, easy!" she giggled as the cat meowed and purred loudly as he began to lick her cheek. "Well someone definitely missed me."

And on cue, the cat's owner hurried over and rubbed the back of his head.

"My apologies Mrs Rhodes, sometimes I have no idea what goes on with Pharaoh!" he quickly apologises as the cat continued to purr.

"It's alright professor" Alexis replied as she began to stroke the cat on the head. "It seems that he was just excited to see me that's all."

Pharaoh only meowed in response and continued to nudge Alexis's face with his own.

"Yes, but still he showed be on his best behaviour."

The cat remained purring, even as Alexis gently handed him back to his owner.

"Again, I'm sorry about that" Banner grinned before looking down to the cat in his arms. "Now you better be on your best behaviour Pharaoh, we have new students to greet."

Alexis waved the cat goodbye as Banner returned to Satyr's side, just in time too as the first of the new students appeared at the top of the ramp. At first she wanted to wait for Mindy and Jasmine to disembark but that would mean waiting through the whole introduction and she didn't really need to go through it twice so she decided to leave and head for the dorm but first, she had somewhere important she needed to go.

Slifer Red student's disembarkation

"Man, the sun is really bright" Syrus complained as he made his way down the ramp, covering his eyes with his arm.

"Well we are on an island so bright sun and no doubt that there will be beach's so yeah…bright sun won't be in short supply here" Jaden remarked as he too covered his eyes though only for a short while as he adjusted but when he Syrus didn't do the same, it clicked. "I take it that you don't go out much do you?"

"Nope, there isn't much I can do, and I don't like beach's because I can't swim."

Jaden was quite surprised when he heard that as what person hates the beach, unless of course it the beaches that are nothing but rocks and pebbles but sandy beaches with pure blue ocean tides is loved by everyone. And yet it seems that Syrus just hates it on the count of not being able to swim.

"Every tried using water wings?" he casually asked and in response he received a glare. "I guess not."

Soon every single student assigned to Slifer Red was off the boat and all, including Jaden and Syrus noticed the two teachers standing before them. On wearing a yellow heavy coat making some wonder how he is able to stand the heat while wearing it while the other was carrying a rather fat cat.

"I bet our dorm head's the one with the cat" Jaden whispered.

"How can you tell?" Syrus whispered back. "Is it because of the cat itself?"

Jaden could not really help but give off an embarrassed expression and chuckled nervously.

"Or…stay with me here, it's because the other guy is wearing the same colours as Bastian."

Syrus sighed as he realised what Jaden meant and at his own stupid comment as Yubel rolled her eyes. She floated above the group looking back and forward between Jaden and the two teachers standing before the students that got off first. She noticed that the one with the cat stepped forward and listened in as he began to speak.

"Hello students I am Professor Banner and your head of dorm, I hope the cruise was enjoyable and that also every one of you is eager to begin your new life here at the academy" he introduced himself to the group when a very large meow caught everyone's attention. "Oh, and this is Pharaoh, Slifer Dorm's resident furry bundle of fun, rat catcher, Pizza lover and surprisingly a chick magnet for the girl students in Obelisk Blue, no joke!"

Some of the group laughed though some began to question the rat thing in a manner that they may have heard wrong, but it wasn't even a second when Banner addressed them again.

"Well if you all would follow me to the main academy building, from there you will receive an introduction to the academy by our school's chancellor."

The group then followed their new professor towards the bridge as the next batch of students began to disembark from the ship with Satyr waiting patiently for them to gather before him.

"Well, here starts a new year."

With Jaden

Jaden looked back at the ship as he sees the other new students disembarking as he got further and further away. It was getting more exciting as they began to cross the bridge, but it was when his group began to make noises, noises of excitement and awe which made the two wonder what they were looking at.

"Jaden, what's got everyone excited about?" Syrus asked as he looked for the source.

"No idea, let me see if I can…" Jaden replied as he moved to the side of the group to get a better view but gasped as he sees what he is sure is the source. "Syrus, you best take a look at this."

"Huh, why?" Syrus inquired and move to the side to join him and once he did, his eyes went wide and gasped himself but loudly as he mouth went wide.

Before them, in the distance was the academy but it was no building like they have ever seen. It had to be by far the largest building on the entire island as it covered a large portion of the mountain behind it. What's more is that the building itself was bizarre in a way and it looked like it was situated on a monolithic stone foundation with obelisk pillars marking the corners yet the main building is very high tech with a cylindrical main building with a large domed roof. Even from the distance, Jaden can see that there were three smaller domes in the front, each with a different colour and at different heights. From his current position it was the top left one is blue, the middle is yellow, and the bottom right is red, another clear statement to the dorm hierarchy structure. He even noticed a random obelisk that was leaning against one of the corner obelisks but otherwise it was still an impressive sight.

"Wow, this is amazing" Jaden put forward, waiting for Syrus to give his view.

"That is downright terrifying!"

Confused, Jaden looks to Syrus and is even more surprised to see that Syrus is genuinely scared.

"What's up Sy?"

"Don't you see what's behind it!"

"Yeah, it's a mountain."

Syrus looked to Jaden, with a narrowed eye expression but not the 'are you stupid' type of expression but the 'oh really' type.

"Since when do mountains smoke?"

Still confused, Jaden looks to the mountain in the distance and true enough, there was some smoke coming from it. He also noticed that it did not have the normal mountain stop but was instead got a rim that one can see on the top of a…

"Oh, that is not a mountain."

Obelisk Blue Girls Dorm

A group of female students waited by the front doors, each of them wearing the same armband as one stood in the middle of the hallway. Her dark violet shoulder length hair matched by her amethyst eyes as she eyed the main doors. Despite her slender appearance, one would think she is the daughter of a drill instructor as she stood smartly along with the others. A moment later and the doors opened to reveal Zara flanked by Mina and Veronica. In response the students bowed their heads slightly as one would greet a CEO in Japan. The girl in the middle was the first to straighten up and speak.

"Welcome back Ma'am."

Zara simply stepped forward and glanced left and right at her surroundings, she wasn't particularly interested in the treatment she was getting but she had gotten used to it as throughout the previous year she had gained a fearing reputation. And as a result, she gained quite the following to the point she created an influence that these students would do anything at her beck and call, and they were not the only ones.

"Nora" she addresses the girl. "You got here early to get everything ready haven't you."

"Well, I am also the dorm representative, so it comes with the territory" Nora explained earning a very rarely seen genuine smile from Zara.

"Dedicated as always."

Nora then stepped to the side allowing Zara to pass in which she then walked beside her.

"Anything interesting happen at the entrance exam? Any possible capable duellists or another bunch of fools that need to be shown their place both dorm wise, and in our case, worth wise?"

Zara scoffed a little as they began to climb the main staircase.

"Fools all of them and one I could really do without!"

"Is there something about this one individual that has you displeased?"

"Yes, he is my worthless younger brother."

This news surprised Nora included both Mina and Veronica who were still following behind as they climbed the next flight of stairs on their way to the third floor.

"I didn't know you had any sibling's ma'am?"

"It's something that I wanted to be the case, but it is not the case" Zara groaned with annoyance.

Just as they were halfway up the second set of the stairway, the buildings doors were thrown open causing Zara and her few followers to look over the railing and see what it was. It turns out that some of her followers had closed the main doors with no intention of opening it for a while and that doesn't seem to impress the newcomer who no doubt kicked open the doors, startling her group members who were still had themselves stationed nearby.

"Why the hell were you lot blocking the door! You and your fucking master are not the only ones living here!"

Though she never thought much about her, Zara did have to admit that it was amusing to see Jade fully angry as the girl to glared to each and every one of the followers who'd only glared back in return, though with some embarrassed fluster in their faces. Jade had just reached the stairs when Nora called out from above.

"Mrs Princeton, you really should behave in a more dignified manner when in the presence of your betters" Nora declared as she looked down on Jade, not amused by the latter's behaviour but Jade didn't care and not looking up, she just showed her middle finger in the general direction. This angered the followers as the gesture was also directed in the direction of Zara herself. Before they could call out or make any move at all, it was Zara who called out first.

"Jade!"

Everyone stopped and waited as Jade sighed and turned to look upwards to see if it was who she thought it was and sure enough it was.

"What do you want?"

The tone was the same as back on the ship, before she mentioned Jade's brothers of course and as normal it didn't bother her though it cannot be said for the others as they appeared to be agitated with Jade's attitude.

"Are you by any chance going to see Dr Crowler later?"

Jade's eyes narrowed and crossed her arms in response.

"You know that sixth sense is starting to bug me, just how did you know that?!"

Zara shrugged her shoulders and then proceed to continue up the stairs, Nora and the rest quickly followed.

"Please let him know that I will be contacting him about a few things later tonight, that's all."

"Why don't you do it yourself?!"

Zara never replied and disappeared out of sight up the third flight.

"Hey, I'm talking to you!" Jade called, walking to the bottom of the second flight. "Oi are you even listening!" she called out again but once more response. Grunting in annoyance, she got back to what she was doing and headed for the second floor where her room to drop off some things. "Self-entitled bitch."

Academy Main Hall

The size of the main hall was smaller slightly than the hall back on the mainland where the entrance exams took place Jaden thought as he took in his surroundings. Behind them were a flight of seats, like one would find in a lecture hall but then again it was the same back in the entrance hall. He looked back to see the Ra students start to come through the door. It seemed that each of the three dorms enter the room one at a time. He noticed as the Ra students began to form up to the Slifer groups left that there were not many yellow jackets students as he thought making the red group currently the largest. The doors opened again to reveal both Jasmine and Mindy but only them as of course they are the only Obelisks to pass the exam. In front of them all was a very large monitor that it could have been used for a private cinema simply because of the size of it. Then one of the tutors, a guy in a dark purple coat stepped in front and coughed to acquire their attention.

"Alright listen up, within a few moments the school chancellor will say a few words to you all and you give your undivided attention throughout the introduction."

And with that the monitor lit up and the grinning face of the chancellor appeared.

"Hello students, I am Chancellor Sheppard and welcome to duel academy where tomorrow you will begin the first step of your lives to become duellists. Wherever you choose to become a pro-duellist, card scholar or a card designer for Industrial Illusions just know this, strive for the top and do well for no matter what you choose to become, know this. Opportunity is always around the corner no matter what. Now before you go to see the dorms that will your home here on the island, there are certain rules that you must know in order to follow…"

Yubel watched in silence next to Jaden as the chancellor in the monitor began to list out some very important rules from late night duels in the academies duel arenas are out of bounds, not to explore a ruined building which is out of bounds and of course the penalties of bullying, cheating and fraud in any of the mid-term tests.

"Seems very much like a normal school, right Jaden?" Yubel asked as she turned to him but instantly her face dropped, and she gawked as Jaden while standing was fast asleep. "Seriously why are you…oh of course, you fall asleep during announcements or assemblies."

Knowing that trying to wake him at present would only attract attention from others just like it did on the coach, Yubel decided to wait until the chancellor was finished so she listened to the rules in Jaden's stead and tell him what he missed afterwards.

"He better not fall asleep when I explain all this to him later."

Duel Academy, Dr Crowler's Office

Crowler sat at his desk humming a tune which he could say is his own theme tune if anyone cared to ask as he waited for the moment when the Slifer and his friend are brought to him so that he can put so many rules on them that it will be impossible to not get expelled. And with a member of the disciplinary committee present, they will be able to ensure that they will get expelled. A knock sounded on the door catching unawares as he glanced to the small clock on his desk.

"Wow that was quick" he muttered to himself before swinging himself around and looked out of the window. "Enter!"

The door opened and closed behind him and before a word could be said, Crowler began speaking.

"Well, it is about time you two are here, must be quite the achievement isn't it. Not even the first actual day of the academic year and your already been sent to the teacher's office. Just because you got lucky in the exam, you must think that your untouchable but that is where your wrong slifer slacker. You and your little friend are going to find out the hard way. Anything to say for yourself?" Crowler mocked as he waited for a reply in which he will put down sharply and issue the stern and assured to expel rules upon them.

"Just one Doctor Crowler, what are you going on about?" a female voice replied causing his face to drop.

Turning sharply, he finds that it was not the two Slifer students he was expecting but Jade Princeton who just stood there which a raised eyebrow as she looked at him with the expression that he lost it. Panicking at first embarrassment, he sat up sharply and coughed a 'ahem' and tried to look like he was caught in an awkward moment which was pointless at this point.

"Ah Mrs Princeton, why are…you here…if I may ask?"

"I was here to ask about what to expect for our first academic year as the trial year obviously has given us trial year students an advantage over the new applicants but now, I am wondering what has gotten you all high and mighty about" Jade answered as Crowler began to feel slight embarrassment as sweat drops ran down the back of his head, and face…well practically everywhere.

"Oh, that was nothing I assure you" Crowler began to fib. "Just some warmup preparation for when a student is sent to the office that's all."

"It's about Jaden Yuki isn't it?" Jade pointed out and in a split second, Crowler felt that he was pierced by a huge spear decorated with the words of called it.

"How did she know!?" he freaked out in his head. As if she was psychic, Jade knew exactly what was going on in the teacher's head and sighed.

"It was pretty obvious as the words lucky, exam and slifer slacker was all in the same statement that you just gave as I walked in through the door. It was clear that you were expecting Yuki and from what you said about little friend, you are also expecting that small kid. Truesdale's little brother am I correct?"

Again, another spear followed by another pierced Crowler one by one, each with the words 'called it' decorating them as Jade broke it down. To him, it was quite embarrassing to be figured out by a student, even more so if the student were a slifer red which in that case would make him furious.

"Er, yes I was expecting…him due to his cheek on the boat yesterday" Crowler admitted grudgingly.

Jade began to suspect what he may be talking about but did not ask further but decided to inquire on something else.

"So not about him getting lucky in the entrance exam then?"

"No…" Crowler moaned before his eyes widened and in an instant his mood changed. "Wait…you know he only got lucky as well?" he asked, feeling that he can get a sympathetic ally which would cheer him up, it made him grin.

"In a way, it was confirmed when he admitted it to me after the duel. He wasn't even using his own deck, just another that was given to him in the past by a friend."

Crowler didn't say a word as he maintained his grin and froze still. Jade felt a little creeped out as the sound of the clock became the only sound in the room. For a moment she thought that Crowler somehow kicked the bucket until he finally started speaking.

"He…admitted…that…he…got…lucky…and…he…also…didn't…use…his…own…deck…when…he…humiliated…me?!" Crowler asked through gritted teeth and Jade couldn't help finding some kind of amusement that a grown man is frustrated because he got beaten in a duel.

"Yes, he did" she replied, wondering what Crowler would do next.

Crowler returned to his silent state with grin and all until literally slammed down on his desk, sat up and wide-eyed he screamed at the top of his voice.

"Whaaaaat!"

Academy Main Hall

"And remember students that all you need to progress through the months and years of learning is the determination of a duellist and you will go far for tomorrow is the first step of your exciting journey. Good luck to you all."

Jaden woke as he felt something rock his shoulder and sees Yubel giving him a stern look.

"Whats up?" he tiredly mumbled which was rewarded with her replacing her stern look with a comically angry look.

"What's up? What's up? You fell asleep during the Chancellor's video assembly, missing out every single word he said is what is up" Yubel informed him. "Also don't talk to me like normal otherwise someone might hear!"

"Sorry so what did I miss?"

"Didn't you hear what I just said!?" Yubel asked as small clouds of smoke appear and disappear above her head if either of them noticed.

"Attention all students!"

Jaden turned to see who is now speaking and recognised the head nurse as she waved to get all of their attention.

"Now students before you are shown to your respected dorms, please follow me as I will show you the main areas of the academy building from classrooms to duel arena's."

"Duel arena's? No that sounds like fun, now where's…" he thought and as he was about to look for Syrus. A rather heavy hand had grabbed the top of his head and for a moment, Jaden thought he was going to be crushed. He noticed to his left that Syrus was also in the same predicament and appeared quite scared as he had no clue to what is going on. To Jaden it looked like whoever was grabbing their heads got to Syrus first then Jaden. It was however noticed by Nurse Fontaine as once she saw what was happening, she quickly called out.

"Excuse me but what are you doing?" she demanded to the person who was holding both Jaden and Syrus by the head.

"Apologies ma'am but I was instructed to bring these two to Dr Crowler's office once the chancellors introduction was done" a gruff and deep voice replied but it also sounded with discipline and Jaden quickly figured that it was a member of the disciplinary committee that has hold of him.

"Seriously that man" was heard clearly from Fontaine as she pinched the bridge of her nose. "Very well but surely you do not need to take them in that state. There is no need to grab them by the head."

"Understood ma'am" and with that said, the grip on both Jaden's and Syrus's head vanished as the committee member let go of them. "Now you two will follow me to Dr Crowler's office at once and no dawdling."

"Er…but what about the tour" Syrus asked quite timidly. "We are going to miss the locations of the classrooms and other important areas."

"That's not my problem now let's go!"

With not much choice, they both followed their new somewhat guide to meet a teacher that Jaden personally didn't want to meet just yet.

"Well, this stinks!" Jaden thought to himself as they left the main hall and into a lobby.

"Psst" he heard above and looking up he sees Yubel flying above him. "Hey Jaden, I'll go with the tour group and fill you in what you missed once you get back from that creep you beat" Yubel informed him with a thumbs up which brought a smile to his face.

"Thanks Yubel, I appreciate it. I'll see you later."

And with that Yubel disappeared leaving him with Syrus as they continued to follow the committee member up towards the offices.

