Chapter 12
Rescue Mission
It took a week. So far all the people captured were stable but they had them all in seperate buildings. Evelyn was part of the planning to try and get to the General. Reiner had bags under his eyes from lack of sleep. He was worried about this. Evelyn didn't miss it. No one missed it. Everyone was on edge.
Evelyn was leaving that night to go where the General was waiting with the woman. The others were not going. The story was the woman escaped and captured Evelyn and headed to the meeting point that she was to meet the General.
Reiner didn't like the plan that none of the soldiers were going with Evelyn. He was getting more pissed off then usual. He slammed his fist on his desk.
"Damnit." Reiner grumbled.
"Calm down. You know she will be fine." Pieck said, coming in.
"I don't like her going on her own." Reiner said. Evelyn came in with Galliard. Evelyn had bags under her eyes from not sleeping. She didn't show it but she was worried about this mission as much as Reiner. Reiner's eyes soften when he saw her.
"Magath said you can follow them for a bit till they get close." Galliard said. Reiner sat at his desk with arms crossed. Reiner sighed.
"Guys. Give us a moment." Evelyn said. Pieck and Galliard slipped out. Evelyn walked up to Reiner. He looked at her. She took his face in her hands. "I'll be fine. Stop worrying." Reiner pulled her down onto his lap.
"I know you will, but try and not be turned into one of them. Last till we get there." Reiner said. Evelyn nodded.
"I will." Evelyn whispered. Reiner pulled her to him and pressed his lips against hers as they kissed.
At sunset. Reiner and Evelyn stood waiting for the woman to be brought them by Galliard. Reiner held her arm gently. They both didn't want to leave each others side. Evelyn had a calm look on her face, but she was nervous and scared deep down. Reiner squeezed her arm gently. She looked up at him. He had a worried look on his face. Reiner pulled her into a hug. Evelyn closed her eyes as her body relaxed as she hugged him back.
"You two are gonna make me sick." Galliard said, coming over with the woman. The woman had handcuffs on. Reiner pressed a kiss to Evelyn's forehead.
"Might want to uncuff me or it will be suspicious." The Woman said as Reiner let Evelyn go.
"Tch." Galliard said, but he uncuffed her. The woman rubbed her wrists and looked at Evelyn. Reiner gritted his teeth.
"Let's go. The General doesn't like to wait." The Woman said. Reiner didn't look thrilled.
"Let's get this over with." Evelyn said. The woman looked at Reiner.
"He set up a base secretly in Liberio. I can show you where it is so you can let the others know." The woman said. Reiner didn't looked thrilled, but nodded. The woman grabbed Evelyn's arm hard and they started walking. Galliard watched with not a thrilled look on his face. They walked for awhile with Reiner folowing behind. Evelyn looked back a few times. "We're here." Evelyn looked at a huge warehouse. It was near the ocean. Reiner frown deepened.
"Here. Right under our noses." Reiner whispered.
"We been here since we sent the first attack, under different names." The Woman said. Evelyn and Reiner share looks.
"I'll head back. Evelyn. Be careful. And you. If anything happens to her, I'll find a way to kill you." Reiner growled. The woman glared at him. She opened a door and Evelyn followed her in. Evelyn took one last look at Reiner before the door closed behind her. Reiner had a bad feeling. He turned around and found Pieck and Galliard behind him. "What are you guys doing here?"
"We're going in after her." Pieck said.
"We are disobeying a direct command if we go in." Reiner said. Galliard snorted.
"Like you weren't thinking the same thing." Galliard said. Reiner looked back. "I don't trust that woman. Evelyn may be a Island Devil but I don't think she deserves to be one of them." Reiner sighed.
"Reiner. We worry for her as well. Porco won't admit it. We're going in with you." Pieck said. Reiner smiled. Galliard didn't look happy, but he nodded.
"Let's go." Reiner said as the three enter the warehouse.
Evelyn was led down a lit cooridor. Evelyn scanned the area as she went.
"Stay close and don't look suspicious." The woman said.
"Why are you willing to help us?" Evelyn asked.
"I got a daughter back home. I don't follow orders they threaten to turn her into one of us or worse." The woman said. Evelyn felt her heart sink.
"How old?" Evelyn said.
"She's five." The woman said, not looking back. Evelyn hated when kids were pulled into wars or fights. "You have any kids?"
"No. Maybe someday." Evelyn said in a whisper. The woman nodded and opened a door. She grabbed Evelyn's arm a little harder and pulled her in. The room looked like a labatory that Hange would kill for. Evelyn bit her lip.
"Well you are defently more pretty up close." A voice said as the door slammed shut behind them, making Evelyn jump. She looked behind her and saw the General standing there with an evil smirk on his face.
