_X_ BERTRAND HOUSEHOLD, A WEEK AFTER THE WHOLE ORDEAL AT THE POLICE STATION _X_ THIRD PERSON P.O.V.
When the sun rose over Japan, John sat up in his bed and looked at his beautiful wife and saw that Marsau, in his footy Pajamas, snuck in during the night and plopped right in between his mommy and daddy. John smiled as he got up and walked into the bathroom and began running the water in the shower. The sound of the water running woke Toka up and she entered the Bathroom too and said to John, "Morning." John smiled as he walked up to his wife and kissed Toka passionately before he said, "Morning to you as well. You saw our son?" Toka nodded her head and said, "Must have joined us last night." John nodded his head and said, "That's what I thought too, Let's just hope this day's uneventful with bounties. I kind of want to spend the day with my wife and son, not to mention the future new addition."
Toka smiled as she laid her head on her husband's chest and said, "So do I John. How about the three of us go to the beach, relax for a few days, let the others get some bounties for a while." John smiled and said, "Even better, We'll go to my family's beach house in… Hawaii." John then slapped himself on the forehead when he said, "Why did I remember that place when we went on the honeymoon?! God damn it!" Toka chuckled before she said, "Language John, and I think it's a good Idea." Then John said, "Yeah, but if we went there first, we would have had our first child still." John then sat down on the floor with Toka sitting next to him. John then said, "If I had just remembered the beach house, then our first son would be…. Would be…" John couldn't finish as the tears filled his eyes. Toka wrapped her arm around John's shoulder and pulled him in as he cried in Toka's shoulders.
Toka then got onto John's lap and wrapped both of her arms around John's back as he wrapped his around her, not knowing that their son was awake and listening. Marsau then slowly got off the bed, took his daddy's phone and said, "Aunt Ritsu…" and when Ritsu appeared on John's phone, she saw Marsau and said, "Good morning Marsau, is everything okay?" Marsau made sure he was out of earshot and asked, "Did my mommy and daddy expect another baby before me?" Ritsu got a look of solemn on her face before she said, "Yes, they were expecting a child before you, but there was an incident on their honeymoon that caused your mommy to lose the baby. I shouldn't be telling you this, but a group of teenage delinquents surprised your mommy and daddy when they were about to start their day. Your daddy was taken out first then your mommy, the delinquents were caught and then sent to jail for assault, and manslaughter for the punk who cost Toka her first Child. But know this Marsau, you mommy and Daddy love you and you are, and will always be, their pride and Joy of a son, understood."
Marsau smiled as he nodded his head and went to put the phone back on his daddy's dresser before trying to sneak out until he heard his father say, "I was wondering where my phone went off too." Marsau turned around and saw his Mommy and Daddy standing at the Bathroom doorway. Toka then looked at John and said, "I told you it sprouted legs and ran off." John chuckled and asked Marsau to sit on the bed, which he did. John sat on one side of Marsau while Toka sat on the other side. John then asked Marsau why he took his phone and Marsau told him, "I overheard you and mommy talking about Hawaii and about your first son. I thought I was your first son?" Toka got Marsau's attention and said, "Technically, you are. You are our first living son. Yes, your father and I tried to have a child before you. But we lost him in Hawaii."
"Some punks got the jump on us and tried to take our money, but we stood our ground, I was the first to get knocked out, your mother was next, which in turn cost us the baby." John told Marsau. Then Toka said, "But on the same night, the child we lost came to us in our dreams and told us to be strong and not let his loss drive us apart." Marsau nodded his head as he listened to what his parents told him. John then pulled Marsau onto his lap and said, "Son, you know we love you with all our hearts. If your big brother was alive today we would have loved you and him equally, understand?" Marsau nodded his head and hugged his daddy.