Back at Crowler's Office

To say that Crowler was seething with rage is an understatement, to think that he was beaten, his own deck with his legendary rare card. The Ancient Gear Golem and it was all beaten by a lucky break with a deck that was not even the boys' own deck. His gritted teeth grinded against each other as Jade just watched, to see Crowler this angry is a first as the school has seen him angry but not this way before.

"That brat, he dared to humiliate me with a deck that's not his own. He dares to insult moi like this!" Crowler thought as he got madder and madder. "When I get my hands on him, I will make him…" he also thought when a loud knock on the door attracted both his and Jade's attention. His mood quickly disappeared as he faced the door. "Pay?"

"Who is it?" Crowler demanded and the door opened to reveal Jaden and Syrus being slightly pushed in by the committee member who followed behind.

"Dr Crowler I brought the students you requested!" the committee member declared and closed the door behind him.

"Ah good finally. Mr Yuki, Mr Truesdale, come closer please" Crowler ordered, feeling rather satisfied for the moment as he put some of his plan into action since the entrance is rather not needed anymore.

As Jaden and Syrus stepped forward they both noticed Jade also in the room. Jade in turn was thinking that she should have left earlier as she did not want a repeat of yesterday.

"Hey Jade, you in trouble with the teach too?" Jaden asked out of nowhere causing Jade to roll her eyes, but she instead got startled as Crowler again slammed his hands onto the desk.

"I beg your pardon?! Its doctor, not teach! and since when are you on a first name basis with Mrs Princeton and no, she is not in trouble, but you certainly are!"

Syrus had practically jumped behind the committee member who was surprised at how fast the boy was while Jaden remained calm and looked at Crowler as if he was overreacting, which he certainly was.

"Er, should I come back later when you've calmed down or…" Jaden was about to start but he could not finish as Crowler burst out again.

"No, you are staying right there, young mister!" the clown looking Phd lecturer bellowed but instantly coughing into his hand and sitting back down on his chair. "Now then let us get to the point. You know why you're here?"

Jaden just blinked several times and wondered if he should make a joke by saying why, did you forget or to remind you why I'm here but that would most likely get him in trouble even if it was worth it but it's not even his first day so in the end it wasn't.

"Because of the incident on the ship" Jaden replied.

"Exactly and what have we learned?" Crowler continued.

Jade listening in sighed at the word incident as she thought that they were talking about the interaction between Jaden and the two knuckleheads, Bratt and Troy. They must have complained about it to Crowler and tried to make it look like Jaden started it. Even though it was Bratt who launched the first punch only to be countered and tackled. Before Jaden could even say another word, she immediately interrupted.

"Tackling Obelisk Blues despite they started it will get you sent to Obelisk heads office" she casually stated and within a second both Jaden and Crowler looked at her in confusion which in turn confused her. Also, upon hearing this the committee member who had just a few seconds earlier directed Syrus from hiding behind him by gripping the ear took interest and listened in.

"I beg your pardon but what did you just say Mrs Princeton?" Crowler asked.

"The incident you are talking about obviously" Jade replied but only received more confusion from the two.

"What are you talking about?" Jaden asked and now it was her turn to be confused.

"What are you talking about?"

"We are talking about his childish conduct of making fun of a teacher on the cruise yesterday" Crowler answered and in response Jaden slyly pointed his finger to Crowler himself to indicate which teacher it was to Jade but the doctor noticed it anyway. "And who are you pointing at?"

"Nothing" Jaden lied and stood straight as he felt the glare from the committee member dig into the back of his head.

"Wait a moment, Mrs Princeton are you saying that this slacker has picked a fight with two of my Obelisks?" Crowler quickly interrogated as he leaned towards Jade's direction, thinking that he may already have an opportunity to get Jaden closer to being kicked out.

"But they started it!" Jaden protested.

"Shut your mouth boy!" the committee member snapped sharply.

Crowler could only help but grin maniacally as finally Jaden was now in the committee's crosshairs, and he did not have to do a thing.

"It seems that I don't need to put some rules or anything else on this slacker. He might have just done my job for me though that does just leave the little squirt back there to deal with otherwise Mrs Truesdale will no doubt bury me alive" he thought and looked back to Jade.

"So, tell me more about this new incident Mrs Princeton. What has Mr Yuki done?"

"Actually, its Troy and Bratt, they started it after I told them to not do anything stupid."

Not exactly what Crowler wanted to hear as he was expecting more of the Slifer slacker picked a fight with two Obelisks because he was uncivilised and that sort of thing.

"They also told Alexis to fuck off" Jaden interjected and once more the committee member told him to shut it and watch his language.

Crowler however had no choice but let that statement ring in his ears as he wasn't sure he heard right and part of him was hopeful he wasn't.

"Alexis? He better not mean who I think it is?" he wondered. "Mr Yuki, this Alexis. Do you mean Mrs Rhodes by any chance?"

"Er Alexis Rhodes, yeah her" Jaden answered and Crowler's face dropped as his mind raced uncomfortably.

"This slacker knows not just the third best female student in the academy but also the second!" he cried frustratingly within his mind. "Does this mean he possibly knows…no, no out of the question. I doubt he is on speaking terms with Mrs Truesdale. No way she would take any sort of interest in this runt, especially since he is friends with her pipsqueak of a brother. The same brother she is blackmailing me to expel for crying out loud! Calm down Vellian old boy, calm down. Let us just focus on what is happening now."

It was then that the committee member stepped forward to Jaden's side, still clutching Syrus's ear which alarmed Jaden considerably as he both wondered how serious the Discipline Committee were at their jobs and if what the guy was doing could be considered abusive and can be complained about.

"Excuse me Doctor Crowler, this incident was not reported as it should due to fights between students is not condoned within academy grounds. I will now take my leave and make inquiries to this incident."

After saying that he let go of Syrus's ear which the kid was grateful for, but it must have hurt as he started to rub it.

"So, the ship is part of the academy grounds?" the small boy asked.

"Correct."

Sighing a groan of defeat as it didn't go the way he hoped, Crowler had no choice but to agree as he doesn't exactly have any control over the members of the discipline committee as that was the chairman's role.

"Who were these two again Mrs Princeton?" Crowler asked grudgingly.

"Troy Belmont and Bratt Conner."

"And they started it?"

"Yes, Doctor Crowler."

Upon hearing the names, Crowler couldn't help but a little relieved as even though they were Obelisks, and he is their head. The two were of minor importance despite their duelling abilities and therefore in his mind, would not be much to jeopardise the dorms integrity.

"I suppose this is a more serious issue then fun of a teacher's appearance" he mumbled. "Go see to it then and once the discipline committee has seen to them, bring them to me as it falls on me as their dorm head to decide punishment."

The committee member simply nodded, turned on his heel and left the room leaving both Jaden and Syrus with both Crowler and Jade.

"Um Doctor Crowler" Jaden called out gaining said person's attention. "Who exactly are these guys because they don't really act like normal academy security. They act more like private sector."

"Well of course they function more along the lines of the private sector. Each member of the Disciplinary Committee received training alongside the private security of the Kaiba Corporation" Crowler explained. "Mr Kaiba ensures the protection of all his assets to the fullest."

"Man! That's high security" Jaden stated and rubbed his head.

"You have no idea, and I am going to make sure that when you find out if it's the last thing I do slacker" Crowler thought as he began to think a new plan as tying Jaden down with strict rules that would make his stay at the academy difficult failed. And fortunately for Crowler there are plenty of ways to do so but the question is will they pull through and solve his problem.

"Dr Crowler" Jade then called out. "I was asked to tell you that you will be receiving a call later tonight."

"Huh? From whom?"

"Zaria Truesdale."

Upon hearing the name, Crowler froze and sweat drops ran down the back of his head as he gulped, wondering what exactly she would be wanting. His actions did not go unnoticed as both Jaden and Syrus noticed, especially the latter who shivered a little upon hearing his sisters' name.

"I'll take my leave then" Jade declared and headed to the door.

"Wait one moment" Crowler suddenly blurted out, stopping her in her tracks. "After I dealt with these two, I want you to take them to their dorm."

"Excuse me?"

"Well, I'm not taking them!" Crowler yelled.

The two boys were unsure what to do as they were now between Jade and Crowler and felt that they were in the middle of a would-be argument.

"Doctor Crowler, sir" Syrus quietly called out.

"Yes, what is it?!"

"If there is nothing else then may we…" he was about to finish but Crowler slammed his fists on to his desk hard.

"No, you may not! You two are going to stay until I say you can go!"

Both Jaden and Syrus grimaced as Crowler began to give a long lecture about proper conduct towards teachers while Jade simply leaned on the door and crossed her arms, looking bored as she listened in and most of what the doctor was talking about was repeated with different words. It was clear as day that this was not a lecture, it was Crowler letting off steam through a dose of blah, blah, blah.

"This is going to take a while."

Four hours later (French accent style, lol)

"…furthermore, when addressing your teacher, you must always have self-discipline and…" Crowler droned on and on as the two boys struggled to keep up or more accurately their legs tried to keep up as they have stood still for hours, and they were getting pretty tired. Except for Jade as she had the luxury of leaning against something as she just listened in. "…therefore as students of this academy, which you got in by dumb luck, you must always be in good conduct for you are representing the academy."

"Doctor Crowler, they are falling asleep, and you have been repeating the same thing for nearly four hours!" Jade moaned loudly, making Crowler pause before he could go off again.

"Huh?" Crowler spoke before noticing the trouble that the two boys were in as they struggled to stay standing. "Alright you two, stop dawdling and start moving! I don't want two slifers collapsing in my office."

With that order, both gasped and began rubbing and stretching their legs. The relief they felt as they did so was like the feeling a drinking a refreshing cold drink after a hard day of work if you could call standing and listening to a repeated broken record for three hours straight hard work.

"Oh legs, it's so good to feel you relax" Jaden sighed in happiness.

"I will never complain about long walks again in all my life" Syrus bursted.

"Seriously I think you two are overreacting" Jade pondered as she watched the sight before her.

"Now then" Crowler suddenly boomed making the boys stop in their tracks. "What have we learned today?"

The two boys simply blinked before looking at each other for a moment and then looking back at Crowler.

"Er…never joke about a teacher otherwise you will be forced to listen to the same thing for three hours and get leg cramp like you would never believe?" Jaden casually replied.

"I beg your pardon?" Crowler gawked as Jade smirked a little. It looked like Crowler might blow a fuse again like he did on the boat thanks to Jaden's comment, but he just groaned and waved his hand. "Oh, just leave and I better not see you here again, Mrs Princeton please take them to their dorm."

Jaden grinned as he was more than happy to leave while Syrus was still tending to his legs as they began to head towards the door where Jade was waiting for them, though reluctantly as she did not like the idea of being a tour guide.

"Ah hold on a second!" Crolwer called out suddenly and both Jaden's and Syrus's faces dropped as they instantly thought they were going to hear another lecture. "Mr Yuki, it has come to my attention that during our duel yesterday for your exam, you were using another person's deck. Can you explain this?"

Jaden was taken back for a moment as he wondered how Crowler knew about that as he did not tell him nor any teacher for that matter. He only told a very few people, and, on that note, he figured out who could have done it as she was also in the same room as them. Glancing to Jade to gain any conformation of his suspicions which was answered by a casual shrug from her as she just waited for them to finish.

"Well?" Crowler asked again.

"Technically this is a half-truth as yes, I used someone else deck, but it was also a gift from a friend who could no longer duel. So, he gave it to me and thanks to a slight slip up I ended up using it for the entrance exam yesterday" Jaden explained and Crowler raised an eyebrow in response.

"A slip up?"

"Yeah, I was holding both decks as I was wondering which one to use but then I dropped the one that I was deciding to pick and not wanting to waste time I just used the other one."

Crowler listened carefully and contemplated on what he heard, Jaden has two decks therefore if he was to try and get him expelled in some way duel related it would be difficult as with two decks it would be a little difficult to plan around. Though that does resolve around what his actual deck it.

"And pray tell what your actual preference is, what is the theme of the deck you prefer to use?"

"That would be my elemental heroes" Jaden replied happily as he beamed at the thought of his deck.

"Elemental heroes huh" Crowler thought as he tried to remember what they are and as a PhD holder of duelling, it didn't take him more than a second. "Ah yes the elemental heroes, they are the monsters that are best used in fusions. Yes, I have heard of them."

"Their pretty sweet!" Jaden declared but Crowler shrugged him off.

"Yeah sweet, whatever" Crowler commented earning a look from Jaden that practically said oh I don't like you. "Well, that will be all, you may take them now Mrs Princeton."

Jade said nothing as she opened the door to let herself out and was quickly followed by Jaden and Syrus as all three left Crowlers office, leaving the man to ponder more on the matter of getting Jaden expelled.

"It doesn't matter if he has two or three decks, I will get him expelled but it would be best not to overthink it. I'm sure that there will be plenty of opportunities to do so, as long as I can do before Christmas."

Academy Corridor

"Whatever? Whatever!?" Jaden grumbled as he followed Jade, felling rather pissed at Crowler for the man's complete disregard for a student's deck. "What does that mean?"

"I don't follow" Syrus replied to Jaden though the question was in fact rhetorical.

"He is supposed to be a duel teacher so shouldn't he be more enthusiastic about the decks of his students" Jaden explained fully.

Syrus still didn't really understand where Jaden was getting at as most of the teachers, he met were pretty much the same, apart from the high-pitched voice, and the frilly clothes, and the apparent use of lipstick. Then again maybe Jaden had a point as Syrus thought about it more.

"Maybe he was busy with something else and had no time to take further interest in your deck."

"Or maybe it's to do with the dorms" Jaden declared loudly as the three of them turned a corner towards a stairway. "I bet if I was an Obelisk, he would take interest but since I am in the red dorm, he doesn't care at all. Ah maybe I'm over thinking it" he mumbled as he began to focus on calming down, failing to notice that Jade made a quick glance towards them.

"No, you're not over thinking it and you figured it out rather quickly" Jade thought to herself before facing forwards again as they reached the ground floor. "Not that I care or any…"

"So, what kind of deck is it and is it good?" Syrus immediately asked, interrupting Jade's chain of thought.

"My heroes are sweet, they may not be strong on their own but with the right spell card they are a force to recon with, especially when you use fusion and bring out the best heroes in the deck from Flame Wingman to Tempest" Jaden replied, his mood changed to one of pure happiness that someone is really interest in his deck. "And because of that, I barely lost once!"

"So, your more into fusion style duelling Jaden" Syrus inquired as they began to head out of the academies main entrance.

"Yeah, my favourite is the Flame Wingman. He has a sweet ability and has always helped getting me out of trouble" Jaden answered with a grin. "In fact, he is one of my best cards that keeps me in the game."

"Sounds cool!"

As the two talked more about the elemental heroes, Jade couldn't help but listen in as she overhears every word.

"Well, this could be useful. I will have to watch him duel with this deck to see if he isn't all talk"

Slifer Red Dorm

"And here we are students, your home from home" Banner proudly declared as he revealed to the slider red students their dorm but within a few moments a group sized cry of disbelief was sounded as the group took in the site.

"Wait this is a dorm?" one called out as he scanned the area. "This looks like one of those one-bedroom flats you find in Japan."

"How the hell would you know that?"

"I read a lot of manga, ever heard of peephole?"

"Hold one, one bedroom? How do you expect to fit us all in this building?"

Banner chuckled nervously and gave off a defeated look as the group continued giving harsh comments about the dorm's appearance.

"Oh, come on its not that bad, it is very large, spacious and is capable of housing dozens of students so please stop with the comments" Banner thought in desperation.

Meanwhile, Yubel hovered above them and examined the dorm herself. If she were to voice her opinion, it would be way worse than the bickering students as her eyes narrowed and pouted at the building. It was a two-storey building with an outside staircase to the upper level. It had the appearance of such a building as one of the students previously said but it was much larger with an attached adjacent building next to it which could be either the dorms cafeteria or a built-in classroom. It looked rather shabby and the only redeeming feature was that it is a beachfront building, well ocean front if you consider that it was on a cliff and there is no beach.

"Are they really expecting Jaden to live here for the duration of his stay in this academy. Not that I can complain about the possible snug fit as me and my king in a small room to ourselves does sound very pleasing but I am starting to think that the rooms are not soundproof."

The opening of a door on the upper floor caught her attention as a student, possibly one who entered the day before, came out due to the commotion.

"Oh hey, you guys the latest dorm members?"

Banner looked up and gave a sigh of relief.

"Ah Nicholas, may I ask for your assistance in explaining the dorm" Banner called out, hoping that one of the students who has spent a day and night in the dorm would say something good.

"Uh ok sure, right there are three to a room so don't expect an individual room even though we do have a lot of rooms. Also, that building there is the shower room, but the waterworks are weird as from seven onwards its cold so if you want a hot shower its best to wake up at six. Also, we spotted some roaches here and there so if any of you have issues with insects it best to get yourself some bug spray."

Silence drifted upon the group as Banner instantly turned pale and his jaw dropped. The cat in his arms just purred and once it meowed, the silence broke.

"Roaches!? What kind of academy makes their students sleep with roaches!?"

"Hell no, there is no way I am sleeping here!"

"Are the other dorms like this?"

Banner felt a huge sweat drop fall from his head as he is forced to embrace another day of angry students in disbelief.

"Oh, and someone also noticed rodent droppings on the outside of the building so there could be rats as well" the student, Nicholas, also revealed and once again the group was in an uproar but before they could direct the frustration to Banner. The dorm head leapt into action first and began to cry out at the top of his voice.