Reiner pulled the soldiers into room after knocking them out with Galliard's help.
"So find if the rumor is true with Ymir and also try and find Evelyn." Galliard said after they change into the soldiers uniforms. Reiner had found a soldier that was almost his same built. Reiner stepped out of the room. He had a bad feeling.
'Just find out if Ymir is really here and get Evelyn the hell out of here.' Reiner thought.
Evelyn felt her arm be let go and she backed away from the General. She felt someone grab her from behind. She elbowed the person in the stomach. She heard a grunt and he let her go.
"Fiesty to. I heard you were trained by the Armor Titan and the Female Titan." The General said. Evelyn looked at him. He had a cocky smirk on his ugly face.
"Yes. Whats it to you?" Evelyn asked. The Generals grin smirk grew and Evelyn had to bite her lip from nerves. He came up to her and she couldn't move with the man behind her. He reached out and touched her face and she turned her head away from him.
"Make you into one of my soldiers, beautiful and have some fun." The General said. He was close. Evelyn spit in his face. Some of the guards move forward.
"I am not some toy to be used as a weapon." Evelyn said. The general back handed her and Evelyn felt her check sting hard. The General grabbed her face hard.
"Your an Island Whore. Liberio wants you nothing more then to get the Founder back. Soon as they get what they want they will kill you or throw you back to Paradis Island. Your nothing to them. So I don't know what that idiot sees in you." The General said. Evelyn looked towards the door.
'Hurry up, guys. I don't know how long I can hold him off.' Evelyn thought as soldiers stood around.
Reiner gritted his teeth. The place was big. Where the hell would they be hiding Ymir and they needed to hurry. They already found where Evelyn was.
"We're running out of time." Reiner growled.
"Maybe the woman was lying to us to lure us into a trap." Galliard said. Pieck was looking around.
"Let's go a little further. If we don't find her we get Evelyn out." Pieck said. Reiner grumbled but didn't argue. They walked further. A door opened and a soldier came out dragging a woman with tan skin and freckles.
"No need to drag me out." Ymir growled.
"Just shut up.." The Soldier sees Reiner, Pieck, and Galliard looking at Ymir in shock. Ymir's eyes widen when she reconized Reiner. "Your no one I know. Intruders!" Reiner swore under his breath as someone heard the yell and pushed the alarms. Soldiers came running.
Evelyn felt her blood run cold as the alarms went. The General had her face in a vice grip.
'Damn it.' Evelyn thought as her eyes widen as the General let her go and turned on the woman.
"You led the enemy here!" The General snapped.
"They must of followed. She's important to them. You think they would let her be taken." The woman said. The General backhanded her.
"I will make you unstable and you will destroy the Military Headquarters." The General snarled. Evelyn jumped on the Generals back and wrapped her arms around him.
"No you will not." Evelyn said. The General grabbed her arms and threw her hard into a wall. She grunted as her back collided with the wall. She hit the ground.
"Island Bitch." General said, coming over and grabbing her by the shirt as she tried to pull herself up. Evelyn aimed a kick hard at his groin. He dropped her and she landed on her feet. Soldiers ran at her. Evelyn dodged their attacks and flipped one of the soldiers over her shoulder.
Reiner slammed a man into the wall. Soldiers were laying on the ground bloody and bruised. Ymir had freed herself from the soldier and had one soldier pinned to the ground.
"Why are you guys here?" Ymir asked.
"Looking for you and also trying to stop these guys before they destroy more lives." Reiner said. All the soldiers were down. "Let's get to Evelyn."
"Wait. Evelyn is here? Why is she here and not in Paradis?" Ymir snapped. Yells came from down the hall.
"No time to explain. We need to get to Evelyn and capture the General." Galliard said. Ymir glared at Galliard. Reiner and them ran down the hall and Reiner explained why Evelyn was here.
"You guys really are using her as a tool against Eren?" Ymir said.
"She's happy here now that her and Reiner are dating." Pieck said.
"Well about time you two got together. He's been crushing on her since back in Military days." Ymir said.
"Let's gush about it later." Reiner growled. They reached the doors and found them lock. "Damn it!"
"They locked after the alarms went off." Galliard said. Reiner opened his mouth to say something when a shrill whistle comes from the door. Reiner reconized it as Evelyn's horse call.
"Damnit! Get Ymir out of the way." Reiner said, gritting his teeth.
"Reiner. I don't.." Galliard said
"You got any other idea of how to break the door." Reiner growled. Pieck gulped. They knew they had no choice. Galliard pulled Ymir out of the way as Reiner bit into his hand.