John then told Marsau, "Well buddy, how would you like to go to the beach, in Hawaii?" Marsau smiled and shouted, "Fuck Yeah!" Causing both Toka and John to gasp. John then asked, "Young man, where did you hear the F-word?" and Marsau told his daddy, "Uncle Ryoma." John growled before he muttered, "I'm going to have to talk to Ryoma about this later." John then said to his son, "Listen Son, there are words that we should never say to anyone or about anything. The F-word you said is one of them, you mother and myself know them because that's what was said as we grew up. But we want you to grow up different;y, which is why we never say those words around you."
Toka nodded her head in agreement with John and said quietly, but not quiet enough for John not to hear, also in a joking manner, "Thought your Father kind of swears too much." John shot her a look before he said, "Like you don't swear as much as me." Toka chuckled as Marsau laughed. John then kissed Toka on the lips before saying to Marsau, "Well how about it Marsau, wanna go to Hawaii?" and Marsau nodded his head and said, "You bet mommy, I always wanted to go to Hawaii." John then said, "Then it's settled, I'll Call Uncle Gordon and tell him we'll be in Hawaii next weekend, should give him and the others time to prepare for our arrival." Toka nodded her head and asked, "Should we…" John knew where she was going with what she was trying to say and he said, "Bring up the fact that the original John was killed in an Explosion only to come back to life as a clone created in a secret Lab ran by the man who I thought was always evil? No, I think we'll leave that part out."
_X_ HUNTER CLASSROOM HEADQUARTERS _X_
After dropping Marsau off at School, since it was a monday, John and Toka arrived at the Hunter Classroom headquarters and saw Ritsu in her Techno-Organic Body. John smiled and said, "Hey Ritsu, how's the body working?" Ritsu ran up to them and jumped up and down as she said, "I Love it! I absolutely love it. I love Takebayashi for making it, I love him for being him, and I love being able to finally come with you guys on missions that doesn't involve me being on a phone." John and Toka sweatdropped before John said, "Okay… well, may we go inside now so we can talk to the others." Ritsu nodded her head and told John and Toka that Megu was moved to the Infirmary with Oba II from the Mount Fuji Lab. John and Toka walked into the Infirmary and saw the mother and Baby with Yuma visiting and Hadet was asleep in the bed next to her mommy.
"What's wrong with Hadet?" Toka asked Yuma, who replied, "She was running a fever today, so Megu and I thought it would be good to bring her here. As soon as I placed her in the bed, she fell asleep." John smiled as he saw his adoptive niece fall asleep. Yuma then said, "You know, Hadet and Marsau get along really well with each other, you think they could be a good couple?" John chuckled before he said, "Only time will tell my friend." Soon the familiar sound of a Portal opening was heard in the hallway. John went to investigate and saw a man who looked to be in his early 20s standing in front of an opened portal. Readying his Pistol, John asked, "Who are you?" When the man looked at John, a look of shock came over his face as the man said, "Dad?"
John dropped his gun before he took a few steps forward. Toka came out to see what the trouble was and a look of shock appeared on her face too as she saw the same person who John was looking at and an even bigger shock when the man said, "Mom?" Toka then joined her husband as they got a good look at the man who had the Portal Gun. John then said, "You look just like our son that visited us in the dream world when he was about 20 years old if our first child survived." Then the Man got a look of shock on his face when he said, "So I'm dead in this world?" Toka placed her hands over her mouth as she and John looked at each other before looking back at the man who was holding the Portal Gun as John said, "Does that mean, you are…" and the man nodded his head before he said, "Call me J.J., John Junior." John began to shed some tears before he pulled J.J. into a great big hug, followed by Toka and the two of them began to cry.
After a few good minutes of Crying, John and Toka had J.J. stand back to let them get a good look at him. John then said, "But… how?" and J.J. said, "Well, when you and mom got to Hawaii, you went to your family's beach house for the Honeymoon, you two walked along the beaches and fucked every night." John and Toka blushed at that comment before J.J. continued and said, "After the honeymoon, you, dad, partook in more bounties and eventually discovered plans for the Portal Gun. With Uncle Itona, you two were able to make the prototype Portal Gun and tested it out. That was 19 years ago in my universe." John then said, "How's that universe's version of me doing anyway?" but J.J. hung his head slightly before he said, "That's the thing, you've been missing for 19 years. When the portal gun was tested, you walked through and the Portal closed."