"Everyone please calm down! There are no rats as this dorm has its own personal rodent exterminator right here!" he declared and lifted Pharaoh to present him, who in turn just meowed at the group. "Also a few roaches are nothing, we had an exterminator here last week to inspect the place and if there are a few stragglers then it really is nothing as they will be gone at the end of the week and as for the water situation, it is being informed and maintenance will correct the issue in no time so please stop making a fuss about it!"

The statement began to have an immediate effect on the group as they indeed calm down as they started to address the dorm in a new light.

"I suppose that's fine, as long as I don't find a roach in my bed that is."

"I hope that water issue is sorted soon. I don't like the idea of going into class with a stink. How will I impress a girl let alone anybody if I stink?"

As the group discussion amongst themselves continued and Nicholas returned to his room, Banner could only make a confident appearance to show support in his words but, he was nearly dead inside.

"I cannot believe that they took that bluff, Pharaoh a rodent exterminator. He cannot even chase a mouse. Oh, I really need to speak to Sheppard to try and get this dorm fixed up. It was supposed to be done over the summer break, but they completely ignored it thinking it was some sort of storage place" Banner stressed out on the inside before taking a deep breath and tried to think positive. "Still I no doubt will impress them with my cooking, even though it won't be what they will be expecting. Anyway, time to sort their room call out."

"Alright students, now if you be so kind so that I have your attention" he announced and his free hand to pull out his PDA from his pocket. "I will now assign you to your respected room."

As he did this, Yubel still hovering above them now had a new opinion about the dorm, and it wasn't pleasant.

Twenty minutes later

As the last three of the new students entered their accommodation, Banner gave a sigh of relief as he now as a moment to himself.

"Finally, that is done with and now I can sort out tonight's meal" Banner casually said to himself and looked back to his PDA. "Now I still have two missing students and according to Mrs Fontaine they are with Dr Crowler. I can only wonder what he wants with them at this point."

"Wow this place is sweet!"

Banner though slightly startled looked to see who spoke and see his two missing new students and, surprisingly to see, Jade Princeton. The one who spoke was clearly the one who was very enthusiastic, the very opposite to what the rest of the group was.

"Just look at that view, this has to be the best dorm in the academy with a view like that" the student stated and instantly Banner had tears coming out of his eyes.

"Why couldn't the others be like this student" he thought to himself as he felt happy, not seeing Jade approach him from the side.

"Professor Banner."

He looks to see Jade right by him and gave her his trademark grin.

"Ah Mrs Princeton, thank you for bringing my students. I trust there wasn't any issues?"

"No there wasn't but the doctor hoped there was, seemed he wanted to get back at the one who beat him in the entrance exam but never got the chance" Jade replied, partially bored and wanting to beck to her own dorm.

"I see, so that one with the enthusiasm is the one who beat Vellian, impressive."

"Not really he was happy go lucky, anyway there're here so I will be heading back."

"Very well I will see you in class Mrs Princeton and thank you again" Banner replied as Jade just gave a short wave and began to head back when Jaden called over.

"Hey, we'll see you tomorrow!"

She didn't reply and continued walking down the path, leaving them behind as she moved further and further away.

"Huh? She is in a hurry" Syrus pointed out but before Jaden could say anything else related, he spotted something on the ground and his interest about the dorm piqued up once more.

"No way!" he declared and ran past Banner who was just about to greet them who in turn was confused and wondered what could have gotten the boy so excited and looked to see what it was.

"This place has an outdoor duel field!" Jaden cried out as he inspected the marked ground that showed the rectangle shape of an arena. "This place has class."

Banner was taken back at the boy's character as out of all the students he has received, this one is clearly the most eager to be in his situation, or maybe he hasn't figured it out but for now Banner is satisfied that he has a student who is not disappointed.

"Well, it seems you are very eager to start your first year here" he finally said to the student who was still admiring the makeshift duel field.

"Very, I am very eager" Jaden slowly replied as he crouched down to get a closer look.

"Indeed, so you must be Jaden Yuki and that means…" Banner said and turned to face the small boy behind him. "…you are Syrus Truesdale."

Syrus who was just watching Jaden suddenly became aware that a teacher was addressing him and stood sharply as if he was on a drill.

"Ye…yes sir I am" Syrus nervously answered but Banner gave him a reassuring smile.

"No need to be nervous young Syrus, I'm sure you will do well here at the academy so do try to settle in" Banner reassured the boy. "Speaking of which, I will need to accommodate the two of you" he then said and looked at his PDA again. "Mr Yuki, Mr Truesdale, you both will be bunking with Mr Huffington. First door once your top of the stairs, your bags are already delivered so all you need is to unpack."

Jaden turned his attention to the mentioned door and got himself up from where he was crouching and headed over to the stairway.

"Guess we'll do that right now, c'mon Syrus" Jaden announced as he patted Syrus on the shoulder. "Let's say hello to our roommate."

"Hey slow down, you are taking this too well aren't you?"

Banner watched them as they headed to their respected door and once, he saw them enter, he began to make his way to his own room that was right underneath.

"Hope Chumley doesn't frighten them, considering he would be in bed at this time."

Slifer Dorm, Second Floor, Room 2A

"Huh, look at this place" Syrus said as he looked over their room and it was in truth as he saw, underwhelming and disappointing. "It just large enough for three people, I mean the desk and those bunks take up the majority of the room…with barely enough room for this wardrobe."

It was as he described it, a cramped from only the space between the desk and the bunk that you can move around in. The curtains were drawn for some reason as it was still daylight which made the room practically gloomy as well as cramped, but Jaden however, just looked around the room and seemed happy with the place. In a space between the desk and the door were their bags, clearly delivered to the academy before their arrival.

"It's snug but it is what you make of it, we'll be alright" he replied and looked to the bed and almost jumped as sitting on the bottom bunk unseen was Yubel and she was not happy. "Why don't you check the cupboards."

Syrus looked to where Jaden pointed and without asking questions he did so as in fairness he was curios to how spacious it was if it was to hold clothing for three people. While he was doing that, Jaden leaned on the desk and began to address the rather grumpy spirit.

"So, what do you think, cosy huh?" he asked but received narrowed eyes in response. "You don't think so…oh dear."

"You missed out a lot, especially when it was revealed that rats and roaches have been spotted and it gets better" she complained. "Faulty water system with no hot water from seven onwards and if it isn't obvious, this place is dump!"

Jaden didn't want to smirk but it was rather funny that Yubel was moody about where they are staying though the roaches part got him thinking on acquiring something to help ensure that none came into the room as the last thing he wants is bed bugs crawling all over him when he is asleep.

"Don't worry, it is fixable and also you better get used to it because this is going to be our home."

Yubel only groaned as she hated the fact that Jaden is going to be staying here and that in turn means she must as well. At least the deck is better, but she really wanted to snug into the same bed he is in, but it is bunk bed and not exactly romantic material for her taste. No longer able to withhold it, he allowed the smirk to show on his face and moved to the window and opened the curtains to allow the light to enter the room.

"Do you mind! Those were closed for a reason!"

Both Jaden and Syrus jumped as Yubel flew from the bed to Jaden's side, unsure how she failed to notice that there was someone else with them, then again, her preoccupied mind about the state of the dorm can be obvious factor.

"Oh, sorry man. I didn't see you there" Jaden apologised as he noticed that there was someone on the top bunk.

"Yeah err…it was dark, so we didn't notice" Syrus explained as he too noticed the movement in the top bunk.

"Well then, can you see me now!"

Within a second, a large head appeared over the top bunks side and glared right at them, the two boys instantly panicked and grabbed each over as what they saw looked exactly like an angry bear.

"Gyah! It's a bear, a bear!" Syrus screamed as he over-panicked.

"No…no, no. Its…sorry, he's human, he's human!" Jaden said to calm the panicking boy. "He's human!"

"Yeah, well if you don't watch yourself, you will be facing a bear!" their new roommate threatened as he moved to get out of the top bunk and landed in front of them. He is revealed to be quite large, with a rather unique nose and hairstyle of a round bun on each side of his head. It made him look like a giant Koala in a way.

"Who the hell is this fatty?" Yubel asked, a little agitated that the rooms resident made a threat.

"Yubel, calm down. Let me handle it" Jaden said to her before stepping forward. "There is no need to make threats, we're all friends here" he stated to the big guy, but it didn't seem to make the atmosphere friendlier. "Ok…you must Huffington, well this is Syrus and I am Jaden. Jaden Yuki."

"Yuki?" their new roommate said slowly before his eyes widened. "You're that kid who beat Crowler in the entrance exams?"

Jaden didn't really know how to reply as from what he just heard, it seemed that he had done the impossible or something. Syrus cocked an eyebrow as he became confused, wondering why the entrance exams made Jaden famous or maybe infamous.

"I just passed then entrance exam nothing more. May I ask why it sounds like a big deal?"

"Big deal? Big deal? Its huge!" their roommate yelled out very loudly, alarming the two in front of him. "If there was one thing a student in this academy should know it's never cross doctor Crowler."

"I think I missed rule" Jaden mumbled, unsure where this was going.

"When was that ever a rule?" Syrus asked Jaden but when the other guy heard him, he snapped.

"Since the beginning! From day one, every slifer had to learn this the hard way and Crowler is not the only one. It is the Obelisk Blue's you also must watch out for. The vast majority will stomp over you and the Ra Yellow's. They will just deny your existence."

Jaden blinked a few times as what he heard was very well informed and there can be only one reason for this.

"You're a trial student, aren't you?"

"Yes, I am. In fact, I am the only trial student of this dorm left" the roommate revealed, before sitting down on the bottom bunk. "Names Chumley, Chumley Huffington and don't expect me to say welcome because most likely you and the rest of the new fodder will flunk out before the end of the first term."

"Fodder?" both Jaden and Syrus thought as they looked at each other.

"Um excuse me err…Chumley but what do you mean by that? The fodder thing?" Syrus asked.

"Well basically the red dorm is the lowest of the low, the Red Wonders as they call us. Meaning oh I wonder how I got this far in life and let us not forget oh I wonder how I can even play a deck!"

The description caused both Jaden and Syrus to somewhat gawk in surprise as though they knew that the dorm rank system was an issue. What they are hearing is something else as from the looks of it, they are practice targets of some kind.

"Anything else?" Jaden casually asked, wondering if he was going to regret it.

"Huh, oh err well because of this. No one from this dorm has ever been promoted to the next dorm up, the Ra dorm. And because of the obelisk nightmare causing the rest of the trial slifers to quit after one duel each" Chumley detailed more but the term obelisk nightmare has got them even more confused.

"The what nightmare?

Chumley looked like he was going to burst laughing but instead he just yelled.

"The what nightmare? The obelisk nightmare! Zaria Truesdale that's who, you two must know of her!"

The look on Syrus's face dropped upon hearing who the obelisk nightmare is, and it did not go unnoticed.

"So, you have heard of her, everyone has these days" Chumley sighed and rubbed his face. "What was your name again?"

In an instant, Jaden became very concerned as he had no idea how Chumley will react will Syrus reveals that he is Zara's little brother. Before he could act however, Syrus had a grin on his face and gave a little wave.

"It's Syrus, nice to meet you."

"Err yeah, nice to meet you too" Chumley replied, he narrowed his eyes causing worry to Jaden that he may already know because if Jaden's own name has become known then so could have Syrus's due to his last name. But his fears ended when Chumley stood up and for the first time since they entered the room, he gave them a grin. "Well then, since you're staying here, I guess I can show you the rest of the dorm. Consider it my appreciation for putting Crowler in his place with that win of yours."

"It was nothing" Jaden said in silent relief as Chumley headed to the door with the two following in tow.

Obelisk Blue Girls Dorm Grounds

Jade had just gotten to the dorm grounds when her PDA began to vibrate and emit a chime within her coat pocket. Taking it out she sees that it is a video call and upon seeing the name of the caller she groaned. Knowing that if she rejects the call, the caller will just call again so she accepted the call.

"Jade you there, do you have any idea what just happened moments ago?!"

She just rolled her eyes as Troy's angry face showed on the screen.

"Do tell?" she sarcastically asked, continuing her route to the dorm.

"Me and Bratt just got somewhat blasted by Crowler and the disciplinary committee over that fight we had with that slifer slacker on the ship yesterday!"

"Technically it was you and Bratt, don't include me into your little we. I never wanted to be in any part of it."

She then heard someone else in the background which no doubt is Bratt making a fuss and Troy shushing him up.

"Look we know the only ones who could have ratted us out is that slifer slacker or Rhodes, but it is obviously the slacker, so we have a favour to ask of you."

She stopped walking and began to feel slightly annoyed.

"What favour?"

"Could you duel the slacker and put him in his place?"

She stared at the screen for a moment before sighing and pinching the bridge of her nose as she felt that she was being fooled around while not being in the mood for it.

"I'm hanging up."

"Wait…wait, wait, wait! Don't hang up!" Troy cried out through the speaker making her pause. "Look we wouldn't ask you for no reason because normally we would do it ourselves but Crowler confiscated our decks until tomorrow so me and Bratt literally have no cards!"

"Too bad for you" she commented. "Though it does explain the favour."

"So please duel the slacker and we promise to not cause problems again!"

"Ha, this isn't the first time I heard them promise this" she thought in amusement as every time they need her help with something they always make that promise, and they fail to keep it before a week was out. The last time however lasted nearly two weeks so there was improvement, but they were back to their same old, same old. "I'll think about it but that's that! I'll contact you when I have decided if I am going to help, understand?"

"Loud and clear, you're the best Jade but please decide soon. Me and Bratt really want to see that slacker put into his place."

"Yeah, yeah I know. I'm hanging up now."

She quickly ended the video call and continued on her way as she got closer and closer to the dorm, a small smirk grew on her lips as she held back a chuckle over what was said.

"It was either the slifer or Rhodes" she said amidst a giggle. "They never considered that it was me though albeit it was an accident on my part but still to ask me to duel him as revenge, so sad."

"My heroes are sweet, they may not be strong on their own but with the right spell card they are a force to recon with, especially when you use fusion and bring out the best heroes in the deck from Flame Wingman to Tempest…And because of that, I barely lost once!"

The conversation between Jaden and Syrus she listened in seemed to just pop up in her mind as the concept of accepting the request to duel him was also on mind. At first she didn't even want to get involved after her curiosity on what dorm he would be put in was fulfilled but then the conversation on the boat and what she overheard earlier was now on her mind as well.

"Hmm…maybe I should duel him just to see if he isn't all talk" she wondered to herself aloud. "And not because of those two idiots!"

"Let me give you some advice, never give a girl a promise you cannot keep."

She stopped in her tracks as she recalled herself saying that on the boat and crossed her arms as she pondered further. Jaden did admit he got lucky in the entrance exam but only with a deck that was his but not technically his own. He ended up in the slifer red dorm as a result but seems positive about his position as she saw earlier. Is adamant to prove the dorm system wrong, yeah like he is the first to state such. Her mood changed and she becomes both annoyed and agitated as due to her thinking hard on this, she gained a bit of a headache.

"Ugh forget it, I need to lie down. I'm getting a bloody headache" she groaned and continued on her way and past the last hedgerow to see the dorm's main doors but paused as she saw what appeared to be two students standing at the main doors as guards, once again she became annoyed. "Seriously, do I have to barge through the doors again?!"

Without another thought, she strode towards the doors and the apparent guards did not even notice her until she got to the steps. When she did, the two girls looked at her and one knocked on the door, this looked ridiculous to her as she just eyed the two like if they were crazy.

"What are we now, a secret society?"

"Just shut up and get in, we are out here to make sure that the boys from the neighbouring dorm don't arrive early" one of them said and Jade became confused.

"Huh, what are you on about?"

"Miss Fontaine is inside so she will explain the details" the other replied as the doors opened to reveal the dorm head and head nurse who came to see what the knocking was about.

"Ah Jade your finally here" the head nurse said as she stepped aside to allow Jade to enter the building. "You just missed the announcement, but the obelisk welcome dinner will have both dorm taking part together as the chancellor will also be joining us."

"Huh, Chancellor Sheppard. He will be joining us?"

"That's right, now due to that it will signify the first official academic start for the academy it will be a black-tie event, so you girls best get your best dresses on."

Fontaine felt really happy as though she had the looks and body that will rock in a dress, she isn't getting any younger despite being only thirty and really wants to find a man so any feedback on her look from any of the students will definitely be encouraging before heading off for a night in the town during the academy breaks and holidays. She had a smile on her face, but it dropped when she noticed Jade's features. She was not smiling, in fact she looked like she was uncomfortable.

"What's the matter?" she asked out of concern as she never liked to see her students upset or uncomfortable.

"Do I have to wear a dress? I would rather wear what I am wearing now" Jade replied as she began to fidget with her hair a little. Fontaine continued to look at her and a small crept on her face.

"Don't want the boys staring?"

"What do you think. The only dress I got kinda… hugs the figure to the point of I am going to get stared at. I have better things to do then get chatted up by some idiots. I mean I am representing my family's company and that's really the only reason they want to chat me up."

Fontaine giggled as Jade continued to fiddle with her hair.

"I am pretty sure you won't have any problems. Anyway, you need to come as the top duellists of both dorms need to attend."

"Fine."

"And besides, I bet Mrs Truesdale will be receiving all the attention as she is the top female duellist in the academy so far."

"I pity the masses" Jade sarcastically said to herself. "When is it going to start?"

"This evening at eight so about the same time as the evening meals. Don't be late" Fontaine replied with a grin back on her face.

