Chapter Three:
Back to prison (school... I mean school, duu'h)
Welcome to the fourth chapter, if I can get this typed up and posted up before work.. this would be a blessing! I'm always going to apologise for the long delays of uploading. I have slightly updated the previous chapters.
This chapter will contain minor lemony fluff. More or less Danny's overly protectiveness of Sam's well being

Since 4am in the morning, all Sam has done is tossed about in Danny's bed hoping she would fall back to sleep. Nightmares where the cause of her being awake at this time. Her nightmare was about her father.. from when her attacked her that night. The event is still so raw and fresh in her mind. "I need coffee" she mumbled to herself. She carefully slid herself out of the bed, trying her best to not wake him. He needs sleep more than she does.
Sam quietly crept down the halls of the Fenton house where she makes her way down to the kitchen. Once finding the kettle she began to brew herself some boiling water. Once the water hits the coffee granules that are in her mug.. the smell of it brings pure goodness to Sam's mind. She and her mother would always head out to coffee shops on the weekend, so it's kind of like a self remedy for her at the moment.
She leans on the counter tops, and savours the smell. She hasn't given much thought as to how her appearance must look right now. She probably looks like a right state. Sam pushes herself of the counter tops and walks into the living room, she walks up to the huge mirror. Instantly she gaps when she finally see's her reflection. Her eyes are so baggy with dark circles under them. Her hand reaches up to the base of her neck and slowly touches the visible bruises. For a moment she shuts her eyes.. the second she does this.. images of her fathers face come straight to her mind. "Samantha.." she jumps slightly, his voice. It still roams in her head. Few tears began to fall as she looks away from the mirror.
"Sammy." Sam turns around to see Danny in ghost mode hovering by the living room entrance. "Come back to bed" he says. He hovers closer to her before he changes to his human form. Sam looks up at Danny, how can he love her when she's in a mess like this. She feels so bad that he's now apart of this mess. He really doesn't deserve any of this. "Danny.. I am...I'm sorry." She manages to finally say, before breaking down in front of him.
Within seconds he is at her side, "Hey." He whispers, "None of this is your fault, Sammy." He says. He moves some fallen pieces of hair from her face so he could see her violet eyes. He lifts her chin up. "Sammy, I love you. I will always be here. This will get better." Danny says. His fingers begin to brush through her hair. "How about you have a bath? We still got loads of time before school." Said Danny, when Sam nods. He turns himself back into his phantom form. He gently picks her up bridal style and fly's up to the main bathroom.
Danny puts Sam down on the floor so he can start running the bath. When the water starts to run, he felt a pair of hands slither themselves around his torso. "Will you join me?" Said Sam. Danny turns to face her... "of course I will." He nuzzles her neck, leaving a trail of kisses. Danny felt Sam tugging on his shirt, encouraging him to take it off. He removes his shirt for her, she does the same for him. Danny begins to removes the rest of his clothes, whilst he allows her to take hers off. He quickly checks the water. The temperature was just right.
Once Sam was finished, he picked her up and walked into the bath with her. "Do you think he would come back." Sam asks.. as she lets him run water up and down her shoulders with his hands. "I am not sure.. but if he does.. I'll kick his arse to England." He heard a light laugh coming from Sam. A noise he hasn't heard in a while. He smiled. "If he does come back.. I want to be strong. Like my mum was." She said.
Granted, few years back she and her mother never saw eye to eye. But their was always love. In time, her mother did change. She became more understanding of how Sam wanted to live. Sam's mother even accepted her sense in fashion for being goth(Almost!). "Sammy, you're strong. You always have been." She heard Danny say. She reached for the soap bar and started to wash her arms with it "Can you teach me to fight?" Sam asked. She continued to wash her self, she slowly began to wash Danny's arms. Before saying... I know the basics. I want to know more." A long sigh came from Danny. He moved his hand to her thighs where he started to draw lazy circles on them "I can, if that's what you want. But this doesn't mean to say you can put yourself on the front line?" He said. Sam smiled. She turned herself around in the tub, She gently nudged him to move forward so she could wrap her legs around his waist.
