Chapter nine: Alliances can be odd
Hello, and welcome to chapter nine! I'm kind of trying to get this updated every Friday... that's if I generally have nothing to do... Because I literally do sit on this site all day. Even if its not very good, I still try and have a bit of fun out of it. Plus its actually helping my mind at the moment.. doing a bit of creative writing
Even when I'm going to work, or I'm doing nothing in the week, I sit down and make up plans for the next chapter so i know what to write about. I am liking the force changes between Ember and Skulker. Becoming almost friends with Danny and the gang. I think that is what they need at the moment... But it wont be easy at first! Because you got Skulker and Danny who like being Alpha's of their groups... soooo, question is can they compromise to work together!
I think Tucker is defiantly falling hard for Star.. I think its also kinda cute! I have also got something up my sleeves that I might add in. I'ma think about that one firstly.
So I guess you can also tell, that Sam is changing.. It's kind of like the first few episodes of Danny phantom... when he keeps on changing invisible. (I might have re watched some the other day... It's so addicting)
Also, let me know if I need to change the characters up a little, I'm still trying my best to keep them in-tact as the would be in the show... But they are few years older from the last episode.
I really do hope you enjoy reading! I'll also try to keep them longer, rather than shorter.

It was 9am when Sam's phone started to ring, causing a grumpy Danny to wake up and look at it. He picked up Sam's phone from his shelf and looked at the caller ID "Who is it?" Sam asked in a mumbled voice as she woke herself up. Danny showed her the phone causing Sam to gasp in shock, she took her cell phone and answered it "Mum?" Asked Sam. At first, she thought it must have been a false alarm as she couldn't hear anything. That was until she heard her mother's voice "Sammy-kins, I have missed you so much." Said her mum, Sam could almost cry right about now she tried her best not to "I do to, where are you, are you safe? When can I see you?" Sam asked, one question turned into loads causing a smile to appear on her boyfriends face "I'm doing well honey, I'm staying at your aunts place in Australia. Jeremy absolutely hates her. It was the only place I could think of without him coming. Are you well dearest?" Sam was in shock. Her mother was miles away from her but at least she was safe right?
"I'm doing really well here mum. Danny and his family are looking after me so well. Mum theirs something I gotta ask?" Danny gave his girlfriend a questioning look "What's that baby?" Sam motioned Danny to grab her note pad and pen off the floor "Do you have Grandma's updated number, the school needs family consent in order for me to continue on living here without social services being called?" their was a long pause before her mum spoke "Of course, although I haven't informed Agnes of what's happened… so I don't know how this will go down, can't I not call the school and tell them myself?" Sam shrugged her shoulders to her mum's answer "I guess so, you've got their number, right?" Sam asked her "Yeah, I'll call them today for you, or maybe Monday… Today is a Saturday. Sorry baby, I'm still getting my head around things. I feel so bad that I've dumped you with the Fenton's… I feel like a right failure of a mother, I can't even deal with her own husband." Sam rolls her eyes and sighs "Mum, you're not a failure… from it. You did what you needed to do. I'm safe, your safe. That's all that matters." Sam said as she leaned herself towards Danny for comfort who is currently smiling right now. "Thank you, baby, I promise… Once this is all over, we can go on a proper vacation… Danny too. I know how much he means to you. So, if he is there can you tell him I said Thank you for keeping his promise." Sam arches one of her eyebrows and looks at Danny who nods, she watches him for a second as he takes her phone "I told you I would, I won't let you down." He said himself passing back the phone. Sam now was awfully confused… "Baby, I have to go. I will call you soon okay. Stay safe." After saying by to her mum, Sam looked at Danny.