Few Minutes before. Evelyn felt her back hit the floor as a man slammed into her. Soldiers lay on the ground groaning in pain. The General was ` pulling himself off the ground. The man on top of me pinned me.
"Ooh. Such a pretty face. Can I have fun with her?" The man said. Evelyn's eyes widen as his fingers trailed down her check. She was not willing to be raped or worse by this man. Evelyn tried to kick out but the man had her legs pinned.
"You can have all the fun with her after we turn her into one." The General said, pulling a syringe out of the drawer of his desk.
"How did you come up with this? You don't look smart enough to do it." Evelyn said, glaring at the General. The General smirked.
"We had one of our Scientists create it. We inject more then normal and we make them unstable and make them explode, killing people in the area." The General said. Evelyn felt the breath of the man on her face as he lowered his face. The General was getting closer with the syringe ready. Evelyn headbutted the man.
"Fuck. My nose." The Man said, loosening his grip on her arm. Evelyn pulled her arm free. Evelyn put her two fingers in her mouth and did her whistle that she used to call her horse back home. She knew Reiner would reconize it. A stinging pain runs under her eye as the man punches her in the face.
"What the hell was that?" Another soldier asked. Evelyn smirked.
"Hold her down. She called..." The General never finished as gold light came from under the door and Evelyn, whose legs were free from headbutting the man, kicked the man off her as the wall exploded. She covered her head from debree.
"It's the Armored!" Soldiers yelled.
"Eve!" Pieck and Galliard yelled. A hand reaches out for her and picks her up. She looks up into the Armored Titans face.
"Reiner." Evelyn said with a smile.
Inside Reiner's Titan. Reiner sighed in relief seeing her okay, but a bruise was forming on her check.
"Evelyn." Ymir called coming out of the smoke with Pieck and Galliard. Evelyn's eyes lit up seeing her friend.
"Ymir!" Evelyn called. The General was pulling himself out of the rubble. Galliard and Pieck got in front of Ymir. The woman that took Evelyn was leaning against the wall. Steam came out of the Armored Titan's nose and he still had Evelyn in his hand. The General had blood pouring from a wound in his head. The syrum was in his hand as he goes to put it in his arm. Evelyn's eyes widen.
"We need to go." Evelyn said. The woman tackled the General to the ground. The Armored Titan stood up and put Evelyn on his shoulder. Evely knelt on his shoulder with her hand to his check. A yell comes and the General puts the needle into the woman's neck and injected the full syrum into her. "No!"
"Pieck transform and get Ymir and Evelyn out of here." Galliard called. Ymir moved as Pieck transformed into the Cart. Evelyn felt Reiner grab her. The woman's skin was glowing red and it was getting darker.
"Galliard. You and Reiner get out of here as well." Ymir said as Evelyn was set in front of Ymir.
"Get out of here." The woman said through gritted teeth. Evelyn opens her mouth but the Cart runs up behind them and grabs Ymir and Evelyn in its mouth and closes the mouth. Evelyn gritted her teeth as the Cart takes off. Reiner reaches for the General and grabs him. Galliard runs after the cart The General struggled to get out the Armored Titans hand. The Womans body was completly red. "GO!" Reiner took off but an explosion rocks through the room sending the Armored Titan Flying.
Evelyn slipped out of the mouth with Ymir as the building suddenly exploded.
"Reiner!" Evelyn yelled, running towards it, but Galliard grabbed her. "Let me go!" Evelyn slammed her arm into his gut and Galliard grunted, but held onto her.
"Damn it. Evelyn. Stop struggling." Galliard said. Someone was coming out of the smoke and Evelyn stopped struggling. Reiner came out of the smoke, dragging the General behind him. Galliard let Evelyn go. She ran up to Reiner who let go of the General and threw her arms around his neck. Reiner wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her against his chest.
"You made it out before the explosion?" Pieck said.
"Barely. The explosion knocked me off my feet. It knocked the General out from the impact." Reiner said. Gun cocks came and Evelyn looked up. Soldiers came out from behind them.
"Stand down." Magath said, coming out. Reiner and Evelyn let each other go. Galliard grabbed the General. "You disobeyed orders to wait."
"We waited any longer she would of been transformed into one of them. We got the General, but lost all the evidence." Reiner said. Magath's eyes lowered on the General, who was out cold.
"He's right Commander." Evelyn said. Magath sighed.
"Get the General back to Headquarters and get these two girls a shower and a break. You all need it." Magath said. Reiner pulled Evelyn to his side and they walked away from the scene. Reiner pressed a kiss to Evelyn's head as she wrapped her arms around him. They had stopped the General and both were safe. Reiner defently was going to need a vacation or something after this.
