Chapter 11

Getting Much Needed Information

Hours after the attack. Reiner stood with arms crossed looking in the interigation room where one of the attackers were. They were wrapped in a straight jacket. Zeke had informed him Evelyn was at home with the kids and all were safe. Pieck came up to him.

"Magath said we will interigate them tomorrow. Go home." Pieck said. Reiner sighed. "You do know you have a house full of kids." Reiner chuckled.

"Zeke did warn me. Hopefully they weren't bad for Evelyn especially Gabi." Reiner said.

"Those kids love her. Gabi seemed to warm up to her somehow." Pieck said. Reiner raised an eyebrow. "Its already late at night. Go get some sleep." Reiner looked back at the person and turned to leave.

Home. Reiner opened the door. He nearly tripped over something on the floor. He looked down and almost chuckled. The kids were spread out across the floor with blankets and pillows. Evelyn was passed out on the couch with a book in her hand. Reiner headed into the kitchen.

Evelyn woke up to the door closing. She sat up to see the kids all asleep on the floor. She saw movement towards the kitchen. Evelyn pulled the blanket off her and got up. She slipped past the kids. Reiner had his back to her as he looked for food. She slipped behind him and wrapped her arms around him from behind. Reiner turned around and wrapped her in in his arms. She hissed a bit from the bruises on her back from the fight.

"You alright?" Reiner asked.

"Just some bruises from a fight with one of those people." Evelyn said. Reiner pulled her against him, careful of her back.

"Just glad your alright." Reiner said. Evelyn pulled away.

"They were after me and the kids." Evelyn said. Reiner looked at her in shock.

"Why?" Reiner said.

"To turn us into them. To do it to the kids? I just don't understand." Evelyn said.

"They are next to inherit one of the nine. Wouldn't doubt the enemy knows. Your what most call Island Devil, but you dating me. They are looking to use you guys against us." Reiner said, pinching the bridge of his nose. Evelyn came up to him and grabbed his shirt, pulling him closer to her.

"Don't kick yourself. The kids are safe and I'm here. We're not going anywhere right now." Evelyn said. Reiner hugged her. He sighed.

"What's gonna happen if you get the chance to go to Paradis?" Reiner asked. Evelyn sighed as she laid her head on his chest.

"Take you with me." Evelyn said. Reiner chuckled.

"You know I can't." Reiner said.

"I'll find a way to bring you with, Reiner. I will. But we will cross that river when we get to it." Evelyn said. Reiner pressed a kiss to her forehead.

"Lets go lay on the couch and get some sleep. Your coming with to Headquarters." Reiner said. The two slipped into the living room and slipped past the kids. Reiner laid down on the couch and Evelyn laid in front of him with her back to him. She was surprised the couch could fit them both as Reiner pulled the blanket over them and wrapped his arms around her. Gabi and Zofia were curled up together near the couch. Falco was sleeping by the fireplace and Udo was asleep by the window. "Were they good for you?"

"They were. They helped me make food, but they were worried about you and the others. Gabi was worried about you." Evelyn said.

"Well we'll surprise them tomorrow. Let them sleep." Reiner said. He pressed a kiss to her check. Evelyn turned her head and pressed a kiss to his lips. He kissed her back. "Get some sleep, Eve." Evelyn felt him pull her tight against his chest. They both fell asleep.

"Reiner!" The kids jump on the two as the sun woke them up. Evelyn grunted as Reiner grumbled.

"Everyone okay?"

"Did you kill them all?"

"When's breakfast."

"Let them wake up.

"Shut up!" Reiner yelled. The kids went quiet. Reiner sat up as Evelyn couldn't get up with Gabi almost laying on top of her. "We are heading to Headquarters. Let's get breakfast made." The kids ran to the kitchen. Reiner sighed. Evelyn chuckled. "What?"

"Your good with kids. Ever think of having one?" Evelyn said.

"I haven't thought of it, honestly." Reiner said. Evelyn went to get up and Reiner pulled her against him. "But being with you, I want maybe one before I have to transfer my Titan. Not anytime soon yet. I got 7 years." Evelyn smiled and she kissed him.

"Eww." The kids said. Reiner and Evelyn chuckled.

Headquarters. Evelyn stood with Pieck outside one of the interigation rooms. Reiner and Zeke were in the room. The kids were helping Colt with the debree. Magath joined them.

"Did they get anything?" Magath asked.

"Not yet." Pieck said. Evelyn watched Reiner. He didn't look happy and she didn't blame him. They were getting no where.

"Who sent you?" Zeke said. The woman sat there in a straight Jacket and didn't answer. Magath tapped the window. Reiner stood up and stepped out with Zeke.

"We're not getting anywhere with anyone of them." Zeke said. Magath didn't look happy. Reiner stood with his arms crossed.

"Maybe we should bring up them wanting Evelyn and the kids." Reiner said. Everyone looked at Reiner.