"So, what's the promise that you're doing for my mum?" Sam asked him. Danny shook his head "Can't tell, it wouldn't be a promise now would it, If I told." He said with a chuckle, bringing his duvet up to provide more warmth "What happened to no secrets? Hmm." Sam said, nudging him "It's not a secret if its something asked by your mum." He said with a wink "Dannnny! Tell me." Sam said as she tried to tug away his duvet "Nope, not gunna happen." He gave his girlfriend a peck on lips and rolled over "Boys." Sam said muttering under her breath, she glanced towards the clock and gasped, it was virtually almost 10am… she was supposed to be meeting Valerie soon for a morning run "Shit" she cursed as she pulled herself out of their bed. "What's wrong?" Danny asked, he sat himself up and watched his girlfriend walk towards the bathroom wearing nothing but his long t-shirt... Causing him to grin "Training with Valerie, gotta go and get ready." She said as she entered the bathroom. Danny watches until the door shuts. He didn't know she had training today, maybe he could do something with Tucker today. That's if he isn't busy with his new crush… Danny grinned it was so obvious to anyone that he has feelings for star. He glanced at the clock once more, perhaps he should get up… it was quite late.
When his girlfriend returned from the bathroom, he smirked when he saw what she was wearing "No skirt?" He questioned as he hugged her from behind she quickly brushed her hair "Answer this question... Do you really want me to run in a skirt?." She said as she turned around in his embrace to face him, Danny took a moment to think about his question and he quickly thought about what she meant "Fair point, No skirt. I don't need other guys eyeing up my girlfriend." He said as he brushed his fingers through her long raven hair "Hmm, now you know how I feel when I see you in your ghost uniform and other girls are eye googling you!" Sam said with a playful wink, Danny was shocked for a moment before laughing "Ill see you later." She said as she made her way to leave the room to meet Valerie at the park "Count on it." Danny said before she left.
Once Sam was gone, Danny made his way downstairs. He grabbed his cell along the way and dialled Tuckers number "Hey bro, you busy?" Danny as hey rumbled through the fridge "Na, woke up an hour ago… what's up?" Tucker asked "You wanna do a ghost check in the ghost zone today? The girls are out so just us?" Danny asked as he poured himself some orange juice "Yeah deffo, ill be at yours in ten?" Tucker said, Danny chuckled "See you then."
Tucker arrived at the Fenton's just before eleven, he found his friend in the laboratory "Hey bro!" Tucker said as he made his way down the stairs "Hey, come check this out. I checked the ghost system and look." Danny said as he handed the ghost checker to Tucker, his eyes went wide when he saw the radar "Man, this thing is going nuts, what's triggering it?" Tucker said as he handed it back to Danny "Who knows, that's why I want to check it out." Danny put the radar down, he walked over to the spectre speeder and turned the machine on "You ready?" Danny said opening the door "Hell yeah!" Tucker said as he followed his friend and entered "Can I drive?" Tucker asked, Danny shrugged "Go ahead, but ill navigate." Tucker launched the spectre through the portal.
When they entered it was clear as ever, their was no ghost in sight "This is weird" Tucker said as he looked more closer "Yeah, the radar was going nuts earlier now its like a dead zone out here" said Danny as he motioned Tucker to flow the spectre in further, as they flew the radar started to beep "Now where getting something" Danny said as he turned ghost to go "Keep an eye out from here?" Danny said, Tucker nodded… he turned invisible and flew through the machine. He hovered over to where the beeping was signalled.
When he arrived, he could see Skulker and Ember arguing in the distance "Great…" he grumbled, he flew a bit further so he could hear what they were saying "You said you had it under control!" Yelled Skulker and he glared towards Ember "Yeah, I said I did. Until you decided to go and blow things up!" Ember screeched as she folded her arms across her chest "You ruin everything." Skulker said, everything around them was completely destroyed "No… I was trying to make amends! You just happened to blast them away!" Shouted Ember 'Make amends?' Danny thought "That's because he was going to shoot you!" Ember laughed "He wasn't going to shoot me. He was literally just going to join sides with us!" Said Ember. At that point Danny had enough, something was up and he wanted to figure out what they're bickering about.