"Got it."

Slifer Dorm

"And here is my favourite place in the entire dorm" Chumley announced. "The mess hall."

The hall was quite large and because of this, it got both Jaden and Syrus wondering how the actual fuck was this hall hidden from them from the outside. There was also a large monitor on the wall with a small shelf nearby, probably to show tv shows during break hours.

"This place is huge" Syrus commented as he looked around. "From outside you couldn't tell that this was here."

"Yeah, well this half of this was originally a storeroom but after some incidents with the other dorms in the main cafeteria in the main building. My fellow students before they all dropped out decided to knock down a wall and combine the storage room, that was never used with the dorms lounge and turn it into our own mess hall" Chumley explained further. "With permission from Banner and the chancellor obviously."

"Wait you're serious? You had to create your own mess hall?"

"Yeah, well apparently there wasn't enough budget to give the dorm a mess hall once they completed the banquet halls for the blue dorms and dining hall for the yellow dorm."

"Banquet what now?" both Syrus and Jaden asked in unison but before Chumley could answer, a familiar meow was heard and all three looked in the noises direction to see an equally familiar fat cat was sitting on one of the tables near what looked like a small curtain like you would find at the entrance of a small food shop in Japan. They also began to hear noises from what sounded like a kitchen located behind said curtain. Chumley seemed to know who it was before the other two could figure it out.

"Hey Professor Banner, you are cooking some grub for tonight?"

"One second!" the voice of the slifer dorms head called out and indeed within a second or more accurately a few seconds. Banner stepped through the curtains, revealing that he was wearing a plain white apron and is holding a dish cloth.

"Ah Chumley, you here to help with tonight's welcome feast?"

"Sure, just showing these two around since they're now my new roommates"

The two then smelt something wafting from the kitchen and they both instantly figured that it was mackerel but also something else.

"Smells good, wait so you're not just our dorm head but you're also the cook?" Jaden inquired as Banner wiped his hands on the dish cloth he carried.

"Indeed I am, and I must say with the amount of new students, I am going to be busy indeed from the cooking, the grading and the all that stuff" Banner informed then, cheerful at first until he looked really down.

"Well, he seems to be a hard worker at least" Jaden thought as he watched Chumley try to cheer their dorm head up. "Would you like some extra help?"

"Thank you but the kitchen can only accommodate so many people so it would be a squeeze in a sense."

Big mess hall? Small kitchen just how was this guy going to feed a whole dorm was the question that went through the two as they watched as Chumley just left them to assist Banner.

"So, what do we do now" whispered Syrus as with their dorm guide just upped and abandoned them.

"I'll check" Jaden replied. "Is there anything else about the dorm we should know about?"

"Nope that's about it."

The two of them now were unsure of what to do next, they could either just return to the room and unpack their stuff and just chill or they could have another look around. Besides, Jaden will need to look at his decks first before doing anything else.

"Actually students" Banner spoke out to them. "You were in Dr Crowler's Office earlier today?

"Yeah, for three hours" Jaden pointed out which resulted in Banner gawking a little.

"Three hours? Just what was he doing with you two?"

Both boys just grinned and chuckled a bit as they had no idea on how to explain how exactly Crowler kept them in the office for over three hours. Could they say he was repeating a very boring academic sermon, or he was just being a repeating foghorn prone to cause sheer boredom and sleepiness. There just was not an exact way of explaining.

"Do he repeat the same thing over and over or something?" Chumley asked out of the blue and the grins that both Jaden and Syrus had disappeared, replaced with curiosity.

"Nailed it but how did you know?" Syrus inquired.

"That's his preferred detention method" Banner sighed aloud and pinched the bridge of his nose. "Well, that means you missed the tour around the academy and since you have a few hours until the welcome dinner, why don't you go and have a look around the academy. We have the classrooms, arena's, the card shop…"

If Jaden had cat ears, they would have perked up upon hearing a very magical word.

"Card shop?" he interrupted Banner who paused in response.

"Oh yes we have a card shop located on the main academy building, second floor. As an academy dedicated to train duellists to the pro level, we would need to have a means to supply our students with new cards and…wait where did he go?"

Syrus and Chumley looked to see what Banner meant and saw, much to Syrus's shock, that Jaden was nowhere to be seen. If they could, they would see the flashing lines outlining where Jaden once was.

"Er, where did he go?"

Syrus looked around rather quickly as his head went left to right like if it was in a marathon, trying to spot where Jaden cold have gone to. Since he couldn't see him within the mess hall, he then looked for him outside. Both Banner and Chumley followed as they too were curious as to where Jaden could have gone to.

"Seriously where did he…" Chumley began to say but was stopped by a loud noise that sounded like a door being slammed open. All three looked up but in Syrus's case, look up and cry out in shock as Jaden jumped over the railings and land beside him, well on top of him if Syrus had not darted to the side in time.

"Excuse me that was dangerous, please use the stairs provided!" Banner announced as Jaden started to take off.

"Huh? Oh sorry, will do. I'll do that after I've seen the card shop!" Jaden called back as he sprinted towards the academy building, with his backpack in tow and leaving the three back at the dorm.

"Well, he runs…fast" Syrus spoke as he watches Jaden leave behind him a dust cloud as the very energetic guy slowly disappears into the distance. "How exactly does he do that?"

Banner himself was quite surprised at the sight and wondered if the boy was meant to be in an athletic institution with that stamina and not in duel academy. With such stamina the boy may even impress Miss Fontaine as she isn't just the academy nurse and Obelisk dorm head but also the physical education tutor. Teaching sports and making good use of the track.

"I hope he doesn't do anything foolish" Banner heard Syrus say as the boy rubbed the back of his head.

"If he is going to the card shop as he declared loudly earlier, I think young Jaden will be fine" Banner said reassuringly. "I believe the only trouble he will receive is first, which booster pack should he get and second, the shock of finding out how its paid."

Syrus looked back and was puzzled, unsure of what Banner meant.

"What do mean by that, buying new cards takes money right?" he asked the dorm head who just chuckled in response.

"Not necessarily" Banner replied before returning inside followed by Chumley and Syrus who followed them in, still wanting to get an answer.

Yubel, listening in from above became quite interested and flew in pursuit after Jaden but was prevented further when Kuriboh flew in-front of her, stopping her tracks.

"Now what do you want fur ball?"

Kuriboh chirped at her and she crossed her arms and glared harshly at the small duel spirit.

"And what do you mean I am not leaving your sight? You want another go like last night?" Yubel threatened Kuriboh who chirped a 'do you' in reply as the two duel spirits sized themselves up for a possible fight. A few seconds later though, both spirits backed off and Yubel grumbled something under her breath and Kuriboh kept her in his sights.

"So, what do you suppose we should do then?"

Kuriboh chirped an answer and Yubel did not really like it.

"Watch from a distance? Sounds fun but I'm going to go with no."

Kuriboh chirped a rather frustrating noise as the winged fur ball rolled its large eyes before chirping again which is translated as… "Let us just watch without interfering in his business and if he does get into trouble of sorts, then we intervene. Sound good?"

Yubel just floated where she was and appeared to ponder on Kuriboh's words.

"Nah!"

Before Kuriboh could react, Yubel flew past him with a good amount of speed causing the fur ball to spin on the spot. After a few spins, Kuriboh now dizzy, regained his bearings and knew instantly what happened. Chirping profanity aimed at her, he quickly flew to catch up and boy was the fur ball pissed.

Duel Academy Card Shop

"Get out the way slackers" a bulky looking Obelisk ordered as he barged through two slifer students who were looking at some booster packs until the interruption and now trying to avoid the obelisks that were also in the shop. The only obelisk in the store who found the situation troublesome as it may affect her work experience is former trial student turned first year Sadie and she just groaned in silence as she watched bored stiff at the slifers and obelisks look at the booster packs on display and the formers avoiding the latter's.

"C'mon just get out the shop, drag some of the slifers with you or follow them when they leave and jerk around outside the shop. Preferably far away from me, just leave before something happens…" she moaned in her head as she watched everything in front of her with annoyed eyes. And within a minute as if fate was cruel to her or the universe just happens to have a thing against her for this day only. Jaden turned the corner and beamed as he sees the counters full of booster packs. His presence did not go unnoticed as Sadie saw him enter and gave a sigh of defeat. "Great…another slifer, this is not my day."

Jaden walked in, glancing side to side as he felt like a kid in a candy store. There were dozens of packs on display from monster cards to fusion cards, spell cards and trap cards. There were some that appeared to be specialised and focused on certain attributes or monster types. In other words, it was like any card shop you would find elsewhere, and this made Jaden feel at home. He got to the main counter and felt the urge to buy as many packs as he can, good thing he brought his wallet. Looking up, he sees Sadie look away from him as she was focussing on a clipboard. Seeing that she was wearing a uniform, Jaden figured that she was the staff and called out.

"Excuse me, hi!"

Sadie became aware that she was being addressed to and looked to see that it was the latest visitor. Stopping what she was doing, Sadie stepped closer and faced him while mentally sorting out her composure.

"Can I help you?" she politely asked but missed out the smile which is a key bit in customer service.

"Yeah, I like to purchase some booster packs please" Jaden replied and took out his wallet, causing Sadie to be slightly amused.

"Sorry but we don't accept cash, were you not briefed during the introduction?"

Jaden paused and became confused upon hearing that the store does not accept money, making him wonder what kind of store he is in.

"Huh, I didn't take part in the introduction fully. I pretty much spent the past three hours in Crowler's office, so I missed a lot" he explained but when he mentioned Crowler's name, pretty much all of the slifers and the obelisks took notice as Jaden blissfully was unaware that he was receiving a lot of looks. "So, what kind of currency does this shop accept?"

Sadie blinked a few times and wondered if he was telling the truth or lying to cover up flunking the introduction but decided to at least answer his question.

"Well, we accept duel points, after each duel you take part in you receive duel points which are collected on your PDA. It's like coin but is only accepted here in duel academy."

Jaden listened with interest as Sadie explained the currency, still unaware that he was being eyed at from behind.

"Ok I think I get it, in order to acquire cards, I will need to duel and from those duels I get these points in which I can spend here" Jaden said, to show that he is getting the gist of it. "Do the duel points have an additional function as well?"

"They do, the higher duel points you have then the more you can spend them on alternatives. You see, you can spend normal cash to get food from the cafeteria if you choose but you can instead spend duel points to obtain them. Take the ship you came in; it is part of the academy, so the rules apply there but since you just enrolled. You no doubt used cash to purchase some things, correct?"

Jaden nodded, surprised to hear that he could have used points to pay for his meal if he had the ability to do so.

"Well, the students who were here last year such as myself wouldn't need to as we have duel points and therefore won't need to use normal currency."

"Sounds pretty neat…wait you're also a student?"

Sadie nodded in response.

"Yeah, me and my cousin were both trial students and now are presently first year students in Obelisk Blue though my cousin is more of the duellist whereas I am more in terms of learning the duellist world market, hence my work experience in this shop."

"Sweet" Jaden openly declared, appearing very impressed with it and by doing so made Sadie wonder if he was really interested, for a slifer. "So, I get duel points from duels, does the entrance exams count?"

"Of course, it should tell you on your PDA though in terms of how you did in the duel as showed by your dorm colours. You most likely would be given enough for one plain booster pack or two beginner packs" Sadie pointed out bluntly which surprised Jaden even more.

"Seriously, where do I check?" he asked as he pulled his PDA from his pocket and began to search through it.

"Wallet icon in the bottom left of the screen once you selected your personal profile" Sadie directed and watched as Jaden did so. She watched as Jaden eyes widened and looked stunned.

"Um could you tell me how much a booster pack is exactly?"

Sadie sighed and crossed her arms.

"It's fifty duel points for the beginner packs, a hundred for the standard. A hundred and fifty for the advanced packs and three to five hundred for the more specialised packs" she informed him right of the bat. "So, you want two beginners of one standard?"

"How about twenty-five standard packs" Jaden replied causing Sadie to blink. The others in the shop who were staring from behind became confused.

"Excuse me but what do you mean by twenty-five packs? Surely you mean one, right?"

At first Jaden did not really know how to explain it as he continued to stare at the screen and a nervous chuckle escaped his lips.

"Well, you said that a standard pack is worth a hundred and according to my wallet here" he began to explain and turned his PDA around to show her what it says. "I have twenty-five hundred duel points which is twenty-five times a hundred so by the math, twenty-five packs."

Sadie gasped in pure shock as true to his word, the PDA showed that his wallet content is indeed twenty-five hundred duel points. She practically shrieked as a result, scaring Jaden, and alarming the others.

"Two thousand and five hundred points!? How the fuck did you acquire that amount!? Just what did you do?" Sadie demanded with the work-based professionalism thrown out of the window in tow.

"Well, I don't really know" Jaden replied quickly as the changed in attitude from calm to out the window was startling. "It could be related to the entrance exam maybe but other than that I don't know!"

"Oh, really then do, pray tell, did you beat in order to get that many poi…" Sadie began to ask but trailed off as a thought occurred on how he got those points. "Hold on a moment, what is your name?"

"Its…" Jaden was about to reply as he too had a thought and realised that he was the centre of attention in the whole shop. "Uh oh, this is not good. When did they start staring at me? Never mind, I just need to play it out. Give a fake name, no harm done." He thought and quickly made something up. "Its…Malcom, Malcom Blake."

"Malcom Blake?" Sadie questioned with a lot of doubt.

"Yeah…Malcom Blake" Jaden again put forward, hoping that the room would buy it.

"Ah Jaden I see you are checking out the shop too."

Jaden instantly froze as a small eep escaped his throat. He recognised the voice as Bastian had just walked in and was approaching from behind.

"Jaden?" he called again as he got closer, not realising yet on what he has just caused.

"Jaden? I thought your name was Malcom Blake!" Sadie commented and Bastian became confused as Jaden himself gave a nervous chuckle and looked behind him to see that the obelisk students in the shop had begun to block the entrance. Bastian, following Jaden's focus, noticed what was happening and became concerned as he was uncertain of the situation.

"Do you know what is going on" Bastian asked as he watched as a large and bulky obelisk student start to approach, his gaze fixed on Jaden as the slifers in the room edged further away.

"Well, it turns out my entrance exam had earned me a bit of a reputation" Jaden explained as he quickly turned around as the big guy began to walk towards them.

"Define reputation?" Bastian inquired as he too turned around.

"Well first off" Jaden began as a large shadow appeared over him, causing him to gulp. "Number one enemy of the obelisk blues."

"Oi, turn around slifer!"

Jaden was not sure if he should but against his better judgement, he did as he was told and turned to see a gorilla of a student glare down at him. The guy was not just stocky, he was bulky to the point the uniform had stretch marks. If the guy did a Hulk style flex, then just like the Hulk, the clothes would tear off.

"You're the Jaden Yuki kid, aren't you?" Sadie asked from behind as Jaden kept his eyes on the huge obelisk blue now in front of him, feeling quite intimidated to the point he could not say a word. Jaden rather reluctantly nodded and the big guy in front of him made a humph.

"So, you're the slifer punk who got lucky against Crowler" the Obelisk student questioned as he stooped over Jaden like an interrogator. "You don't look like much."

Starting to feel a bit ticked off by the guy's attitude and forgetting the fact that he is most likely twice the size. Jaden decided to make a comment of his own, of course without thinking it through first.

"Neither do you!"

The big guy blinked and grunted disapprovingly, grabbed Jaden by the collar and pulled him close.

"You say something pipsqueak?"

"Didn't you hear me ape-man!"

Bastian took a step back as gasps began to be heard as well as impolite comments towards Jaden. The big guy remained staring and a grin appeared on his face.

"Oh, you think you're a tough-guy huh?" the obelisk mocked but Jaden did not flinch as he did not want to give the huge bully the satisfaction.

"Nope, just telling the truth."

The big guy grunted amusingly and let Jaden go with a small shove.

"You know what slacker? I think I should put you in your place!"

Jaden suddenly groaned loudly, causing the room to go curious, even the big guy.

"Seriously, first on the ship and now today? Why do you guys want to punch people? Fine, let us get this over with."

Jaden began to rub his knuckles together, causing a reaction from his opponent.

"Huh, what the hell are you talking about slacker?"

Jaden paused, raising an eyebrow in response.

"Well, this is what your implying, isn't it?"

"Chrissie!" the obelisk called out and turned on the spot. Jaden leaned to the side to see what the hulking student was looking at and sees one of the other obelisks in the store, a female student reach into a bag and pull something out. She then threw it to the big guy who caught it single handed before turning back to Jaden. "Know what this is smart guy?"

Jaden sees what he is holding, and his eyes widen slightly as he recognises it.

"A duel disk" he replied, and the obelisk grinned widely.

"That's right slacker. Here in duel academy, we settle stuff out with a duel" the obelisk informed Jaden with smug satisfaction. "But I would understand if you want to back out, I mean it's not like I expect anything from a red wonder."

His fellows began to laugh and giggle as the slifer students in the room became distant. Both Bastian and Sadie just watched the events unfold before them as Jaden began to take off his bag and open it. The action seemed to intrigue the challenger as he began to mock Jaden further.

"Oh, what's wrong, looking for a white flag or a blanky to cry in?" he laughed out, but Jaden simply grinned back as he pulled out his own duel disk from his bag and his deck of choice. One he intends to use fully as once he pulled them out, the atmosphere changed as the obelisks paused and the slifers just gawked, thinking that Jaden must have lost it. The big guys expression dropped as he watches Jaden casually put the duel disk on his wrist and place his deck in the deck slot.

