Chapter 14
Beach House
"Finally." Pieck said as they climb onto the porch of the Beach House. The Boys had their bags while the girls ran ahead. Pieck fell on the couch in the house. Evelyn fell next to her.
"Oh. You two get to relax and make us men work." Galliard said as him and Reiner lugged the bags in. Evelyn chuckled. Reiner playfully rolled his eyes. Reiner sits down on the couch next to Evelyn and pulls her against him.
"We should go get food for here since we will be here for a week." Evelyn said. Reiner's stomached growled making the girls giggle. Reiner chuckled.
"Evelyn and I will go get us food. You boys try and unpack. Just leave my bag on the bed." Pieck said.
"And try and get along while we're gone." Evelyn said. She kissed Reiner's check and the girls step out of the house. The girls head into town. "Should they be alright till we get back?"
"They should be." Pieck said, but she didn't sound so sure. "Let's least get the alchol for the week with the food. Think Galliard will need it." Evelyn chuckled. They shopped for a few hours and came back with their arms full of bags. Reiner ran out to help the girls get the food and stuff in. Pieck and Evelyn put food away.
"Yes." Galliard grabbed the bottle of wine.
"Your not drinking it all." Evelyn said, snatching it out of Galliard's hand. Galliard pouted.
"Besides you can't control your alchol intake." Reiner said, coming up behind me. He wrapped his arms around me and held me to his chest. Galliard rolled his eyes.
"I can last longer then Colt with alchol." Galliard siad. Reiner went to go open his mouth.
"You guys gonna argue or help make dinner." Pieck said. Evelyn slipped past the two and went to help Pieck get food ready for dinner.
The boys got a fire going on the beach as the girls made food.
"After everything we went through. We defently deserve this." Evelyn said. Pieck nodded. Evelyn looked out the window to see Reiner being poked with a fire poker by Galliard. "Man. I swear those two act like kids when together." Pieck looked out the window. She chuckled. They all sat down to eat.
"Reiner has grown up after being on the island, but he's matured with you in his life, Evelyn." Pieck said. Evelyn smiled. Reiner grabbed the poker from Galliard and tossed it. Galliard didn't look happy.
That night after food was eaten. Reiner and Evelyn laid curled together near the fire. Both were wrapped in a quilt as Evelyn laid her head on Reiner's shoulder. He kept his arm wrapped around her. Pieck and Galliard were sharing a bottle of wine. Evelyn smiled seeing Galliard having glassed over eyes and his checks were red.
"Well he's drunk." Evelyn said. Reiner shook his head at Pieck, who just gave him a smirk.
"Well Evelyn. You fell in love with the biggest Git of the Warriors. I'm sure if I got the Armored Titan instead of Reiner. You would of fell for me." Galliard slurred. Reiner glared at him and tightened his arm around Evelyn.
"Porco. I think you had enough." Reiner growled.
"I'm just stating the obvious. Clearly I'm a better warrior then you are." Galliard said. The tension between the two was unnerving. Reiner tightened his arm around Evelyn. Evelyn and Pieck share worried looks.
"I think you had enough Porco." Pieck said, trying to take the bottle from him, but he yanked it away from her.
"Will you stop calling me that!" Galliard said.
"Your just jealous I got the Armored over you. Least you didn't have to wait 13 years to inherit one of them, like you told me before we got the powers." Reiner said. Galliard ran at Reiner, who pushed Evelyn away as Galliard tackled Reiner to the ground and they started wrestling. Evelyn sighed. Galliard started punching Reiner.
"You fucking cheated to get the Armored." Galliard said. Reiner grabbed his fist, suddenly Galliard froze like he was seeing something.
"What's happening?" Evelyn asked.
"He might be seeing one of is predasesars memories." Pieck said. Reiner glared up at Galliard.
"You saw Marcel's memories." Reiner said. Evelyn saw tears in Galliard's eyes.
"He lied to the press so I wouldn't get the Armored. So I was suppose to get it!" Galliard said.
"He did it to protect you!" Reiner said. Galliard grabbed Reiner by the collar.