"You know, the whole ghost zone can here you too arguing." Said Danny as he appeared a few feet away from them. Ember and Skulker turned and to face Danny and glared when they saw him "Ghost boy, why are you here?" Skulker questioned "Came to check out what the problem was, back at home the radar picked up some trouble… but when we got here, we saw nothing" Ember grunted "Maybe, if you had shown up earlier you would have seen the problem… your earth friend is causing problems in our world." Ember said, Skulker nodded… Danny looked confused "Earth friend? Who?" Danny asked, he had a hunch, but he wanted to be sure "Your girlfriends mad dad was here, not so long ago with Plasmius… Causing a riot with ghosts." Said Skulker as he turned to look at the destroyed area before him "We arrived to help, to also form an alliance with some ghosts. Plasmius kept getting in the fucking way." Shouted Skulker. "Alliance, what for? Jeremy was here?" The two ghosts nodded "Yes, believe it or not ghost boy… we live here, we want him out. It was my idea to form an alliance to get rid of him… but I'm not one to admit defeat, somethings different with him." Danny looked concerned "So this alliance, is it with all ghosts?" Skulker and Ember looked at each other "Depends who we can round up, why are you offering to join ghost boy?" Danny took a moment to think before nodding yes "I will help you, in fairness if we work together… my team can join in to." The two ghosts shared a look before facing back to Danny "Your team? As far as we know… You just have that weird girl… what's her face… Valerie?" Danny nodded "Yes, but Sam is also training. Tucker is our geek nerd with tech. Plus our latest edition equipment's can help." Said Danny said finishing with a smirk. Skulker and Ember nodded.
"Fine, if we agree… this doesn't make us friend's, okay?" Ember said. Danny grinned "Wouldn't have it any other way." Danny answered smiling almost "Come to my house tonight at five we can all discuss this better." Danny said to them "Look at that an invitation… alright Phantom we will be there. Don't keep us waiting. We got worked to do." With that Ember and Skulker flew away leaving Danny on his own. looking a bit more pleased with himself.
Danny returned to the spectre speeder to find Tucker sipping on a coffee "That bored huh?" Danny said as he sat down on his seat "Na man, embracing the moment." Tucker said as he took a long sip "So what happened?" Tucker asked with a questioned look "Ill tell ya later, but we gotta head back home." Danny said. Tucker nodded, he turned the spectre around and flew their way home.
In Amity park, Valerie and Sam could be seen jogging along side by side "You wanna take a breather?" Said Valerie, Sam nodded. the two came to a halt and started to walk for awhile. "So, how do you feel with everything going on?" Valerie asked Sam "Honestly, its a lot to take on lately. I feel so bad that Danny has to deal with all of it." Sam asked honestly. "Yeah that is true girl, but you know... He wouldn't go all this way for anyone else. He loves you." Valerie said with a grin, Sam laughed "I know he does, I just wish i can do more for him, seem to be bringing a lot of trouble lately." Valerie stopped walking and placed her hand on Sam's shoulder causing her to stop walking to "Hey! None of this is your fault okay. Don't ever think that. You're doing the best you can do right now." Valerie said, trying to be supportive as she could be. "Maybe, I can take Danny out? It's been awhile since the two of us had time together without interruptions?" Sam said. Valerie smiled "I think that's a great idea, you still got tomorrow before school on Monday, how about you go to the movies tomorrow?" Sam nodded "That sounds great! Monster slayer is out, I know he has been eager to see it." Said Sam. The two girls had stopped walking all together as they realised they have stopped right in front of nasty burger. "Fancy a bite?" Valerie suggested, Sam smiled "Absolutely! to pay it off... we can jog home later." Sam said laughing truthfully speaking she had missed breakfast and her stomach was grumbling a little.