John was shocked, and listened as Toka asked, "Then how do you explain the Portal Gun in your hand?" J.J. looked at Toka and said, "Simple, I came here, in my universe, and found the blueprints for the Portal Gun that you and Uncle Itona made. I then made the gun myself with my girlfriend." But John stopped him right there and said, "Did I hear you say, girlfriend, who is she?" J.J. chuckled before he said, "It was Ota Okano." John looked at Toka and said, "I wonder if J.J. survived in this world he would have gotten with Ota." Toka shrugged her shoulders before looking at J.J. and said, "Continue, can I say son?"
"Yeah mom, you can say son. But anyway. Ota and I worked to build this portal Gun so I can find out what happened to Dad. After we tested the Gun, I packed a Bag of food for me and said Goodbye to Ota and told her that I would be back. I then began traversing Universe after Universe, trying to find my Dad. This is the twenty-second Universe I've been to." John then said, "Okay, well, let's see if he's in this one." John then called for Ritsu and when she appeared, J.J. was speechless when he saw her. J.J. then said, "Aunt Ritsu!" Ritsu was confused until John said, "Our first son from another universe where we didn't lose him. But anyway, I need you to search the past, after we reformed the Hunter Classroom, with your systems for any kind of Portal opening from another Universe, besides the one he opened and Young Nagisa and Young Kayano opened."
Ritsu nodded her head and after a while of searching, Ritsu smiled and said, "With what you asked for, I was able to find one other portal opening, Downtown Kyoto, recently actually" John nodded his head and said to J.J., "Let's go find your dad." J.J. smiled as he followed John to his Newly bought SUV to head to the Address the Portal was detected at. Along the way, John asked, "So, was… i around in your life?" and J.J. told him, "Yeah, you made sure that you were in my life as I was growing up until you disappeared. From them things went south, the Hunter Classroom disbanded, Mom got with Masayoshi and had a baby girl. Masayoshi has been a Jerk to me, and keeps praising his daughter. I tried talking to Mom, but she doesn't see it."
John nodded his head and said, "Well, when we find… me, tell him what's happened since he walked through the Portal. Besides, we're at the Coordinates." John then pulled over to the side and he and J.J. got out. Using John's phone, they walked into the Alleyway they parked in front of and John said, "According to this new Software that Takebayashi and Ritsu made, the Portal opened up…. Here." Pointing to part of the wall. J.J. and John looked around until J.J. said, "Found something!" John walked over to J.J. and saw footprints, and John said, "Can't be more than a few hours old, they lead that way." John pulled his pistol out and led J.J. in following the footprints to an abandoned house.
John looked back at J.J. and said, "Get my phone from my SUV, call Ritsu, and tell her to bring backup." J.J. nodded his head and went to John's SUV to get his phone while John went inside the abandoned House. John looked around and saw broken boards, bullet holes and Big holes in walls and blood drops along the floor leading up the stairs. After arriving at the top, JOhn heard a saw a body on the floor. When he checked it, he saw that it wasn't the other John and after checking for a pulse, he found none. Just then, he heard a Groan coming from a nearby room and when he opened the door, that was when he saw him. He saw himself, possibly the father of J.J., leaning against an old Bed. After making sure the area was cleared, John went to check on his alternate Reality self and said, "John, hey John, wake up." As he shook John, two tentacles slowly came out and John had Rock and Creed come out as well and gave the Tentacles a calm connection and John heard a voice say, "Who are you?"
Recognizing the voice as his own, John said, "I'm you from this universe, your son came here to try and find you and bring you home." Soon the John sitting on the bed smiled as he slowly opened his eyes and said, "I knew he would come find me, I'll have to apologize for being away from him for so long." John then told his alternate universal self, "Yeah, well, there's a lot that happened in your world according to J.J." The John from the other Universe gave John a confused look before John helped the clearly younger self up and back down the stairs and out the door. The two Johns then saw a bunch of Cars and Trucks pull in front of the building. The first to get out was Nagisa and he ran over to check on the other John.