"Porco!" Evelyn and Pieck said as Galliard punched Reiner harder in the face.
"So I was a better Warrior then you! I should of gotten it and my brother would still be alive!" Galliard said. Pieck and Evelyn grabbed Galliard and yanked him off Reiner. "Get off me!" Evelyn got in front Reiner as Galliard lifted his fist. He stopped.
"It doesn't matter what happened in the past. Your brother was protecting you. You really think anyone wants to have this curse of living 13 years and dying when the time is up! I wouldn't. I know how proctective brothers can be. Eren was the same with me, but doesn't mean you beat Reiner up for getting the Armored Titan." Evelyn said. Galliard looked down. Evelyn knelt next to Reiner. His face was bloody, but steam was starting to rise from his face.
"She's right." Reiner groaned. Galliard looked at him. "My cousin wants to inherit the Armored and I don't want her to suffer the same fate as me. Evelyn has 7 years with me. I want to enjoy the years I got left with her before my time is up. Don't go blaming me for what your brother did. I was ready to wait 13 years to inherit one, but it took me off guard getting it." Galliard pulled free of Pieck and stormed back to the house. Reiner felt hands on his face.
"Looks like your healing. You'll be alright." Evelyn said.
"Help me to the house." Reiner said. Evelyn helped him up. He wrapped his arm around her and they walked to the Beach House. She got him into their bed for the week. Reiner pulled her onto the bed. "I'm sorry for pushing his buttons."
"He more started it. I'm not mad at you. More him." Evelyn said, pressing a kiss to his check. Reiner wrapped his arms around her waste. His face was healing well. Evelyn burried her face in Reiner's chest as sleep took her.
Sun peaked through the windows. Evelyn's eyes open. She was facing the window. Reiner had his arms wrapped around her and face burried in her neck. She goes to sit up, but Reiner pulls her down.
"Reiner." Evelyn gasped as he rolled over so he was above her.
"Morning, beautiful." Reiner said with a playful smirk on his face.
"Morning." Evelyn said. Reiner pressed a kiss to her lips. He pulled back but she wrapped her hand around his neck and pulled him down and kissed him, hard. Reiner's hand slipped into her hair. Reiner pulled away and trailed kisses down her neck. Evelyn ran her fingers through his hair.
A knock on the door came and Reiner groaned into her neck.
"Time to get up, love birds. Breakfast is ready." Galliard called.
"They had to come with." Evelyn grumbled. Reiner leaned up and kissed her lips.
"It was that or we weren't coming." Reiner said. He got off and got changed. Evelyn changed into her clothes.
The two joined the others in the kitchen. Galliard had a smirk on his face. Reiner punched him.
"Ow. What was that for?" Galliard said.
"For bothering us." Evelyn said. Galliard glared at Reiner.
After Breakfast. Reiner and Evelyn walked on the beach. They held hands as they walked. Both had their shoes off and were walking in the water. Reiner let go of her hand gently to wrap his arm around Evelyn. He pulled her against his side and pressed a kiss to her forehead.
"Its nice to get away for awhile from work." Evelyn said.
"It is, but war is starting to rage in Marley." Reiner siad. Evelyn groaned. "I might be called away at times."
"They really think your weak with just three of the shifters." Evelyn said.
"Yes." Reiner said.
"Reiner. What would happen if Paradis took all shifters?" Evelyn said. Reiner looked at her.
"I don't know. Never thought of it. Might be a way to talk to Paradis without starting a war." Reiner said. Evelyn had to bite her lip from smiling. It could be a way if Paradis ever shows up to consider and bring Reiner with her. "I don't want to think of you going back to Paradis. I'm happy with you here."
"I am also, but I don't want to leave you." Evelyn said. Reiner stopped her and grabbed her chin.
"Then don't go if they come for you. Or keep your word that you'll bring me with." Reiner said. Evelyn took his face in her hands.
"I will. I love you." Evelyn said. Reiner pulled her against him and kissed her lips. She wrapped her arms around his neck as she deepened it. Unknown to them. They were being watched.