When they entered the nasty burger Sam quickly headed off to the bathroom, however... when she tried to open the door, she found that her right hand had turned invisible and went straight through the doorknob "What the heck?" Sam said to herself in sudden shock, she bought up her other hand which was completely fine. Danny's voice struck her mind, she remembers him telling her what he saw in the future when he visited Clockworks tower that day. With her left hand she reached for her cell phone that was in her pocket, she instantly rang Danny's number. She needed him.
"Hey Sam what's up? how's the jog?" Danny asked "Jogging is fine, listen... remember when you said about me being ghost. Well I think the changes are happening." Sam said as she studied her hand once more "What do you mean Sam?" Danny asked sounding slightly concerned "Well, my right hand is literally invisible." Sam said. "Shit, where are you both now?" Danny asked straight away "Erm, Nasty burger..." Sam said as she heard her boyfriend laugh "Did you even jog at all?" Danny questioned, Sam stayed silent for a moment "Yeah of course we did, we just happen to end up here. Can you hurry?" Said Sam as she kept on staring at her hand "Sure, we will be their in a few okay?". After their called Sam stayed in the toilet and waited till Danny came, which wasn't very long from the looks of it.
Danny was right out side the door to the girls bathroom, within five minutes "Sam-" Before Danny could even finish his sentence, he was dragged in by Sam. She instantly showed him her hand "what do I do!" Sam said feeling a bit more shocked "You have to focus real hard, picture your hand being their Sam. That's what I did the first time." Danny said holding her waist for comfort "I've tried that, it's not working." She said, as she looked through her hand once more "Try again, empty your head and focus on your hand." Danny said, whispering to her ear. Sam nodded, she gave herself a moment to clear her thoughts before focusing all of her attention towards her right hand. Slowly but surly her hand turned back to normal, she sighed in relief.
"Was that the first time" Danny asked, "Yeah it's never happened before... But how? I've not been in the ghost zone in awhile? or touched anything that could trigger me to turn?" Sam questioned as she stared at him "That's true, lets figure this our later. For now if anything happens. We just have to hide it from the others." Danny said, Sam nodded "Maybe we should head back before Valerie sends a search party. I have been in here for awhile." Sam said honestly with a smile, Danny nodded, he turned himself invisible and flew out the main door. it would look incredibly wrong if a female saw him walk out of the girls bathroom... Sam followed but she walked out the normal way.
Sam sat herself back down at the table, the seats where now filled with Tucker and Danny who had ordered them selves some shakes and nachos "Everything okay? Your not pregnant are you?" Valerie said, causing Danny to choke on his shake a little "What, absolutely not!" Sam said as she glared at Valerie "Just making sure, girls don't usually ask their boyfriends to check up on them in the bathroom if its not for that reason." Valerie said with a wink. Sam rolled her eyes "I'm not pregnant!" She said once more, making it clear to everyone "Okaay girl. I'm just teasing!" Valerie said as she munched on her fries. "How was the ghost zone?" Questioned Sam as she looked at Danny and Tucker "It was alright, the radar kept muffing up a little." Valerie arched an eyebrow "Muffing up? how? it's new?" She said as she studied them both "The radar wasn't broken Tuck." Said Danny as he interrupted to conversation "Huh?" Tucker said "We got their a little bit late, Skulker and Ember where their trying to fix the problem. The ghost zone was actually under attack." Danny said as he ate a few more nachos "Attacked, by who/what?" Asked Valerie, Danny looked at Sam briefly before saying "Plasmius and Jeremy. Seems like he's gotten stronger over night." At that point Sam pushed her drink away in disgust. "Funny part is... To find help, Skulker and Ember wanted other ghosts to help defeat him... So I said that we should work together... And they agreed..." Valerie smiled, she had suggested about doing this but she didn't think it would be this easy... And Jack Fenton thought they wouldn't co-operate... Valerie chuckled and rolled her eyes from the thought of his words, from being against all this.