"He's right. They wanted me and the kids to turn into one of them. It might work, Commander." Evelyn said, looking at Magath. Galliard joined them. Magath looked at Reiner and then Evelyn.

"If its a way to get out information then do what you got to." Magath said. Reiner and Zeke nodded. Zeke and Reiner went back in. Evelyn looked back. Reiner leaned against the wall this time with his arms crossed.

"So let's bring another subject in. Why does your boss want Evelyn Jaeger and the Warrior Canidates?" Zeke asked. The woman smirked.

"We got her." Galliard said.

"Just for some fun." The woman said.

"What kind of fun." Reiner nearly growled. The woman smirked at him.

"You know. Turn them into one of us." The woman said. Magath turned.

"I'm getting the kids in a room with a guard. Evelyn. Your gonna be coming from now on with Reiner to Headquarters." Magath said.

"Yes, Commander." Evelyn said.

"Who are you working for?" Zeke said. The woman leaned back.

"You met him." The woman said.

"Magath. You might want to hear this." Pieck said. Magath came over. Evelyn has a stinking feeling she knew who it was. Reiner put his hands on the table. He was not in the best of moods.

"I'm not playing games. Who is it?" Reiner asked.

"He was the one that asked to take the Island Whore off your hands." The woman said. Reiner slammed his hands on the table. The woman jumped. Evelyn clenched her jaw. "But I also think you might want some more information of a former Titan shifter." The woman was smirking. "I think her name was Ymir." Reiner and Evelyn's eyes widen.

"What about Ymir?" Reiner said. Magath looked tense.

"Oh that she's alive and out of her coma when your army dumped her in our country." The woman said. Pieck and Evelyn turned on Magath. "We're willing to trade Ymir for the Island Whore."

"This meeting is over." Zeke said. Zeke and Reiner stepped out.

"I think we need an explanation." Evelyn said. Reiner was looking at Magath.

"How the hell is Ymir alive?" Reiner said. Magath didn't look thrilled. "Commander. What have you kept from me. I was told Ymir was gone after passing the Jaw Titan to Porco and this woman is saying she's alive."

"I think you should tell them." Zeke said. Magath sighed.

"My office. Now." Magath ordered.

Magath's office. It was big enough to hold everyone. Evelyn stood with her arms crossed in front of the door.

"Galliard never fully ate Ymir. He nawed on her and left her in a coma state. We dropped her in another country, not wanting anything to do with her. We didn't think she would survive." Magath said. Evelyn felt her heart leap a bit. Her friend was alive. Historia would be thrilled to know she survived. "We know who is sending them. We need to put a stop to it."

"Let me go." Evelyn said. Everyone turned towards her. "I can hold them off till you guys get there. Let the woman take me and I can try and get information."

"No. Out of the question." Reiner said.

"Whether you like it or not. I'm part of this. I discovered the exploding bodies. Plus they want me. If we want to end this then I'm the best bet." Evelyn said.

"She's right." Zeke said. Reiner wanted to strangle someone. Magath stroked his chin. Reiner looked at Magath.

"Commander. Do you really want to risk this. She is an asset to get Eren to come to us." Reiner said. Evelyn glared at him.

'So I am still an asset.' Evelyn thought. Pieck had to bite her lip from laughing seeing Evelyn looking pissed off.

"I hate to agree with Evelyn, but its the only option we have. Send her with the woman to the General, but we will have to figure out a plan to get her and Ymir out." Magath said.

"Commander." Reiner said. Magath glared at Reiner.

"She can handle herself in a fight. I'm sure she won't let them turn her into one of those soldiers." Magath said.

"I won't, sir." Evelyn said. Evelyn stepped out into the hall and leaned against it. She felt unease.

'What the hell am I getting myself into.' Evelyn thought. Reiner stepped out and grabbed her arm a little rough.

"Hey." Evelyn said. Reiner pulled her towards his office. Reiner slammed the door shut.

"Are you fucking nuts?" Reiner said. Evelyn stood with her arms crossed as she glared at him. She leaned against his desk.

"You dragged me here against my will and you expect me to sit around and do nothing when I can help with this. They want me. Not you or the others. Or would you rather I have her take one of the kids?" Evelyn asked. Reiner pinched the bridge of his nose. "After all I'm just an asset to you and your military." Reiner sighed, knowing those words were going to come back and kick him in the ass. Reiner came over and wrapped her in his arms. She wrapped her arms around him as they stood together.

"Your not an asset to me, Eve. I just don't want you hurt or worse. Eren would never forgive me." Reiner said.

"You really think he would approve of this relationship we got. Think he have both our heads." Evelyn said. Reiner chuckled. Reiner pulled away and looked at her. Her green eyes looked up at him.

"Just don't get turned into one of them before I get there with the others." Reiner said.

"I won't. Just don't take to long getting there." Evelyn said. Reiner pulled her into a kiss. She returned it.