"Settle things out with a duel" Jaden spoke out as he faces the obelisk. "Now that I can get behind."

The obelisk was still for a moment until his grin returned and he began to laugh, and the situation amused him greatly.

"Well, well, well, looks like I am getting fresh meat today after all!"

"Are you crazy!" a voice called out and Jaden looks to the source to see a very frantic slifer student look at him in pure shock. "Do you even know who you are going to be duelling against?"

"Um, a duellist like me. What's the big deal?"

His challenger chuckled as the slifer was just dumbstruck.

"Hey slacker, educate this gnat for me" the obelisk ordered the slifer student, which he did without a second thought.

"This is Gregory 'Iron wall' Peterson, he has crushed any slifer who is unfortunate to get in his way!"

Bastian, upon hearing the name, rubbed his chin as he pondered upon the title.

"So, Iron wall. That means that this Peterson specialises in some sort of defence and from the looks of everyone in the room. He has built a reputation; I wonder how Jaden will react. Does he know what it means." He thought as he waits to hear Jaden's comment on the situation.

"Iron wall? Don't know what that's about so when are we gonna throw down. C'mon let's duel!"

Bastain was deadpanned.

"He does not have a clue, does he?"

The obelisk, Gregory Peterson, was unsure if he heard correctly but to him it seems that the 'fresh meat' before him was a total buffoon. In fact, it's almost if he was looking forward to being made an example and join the rest of the slakers in their place.

"This slacker must be odd in the head" he thought but the prospect of wiping the smile of the red wonders face still felt satisfying. "So, you want to get duelling huh. Be careful what you wish for."

Jaden maintained his grin and folded his arms.

"Stop stalling and let's duel already."

A tick mark appeared on Petersons forehead as the nerve of the slifer before him was starting to irk him.

"Smug-ass twerp. I am going to enjoy pounding your ego to dust" he thought to himself before turning on the spot and began to address the room. "Everyone to the duel arena and for prosperity lets have the duel broadcasted live for all the academy to see the go-lucky rat get put in his place!"

Cries of agreement came from his fellows as the idea of a slifer being trashed in a live duel to be a good start of the official year whereas the slifer students were feeling that this will bring them further down and be targeted more. It was at this time, Yubel and Kuriboh had arrived at the store's doorway and had just heard Peterson's statement.

"We arrived too late, didn't we?" was what Kuriboh chirped as the large Obelisk lead the way out of the store with everyone following suite, Jaden and Bastian included.

"What gave it away?" Yubel commented and flew down to Jaden's side. "Jaden, what is going on?"

Jaden made a silent chuckle, but he was not nervous. Instead, he was excited and felt very confident. "Well, it's a long story."

Back in the store

Sadie could only watch from behind the counter as the rest of the students left, some of the slifers tried to slink away. Clearly not wanting to watch Peterson duel but got ushered by the obelisk students who didn't care in the slightest and were more interested to watch them squirm as Peterson destroys a new victim. Soon she was alone in an empty card shop and the first thing she did was grab her PDA.

"Jesus, I got to tell her about this" she declared as she began to enter her contact list.

"Tell who Sadie?" a voice from behind said alongside the closing of the door. Sadie jumped in surprise and stood rooted to the spot as her manager joined her at the counter.

"Dorothy!?" she shrieked out causing her manager smirked in response. "Sorry, I didn't see you come back in."

The store manager, Dorothy, simply giggled in response as she began to check the counters inventory.

"Well, you seem to be distracted by something for you to not notice first-hand. Also, it is still work hour so do you really need to be calling people?"

"Sorry but its big, you know that kid that beat Dr Crowler in the entrance exam yesterday?"

Dorothy paused and thought about what Sadie said. To her recollect, she had heard that Crowler was bested by a new applicant and that it stirred the Obelisk blue dorms into a frenzy as a result.

"I believe so, why?"

"Well Gregory Peterson has just challenged him to a duel, and it is going to be live to the whole academy."

Dorothy became interested in an instant, especially about the challenger.

"Peterson? That boy just bullies anyone who is unfortunate to get caught in his path. And he is going to do the same to a new student who if I am correct about it, just arrived this morning on the ship?"

Sadie nodded in response.

"And it's going to be live?"

Sadie nodded again and Dorothy began to think for a second, and only for a second.

"Sadie, we are closing the store a little early than usual. I want to see this, and I am hoping that bully gets what he deserves" she announced, and Sadie could only go huh. "Well, if this the same one who beat Crowler than there is a possibility."

Sadie could only sigh at Dorothy's sudden enthusiasm but who knows, maybe this duel will be different somehow but only time will tell as no slifer has bested Peterson. Dorothy had just locked the door to the back of the shop as Sadie prepared to lower the shop entrances metal sheet. The process began just as Dorothy excited and once the shop was secure. They left for the arena.

"Do you know which arena it would be?" Dorothy asked as she pocketed something in her trousers.

"It should be the nearest one, it has the means to broadcast a duel both internationally and local."

"Ok, weren't you trying to call someone?"

Dorothy's question instantly reminded her what she was doing before she helped close the shop up early and in response, she took her PDA out and began to resume what she was doing. Selecting the correct contact, she began to hear the tone and listened in, waiting for it to be answered.

"Come on cousin, pick up!"

Obelisk Blue Girls Dorm, Jade's Room

Jade grimaced as she looked at her reflection as she wore her only dress, a black silk strapless dress that left the shoulders bare and went all the down to below the knee. Tight fitting but it is also a leg dress, so it allows leg room but does show some leg as a result. However, that was not what she was grimacing about. The bust part of the dress was tight and though it was not uncomfortable it, it made her breasts look slightly bigger and creating an impressive cleavage that will get either the boys or girls gazing at her direction, in either slight-lust or jealousy. It's not like she could were her binder to keep her bust a size smaller like she always do but she wish she could as the dress will make her look like a size bigger. Even if they weren't big enough to begin with. Apart from that, it also shows her back but she has long hair so that wasn't a concern.

"I look like a piece of stupid eye-candy" she groaned and started to look through a side drawer. "I wonder if I have scarf that can blend in with the dress and help cover the front a bit."

As she did, the PDA dumped on her bed began to vibrate at first before a ringtone sounded, making her stop what she was doing and sigh.

"This had better not be those two idiots and it better be an audio call" she muttered annoyingly and grabbed the PDA. Looking at the screen, she sees the caller ID and felt both relieved that it was not the two idiots and curious as to why the caller is calling.

"Isn't she working today?" she wondered and accepted the call. "Hey Sadie, why are you calling. Aren't you supposed to be at the shop?"

"Huh? No, we closed shop early. Get your tv on!"

Jade blinked, normally her cousin was calmer but now she seemed out of character.

"Why?"

"Just do it!"

Jade could only giggle as Sadie sounded funny when she is being bossy but regardless, she did as she was instructed and sat down on her rooms large couch, pressed the red button on the remote and the rooms large plasma-screen tv turned on.

"Now what?" Jade asked as she began to question what she is meant to do as Sadie was kind enough to not tell her exactly what was happening.

"Peterson is going to duel live, and he has challenged the slifer."

The news resulted in a very annoyed groan as Jade rubbed her face and felt that her time has been wasted before it even started.

"For fuck's sake Sadie, what makes you think I am going to watch a live duel about Peterson of all people. And it's against a slifer? Are you serious?"

There was a pause, but she can still hear her cousin on the other side going 'err'.

"Is there really a reason why you called about this?" she asked, leaning back on the couch and waited for an answer.

"Well yeah, he is challenging that slifer and intends to beat him live!" Sadie replied in a way that made Jade think that her cousin thinks she automatically knows what she is talking about.

"What slifer?"

"The one you told me about! The one who beat Crowler!"

Jade instantly sat up straight as the identity of Peterson's opponent is described and intrigue replaced annoyance as if it were never there.

"Jaden Yuki? That big oaf is challenging Jaden Yuki!?"

"Well, who did you think I was talking about. If it were about some other slifer then I wouldn't have bothered you, but it's that Jaden kid."

Sadie has a point as if it were someone else then she wouldn't have concerned Jade with it, but this is a different case.

"Huh, guess I will see him duel with that deck he was talking about earlier" she thought, and it hit her. "Sadie, what deck is he using?"

"What? Who?"

"Oh for…the slifer! What deck will he be using? He has two!"

"Well, I didn't know that and also, how the hell should I know!"

She sighed as she realised that would be the case as Sadie wouldn't know that information apart from Jaden beat Crowler and it pissed off a lot of obelisk students.

"Okay, okay, that is pretty obvious when I think about it, but I am serious. He has another deck and I want to know how well he uses it as the other deck he was just lucky…." She explained then quickly paused. "Wait why am I saying I want to know, yesterday I didn't give a damn…"

"Well, you may be about to find out soon. I'm entering the duel arena now."

Duel Academy 2nd Floor Arena

The arena was huge, it was just like a sports arena but rounded with a rectangular platform in the middle bearing the floor markings of a duel field and the audience stands curved along the wall to create its angled effect. Jaden could look amazed as he took his place on the duel field as Peterson took the opposite side.

"This is really cool. This arena feels right, and I finally get to have my first match in duel academy" he thought as he took in all the detail.

"Careful Jaden, you don't want to get over your head considering what you got yourself into" Yubel informed him as she also took in the sight. Kuriboh made a chirp of agreement as he was more concerned with the situation out of the three.

"Don't worry I got this" Jaden replied to reassure them. "Also, if I mange to draw you two from the deck, you will have my back yes."

"Always Jaden" Yubel replied and Kuriboh chirped a 'ditto' as they both turned into small glowing orbs and flew into his deck. Jaden began to take in the duel field and wondered if there was a risk with the loose cables that was coming out of the sides and into the stands. As he was taking the rest of the details, Peterson had finished putting on his duel disk and deck and looked towards his target. It amused him see to Jaden get excited about his surroundings but even it was even more amusing to know that he is going to crush the slifer's happiness and place him along with the rest of the red wonder lowlifes. He looks to see two of his troupe tinker with the camera's on the stands upper railing and another in at a desk where a computer is located as the this arena is used for tests and at times the duels are broadcasted to other duel test assessors who could not come in person. However, he needed permission to have the duel broadcasted to the rest of the island as well as to allow access to the camera equipment and he knew just the person to get that. Grinning smugly, he accessed his contact details and pressed the dial icon. His PDA only gave a few dial tones until a familiar voice answered.

"Yes, who is it?"

"Dr Crowler, its Gregory Peterson."

"Ah Mr Peterson. May I ask for the reason of your call?"

"Well doctor, I need your permission to have a certain duel broadcasted all over the academy."

"Ah huh. And what is so special about this 'certain' duel?"

Peterson smirked, knowing that he is going to get the permission regardless.

"Because I am going to humiliate the slifer who got lucky against you in this certain duel."

There was a pause as the line went silent for a few seconds, Peterson even went far as to do a countdown with his fingers and when he hit zero, Crowler spoke again.

"Jaden Yuki! You are duelling Jaden Yuki?"

"That is correct doctor. Second floor, Duel Arena Three."

Another pause as Crowler did not say another word but there was another word as if someone was tapping very hard on a keyboard. Hard enough, one would say, that the keyboard would break in half.

"Permission granted Mr Peterson. I shall look forward to the duel and please, make the runt regret ever stepping foot on the island."

"My pleasure, do enjoy the show."

Ending the call, he looks up again to see the two obelisks at the cameras give him the thumb up as the one at the computer followed suite.

"Chrissie, can you get a mic ready" he asked politely as the female student from back in the shop gave a grin and headed up the audience stand steps towards the desk on the upper stands. He then noticed Bastian was in the stands and seeing no other yellow uniformed student, he called to him.

"Hey, you there, Ra student" he yelled out, getting Bastian's attention. "Get on your dorm link in your PDA and tell them to get their screens on. Second floor, Duel Arena Three. They'll know what to do" he instructed and turned his attention to the forcibly present slifers's. "The same goes to you slacker's, I want your dorm to witness another lesson why you are on rock bottom!"

The slifer's mood became more and more depressed as one did as was instructed. The sight made Bastian stunned as he could not believe that such a thing could happen in an academy, he looked to Jaden and saw that he too had noticed as Jaden looked over the slifer students.

"Hey Jaden!" he called out. "You do have this right?"

Jaden did not say a word but gave him a nod in his direction.

"I guess that means he will be alright."

"Oi Ra!" Peterson called out to him again. "Have you done as I asked?"

Bastian was irked as he did not like the way Jaden's challenger was talking to him and the others, but he didn't want to add more pressure to the situation.

"Doing it now" was all he could say as he got his PDA out and put down the message in his dorm link.

"Bout time" Peterson scoffed as noticed waving at him, a mic in her hand and he gave her a thumbs up in response.

Everything was getting ready as he knows the obelisk dorms will be waiting to watch as he did not need to tell his cronies to inform them.

"Hey slacker, just to inform you. There is no turning back unless you wanted to be humiliated live" he called out to Jaden, hoping to see a slight squirm or any unease in the slifer. But to his surprise, Jaden just looks back to him with pure confidence in his face.

"Don't worry, there's no way I am backing out."

The statement just made Peterson smirk.

"Well, this is going to be interesting."

Slifer Red Dorm

Syrus watched as Professor Banner brought out a third rice cooker, despite the fact there where already two rice cookers cooking rice.

"Say um, how much rice do we need?" he asked Chumley as he got out another bag of rice out from a nearby cupboard.

"Trust me, we will need the rice for the fish" Chumley replied as he set the bag down on the kitchen counter. "Which is going to annoy the others as this will be the same meal for the third time in the row."

As he said this, the doors to the hall burst open and the rest of the dorm's residents began to come in in droves. The noise alerted Banner and when he investigated, he was so baffled that he opened his eyes for a split second.

"Students, I don't think you need to come so soon. The meal isn't even ready yet."

One of the student from previous, Nicholas, rushed past the rest of them and moved to the wall monitor and took a remote from the nearby shelf.

"Sorry professor but I think you need to watch this" he said as he turned the screen on.

Chumley, also wondering what the noise was, appeared from behind Banner with Syrus in tow.

"Er, need to watch what?" Chumley asked as Nicholas began scrolling through the channels.

"There is a duel going live in a few moments and its Peterson against that guy we all heard about, the one who beat Crowler."

As if the information did not need to sink in, Chumley cried out in disbelief and left Banner's side.

"Say what? Give me that remote!" he declared and grabbed the remote from Nicholas and began pressing buttons Syrus didn't have a clue what was going on, but he did figure out that it was about Jaden.

"Okay, so what's happening?" he asked out to the group as they paid no attention to him and were solely focussed on the monitor.

"It seems young Syrus" Banner spoke to him as he looked troubled at the situation. "That your friend has got himself into a worrying situation. Especially since it is Peterson."

Ra Yellow Dorm

Professor Satyr sat in his office, overlooking the timetable for academy's first half of the academic year when a loud knock came from his door.

"Enter" he replied without looking up.

The door opened and a brown spiky haired student entered his office. Satyr looked up briefly before returning to the timetables.

"How may I help you Dmitri?"

"Professor Satyr, you have got to come and see this. The whole dorm is up and at it because of it."

Satyr kept reading the timetables and looked at another one as Dmitri waited patiently as he could for his dorm head to reply but if it keeps this up, he may miss some of what is coming.

"What has got the dorm up and at it?"

"The broadcasted duel that is going live throughout the academy sir, it's the obelisk student Peterson verses the slifer who beat Dr Crowler in the entrance exams, Jaden Yuki."

Satyr stopped what he was doing and faced Dmitri with mild curiosity etched on his face.

"Is that true, the new student that defeated Vellian in the entrance exams is participating in a live duel?"

"Yes professor" Dmitri replied. "We found out from a message we received in our dorm link."

Satyr pondered for a moment and looked back at the timetables on his desk. Maybe he could a break for now.

"Well then" he then said and stood up. "Let us watch this duel, it should be educational."

Obelisk Blue Boy's Dorm

Troy and Bratt where the first to reach their dorms lounge, ahead of a large number of the dorms residence as when word reached their ears that one of their own is going to duel the slifer who beat Crowler live. It was something no blue student will want to miss.

"Where the fuck is the remote! And don't take the best seats!"

Obelisk Blue Girls Dorm, Mindy's Room

"Wow Lex, you are going to knock them dead" Jasmine said as she examined a dress that is one of a few that she chose to compare.

"I agree, you are absolutely gorgeous" Mindy agreed as she was already in her dress and was just spectating both Alexis and Jasmine. Alexis looked at her reflection as she examined her dress, she was wearing a sleaved red silk leg dress that fit her form nicely. It did show cleavage but then again so did most dresses and she was not one to find it annoying, unless it was a size to small that is.

"I don't know why but red suits me" she said as she turned to examine the back. "It matches well with my hair."

"That is true! You really are the complete hottie, hottie" Mindy teased, and Alexis sent a friendly glare her way. "Though not as hot as how Jasmine is going" Mindy teased further, this time at Jasmine's expense. This is due to that as Jasmine is overlooking a few dresses, wondering which one to wear for the welcoming dinner. She did so quite exposed with her only wearing silk leg length stocking and underwear with nothing covering her top.

"Shut up! I am not going half-dressed and since you are doing nothing Mindy. Why don't you help me pick one out! I mean how many dresses did you bring?"

"What? Girl must stay in the trend, ooh why not that emerald one right there. It matches your eyes" Mindy stated as she pointed out an emerald-coloured dress that was the same style as the one Alexis is wearing.