Sam meanwhile was a bit taken back by everything, she honestly didn't think that her life could get any worse than it is, maybe she should surrender herself to her dad. Just so everything can go back to being normal. She wouldn't want her mum involved she would take on all the beatings that her mum suffered with. Or maybe she could come up with a plan to talk her father out of this, because at the end of this problem when it gets solved she can see her father being locked up in a thermos for a very long time... That's if he truly is a ghost. It's even more scary now, knowing that she is becoming one too, she wonders what her family would think of her once they find out she is turning into a ghost? she hasn't even told her mum yet that her own husband is a ghost... Maybe she might keep that one quiet for awhile so it doesn't freak her out more. Anger crossed her mind all of a sudden... when she thought about Danny being hurt by a ghost even worse by her own father... that emotion struck strong, causing her eyes to change colour without her even noticing. However, it defiantly caught Danny's attention straight away, he nudged her foot underneath the table... Distracting her a little. He blinked a couple of times before mentioning the word "Eyes" under his breath, Sam took out her phone quickly and looked at herself, her eyes had indeed changed to a dark shade of green. She cleared her thoughts and focused happily which changed them back to her violet eyes. Luckily enough Tucker or Valerie didn't notice the change they were too busy eating their food. Sam's phone suddenly buzzed she looked at her screen again and she saw she had a message from Danny 'Are you okay' she looked up to him and nodded, she texted back saying 'Yeah I'm fine was just thinking' she said ending it with a smile 'Try not to, or at least nothing bad' Danny's text said as he replied back to her. Sam only nodded in response.
"Hey, how about we go and see Jazz and Star at the park? they're starting the clean up today" Tucker said as he still had the flyer in his pockets "On a Saturday? wonder how many people signed up for that." Said Valerie as she looked at the gang. Once the bills were paid for, the gang made their way to the park where they could see a few kids pickled up some of the rubble caused from the fight "Quite a few from the looks of it." Said Sam as she made her way over desk to pick up some cleaning gear...maybe helping out can help distract her thoughts a little from everything that's happening. She wrote her name down on the list to show her side of support she laughed a little when she saw Dash's name written down to. She gabbed an empty trash can and started to fill it up, the rest of the gang started to join in too which caused her to smile.
When star appeared Tucker was instantly by her side "Seems like a lot of people are helping you guys out" he said as he picked up some trash "Yeah some people have been here since 9am, even Paulina turned up... I guess she needed the extra credit" Said star as she helped out to "Does she still hate you?" Asked Tucker as he looked at her Star shook her head "Yes and no, I wont be the bully person that she wants me to be, but ill be her friend for when she needs it." Star said. She looked up from when she was standing and watched Danny and Sam from the distance, they were walking side by side picking up trash together as they went "Wouldn't it not be nice to have the relationship that they have?" Asked star as she glanced to Tucker who nodded "Yeah, they have the strongest bond. It took Danny ages to ask out Sam, yet we all new from the start he loved her" Tucker said with a grin as he was technically speaking the first to know of his best friends love interest "Really i thought it was Paulina or your friend?" Star said, Tucker shock his head in disagreement "No, they were crushes. Sam is the real deal. He won't let anyone harm her" Tucker said as he watched his best friend, Star made an aww sound "That's cute, young devoted love! I wish I had that." Star said as she looked at Tucker who blushed immesnly.
As they continued to walk, Star had almost tripped over on some rubble causing Tucker to instantly catch her before she fell and hit the ground "Are you okay?" Tucker asked looking a little concerned "Yeah, clumsy me. Thanks for the catch." She said giving him a wink "I'm going to go and find Jazz." Star said, she gave him a quick cuddle before leaving him, Valerie soon appeared by his side smirking "What?" Moaned Tucker "Star and Tucker sitting in a tree... Kiss-" Tucker placed his hand over her mouth before she could continue that horrific song to him "Shut up." Moaned Tucker as he tried to hide his embarrassment "What, I think it's cute. Now i see why you have time alone with her. You like her." Valerie said to him, Tucker nodded "Yeah, I do... She's different now." Tucker said honestly "That might be because she's sticking up for herself, rather than being glued to Paulina...You honestly have no idea what power that girl has." Valerie said as she remembers when she was friends with her, the stuff she was forced to do, just to gain popularity... it was horrible she felt sorry for all the kids that she bullied in her first year before changing sides "Can you imagine a nice version of Dash?" questioned Tucker. Valerie shrugged "It is possible, maybe he might not be such of an air head if he does change." Valerie said as she tried to look for him but she couldn't see him anywhere... well that was until she heard his laughing voice. She watched him throw a trash can towards Danny who tripped over it "Here we go..." She grumbled as the pair watched from the distance.