"We really need to come up with a name for this one." Said Nagisa. That was when John said, "How about J.J.'s father, since it was him who placed the search for him in our laps." Nagisa nodded his head as John said, "We need to get him to the Headquarters to get healed up." Nagisa nodded his head as Karma said, "We'll do a search of the area to find who did this to him." John nodded his head and said, "Make sure you contact me if you have something." Karma nodded his head back as John and Nagisa helped the injured J.J.'s Father to Nagisa's Car. After getting him in the front seat, John said, "Make sure he gets to headquarters in one piece, I'm going back to my SUV to bring his son up."
Nagisa nodded his head and drove off as John walked up to his SUV where J.J. was at. J.J. asked John if they found his father and John said, "We did, I have Nagisa taking him to the Headquarters, I'm taking you to see him now." J.J. smiled as he got into the Front Passenger side seat of John's SUV as John walked around and began the drive back to headquarters.
_X_ HUNTER CLASSROOM HEADQUARTERS, LATER _X_
John watched as J.J. reunited with his father, who was surprised at how tall his son was. Toka hugged her husband close before she said, "I wonder how his wife will react seeing him alive after so long?" and John told her, "I wonder how Masayoshi will react." Then the John in the bed motioned for John and Toka to walk up to him. When they did, the John in the bed said, "Again, I want to thank you for coming to my aid." John smiled and said, "Don't mention it, we're both John after all." Then J.J. said, "Dad, I hope you get well fast, because Mom still loves you and told me that she's ready to divorce Masayoshi and remarry you." The John in the bed smiled and said, "Yeah, I believe it." Then John said, "A thought just crossed my mind." Everyone looked at John as he said, "What happened after you walked through the Portal?"
"Well, after I walked through the portal, it closed and the gun malfunctioned and blew up, a few of the pieces were caught in my arm, and with rock and Creed, The blast just majorly burnt my arm that was in the glove. Thank Goodness I'm trained in First Aid. Patched it up the best I could before I got into the house you found me in. Why do you ask?" That was when John said, "What if someone wanted you gone so they could be with Toka…" Then J.J. said, "Are you saying that Masayoshi caused my dad to disappear?" Before John could answer, another Portal opened behind John and Toka. When everyone looked at the Portal, a version of Toka walked through with her own Portal Gun and saw J.J. She then said, as she walked over to J.J., "John Robert Bertrand Jr, why the hell did you…" but she stopped when she saw John, her John, lying in the bed.
Toka placed her Portal Gun down before placing her hands on her John's cheeks and began to shed Tears. The John on the bed placed his hand on Toka's cheek and wiped away the tears as he said, "You know tears will hide your true beauty, my sweet, lovely Toka." Toka then wrapped her arms around John's neck and said, "John, I… I…. I always knew. I always knew you were alive somewhere." Then John in the bed and his Toka then shared a passionate, but short Kiss. When they parted, John said, "Our son told me that you married Masayoshi." Toka nodded her head and said, "He was the only other person there for me." That was when John said, "Well here's the thing J.J.'s mom, I think that Masayoshi might have sabotaged your John's Portal Gun to immediately close and blow up to make sure John didn't come home."
"What? How can you be so sure?" asked J.J.'s mom. John replied, "I can't be a hundred percent sure. But from what I gathered, I believe Masayoshi had feelings for you and was heartbroken when he found out you and J.J.'s Dad were a couple." That was when J.J. said, "I actually overheard him admitting it over the phone to one of his friends, but with no proof I was stuck." J.J.'s mom then said, "The Bastard. When we get back to our universe I'm gonna kill him!" But Toka placed her hand's on JJ's mom's shoulders before she said, "Relax, just get enough Evidence that he did it and give it to Mr. Karasuma." JJ's mom realized the point in Toka's words, so she took a big breath in and let it out before she said, "Right, of course. Thank you."