"So what's wrong when I'm helping you fight ghosts? same thing right?" she enquired, she stared into his light blue eyes waiting for an answer. He moaned slightly before saying "That's different, your prepared. Trained, equipped" His hands where moving up and and her back "Then what's wrong with teaching more, this way?" She asked? she wasn't asking to be trained up so she could hunt her father down like a crazed psycho bitch. She wanted to know self defence. "I promise I'm not going to do anything stupid" With that, Danny nodded. "Fine, we can train on weekends." said Danny. "I suppose Valerie would also be good, to help train you up." He didn't get to say any more, as Sam swopped down and kissed him. "Thank you." She says before he re-claims her lips.
Even though she promised she wasn't going to go after him, their was still some thing nudging in the back of his mind... Telling him that this was going to be a bad idea.
Few hours later, the two young teens where ready to leave for school. They were supposed to meet Tucker and Valerie along the way. "You sure you don't want some?" Said Danny as he continued to munch on his chocolate protein bar. Sam scrunched her nose up to him "Ill pass on that one!" She said, before they left home Mrs Fenton was kind enough and gave Sam another coffee to devour along the way. "Y'know those things aren't exactly healthy right?" Sam said, she saw him roll his eyes at her "Neither is that. If you wanna train up, your gonna need actual protein y'know" he said. She held her portable mug closer to her chest. She poked her tongue out just a little. "Ill add protein to my salad at lunch." with that he merely rolled his eyes and chuckled at his girlfriends comebacks.
"Hey guys!" from the distance Tuckers voice could be heard, Sam and Danny could see Tucker and Valerie approaching them. The gang was finally together. As they where walking towards school, Tucker took out its pet slime. "No way man, you actually bought that thing to school?" Danny said, he stopped walking for a moment so he could speak to Tucker. "Of course bro, I'm not gonna leave the little thing on its own." Tucker said. "If it gets lost its your problem." Said Danny. Tucker merely shrugged his shoulders... "What's your problem Danny? it's hardly going to do anything." Valerie spoke, Valerie took the slime so it can play with her and Sam quickly before they entered their school. "Yeah for now, but its only going to get bigger. We don't know what its capable of." Danny said as he watched the slime bounce about on the girls hands. "If your that concerned get your folks to check him out. For now its harmless" Tucker said, he made a whistling noise which caught the slimes attention. The slime bounced from Valerie and landed in Tuckers Hand. Tucker tucked it away in it's front shirt pocket. "Whatever." mumbled Danny, he adjusted his back back and carried on walking to school.
Danny is still kind of pissed at Tucker for taking the slime in the first place, sure it could be harmless but they don't know anything about it. As he is walking ahead to school he felt a hand take a hold of his, he smiled when he saw Sam.
The gang entered the schools building and made their way to their lockers, up ahead. Danny notice that he could see Dash, Paulina, Star and Dale picking on some group of kids. As expected Dash and Dale were being mean to first years by shoving three of them in lockers, That was until they where spotted... "Hey look its looser squad..." spoke Paulina she flicked her hair and looked at Star . "Yeah, its the freak show!" Said Star. 'Remind me again.. why I even had that crush on her' Danny thought to him self.
"Beat it you turds!" Said Dash. The three innocent kids that he shoved in one locker, literally legged it past Danny and the gang. "Well if it isn't Fen-turd and his geek squad" Dash said, as he stopped in front of Danny. "What do you want?" Danny said. "You better not be late for football try outs this week.. or else your gonna get it." Dash spat, Dale joined his side.. "Yeah you loser freak. Coz if your late then we all get the punishment" Danny shrugged his shoulders, "Can't promise anything! I don't even want to play... it was forced" was all Danny said. 'Thanks Lancer' Danny thought.