"Dash you know, the whole point of picking up trash is to pick it up... not cause more." Said Sam as she helped up Danny who chuckled "Yeah, but this mess wouldn't be here if it wasn't for Fenturd" Dash said with a grin proving his point, Danny glared "People would be dead if I wasn't here." Danny shouted back. "This wasn't me." Danny stated as he now glared at Dash, Sam noticed his sudden changed of behaviour she held his hand in order to calm him down "Yeah well if it weren't you who was it?" Dash questioned "Plasmius..." Danny said as he remembered the fight clear as day.. his worst night mare came true that day when he began to see the dark side of Jeremy hurting innocent people. "Well.. maybe you should get the ghosts to quit ruining our town. I'm tired of picking up your work." Dash said angrily, Danny growled "A) It's not that easy keeping them away B) you rarely do any work, part from picking on people." Danny said as he suddenly changed into his ghost form, causing Dash to back away a little "Danny, Danny changed back." This time it was Sam's voice who distracted him, He hadn't realised he had turned ghost usually he knows when he does it, maybe he is a little bit under stress "Dash if you know what's good, you'll leave us alone." Sam said as it was her time now to calm down her distress boyfriend
When Dash walked away, Sam faced Danny she embraced him giving him the comfort he needs " Ignore him, change back Danny." she said whispering to his ear, when she felt him change back she smiled "Maybe we both need help when it comes to our emotions... you wanna know the crazy part... I felt more connected to you when you turned ghost this time." She said running her fingers through her hair "You did?" Danny asked, Sam nodded "Defiantly, it's like was apart of you for a split second." she said as she bought both her hands around his neck "Maybe it has something to do with you becoming half ghost." Danny questioned, Sam smiled "I think so. I don't feel anything when you've changed before... It's only till today that I've felt something." She said honestly as she looked into his eyes "Maybe we should talk about this to mum and dad later. Or even Skulker and Ember. It's quite rare seeing a human going out with a ghost y'know" Danny said with a grin, Sam gently smacked his shoulder "Half ghost, you're still human." She said, winking back at him "Also.. can we do something tomorrow?" Sam asked whilst they were alone, Danny nodded in agreement "Of course, I think we both need it. What do you want to do?" Danny asked as he took his girlfriends hand "How about we see a movie? No ghost fights or patrols.. Just us.. You know like a date?" Sam said with a smiled. Danny pulled his girlfriend into a tight hug "I would love to go on a date with you." He said as he kissed her lips.
Their happy moment was soon distracted by Tucker and Valerie who made gross sounds from the distance "Can you two keep your hands off each other for more than five minutes." Joked Valerie and she and Tucker approached the couple "If i want to make out with my girlfriend... I can." Danny said sticking out his tongue 'I liked it more when he lacked in confidence' Mumbled Tucker which caused Valerie to laugh a little... "Hey shouldn't we not head back to yours, It's almost 5pm, we don't have long till Skulker and Ember turn up." Said Valerie as she looked at the time on her wrist watch "Shit, I actually had almost forgotten about that. Yeah lets head back before dad freaks out about having ghosts in the lab." Danny said. The gang said their farewells to Jazz and Star, they had left the park together to make their way to Danny's home.. where they can hopefully solve this problem and help defeat Plasmius and take down Jeremy.
