Chapter Ten: The Date

Sorry it's taken awhile for me to get the next chapter up... I hope you enjoy it.

When Danny entered his room after a long day. He walked into his bathroom and turned on the shower. He needed to mellow down, from having a meeting with Skulker and Ember in his parents living room… Which went sort of okay, once everyone had come to an understanding. In away he's glad they everyone is willing to work together. However, there is one thing that's lingering in the back of his mind… Can he trust them? Can he honestly believe that he won't be betrayed and have his loved ones be put in more jeopardy? He knows that they have worked well before, but that case was a different situation. Danny began to wonder "How did everything turn into such a mess…" Danny moaned.

Danny closed his eyes when he stood underneath the shower, he still vowed to keep Pamela's promise. Sam meant everything to him, He knows they're still so young. Danny would do anything to make sure that Sam is kept safe. He's still surprised that his parents want to work alongside the ghosts too. Let's just hope that the ones Skulker and Ember find don't hold grudges against his parents.

Moments later, when Danny came out of his bathroom, he found Sam laying on their bed reading a book. A smile appeared on his face. He knew his room no longer belonged to him. He was glad that he was able to share it with Sam. He also likes the fact that she doesn't overwhelm him at times and still gives him his personal space when he needs it.

Danny quickly changed and got himself into bed "What are you reading?" He asks his girlfriend as he pulls her slightly closer to him. He watched her face turn into a grin as she showed him the front cover, he couldn't help but chuckle slightly "You're reading a book that's about zombies." Sam laughed and nodded "I'm preparing myself for it to happen, it's bound to!" She said as she flipped over a page "Don't jinx it." Danny murmured as he snuggled into her neck. "What are we doing tomorrow?" Danny asked with his face still buried in her neck "We are going on our date and I'm not telling you anything" Danny nodded he slightly moved his head to take a look at the clock, 'Almost midnight' he thought with a yawn "Sleep?" Sam asked him, he nodded. When Danny felt Sam move to put her book down and switch off the light, he instantly pulled her back into his warm embrace. Sleep took over the both of them.

When Vlad returned to his mansion with Jeremy, he honestly couldn't feel any happier than he already was. His progress with Jeremy was improving. For once, he was impressed with Technus. Using this human against Phantom will defiantly cause more problems for ghost boy "Finally, I will take him down!" Vlad said to himself as he leaned over his fireplace watching sparks of fire dance about. He didn't care what happens to Jeremy's body if he succeeded with his plan then that's all that mattered to him.

He was sincerely impressed when he watched Jeremy take down several ghosts in the ghost world earlier on today, he showed no emotion. Having no emotion will make it easier for them to finish phantom once and for all. Vlad wanted what was his… The power, Fame and of course his beloved women that he loved… Maddie. Phantom took that all from him, he will get it back. "Just you wait Phantom, I'll get you." Vlad said to himself.

It was around 10am when Danny woke up, as he woke a big stretch came from him. He looked to his right to see that Sam wasn't there. He run his hand over the bed sheets, her side was still quite warm so she must have gotten out of bed not so long ago. Danny pushed his covers aside and decided it was about time that he got out too.

When he entered the kitchen, he found his girlfriend sitting on top of the counter talking to his mum. He liked that she was wearing one of his tops. Which looked far too large for her. He also liked how calmly she looked whilst talking to his mum. He made his way over and joined the two "Your up!" Sam said first as she ruffled his bed head hair, making Danny grin. "I saved you a plate from breakfast." Maddie said to her son as she left the two alone for a moment to fetch the plate from the fridge. Danny kissed Sam on her forehead before he made his way to the table to eat his breakfast.

"So, you gonna tell me now?" Sam smiled and shook her head "Still a secret." She said with a grin. Danny arched an eyebrow "But Sam, we don't keep secrets?" Danny said as he ate some bacon. "Just this one time." She said smiling. Danny nodded, only because she seemed happier today, he hasn't seen her smile in a while.

