AN: So I decided to throw one last all-nighter before school starts on Tuesday and at 3:30 am I got bored and decided I had to write something. I'm pleasantly surprised that is as coherent as it is for being written at that ungodly hour. I've been meaning to make a contribution to the ShWeir universe for a while now anyway, and so I finally have. Hope you enjoy this little bit of fluff.

Elizabeth Weir sighed in content as she leaned back against her love and gazed up at the night sky. "It's so beautiful…" she whispered, awed by it. The view from here, on this remote balcony far away from the hustle and bustle of Atlantis, was truly spectacular and the nights she came here with him were the best of all.
Behind her, she heard the smile in his voice as he spoke. "Not as beautiful as you." A moment later his lips were on hers and she mirrored the expression, as content as she could ever be.
"But really," she said. "It's breathtaking. It looks exactly like the view from earth. When I was girl I used to go out in my backyard and just stare up at the sky for hours." She fell silent again as he wrapped his arms around her and held her close.
For a long time they sat there in silence, neither of them needing to say anything, just enjoying being together. They didn't do this all that often, and when they did it was special. A little vacation from the day-to-day stress of living and working on a base in a different galaxy than the one they were raised in.
"Personally," he whispered in her ear suddenly, "I think you're more beautiful than all the stars up there put together. Almost as beautiful as the sandwich I had that one time after I didn't eat for a week…"
"John!" But she knew he was only teasing.
He laughed and kissed her again.
Elizabeth sighed once more. Yes, to her this was heaven. What good was living in another galaxy and working to protect the human race if you couldn't enjoy it once in a while?
