Will looked at Elizabeth, he didn't feel the cold wind or hard rain. His heart had already been ripped from him as he watched Elizabeth kiss Jack three years ago. He had only agreed to go to the end of the world because his fiancee was going. He had been repayed with his death sentence.
Heart breaking, Will thought of his father, never to be saved from the claws of the vicious Davy Jones. He thought of Gibbs and the others, imprisoned at the end of the world, both Jack and he had promised to return for them. Being a man of his word, Will felt his death was only a way of breaking his bargains. Another of that pirate's clever ways of breaking trust, killing crewman and getting his way.
Will didn't notice Jack watching him either, he was preparing for death. He looked down and across. Suddenly Will's eye's clouded, he only saw a blur of faces, even Elizabeth became just one of the crowd. So this is death, he thought and as the hang man looped the noose around his neck, Will offered an apology to the world.
In this desperate frame of mind, Will looked at the crowd one last time.