"Who's looking after the city?" Danny asked Sam "Already got that covered, Tucker and Valerie agreed to take watch." Sam said to him, he nodded as he took a large scoop of scrambled eggs into his mouth. Sam shook her head, she flicked on the coffee maker that was besides her "Would you like some?" Sam asked him. As she reached for a mug "Of course!" Danny answered. When Danny was finished with his breakfast… A breakfast that he demolished he placed his plate in the sink and embraced his girlfriend from behind. He continued to do so as she made their coffee's "Are you wearing my shirt today?" Danny asked as he nuzzled her neck "I might." Sam said as she turned around to face him "Do I need to wear anything fancy?" Danny asked her, she shook her head "nope, just be casual." She said, Danny smiled "The secrecy is going to annoy me you know that right?" Danny said, Sam laughed "Don't worry, I only planed it with Valerie a day ago." She said kissing him on the tip of his nose.

It was around noon when Sam and Danny arrived at their first place of their date, Danny landed them both gracefully to the ground they both stood in front of Amity parks city area. Danny changed himself back to his human form to withdraw attention. He felt Sam take his hand "Come on" she said to him, pulling him through the busy streets. It wasn't long before they stopped "Okay, this is the first place." She said to him. Danny turned around to face the building, he chuckled when he saw what it was "Roller blading?" Danny asked, Sam nodded "Yep!" She took his hand once more and guided him through.

They both approached the front desk "Two skates please for an hour." Sam said to the guy at the desk "sure, shoe sizes?" He asked them "Size four and size six" Sam said to the guy "Awesome, we will need to take your shoes whilst we get the skates alright?" Sam nodded. She and Danny quickly removed their shoes and placed them on the counter. The guy came back with two skates "They will be £15 please." Sam took out her purse and gave the guy the money, just for today she wasn't going to let Danny pay anything. As she wanted him to enjoy himself.

Once their skates where on they both made their way to the arena, Sam leaned to Danny's ear and whispered, 'come and catch me if you can.'. Danny grinned as he watched his girlfriend roll onto the platform and disappeared amongst the crowd. When he stepped on the song 'Bullet for your sweetheart by Make out Monday' began to play. He smiled when he heard the lyrics. He knew why she picked this place, it always played decent music that they both enjoyed. As he skated, nothing else around him seemed to exist. In fact, he spotted his girlfriend already, she was doing circle laps around him.

He waited till she skated around him again so he could catch her this time, when the time was right Danny made his move. Danny approached her from behind and took her hand "Found you" he whispered to her. They both began to skate in a large circle. Danny raised Sam's hand high in the air and spun her around in a mini circle. When she stopped, she had both her hands on his shoulders "I love this song." She murmured to him, she began to hum to the new song 'Today by smashing pumpkins.' He loved it when she found comfort in music. He watched her move her head a little to the music. He adored his little rocket. He pulled her closer so he could listen to her singing "Today, is the greatest day, I've ever known...can't wait for tomorrow." Danny smiled, he then felt Sam pull away from him as she dashed off into the mix crowd once again, making him find her. He could hear her laugh amongst the crowd.

"Okay you guys, listen up you skaters… This next song, you must skate real fast. So, everyone line up on the right side. Find your partners and run!" Spoke the announcer. Danny spotted Sam, he skated up to her when everyone was lined up the song 'Na,na,na,na by My chemical romance' started… as soon as it played everyone skated in a large fast circle. Danny laughed when he reached for Sam's hand, he held it tightly as they made one more giant lap around the arena. The two skated off to the standing stall to catch a breath "I honestly didn't know that they were going to do that." Sam said as she regained her breathing. Danny laughed to her response "Are you sure you didn't set this up." He said giving her a wink, Sam slapped his shoulder lightly "One more round before some drinks? We still got some time left?" She said to him, Danny nodded he stopped her quickly before she skated. "This time you've gotta catch me." Danny said with a grin causing Sam to blush.

When Danny skated off, he made sure to make it a bit harder for Sam… she did venture off twice without him… Pay back is needed he continued to skate and listened to the song that was playing 'I'll make it up you by Imagine Dragons' Danny chuckled as he listened, he even began to sing a little to himself. He hadn't realised that Sam had found him, she was recording him on her phone… She had caught him off guard and singing! "Saam!" He said as he tried to take her phone away from her to delete his embarrassment. Sam laughed "Don't even think about it, I'm keeping these as memories. I promise I won't show anyone" she said to him… Some how he didn't quite believe her this time. "Come on! Let's go get some drinks." She said as she took his hand in hers.