"My eyes are grey, not emerald your numpty."

A knock on the door gained their attention but Mindy quickly ignored it as she focused on helping Jasmine get a dress.

"Hey Lex, could you get that" she said as prepped the said emerald dress.

"Sure" Alexis replied and headed to the door. Just as she reached for the handle, she heard Jasmin give of a girly cry. Turning to see what is wrong, she saw that Jasmine is covering her breasts with her hands and is eyeing the door suspiciously. "Relax, we are in the girl's dorm" she giggled out as despite Jasmine's tough girl persona, she is still a girl deep down.

"Don't care!"

Alexis could only roll her eyes and opened the door. Revealed to her was a fellow obelisk blue student but was shorter than her with short cut hair.

"So, this is where you are" the girl said. "I knocked on your door, but you didn't answer."

"Oh, hey Sara, what's up?" Alexis as she let her enter the room, much to Mindy's annoyance when she noticed.

"Lex, I said get the door, not let people in."

"Ignore her" Alexis stated, ignoring Mindy in the process. "So, what is it?"

The girl, Sara took a quick look at the other two before addressing Alexis.

"Huh? You haven't read the message in the dorm link?"

Alexis then realised that she left her PDA in her room and therefore was not aware of what has occurred.

"Sorry no, I don't have my PDA on me" she replied and looked to both Jasmine and Mindy. "What about you two?"

"Mine's in my room" Jasmine answered as she began to put on the dress.

"Mine's turned off" Mindy cut in.

Sara sighed in response.

"Well, it has the academy in a stir, I think. You know that slifer who humiliated Dr Crowler?"

Alexis immediately became concerned as she realised that Sara was talking about Jaden and if the academy is in an issue with it then it cannot be good.

"What about him?"

"Well apparently he is going to be in a live duel against Gregory Peterson and it is going to be broadcasted throughout the academy" Sara explained, and Alexis was no longer concerned as a result. She was now shocked to the core, especially due to who Jaden will be duelling against.

"Gregory? Jaden is going to be duelling Gregory!?" she cried out, stopping both Mindy and Jasmine in their tracks and surprising Sara.

"Wait, you know the slifer?"

"Well, we all do" Jasmine interjected whereas Mindy was confused and looked between the three of them.

"Sorry but who is Jaden again?" she asked causing both Alexis and Jasmine to do a half-way anime fall.

"Are you kidding me right now? You know who he is!" Alexis told Mindy but the latter was still confused. "Oh, don't make me say it" she then pleaded but it was clear that she will have to. "You graded him 'D'".

"Oh, him" Mindy remembered finally, causing both her friends to feel embarrassed. "So, what has he done exactly?"

"More like what he has gotten himself into" Alexis began to explain. "Gregory Peterson is not one of the top duellists, he is good, but he is also a bully who targets weaker duellists. Mostly those from the Slifer Red Dorm. He loves crushing them and belittling them as a result so for him to be called a duellist is pretty shameful." She explained further and looks to Sara. "And it's going to be a live duel?"

"Yeah, second floor arena so channel twelve I think, I'm going to watch it from my room myself and I think it's about to start" Sara replied and then turned away from the door. "See you later at the dinner."

Alexis did not waste any time as she closed the door and rushed to the rooms couch, looking around the nearby table.

"Mindy, where is the remote?"

Obelisk Blue Girls Dorm, Top Floor Accommodation

"So, there is going to be a live duel and its between that self-centred fool Peterson and Jaden Yuki?" Zara asked as she stood in the shower, rinsing the shampoo out of her hair as Nora waited outside the rooms on-suite bathroom.

"Yes ma'am. It seems that it started in the academy card shop and when Peterson found out who he was, he confronted him only to be met with some unexpected resistance from slifer."

Zara continued as she was doing, rinsing out the remaining traces out of her hair before reaching for the shower dial.

"It matters little to me, like I care about two third rate duellists having a match" she then declared and turned the shower off. As she stepped out, Nora entered the room with a gown and proceeded to put it on the academy high queen. "Feel free to take note if you want though. Watching others duel is what you tend to do anyway."

"Yes ma'am."

Duel Academy 2nd Floor Arena

Jaden waited patiently as his challenger's mates finished what they were doing but he was eager to start as he really wanted to duel. Coming to the store clearly was a good decision as he didn't need to wait for a duel. The obelisks were taking their time though and he had just re-shuffled his deck for the second time.

"Hey, Peterson is it? I don't mean to rush but can we get started soon?" he asked out of the blue, making the obelisk student a little ticked off.

"Stop nagging slifer, we start when we start!" Peterson bellowed, becoming annoyed with the nagging. "What is up with this slifer? Does he want to be humiliated that badly or something?"

"Greg!" the girl, Chrissie called out. "We will be going live in thirty seconds so get ready hun!"

"Thanks babe!"

Hearing that the duel is going to start soon, Jaden finalised his prep and felt excited.

"Well its about time, finally I can get my…wait why is she holding a mic?" Jaden thought and noticed the girl who came with them step onto the duel field with a mic in her hand.

"Okay pro's and loser's we are live in three…two…one!" an obelisk from the upper railing called out and if it were rehearsed, the girl began speaking into the mic.

"What's up Duel Academy! Mic Queen Chrissie coming to you live from Duel Arena Three…"

Jaden watched in stunned silence as he watched the sight before him.

"Okay so it's going to be this kind of duel."

Slifer Red Dorm

"We have one hell of a show for you today as we students of the Obelisk Blue Dorm's are going to find out if a certain individual is really as good as he appears to be or he is nothing more but a runt who just got lucky like the rest of the dregs here in the academy…"

Groans and murmurs of disappointment came out of each slifer student present as the watched the screen. Chumley however was annoyed and crossed his arms as glared at the screen, clearly angered by the girl's words whereas Syrus was worried, unsure of what is going to happen.

Ra Yellow Dorm

"I should mention is that the individual in question is also the same runt who somehow managed to best the academies top tutor of duelling techniques and dorm head of the Obelisk Blue Boys Dorm, Dr Crowler. And with some good fortune, we managed to corner the punk and now we will see the truth revealed when his opponent crushes him for good…"

The Ra students watched patiently as they kept their comments to themselves as Satyr watched in equal silence.

Obelisk Blue Boys Dorm

"Now for the duellists themselves, to my left is the upcoming man of the hour. The one the academy has called the Iron wall. Whose duel method that has crushed the incompetent and put the loser's in their place. The literal big guy of the Obelisk Blue Boy's Dorm, Gregory Peterson!"

The room went ballistic, it was as if they were at a football match and are cheering hard with both Troy and Bratt cheering the loudest.

Obelisk Blue Girls Dorm, Mindy's Room

"And to my right is the slacker himself…whatever his name is but no one cares!"

"It's Jaden."

"Yeah sure, Jason whatever!"

Alexis scoffed at Chrissie's attitude as she watches the screen with Jasmine and Mindy taking it in.

"She sounds like a bitch" Jasmine commented.

"She is!" was all Alexis said as kept her eyes on the screen.

Obelisk Blue Girls Dorm, Jade's Room

Jade now no longer in call with her cousin watched the live duel and kept her focus on Jaden.

"Let's see this other deck slifer, you better have it one you."

Crowler's Office

Crowler watched with glee as the duel was about to start.

"I cannot wait to see that slifer slacker's face when he loses!" he cried out aloud to himself and began laughing in the process.

Duel Academy 2nd Floor Arena

"Now then, who wants to go first?" Chrissie asked as she looked to both Peterson and Jaden but before Jaden could say a word, she just went ahead and decided for herself. "Oh, who am I kidding, we all know the real duellist goes first. Your first Gregory!"

Peterson felt smug about it as since he is going to go first, he will have an advantage but then again, he always goes first.

"Ready slacker?" he mocked but Jaden was having none of it.

"Are you?"

Peterson is once again irked by Jaden's attitude, but it also made the feeling of crushing him all the sweeter. "Let's do this."

"Let's Duel!" they both cried out at once and the duel began.

Jaden Yuki: 4000LP

Gregory Peterson: 4000LP

"Now then!" Peterson declared and drew a card. "First, I use the spell card, Cost Down! Now listen up slacker, by discarding one card from my hand. All monster cards in my hand and on my side of the field lose two levels. Next, I place a monster face down and set two face downs."

Three holographic images appeared of face down cards, two at the back and one in front.

"And that's my turn!"

Jaden looked at the field carefully and eyed Petersons face-downs with interest.

"He used Cost Down to decrease his monsters level by two so that means what he brought out is a monster that would require a sacrifice to bring out. There are also those two face downs and I bet one of them is a trap, unless they both are" he thought as he drew his card. "Alright then" he announced and looked at his hand. "I need to know what that face down is and luckily I think I have the cards to do it" he surmised and took two cards from his hand. "First, I summon, Elemental Hero Wildheart in attack mode!"

Elemental Hero Wildheart Lv4

ATK/ 1500 DEF/ 1600

A muscular looking tribal warrior then appeared on his side of the field, ready to attack. The summoning of Jaden's monster however brought out a small effect out of Peterson as he eyed the monster in confusion.

"Funny, I was told he beat Crowler with a machine deck. What is he trying to pull?" he wondered as Jaden continued his turn.

"Next, I equip him with the equip spell, Cyclone Boomerang! This card can only be used by Wildheart and it gives him a well needed boost by increasing his attack points by five hundred!"

Elemental Hero Wildheart Lv4

ATK/ 1500 - 2000 DEF/ 1600

"He also has a sweet effect, Wildheart here cannot be affect by trap cards" Jaden also announced, earning some acknowledgment from the audience, particularly from the slifer's as they were expecting a bad start but instead, they saw could be the opposite.

"Now to find out what you have as a face down so go Wildheart, take on his face down!"

Wildheart gave a battle cry and leapt forward, brandishing the boomerang as he brought it down on the face down but once it impacted. There was a flash and Wildheart was thrown back.

"Ha, nice try but that attack was far too weak, behold!" Peterson yelled as his face down monster is revealed and as it did so, Jaden heard the slifer students from behind groan as if they knew what was coming. "My Millennium Shield!"

A golden shield bearing an Egyptian-styled eye took to the field.

Millennium Shield Lv5

ATK/ 0 DEF/ 3000

"Uh oh" Jaden could only say as he sees the monsters defence points.

"And thanks to that pathetic attack, you lose a thousand life points, and I didn't need to do anything!" Peterson gloated as Jaden's life points dropped.

Jaden Yuki: 4000LP – 3000LP

Jaden took a deep breath and continued his turn.

"I end my turn with two face downs" he announced as two new face down cards appeared on the field. "And I'll end it there."

Arena Stands

Bastian watched quietly as Jaden finished his turn and analysed the current situation.

"Jaden seems to have put himself into a bit of bother. In his first turn he managed to lose a thousand life points though if it were not for Cyclone Boomerang, he could have lost a lot worse. But it still was a good play on his part, especially with Wildhearts effect that will prevent any trap from affecting him. Now I wonder his opponent will do now?"

The Duel

"My draw" Peterson declared and looked to see what he drew, a grin appeared as he liked what he got. "Well, it looks like I got another Cost Down, and I intend to use it, so you know what that means" he says as he activates the spell card. "I discard a card from my hand and my monsters both in my hand and field again lose two levels. Now, I will summon another Millennium Shield in defence mode!"

"Another one?" Jaden questioned as another Millennium Shield appeared on Peterson's side of the field.

Millennium Shield Lv5 - 3

ATK/ 0 DEF/ 3000

"Next, I activate one of my face down's, the Shallow Grave. What this card does is allows us to summon one monster from our respected graveyards and onto the field face down and in defence mode. Unfortunately for you, you do not have any cards in the graveyard whereas I have two. So now I have three cards on the field!"

A new facedown appears on the field and Jaden could only wonder what it could be.

"Next I set another face down to replace the spell card I used, and I end my turn."

Slifer Red Dorm

"Oh man that is not good" Syrus said as he watches Peterson end his turn with three monsters on the field and the third in unknown.

"Totally not licious" Chumley agreed. "But that is what you get with Peterson."

Banner and the rest of the dorm watched in silence as they became anxious of what might come next.

Obelisk Blue Girls Dorm

Nurse Fontaine had just entered the building main lounge and managed to catch the end of the duel; she did not even know what was happening until she got a chance to check her PDA. The students in the lounge where already discussing what they were watching and mostly it was negative towards Jaden.

"That slifer really should have kept his nose to himself. There is no way he is going to get out of this one" Fontaine heard one of them say and became annoyed as for this to be broadcasted they needed the permission from a teacher and not just any teacher. It had to be from either the Obelisk Blue dorm heads or the Chancellor himself, and she did not see the Chancellor agreeing to a live duel broadcast before the start of the year.

"What are you playing at Vellian and why hasn't the Chancellor intervened, surely he must know of this too?"

Obelisk Blue Girls Dorm, Jade's Room

Jade narrowed her eyes as the duel progressed. It started badly for Jaden and now it has become worse to the point she doubted he would find a way out. He started good she had to admit, and he is using the deck that he claims to be his personal deck but now the situation is grim.

"Well Jaden, what are you going to do now?" she thought and did not even care that she used his first name.

The Duel

Jaden eyed Peterson's latest face down, with a suspicion that it is another monster with a powerful defence and as he drew a new card from his deck. He saw that he did not have the means to get past Peterson's defences yet.

"Jaden how are you doing?" he heard Yubel's voice speak to him from within his deck.

"I am okay for now. What about you?" he replied and heard a groan.

"Pissed, I am the fifth card from the bottom! Sorry but I won't be of much help this duel" Yubel answered sadly.

"Don't worry, you will get your chance" Jaden assured her and returned to the duel. "Alright, I am going to summon, Elemental Avian in defence mode."

Elemental Hero Avian Lv4

ATK/ 1000 DEF/ 1000

A green feathered man with wings appeared on the field in a crouched position and arms folded.

"I then set Wildheart into defence as well and end my turn."

Peterson chuckled harshly as Jaden ended his turn with a new monster on the field and no new face-downs, it was the same with the others. They always ended their second turn quickly and after setting another monster onto the field in defence mode.

"Well, this is typical, it's like you're not even trying" he informed Jaden as he drew his card. "Now let us get on with it. I summon Zombyra the Dark in attack mode."

Zombyra the Dark Lv4

ATK/ 2100 DEF/ 500

"But that's not all, I…"

"Sorry but I have to interrupt you there" Jaden interrupted. "I activate my trap, Compulsory Evacuation Device. This trap allows me to choose one monster and send it back to their owners hand and I pick that Zombrya you just summoned."

Peterson grunted as he took Zombrya of the field and back to his hand, but he was not done.

"You finished because I am still getting started. I flip my face down card into attack mode!"

His face down card activated and the third monster is revealed and to the surprise of both Jaden and Bastian. It was another Millennium Shield.

Millennium Shield Lv5

ATK/ 0 DEF/ 3000

"He has a third shield, now that is what I can call hard defence but…" Jaden thought yet something was not right. "Err, you do realise that by doing that, you have made you third and last shield vulnerable. It has no attack points."

"Not for long it doesn't" Peterson revealed, and Jaden heard noises from behind him. Turning to find out what it was, he is surprised to see that the slifer students that are in the stands have begun to make their way towards the exit.

"Huh? Hey, where are you guys going?" he asked as the slifers exited the stands.

"There is no point watching the rest of the duel, we know how its going to end" one of them replied, not stopping what he was doing and did not even look back but before they reached the exit. One of the obelisk students blocked their path and Peterson began to make a tut sound.

"As much as I understand the reason slifer's, I cannot have you leave. You are going to watch another of your dorm's useless duellists get squashed by me" he said to them and returned to the duel. "Because now I activate this spell card, Weapon Change. Heard of it slifer?"

Jaden witnessing the spell card's activation knew exactly what it was.

"Yes, I have heard of it and I can tell what you are going to use it for. You are going to attach it to your third shield so that its defence points become its attack points" he answered and explained the spell card for good measure which stunned Peterson and the other obelisks.

"Yes, exactly that. I'm actually impressed" Peterson called out, making everyone present curious and listening curious at his statement. "You must be the first slifer I have met that somehow knows his cards so that makes me want to spare you the humiliation of defeat…just a teeny tiny bit."

The obelisks present began to laugh as they know full well that Peterson never meant a single word, even the slifer students knew that and they remained resigned to the fact that Jaden is going to lose no matter what. So, it was not much of a surprise as when they all looked to Jaden, they were stunned to see that he hadn't even flinched or appear to be worried. In fact, Jaden remained confident and yet slightly annoyed, and that was lost on Peterson who joined in on the laughing.

Obelisk Blue Girls Dorm, Mindy's Room

"Wow, he sure does know how to have a poker face" Mindy commented as the camera made a close-up on Jaden's face.

"That's pretty obvious" Jasmine also commented.

Alexis however remained silent and was in no short of words, confused. At the beginning of the duel, it seemed that Jaden was giving off the feeling that he was going to enjoy it but now. He was giving off an entirely different feeling, like he was not enjoying it at all and is more serious.

"Well, this is interesting" she thought to herself as she continued to watch the duel.

The Duel

The sight of the slifers being kept in the duel arena and that they already believe that Jaden was going to lose concerned him greatly. To Jaden, duelling was about having fun and such but here he was, duelling someone who seemed to have destroyed that notion.

"Where was I" Peterson finally said after what felt like minutes of the duel wasted. "Oh yes, Weapons Change and now my third shield is zero defence points but now has a whopping three thousand attack points."