John then added, "We also have to wait until J.J.'s dad is fully better." But J.J.'s dad said, "No, I can walk, I bet seeing me will make him admit it." John looked at JJ's Dad and said, "Are you sure? What if he tries something, maybe I should go too." but JJ's dad raised his hand and said, "No, dealing with Masayoshi is something I must do without outside Universal help." Then John said, "Damn it John, you need to look at the facts, two Johns are better than one." But JJ's dad said, "Look, you and I are the same person, so you know that we Johns are stubborn as hell." John clenched his fists before he said, "I hate it when I'm right when i'm arguing with myself." JJ's Dad nodded his head and said, "Exactly, we might be back to visit someday, goodbye John." The two John's shook hands before JJ's Dad took JJ's Mom's hand and the three of them; JJ, JJ's dad, and JJ's Mom, walked through the Portal and it closed behind them.
"It was good to see him again after the dream." John said to Toka. Toka nodded her head and said, "I just want to know how that version of you convinced the version of me to name him J.J." John chuckled as Nagisa, who was quiet through the whole situation, walked up to John and Toka and said, "Not to mention about Masayoshi, what if he hates the fact you two are together in this universe." John looked at Nagisa and said, "Maybe, I don't know, we can ask him. From what I've seen, if I don't come into your life, I think you and Masayoshi would have gotten together." Toka looked at John and said, "really?" John nodded his head and said, "Yeah, it's just a theory is all." Soon a Portal opened and a John that was once in the bed walked through, about the age his Toka was when she came through. John said to JJ's Dad, "Two questions. One, How are you this tall? Two, What are you doing here?"
"First answer, Itona, Takebayashi, and Okuda made a device that increased my age and height. Second answer, I wanted to tell you that you were right, it was Masayoshi, he admitted to it the moment he saw me. He said that I should have been dead. When Toka asked if Masayoshi was responsible for the Portal closing on me, he said and I quote, "Since he's back and alive, yes. It was me, I knew that if I altered the Portal Gun to explode, the Portal would close before the Gun blew up and he would be dead." Toka then divorced him, remarried me, we got custody of their daughter and Masayoshi was sentenced to 10-25 years in prison." John smiled at JJ's Dad and said, "Well, at least you're back with your family."
"Yeah, I am, and I have you guys to thank for that, Until the next time we meet." said JJ's dad as he and John shook hands before JJ's dad walked back through the portal and it closed. John then said to Toka, "It was nice of him to let us know." Toka nodded her head and said, "Yeah, so what do you want to do now?" Before John could speak, Ritsu came in and said, "My Systems just got a bounty Alert." John sighed and said, "So much for the Bounty free day." Then Nagisa said, "Don't worry John, you and Toka enjoy the day, I'll get the team together to catch the bounty."
"Really, thanks Nagisa." Said John before he and Toka walked out. Nagisa then said, "Who's the Target Ritsu?" and She said, "An Italian by the name of Teodoto Balducci, Leader of the New Italy Movement, a radical Group trying to make Italy what it was during World War 2. I checked the list of members of the I40T, and Teodoto Balducci is a member of it. For a group with 40 in the name, it's big. With the Laptop taken from Osmar and Shannon, we have the names for everyone in the group." Nagisa nodded his head and said, "What's the bounty price?" Ritsu checked before she said, "The Price on his head is €100,000 Euros. I Did the Conversion and it equals ¥12402746.69 Yen."
"Okay, get Ryoma, Hiroto, Taiga, Tomohito, Yuzuki, Karma, Takuya, Ryu, Rinka, and do you want to join in the mission Ritsu?" said Nagisa. Ritsu smiled and said, "Yes, I would very much like to join on this, I want to see how I do in this body." Nagisa smiled as he asn Ritsu left the Infirmary to go and catch Teodoto Balducci.