Sam took off her skates and handed them back to the guy, Danny did the Sam "Not having drinks here?" Danny asked as he looked at her "Nope, some where else." She said as she guided him out of the building.

Sam and Danny walked for about fifteen minutes before she stopped him outside a drink's restaurant, Danny smiled when he saw the place that Sam had taken them to. "We haven't been here since our first date." She said to him as they walked in. When they entered the restaurant, they sat at their table... the table they sat at on their first real date "It's been a while since we were last here huh?" Sam said to Danny as she gave him the menu. He nodded in response, he held the menu and looked at the drinks, he was quite surprised to see them showing off more vegan drinks which was great for his girlfriend, he took a moment to look at her… 'She sure has changed' he thought to himself… when they were last here, they were slightly younger. She still had her short hair back then which reached the tip of her shoulders. He smirked when he remembered the worker spilling the drinks over them. Danny's thoughts where soon interrupted by a co-worker "What can I get you guys?" The guy asked as he held his note pad and looked at them both.

"Ill have the Vegan strawberry bliss milkshake." Sam answered before she looked at Danny for his response "Vanilla milkshake I'll try the vegan one." Sam's eyes went wide. When the guy walked away Sam arch her eyebrow "You feeling ok?" Sam asked as she bent over to feel his forehead "Wanted to try something new, pretty am sure ill demolish it." He said with a grin. Sam laughed. She should have guessed as much "Should I tell my mum about me becoming part ghost." Sam asked him. Her question caught him off guard for a moment as this wasn't something he thought she would ask… I mean in theory it would be wise to tell her "I think you should tell her when you think the time is right. You're still adapting to the change" Danny said with his honest opinion. Sam knew he was right. She didn't want her mum to worry just yet "I just want to be the one to tell her before she somehow finds out about it, if you know what I mean." Danny nods he totally understands that. As that's how he felt. Yet he didn't get to find the right time as everyone found out when the asteroid was about to attack the planet. He reached for her hand and held it for a moment "When you have it under control, that's when you should tell her." Danny said as he squeezed her hand. Sam nodded.

As he held her hand two shakes were placed in front of them "Lets try this then." Danny said as he took a long sip of his drink. Sam waited before trying hers. When he was finished, she looked at him "And?" she asked she watched him swirl his straw around before saying "It's not as bad as I thought it would be." Sam grinned and finally took a sip of hers before saying "See… We just need to tell that to Tucker." Danny laughed, he knew for a fact that Tucker would never attempt to try anything like this, but he didn't care… if it made his girlfriend happy that's all that matters.

"So, where to next? Home or somewhere else?" Danny asked Sam as he continued to drink more of his milkshake. "It's not home, not just yet. I'm still not telling you where the next stop is. Although we may need to fly to it" she said with a smile. Danny gave her a questionable face response. They both finished their drinks in a comfortable silence.

When they left the restaurant, Danny turned into ghost mode and picked Sam up bridal style "Where to Ma'am" He said jokingly…" To my old home." She said with a smile before kissing his lips. Danny's cheeks turned to a pink shade of colour before flying off into the distance. His thoughts began to wonder as to why she wanted to spend time in her old home… he couldn't help but think of the memories from that day, when he helped her and her mum.

It didn't take long before he landed in front of her doorstep "Why here Sam?" Danny asked as he placed her down "You'll see." Sam said as she took out her keys to open the door. Of course, deep down she was still a bit frightened to walk back into her old home, but she wanted to show him that she was much stronger, if she cried a little… it was because she was happy.

Sam reached for Danny's hand and guided him to the living room, when they entered… he was stunned when he saw Pamela standing there in the middle of the living room. Sam was the first to embrace her for awhile "I actually wasn't sure if you would be here." Sam said as she looked up to her mum "I made a promise didn't I, Plus I get to thank him in person for keeping his promise to so far." Sam looked at her feeling slightly confused "What promise?" Sam asked, Pamela had let go of her daughter and extended her hand to Danny who took it "I asked him to take care of you… I've seen the news about him." Pamela said as she looked at them both "Do what you have to do to take him down. I'm so proud of you both, so proud" she said as she took them both in for a long hug. "Sammy, I've been staying at your grandma's house. She's the one that convinced me to step foot back in this house again. She's given me hope to move on. I'm not ready to live back here just yet. But when I do, I'll be making changes" Pamela said as she still hugged them both for life.