Millennium Shield Lv5

ATK/ 0 - 3000 DEF/ 3000 – 0

"And I think I will destroy, your primitive hero. Go shield and sent that caveman back to the stone age!"

The Millennium Shield began to glow and then a beam shot from its eye and hit Wildman square in the face, causing him to explode as a result.

"Sorry, was I not meant to do that?" Peterson laughed in Jaden's direction.

Jaden didn't reply and looked to his field, with Wildheart gone all he had is Clayman. But he also lost Cyclone Boomerang as well, if only Peterson had destroyed Wildheart with a card effect then he could have used Boomerang's second ability and deal damage to Peterson's life points by destroying all spell and trap cards on the field, including his Weapons Change and deal a hundred points of damage for each card which will be four hundred points of damage to Peterson's life points. Still with that no longer on the table he gets to keep his two face downs and he intends to use both.

"I play a trap card, Reckless Greed. Thanks to this card I get to draw two new cards, at the expense of skipping my next two draw phases."

Peterson just watched as Jaden took his two cards and sent his remaining trap card to the graveyard.

"Is that it?" he asked but Jaden shook his head.

"Pretty much yeah" Jaden replied, looking at the two cards he drew, both he really needed.

"Well, I end my turn anyway as there is nothing left for me to do but watch you squirm so get squirming."

Jaden looked to the three cards and grinned for they were exactly what he needed and combined what he had left in his hand, he will bring the duel to a close real soon.

"Someone's happy" Yubel pointed out from the deck.

"Yeah, I am, by the way where is Kuriboh?"

A chirp came from the deck and Jaden heard Yubel scoff.

"He is a few cards above me, lucky sod!"

Jaden chuckled quietly and prepared to move. "Don't worry, you both can get of the deck once I win." He told them and began his turn.

"I activate the spell card, Pot of Greed. I can now get two new cards" he announced and drew two new cards, his face grew into a grin as these two are also just what he needed. "Next, I activate the spell card, Polymerisation. With this card I can fuse two or more monsters to create a new one and that is what I am going to do. I fuse Elemental Hero Avian on my field with Burstinatrix who is in my hand to fusion summon, Elemental Hero Flame Wingman!"

Elemental Hero Flame Wingman Lv6

ATK/ 2100 DEF/ 1200

A large, singled-winged humanoid with a dragon's head for right arm appeared on the field in place of Avian and the sight of him made everyone look in awe.

Arena Stands

Bastian looked at the scene and became impressed as being well-versed in many monster cards, he knows well what Flame Wingman is capable of.

"Excellent form Jaden but what will you do now, especially against that Millennium Shield?"

The Duel

"Next I activate the field spell card, Skyscraper" Jaden then announced and with a second. Skyscraper like buildings began to appear around the arena, startling Peterson and the others. "Now Flame Wingman, attack his third Millennium Shield!"

"What! Are mad or stupid? Have you forgotten that my Shield has three thousand attack points, and this silly excuse of a field spell hasn't done a damn thing!" Peterson yelled at Jaden, both surprised and confused at Jaden's method but his opponent shook his head.

"I haven't forgotten, it's just that Skyscraper's ability activates only when I make an attack with an elemental hero. You see if the opposing monster has more attack points then mine then Skyscraper allows me to gain an additional attack strength of one thousand" Jaden revealed and true to his word, Flame Wingman powered up as it continued its attack.

Elemental Hero Flame Wingman Lv6

ATK/ 2100 - 3100 DEF/ 1200

"Thirty-one thousand attack points!" Peterson cried out.

"Exactly, Now Flame Wingman do you're your thing! With Skydive Scorcher!"

The Flame Wingman jumped into the air and then fell back down like a fiery comet, right on top of the targeted Millennium Shield. Causing it to crack and break apart in a satisfying way as the pieced turned into dust.

Gregory Peterson: 4000LP – 3900LP

Peterson growled as he saw his life points by a hundred, it angered him greatly as no slifer has ever made him take damage to his life points. The Slifers themselves were amazed, just before they were accepting the fact that Jaden would lose as every other slifer student but now they had just seen Peterson take damage. Even the Obelisks were stunned as they were rooted to the spot as Peterson just gritted his teeth.

"You are going to regret that slacker" he put forward. "It's my turn now?"

"Not exactly because since I destroyed your monster. Flame Wingman's special ability activates for you see when he destroys a monster, you take damage equal to the destroyed monsters attack points."

Peterson blinked a few times then his features changed from anger to pure utter, unbridled shock as he life points changed again and this time, by a huge margin.

Gregory Peterson: 3900LP – 900LP

Slifer Red Dorm

"What the actual…" a slifer screamed as the rest began roaring in absolute awe as they just watched a sight that was unbelievable to be true. For the first time since they were told that no student from the Slifer Red Dorm had lasted long against the other dorms or at least done any damage to life point. Here was someone who just kicked that truth out the window and into the sea. Both Chumley, Banner and even the cat Pharaoh were shocked as evident by the gaping mouths they had on their faces. Syrus could no longer watch the duel as he now witnessed the victory fuelled frenzy that was happening at the dorm.

"Jaden is going to be attacked by his new fans once he enters the door."

Obelisk Blue Boys Dorm

To say that jaws were hitting the ground was an understatement, Bratt and Troy chief amongst them as the duel on screen took a turn they did not expect.

"Did that just really happen?" one of the obelisks asked.

"I think it just did" another replied. "So, what is Gregory going to do now?"

Obelisk Blue Girls Dorm, Mindy's Room

"Whoohoo!" Mindy exclaimed as she watched the duel and was excited about it. "He may not be in the looks department, but he definitely knows how to duel!"

Both Alexis and Jasmine were too into the duel to reply as Jasmine was impressed whereas Alexis was stumped.

"Hello…Mindy to duo…a reply please!"

The two girls slowly but gradually recovered from their state and Jasmine was the first to acknowledge Mindy's statement.

"Yeah, I mean he just got out from a bad situation and delivered a comeback. What do you think Lex? You think he will win?" Jasmine inquired, equally excited as she watched the screen.

"Slow down you two, you forget that Jaden played Reckless Greed, he may have found a loophole with Pot of Greed in the specified first turn since that trap was played but he now has to face the second turn with no means to draw a fresh card."

The two girls did not reply and continued to watch, completely drawn into the screen as Alexis crossed her arms and waited to see what happens next.

Obelisk Blue Girls Dorm, Jade's Room

Blinking a few times, Jade quietly watched as she analysed the duel and took note of Jaden's move.

"He brought that smug idiot's life points down by using that Flame Wingman. Guess he wasn't exaggerating about that card after all." she pondered and leaned back on the couch. "I wonder if he really will win."

Crowler's Office

To say that Crowler was beside himself would be an understatement in two areas, first he was ecstatic when Peterson did his thing but when Jaden turned the tables, his jaw dropped. Crowler was very much on the edge of his seat as he shook with anger.

"Peterson, you better correct this or so help me I will…" he yelled to no one but stopped halfway when the door to his office opened. "Excuse me but don't you know how to kno…ah…ah!"

Chancellor Sheppard walked in as approached the desk as Crowler began to gulp.

"Crowler, what's this I hear about a broadcasted match?"

The Duel

Jaden smiled at the result; he didn't need to look behind him, but he can tell that the slifer students where no longer down as each one is gawking at the duel field. The Obelisks were also gawking, Chrissie even more so as she saw her man's life points drop a ton. She was breathing rapidly as she was internally freaking out from what she had witnessed. Peterson on the other hand remained in shock as he stares at the life point counter on his duel disk. It felt like time had frozen as his mind tried to work out what exactly just happened.

"Er…hello, hey you ok over there. You still in the duel" Jaden called out as he wondered what was taking so long.

Peterson slowly looked from his duel disk and stared at the slifer before him who just looks at him as if he was doing nothing. The shock in him is slowly but surely being replaced by irritation and then to anger and finally seething rage. He gritted his teeth so hard that they could crack under the pressure as he glared.

"Still in the duel? Still in the duel? Of course, I am still in this fucking duel!" he bellowed, catching both Jaden and everyone else off guard. "Do you think that you are going to get away with that stunt you worthless slacker!"

Jaden was quite surprised to hear the outburst and paused for a moment before replying.

"Er…yes?"

Peterson growled furiously as he grabbed a card from his deck.

"Really, well it's my turn and I am going to do something about that, you remember this guy?" he announced, and a familiar monster emerged on his side of the field.

"Oh yeah him" Jaden answered as Zombyra the Dark finished materialising on the field.

Zombyra the Dark Lv4

ATK/ 2100 DEF/ 500

"Well, he won't be staying for long as I am going to use him to destroy that winged freak of yours since they have the same attack points, and I don't have to worry about that fucking spell card as I am pretty sure that it only activates when you are the one attacking!" Peterson revealed and pointed at Flame Wingman in a way that one would do if pointing an attack dog to a target.

"You know you don't have to swear right, it's only a duel you know?"

Almost immediately, everyone stood still, and Peterson began to shake.

"Only a duel you say…only a duel?"

Jaden gulped, ensure what was happening but felt like he may have said the wrong thing at the wrong time. He could sense both Yubel and Kuriboh's concern as they both appeared at his side, remaining transparent, as they looked to the seething opponent.

"Jaden what exactly did you do?" Yubel asked.

"I have no idea" Jaden replied as Peterson finally lost it.

"Where the fuck do you think you are at slifer! Here in duel academy, duelling is everything. It is not something to be casual at and if you think that its only just a duel then you really have no god damn right to be here you worthless piece of shit. I am ending this duel, now go Zombyra! Get rid of that fucking birdman!"

Zombrya leapt forward and punched Flame Wingman squarely in the face, resulting in two simultainious explosions and creating smoke. Jaden braced himself and looked to where his monster once was when the smoke finally cleared. His elemental hero was destroyed but fortunately so was Zombrya but that didn't change the fact that Peterson still had two other monsters on the field, both with high defence points.

"Jaden, I don't want to be the bearer of bad news, but you are not in a good spot right now!" Yubel informed him. "Especially since you cannot draw a card next turn!"

Jaden looked to the last two remaining cards in his hand, fortunately he has a monster with a decent defence that he can play but the other card is not what he needed as he couldn't activate its effect due to the situation but can be used as a bluff to buy time.

"I am alright Yubel, I got this" he assured her and returned to the duel. "Hey Peterson, I am going to win the duel within the next few turns so pay attention!"

His declaration of his impending victory stunned the audience and Peterson rage was replaced with confusion for a few seconds.

"The fuck did you just say?" he rasped, earning a sigh from Jaden.

"I said I will be winning this duel so pay attention, perhaps if you calmed down a bit you would have heard me the first time."

Peterson was not sure if Jaden was either bluffing or stalling but what he had just said is completely ridiculous and is somewhat laughable.

"I don't think you get it; I have two millennium shields on my side of the field, both with three thousand defence points and you have nothing, absolutely nothing!" the obelisk yelled out and pointed to Jaden's side of the field to prove his point as Jaden's monster card and speel/trap card zones are empty save for the field spell zone. However, Jaden calmly lifted his free hand and showed the arena that he still has two cards to play. Peterson spotted them quickly and instantly disregarded them.

"You really think that you can win with just two cards?"

"I don't think, I know."

Peterson growled annoyingly as his anger remained steady.

"Do your turn already!"

Jaden looked to his hand and glanced at his deck.

"Hope this will hold me until my next turn" he thought and begun to make his move. "Alright here goes! First I summon Elemental Clayman in defence mode."

A solid looking monster appeared on the field and instantly went into kneeling position and arms folded.

"Next I place a card face down and call it a turn."

The atmosphere of the arena was quiet, the group of slifers were glued to their seats whereas the obelisk students waited to see the outcome they automatically believed that was coming from the very start. In fact, everyone who was watching, from those who at present at the arena and those who were watching the broadcast were silent. Peterson said nothing as he drew a card from his deck and looked at it, he did not even bother to show a grin or anything. All he wanted was to make the slacker regret ever picking up a deck.

"My turn, first I sacrifice one of my Millennium Shields" he announced, and his second shield began to glow. "I sacrifice it in order to summon my Millennium Scorpion in attack mode!"

Millennium Scorpion Lv5

ATK/ 2000 DEF/ 1800

The shield was then replaced with a large black and blue, armoured scorpion with gold rims edging the armoured carapace and a large gold eye on its head, the same one that was on the shields. It was not the prettiest sight as the mouth of the monster was creepy to look at as Yubel instantly reacted to it like she was looking at cringe.

"That's a millennium beast!? Its freaking ugly!" she cried out and looked away in disgust.

"I didn't know you were crept out by bugs?" Jaden asked, surprised by her outburst.

"Neither did I."

Peterson then grabbed Jaden's attention as he continued his move.

"Next I activate the spell card Stop Defence! What this does is allow me to choose an opponent's monster and if it is in defence mode. I switch it to attack mode so that clay freak is the monster I will choose."

Jaden gulped as he watched his monster change positions and stood up in attack mode.

"And now! Millennium Scorpion, attack his monster with ancient venom curse!" Peterson continued and his large scorpion lunges forward, gabbing Clayman with its pincers and stabbing him with a thrust of its tail. Clayman gave a gravely groan and exploded. Jaden groaned as his life points went down as a result.

Jaden Yuki: 3000LP – 1800LP

"Its not other yet slacker" Peterson called out to him. "You see my Millennium Scorpion has a special effect. Every time it sends a monster to the graveyard through battle, it gains five hundred additional attack points."

ATK/ 2000 - 2500 DEF/ 1800

Crowler's Office

Sheppard frowned as he watches the match on the desk monitor as Crowler sat in his chair, sweating nervously due to the fact his boss is in the same room as him.

"Good grief, what were you thinking Vellian? A broadcasted duel without my approval before the start of the first year and the conduct of your Obelisks are unacceptable. Do you allow such language to be spoken by your students?"

Crowler chuckled nervously as he fidgeted with his fingers.

"Of course, not Chancellor, it was most likely caused by the comment made by the slifer student about it being only a duel. Clearly, he does not understand what we are aiming to achieve at this academy and young Peterson took it to heart" he replied with a quick excuse. "Don't worry, I will have a stern word with him once the duel is over."

The Duel

Jaden looked to the field as Peterson's scorpion became more powerful as it silently stared at him, as if it were enjoying the wait until it strikes his life points. Peterson was still glaring but he now has a smug grin on his face.

"And for good mesure, I play a spell card, Mystical Space Typhoon. Now I can destroy either a spell or trap card on the field and I think I will get rid of that face down of yours!"

A huge gust of wind appeared and flipped Jadens face down up, revealing it to be O Oversoul, and destroying it in the process. Petersons laughed harshly and pointed a finger towards Jaden in a taunting manner.

"Well then slacker, still think you can win?"

Jaden looked to his face down card and smirked.

"Yeah, I still do actually."

The obelisk student's grin disappeared and folded his arms.

"Take your turn, it will be your last."

The smirk remained on his face as Jaden, now able to draw a card thanks to the effects of Reckless Greed no longer active, drew from his deck and he knew that it will be the last draw of the duel as once he sees what he drew, the duel is clearly over.

"Alright its time to end this duel" he announced, making the whole arena still for a few seconds. "First, I activate the spell card, Monster Reborn!"

A glow began to emit from both his and Peterson's graveyard sections on their respected duel disks. Peterson was unsure what was happening as he wondered what Jaden was planning, and he did not need to wait a second longer to find out.

"With this spell card, I can bring back a monster that was destroyed from either deck and I know which monster to pick. So, ladies and gentlemen, welcome back the one and only Elemental Flame Wingman!"

The audience watched as a familiar winged green monster with a dragon's head for an arm appear on Jaden's side of the field in attack position. Jaden clenched his hand in front of him as he could feel the end of the duel coming while Peterson changed his glare from Jaden to the Elemental Hero before him.

Elemental Hero Flame Wingman Lv6

ATK/ 2100 DEF/ 1200

Peterson once more began laughing and pointed at Jaden again, grinning gleefully as he did so.

"You goddamn slacker, have you forgotten that my monster is now stronger by four hundred points! Yeah, sure he could have bested my scorpion if you had him out earlier but all you did was waste a turn, how absolutely pathetic!"

"Oh, I'm not pathetic and I am ending this duel on this very turn so I wouldn't be happy right about now."

Peterson's face dropped into utter bemusement as he wondered why his opponent was so sure of it and why was the slifer slacker grinning. His cronies, bored and uninterested at Jaden's confidence, waited for Peterson to end it however it was Bastian and the other slifer students who were interested by Jaden's choice of words.

"You see Mr Iron Wall" Jaden continued, adding a little tone to Peterson's nickname as he did so. "You could have and definitely would have won this duel if only you weren't so obsessed with the duel and your opinions about and instead, well used duelling as it was meant to be, having fun. You would have been more aware and paid closer attention and not have made that mistake during your last turn."

A resounding huh came from Peterson mouth as he listened to every single word Jaden had just said and the last sentence puzzled him greatly.

"Mistake? What bloody mistake?" he demanded to know, earning a chuckle from Jaden in response.

"You destroyed the wrong spell card."

"What!?" Peterson yelled out, positive that he heard right and thought that Jaden was being daft. "What do you mean I destroyed the wrong spell card? You only had the ruddy one and now there are none in your field and trap card zones so what are you yapping about?"

Everyone in the arena was thinking the exact same thing except for Bastian as unlike everyone else as they were too focussed on the life points and the vocal aspects, he focussed on the field and knew exactly what Jaden meant. As for Jaden, he tilted his duel disk slightly and with his free hand, tapped on the right most tip of it.