"Erm so yeah, could you move? your in the way to our lockers." Tucker said as he stood by Danny's side. Both of them where sending death glares towards Dash and Dale. "Tch, whatever, c'mon guys lets go." Spoke Dash and he took Dale's arm. Paulina and Star followed the two boys. Before they turned a corner, Paulina had turned around and sent a flirtatious wink towards Danny... Causing unwanted shivers to be sent right through him.
Danny took Sam's hand and squeezed it, "It's okay, I know it meant nothing." Sam whispered to him. Danny watched her make her way to her locker where she placed her items in and took out her books. Unfortunately, Danny and Sam weren't together for the first and second period. But its okay, for the first two Valerie and Sam had Maths and biology together. "see ya at lunch." Danny said as he gave her a quick kiss on the lips before finally leaving one on her forehead, he gave a wave to Val before leaving with Tuck. "Ready?" Asked Valerie. Sam nodded
After a long boring maths lesson the two girls finally entered their biology class. They took their seats at the far back. "Morning everyone." spoke their maths teacher, Mrs Evans. Mrs Evans walked to the chalk board and picked up a white piece of chalk. In big letters she wrote the word 'Frog dissecting' when the class was able to see what she put, Sam instantly groaned. "Think I'm gonna barf" Sam said. On every desk a frog was placed. When the frog was placed in front of Sam and Valerie, Sam pushed the tray forward "I can't do this, this totally goes against animal rights." Spoke Sam, she looked at Valerie who nodded in agreement. "By not taking part in this assignment.. this could cause points to be deducted from your final result." Mrs Evans said, Sam could tell her tone of voice was moody.
"Urgh, just fail her now, we all know the ultra recycle freak ain't gonna bother." spoke a student.
Sam stared back to her teacher, who was clearly not into saving animal rights from harm. Dead or not... No animal should be treated like this, she would rather fail than sit here dissecting this innocent frog. "I'm taking your silence is your answer to not proceed?" Sam nods in agreement "Miss Gray? are you too, following the same path as Miss Manson?" Valerie nodded. "Very well, you two will both do community service around the school to equal out points for your final score, for your reason of care.. Yes Miss Manson I do value rights" with that both she and Valerie smiled.
until lunch came, the two of them where given books to read on frogs habitats. Which was kind of easy for Sam as she already knew about all this Grand mother.
The lunch bell rang, which signalled the lesson to an end, as the two girls where leaving a couple of idiots decided on waving some cut off frogs legs in front of their faces. "What's your problem, you imbeciles." spoke Valerie as she pushed their arms out of the way. "Thought you'd both like to meet your dead prince, you know the story right? the frog turns into a prince " The tall boy that was talking to her and Sam is called Josh. No one will say it, but he is a bit of a freak. He joined Casper high last year, he only ever hangs about with Cody. Other than that he keeps himself to himself. " We don't believe in stories, so bug off." With that Val took Sam's arm and made their way to the canteen so they could meet the guys. "What an arsehole." spoke Sam. Val nodded. "I think he likes you!" Sam also said with a laugh, Val shot her a glare "Id never date him, he's an arse!" She said out loud.
They both found an empty table. In less than ten minutes Danny and Tucker joined them. Out of no where Danny handed Sam a protein bar, she laughed when she took it. "Your having those bars now?" questioned Valerie as she nibbled on her slice of pizza. Sam smiled "Yeah, long story!" she said, she put the bar beside her salad bowl. She went for a healthy Cesar salad mix. She notice that all three of them went for pizza for lunch. "How was your classes?" Asked Danny? as Sam was about to speak, she was interrupted by Star.
"Erm, sorry to disturb, but can I speak with Tucker alone?" Star asked. Everyone looked at each other oddly. "Sssure, yeah sure." Spoke a quiet Tucker he stood up from the table. "If your gone more than ten minutes... consider this pizza slice to be eaten." Danny said with a laugh. Tucker rolled his eyes.