When Pamela let go of them both, she looked at Danny, "I know how much you mean to my daughter, I want to help you and your family more. For your parents I'm giving you £5,000 do what you need to do with it to end this chaos." Pamela said as she reached for a cheque in her pocket and handed it to Danny. Sam's mouth went wide, she honestly had no idea how much her mum made, she was thankful enough for her to still be funded whilst she lived with Danny. At first, Danny rejected the cheque "Please accept. I know your parents like to make things…Perhaps they can make something to tackle this. I can't stay here for long. I must get going" Pamela said as she picked up her bag from the sofa. "Look after each other." She said to them both before walking out.

When Pamela was gone, Sam looked at Danny who still held the cheque "My parents are going to freak out." He said as he stared at it. Sam chuckled "Are we going home now?" Sam nodded, she quickly took out her phone to see a text message from Valerie 'Already for ya girl' Sam smiled, she forgot that Danny was still looking at her "Let me guess, not gonna tell me huh?" He said as he took at her hand after he turned into ghost mode "Absolutely not." Sam said to him, Danny rolled his eyes and kicked off from the ground, he turned them both invisible and flew out from the house.

It didn't take long for Danny to fly them home, when they entered the house his parents and his sister were in the living room "Hey kids!" Maddie said first "You guys hungry we got Chinese" Maddie said as she ate some noodles, before Danny had the chance to reply he was interrupted by his sister "Don't let them eat it all mum!" Jazz said as she looked at Sam and winked "Its okay Maddie, we already ate" Sam answered. Danny nodded, looking slightly sad that he wasn't going to get seconds when Sam took Danny's hand and nudged him to go upstairs with her.

When Danny went upstairs with Sam, he was stopped before they entered their room "Just so you know, you don't get to be pampered like this all the time." Sam said quietly to him. Danny looked at her feeling slightly confused. "Wait here." She said as she kissed his cheek. Danny watched his girlfriend disappear to their room. A few seconds later his door opened, his eyes lit up when he saw what she was wearing, his large baggy shirt from this morning… She had her hair half tied up and she also held two Xbox controllers in her hands "For the rest of this evening, were going to be gaming together" Sam said as she backed herself further into the room. "Oh, you're such as tease!" Danny said as he followed her. When he walked further in, he had to smile at some of the decorations. He noticed some food that was placed in bowls for them "Who did this?" Danny asked, "I'm not telling." She said with a grin. Sam then laughed when he tackled her down and onto the bed "Just so you know… I'm gonna whop your arse" Danny said as pushed her further into the bed so he was sitting on top of her, Sam still held the controllers in both hands "Oh yeah, if you win... What do you get?" Sam asked as she held the controllers tightly "You." Danny said as he bent down to kiss her neck briefly...

Sam suddenly felt the controllers being taken from her whilst he still continued to trial kisses down her neck "You distracted me!" She said as he now sat up holding both of them "Na, I just know your weakness." He said with a wink. He gave her one controller and turned the Xbox on. When he was comfortable he pulled Sam to his lap so they could play together. "Wait, one second." She said before reaching her phone. She quickly turned on her camera to take a photo of themselves "I'm keeping the memories." She said as she kissed him on the cheek, whilst taking the photo at the same time, Danny looked at it and smiled "You're so sending that one to me." He said. Sam chuckled before putting her phone back down and snuggling into him. Sam was feeling immesnly impressed with herself, she was glad that today went out like she had planned it to and they didn't have any interruptions. She was glad how she got to see Danny feel happy… She loves him, she loves him more than anyone does. She loves him that much, that she doesn't care about becoming half ghost… She knows she will always have him by her side. Their connection is strong. She would happily spend the rest of her life with him most importantly she hoped that he feels the same way about her.

I liked typing out the roller blading scene, I had the feeling that Danny and Sam would like this sort of music. grunge/rock based. I'm into all this music myself so it was extra fun for me to listen to it and type it up at the same time.