"True, there are no more spell cards in my spell and trap card zone as you pointed out but…" he replied and trailed off as he tapped the tip of his duel disk again. "The field spell card zone is a completely different matter."

The obelisk eyed Jaden's actions closely, at first unsure what he was talking about, but it slowly began to dawn on him as his features slackened and his eyes went wide as he remembered exactly what spell card is in that field spell zone. And the effect it has on Jaden's monsters and sure enough as he realised it, the familiar holographic skyscrapers reappeared around them.

"From the look on your face, I'd say you remember what I have there and also what it can do" Jaden inquired as Petersons arms began to tremble and sweat appeared on his face. His mouth hung open in a gasp that was silent and everlasting as Jaden continued his turn with Flame Wingman getting its power boost.

Elemental Hero Flame Wingman Lv6

ATK/ 2100 - 3100 DEF/ 1200

"Now then, Elemental Hero Flame Wingman, prepare to take down his oversized scorpion with Skydive Scorcher!"

Once more, the Flame Wingman jumped up into the air and came crashing down upon Peterson's Millennium Scorpion. Landing right into the eyepiece on its head, smashing it completely before the scorpion itself let out an insect like shriek before exploding.

Gregory Peterson: 900LP – 600LP

Peterson began to feel his legs losing strength as he watched his monster become dust and his life points deplete further.

"Don't forget about Wingman's special ability" he heard Jaden call out and as he did, he sees the numbers go down further as he remembers the special ability the slifer was taking about. His monsters attack points will now come out of his life points.

Gregory Peterson: 600LP – 0LP

"And that's game" Jaden finished off as the holographic projections of both the monsters and the field turned off. The arena was silent, no one dared to say a word, Chrissie was in complete shock that she did not see Bastian calmly take the mic out off her hands and brought it up.

"Ahem, well that concludes the duel and the winner is Jaden Yuki of the Slifer Red dorm" he announced into the mic. "Don't forget to breath."

By the time Jaden has stepped down from the arena, the group of present slifer red students sprung to life, ran down the stands steps and jumped upon the victor with cries of jubilation and shocked amazement. Jaden himself however cried out in terror as the small red clothed mob landed on top of him in a massive dog pile. The sight greatly amused Bastian who could only chuckle whereas the obelisk blues where still stunned and silent.

Slifer Red Dorm

Banner could only cover his ears as the hall of the dorm was erupting in noise and cries, each slifer student was going crazy at what they had just watched so the point that one was doing weird movements. (Authors Note: How weird you ask reader, that one guy from Avatar the last airbender, the one who foamed at the mouth, that weird). Both Chumley and Syrus are among the ecstatic crowd as they made all kinds of noises from woo-whooing to obelisk blue mocking.

"Well, it's a good thing there is going to be extra's for this meal" Banner said to himself as he headed back to the kitchen. "These students are working themselves an appetite."

Ra Yellow Dorm

Curious and intrigued gossip sounded throughout the dorm as Satyr rubbed his chin, listening in to his students talking about the duel. Some were impressed with the slifer's ability and some just mocking Peterson for not trying hard enough.

"Hmm, I wonder if he has that much energy in the classroom?" he thought to himself as he made his way back to his office.

Obelisk Blue Boys Dorm

Not one word was said as every single obelisk student was in absolute defeat and were very disturbed. Many didn't know what to think, especially Troy and Bratt who were agape as they stared at the screen before them.

"Did that just happen?" someone managed to cough out, but no one answered.

Obelisk Blue Girls Dorm

Fontaine gasped in surprise from the result as the whole dorm around her became abuzz with chatter.

"Wow, that slifer actually took down Peterson?"

"Yeah, seems so."

"No way Dr Crowler's going to like this."

"I wouldn't want to be Chrissie right now. I mean who want to be the girlfriend of the guy who got beat by a slifer of all people."

The dorm's head listened to every comment made and part of her was quite disappointed in them but on the other hand they are young and would grow out of it if they did and if it does not then perhaps Banner's student would do the same to them. That thought ended up lighting a bulb in her head as she headed off to her private room to get ready for the welcome dinner event. She also ended up wondering how Crowler is reacting to this.

Crowlers Office

Sheppard looked at the screen with a grin and folded his arms behind him.

"Well, it seems I was wrong, that was an excellent duel to start the academic year. Even if it is not the first day for the academic year" he said with a happy tone. "I trust however that you will have a word with that student of yours about his conduct and manners."

"Of course, chancellor, I will see to it at once. Glad to see you have enjoyed a duel" Crowler replied, with a grin also. He maintained the grin right until Sheppard had left the office and closed the door behind him. His face began to twitch as the grin disappeared into gritted teeth and he shook all other. "Fuck! Fuck! Fuck!"

Obelisk Blue Girls Dorm, Jade's Room

To say she was kind of impressed was an understatement as the screen went to static, clearly a sign that the broadcast was discontinued. Seeing Jaden duel with another deck, one she overheard him say is his personal and preferred deck and used it to beat and obelisk who though was not one of the best but was indeed one of the toughest. She made sure to spot every single detail as she watched Jaden duel though the comment about not taking duelling seriously was irritating to her as it apparently was to Peterson, but he maintained his cool whereas the big oaf did not. Her PDA began to ring, and she wasted no time in answering it.

"Yes."

"Did you see that?" the voice of her cousin cried out through the speakers. "That Slifer just beat Peterson, the very same Peterson who beats up slifers in the shop for crying out loud like it was nothing. Are we sure he really is a slifer or is he actually an obelisk in the wrong dorm?"

"Cousin calm down, yes, I saw it. Yes, he is a slifer and no I highly doubt the latter but he does have skill so maybe it wasn't a fluke with Crowler but I need to see for myself."

"What do you mean see for yourself?"

"I'll tell you later at the dinner ok, I got to go, need to make a call."

"Ok, see you there."

She heard her cousin end the call and began to scroll through her logbook, finding what she was looking for. Pressing the dial icon, she brought the PDA back to her ear she waited until the call was answered.

"Yeah?" the disappointed tone of Troy answered.

"I take it you have watched the duel?" Jade asked right off the bat.

"Yeah" Troy answered, and Jade could only think that he and Bratt where hyped at first to see Peterson duel Jaden but when Jaden won that duel, their expectation went down like a ton of bricks.

"Well, I have news that may cheer you up, I have decided that I will duel Jaden Yuki" she informed him and from the other end of the call, she hears the change in the mood.

"What, you will! When?"

"Tonight."

Obelisk Blue Girls Dorm, Mindy's Room

"Wow 'D' knows how to duel, he is pretty good" Mindy spoke as Jasmine turned the TV off just as the broadcast was cut off. "I genuinely thought he was going to blew it."

"Well, 'Jaden' did blew it, he blew his opponents monster into next week" Jasmine replied, enforcing Jaden's name as she did so in order to get Mindy to get his name right. "I don't know how things work here but that duel is going to be the main topic for the next few days."

Mindy just made a hmm sound before going back what she was doing before, getting Jasmine into a dress. "Maybe, now let's get your suited up unless you want your boobs showing all day."

Jasmine became aware that during the time she remained half naked and her face went red as a result.

"Just hand me that green dress you were talking about."

"It's emerald."

"Don't care!"

Alexis grinned as Jasmine began to put the said dress in a rush as Mindy interjected a few times to make sure it didn't get damaged in the process. Watching the broadcasted duel and seeing Jaden win brought a comforting thought of people like Peterson get taken down a notch. In fact, the only thing that made her grin was that Peterson was bested by a Slifer Red.

"I wonder what the reaction will be from the Red Dorm" she thought as Mindy and Jasmine continued fussing about the dress.

Obelisk Blue Girls Dorm, Top Floor Accommodation

"Well, that was unexpected" Nora commented as she put her PDA down.

"What is?"

"It seems that there is more to this Jaden Yuki then I personally thought." Nora replied. "Turns out his victory over Dr Crowler was more then just a fluke and he is actually the gifted duellist."

Zara said nothing at first as she looked at her reflection, the icy blue silk dress hugged her frame gently and showed off her figure beautifully. She was not one for occasions such as the welcoming dinner, but she might as well put some effort into it.

"I take it that Peterson was defeated?"

"Yes ma'am, rather humiliating in fact."

Nora watched as Zara walked away from the mirror and towards the vanity table. Zara gracefully sat down and grabbed a brush; she was about to begin with her hair when Nora appeared next to her.

"Should I have someone keep an eye on this one ma'am?"

Zara was about to reject the suggestion but stopped herself as she thought a bit more on it. The boy, Jaden Yuki is in the Slifer Red Dorm as her worthless brother but thinking back she remembered that he was with him on the boat at that one time in the restaurant part of the ship. As much as she wanted Syrus to disappear from the academy, having a friend like Jaden at his side would complicate matters. Especially if he convinces Syrus to stay and stop fearing her.

"Very well but not because he is good with his deck, besides, it was only a matter of time until someone bests that millennium shield strategy of his."

"Then why ma'am?"

"I want to know if he will be a thorn in my side in the ridding of my brother from the academy."

"Ah, I see. Very well I will make the arrangements."

Duel Academy 2nd Floor Arena

Dorothy grinned as she walked towards the red dog pile where the bottom most hand that was waving frantically had to belong to the duel's victor, she was followed by Sadie who was still unsure of what she had witnessed. A Ra Yellow student was at the pile already and was helping the winning Slifer getting out from under the pile.

"Seems like you have gained adoring fans, maybe this will even out your current reputation" the Ra spoke as the victor's head managed to emerge from the pile.

"Funny Bastian, real funny. Hey, can you guys get off me please, I'm starting to not feel my legs."

Chuckling to herself, Dorothy watched as the Ra student successfully pull the winner out of the pile just as the pile itself started to move, with the students involved getting themselves up.

"Excuse me" she called, catching their attention with some of the students recognising her.

"Oh, hey Dorothy" one of them called back. "Did you watch the duel?"

"Yes, I did, and I was very impressed."

Jaden first noticed that the uniform that the older woman was wearing is the exact same as the other he met in the shop, speaking of which he saw that she is present as well.

"I take it you work at the shop?" Jaden asked and gained a friendly smile in response.

"I don't just work at the shop, I run the shop" she replied. "And because of that, before you return to your dorm, I would like you to stop by."

As the conversation continued, Peterson remained slumped on the arena floor in a disbelieving stupor as the defeat he suffered continue to go on in his mind. He did not even notice Chrissie just up and leave the area, nor did he notice that some of his companions have begun to leave without a word to him. He did however hear the PDA in his pocket ring and like an automaton, he just reached in and grabbed it, brought it to his ear and answered.

"Peterson, my office now!" the voice of Crowler demanded through the speaker before cutting off as soon as it was answered.

Thirty Minutes Later

"And here you are" Dorothy beamed as she handed Jaden five card packs. "For beating that hooligan who causes no end of grief to students who visit my shop, two standard monster packs, two spell and trap packs and one top notch special pack as a thank you."

Jaden accepted the packs, usure why this was happening as all he did was beat someone in a duel but apparently it was more of a big thing then beating a jerk.

"Thanks, I don't know what to say" he said as Bastian stood at his side and the unintended fan club waited eagerly at the shop's entrance.

"Think nothing of it."

Sadie kept quiet, looking at the packs in the slifers hand and could not help thinking that he is getting eighty hundred and fifty points worth. To her it is a bit excessive, but Dorothy is the manager.

A chime was heard, emanating from Jaden's pocket, catching their attention. Without so much as a word, Jaden pulled out his PDA and looked at the screen.

"A text message?" he pondered aloud and clicked on it. His jaw dropped at the contents as he read the message, his actions caused curiosity from the others as they noticed his expression.

"I there something wrong?" Bastian asked and Jaden slowly lifted his head.

"It's a message from the chancellor, it seems he saw my duel…and he has awarded me an additional twenty-five hundred duel points!"

Dorothy gave a laugh while Sadie was flabbergasted.

"Another two-thousand and five hundred points? Are you kidding me" she exclaimed and as a result, became the centre of attention. "Doesn't anyone else think that's a bit excessive as that is a lot, I mean the highest amount of duel points you can get after a duel like that is five to six hundred. Not over two thousand!"

"Seems the duel impressed him enough to make an exception" Dorothy noted before turning back to Jaden. "Its best that you head back to your dorm now, the welcoming dinner will be starting soon. You too Sadie, its best you get back to your dorm as well."

Sadie looked at the time on her PDA and nodded in response, she didn't say another word as she hurried out of the store and disappear around the corner of the entrance. Bastian himself checked his PDA to confirm the time and in response, nudged Jaden's arm.

"She is right, I best head back and so do you and besides, I think the dinner at your dorm is going to be quite the event."

Jaden grimaced as he glanced back and sees the 'fan group' waiting for him and wondered what he would expect from when he gets there.

"I hope I don't get jumped again" was all he could say.

Forty minutes Later

The dorms main hall doors opened as Jaden peered in, much to his great regret.

"There he is!"

Before he could duck and cover, the occupants charged through the doorway as Jaden screamed thanks to the students involved giving him his second dog-pile as he felt the weight of them pile on top of him. The students who did not join in just cheered as Syrus failed to stifle his laughter at the sight with Chumley joining him in the endeavour. The last dorm occupant to join the pile was the cat Pharaoh who simply jumped on to the top of the student pile and purred loudly as he made himself comfortable. Banner glanced through the doorway and sighed.

"Well, looks like Pharaoh is keeping an eye on things here. I'll just head back to the kitchen."

Meanwhile, Jaden had managed to get his head out from under the pile and gasp for air.

"Can you please all get off me, I don't want to spend my first night in a hospital bed!" he cried, earning more laughter in the process.

It took a while to get everyone off him, many were still laughing, and some were nervously apologetic as Jaden brushed himself down, earning a few little dust clouds. He glanced upwards to see his two duel spirit colleagues grinning at him, well Kuriboh could be grinning though it was difficult to tell due to that he has no mouth to be seen.

"Thanks for having my back just then" he said to them both sarcastically.

"You're welcome" Yubel replied and stuck out her tongue.

Quick and multiple stings then erupted on his leg, causing him to cry out as he looks to see the cause as the dorms cat climbs up his leg and onto his back.

"Ouch, hey!" he yelped as Pharaoh continued climbing all the way up to his head. Everyone around him took in amusement as the cat sat on the top of Jaden's hat like if it was nothing. It gave a load meow and began purring once it got comfortable, but Jaden was not having it. "Hey, get off my head!"

However, once he reached up to take the cat of his head, Pharaoh began swiping left and right at his hands. In a manner of saying that he is comfortable and does not want to move and will swipe at any attempt to move his big brown butt. However, someone did get behind the cat's defences and lift him of Jaden's head. The boy looked to see that the cat's owner and dorm head had decided to intervene and take the cat into his hands. The cat in question gave another loud meow but it sounded rather defeated as he slumped in Banner's hands.

"Well students now that everyone is present. Let us eat!"

The students gave a happy cheer and made their way inside as Jaden rubbed his head, brushing off the cat hairs that are left in his own hair.

"It seems you have made some friends my student, including Pharaoh here" Banner pointed out as Jaden finished off wiping the last of the cat hairs, at least he thinks it is the last of them.

"And some enemies, due to the duel earlier and the fact it was broadcasted. I now have a bigger target on my back."

"Does that scare you Jaden?"

Jaden chuckled and rubbed his nose with a grin.

"Not in the slightest, I came to duel academy to duel so the way I see it. I am getting the academy experience already."

A surprised and amused look from Banner was the response as Jaden began to make his way to the dorm's hall. The smell of food already wafting out of its doors and into Jaden's nose and instantly his hunger picked up as he smelt not just rice but also fried fish. And boy did he hope it was shrimp, Banner on the other hand remained impressed with the boy's confidence and made his way to the dorm to but not before slyly looking up to see two faint specks of light follow Jaden into the hall's interior.

"Well, this year is going to be very interesting after all" Banner said to himself and stroked Pharaoh on the head. "Very interesting indeed. Now I better get in before the students take all the fish."

Right, I know I said that chapter 4 will have two duels, but this chapter is over seventy pages and is taking long so the duel with Jade will happen, but it will be next chapter and I will need to make sure that is does not go too long otherwise none of you readers will be able to get to the end. I hope you all are keeping safe and have not lost your minds over the lockdowns as they are annoying but its better to be well then sick.

As for Jade and her brothers, yeah it does give bad vibes and by the other fanfic you mentioned. I trust you mean the one written by GhostKaiser23, very true but in respects to the writer. He does have the right to put down in his own fanfic stories and in regards to that, even though this fanfic is inspired by his fanfic….I wont be doing the Ojama thing…that is a freebee spoiler. As for Zara, I am pretty sure that I have said something like this to another reader, but I will say it again…YOU HAVE NO IDEA!

The shaggy joke was pretty good if I say so myself LOL.

Canadian Magus: What approach I will do with Crowler and I admit he does have some redeeming qualities, but they don't really show until later in season 1 and in season 2. So, for now, I am going to keep the curb on him.

It is abusive but not to that degree, I have not decided if I should go that route yet but when I get to that bridge, I will need to make a decision. Also, the characters are going to be strictly GX and OC as I have not seen Arc V., I have heard that Alexis is in it but no it won't be included. Nice suggestion though.

Again, sorry that the second duel is not included but this chapter is a long one. It is likely that the next chapter will be short as it is a continuation of this chapter so maybe I should name it chapter 4.5. Let me know in the comments.