"What's up with them two?" Asked Valerie, Danny shrugged "Who knows, ill find out though." he said with a wink. He almost reached out for the slice of pizza but was stopped from Sam. "No more junk crap." she said, he sighed deeply. She was right, he had eaten a lot of crap lately. I mean with football sessions coming about he needs to eat more healthier.
Danny smiles at Sam when he see's her nibbling on the bar he gave her, "Okay I'm beat, what's with you two? I'm used to the looks but c'mon... this is just a bar?" spoke Valerie.
Shit, in less than seconds it had come to Danny's mind that Valerie was the only one out of the gang that doesn't know about the current situation. He cant lie to her but he also doesn't want to tell her at school. Especially in the cafeteria when people could here. Heck the school principle don't even know that Sam lives with him now... "Earth to Danny?" Said Valerie as she waved her hand in front of him.
"Danny wants more protein in me so I can learn to properly fight." Danny then looks at Sam in shock, was she gonna tell her? "you eat healthy from all your green veggies anyway why do you also need to fight?" Valerie said. "
Erm.. Maybe you should come to mine after school, so that way we can fill you in. It's not something to discuss here." as Danny says this, he looks to Sam who nods. giving him the confirmed answer that he could tell Valerie what has happened to her. Danny's arm wraps around her waist, pulling her closer to him.
As that conversation died down, Tucker approached the table and sat back down next to Valerie. Straight away his smile was a complete give away.. "I'm taking the talk was good?" Danny asked as he nudged Sam who smiled. "She kissed me." Valerie spat our half her soda on the table. "Wait what? why? huh?" she said in confusion.
Danny patted Tuckers shoulder. "She aced her homework assignment that I helped her on." Tucker grabbed some napkins and started to cover up the spilt soda. "Hey Sam, if you help me with my homework will I get more kisses?" Danny whispered to her, Sam rolled her eyes "If you ace it." she said with a grin. He chuckled to her response.
"I need to get myself a boyfriend..." Mumbled Valerie...
The rest of the day went on pretty smoothly, apart from the extra amount of homework they all got given. When the final bell rang, every single student rushed their way out of school. Danny had decided that they should hang round his house as they had stuff to tell Valerie anyway.
Just as they where all about to walk round the last block to his home, a blue shot of lightning appeared in front of them causing them to all be separated. Each one fell a mile apart from each other. "Well if it isn't Fenton and his group of friends." Danny growled "Skulker!" Shouted Danny, he instantly turned ghost.
He launched a ray of ecto plasm at Skulker, who had dodged it of course "Is that all you got, boy?" Danny growled and launched several more shots, one finally hit Skulker. "Leave, before I capture you." Said Danny. "Firstly ghost boy... I'm not here to fight, I've actually been sent to you from Clockwork." Danny was stunned, he stared down at the ground to check on his friends. They where okay. He looked back up.
"Why would clockwork send you? your enemies?" Danny said, Skulker sighed. "we were, we made a deal. Plus I am sick and tired of working with Ember and playing that Damn stupid song. Basically... if you don't bring your self to clockworks tower now, you'll soon regret everything that is yet to come ghost boy." Skulker said, Danny watched him stare at Sam on his last few words.
A ghost portal appeared out of no where and Skulker flew right through it "Don't make me repeat my words twice ghost boy." Skulker said, the ghost portal vanished. Danny lowered himself to the ground.
"What was that about?" Asked Tucker as he asked, his friendly ball of slime came out from its pocket to rest on his shoulders. "I have to visit Clockwork... Right now." The gang stared each other with speechless answers. Usually whenever clockwork needed Danny, something bad was going to happen in the near future.
He summoned his own portal, a new thing that he could do now, he hovered to Sam. "Still head to my house, I have to go. When I'm back we will talk to Valerie." Sam nodded, he kissed her gently on the lips "Whatever it is man, I'm sure its fine." Spoke Tucker. "Be careful" He heard Sam say. Danny nodded, he gave once last smile before disappearing through through the portal.
'Please don't be about Sam' He thought instantly.
