Chapter 15

Beach House Trouble

It was late at night when Evelyn woke up to something. Reiner had his arms wrapped around her waste. Evelyn turned her head. There was footsteps on the porch.

"Reiner." Evelyn said, shaking him. Reiner sat up.

"What is.." Reiner stopped when he heard the footsteps too. "Can we get a break for once? Stay here." Reiner was out of bed and throwing on a shirt, but Evelyn was right behind him. "Damnit Eve." Something flies through their window and explodes into flames. Reiner pulled her away from the flames.

"Reiner." Evelyn said.

"Don't leave my side." Reiner ordered, taking her hand. Pieck and Galliard came out their rooms.

"Come out, Armored, Jaw, and Cart. Let's have some fun. The Island Whore can come with." A mans voice called. Reiner's grip on Evelyn's hand tightened.

"Anti-Marley." Galliard growled.

"Who?" Evelyn asked.

"Those that don't support what Liberio is doing especially the Titan Shifters. Where's the guns?" Reiner demanded.

"Downstairs." Pieck said. They hurried down the steps. Gunshots came and bullets went through the walls. Reiner got hit in the arm.

"Damn it." Reiner gritted his teeth. He looked at Evelyn. She had moved close to his side. He knew him, Galliard, and Pieck could heal if shot, but Evelyn would be killed if shot.

"We need to get her out of here." Galliard said.

"I'm sure they got this place surrounded. You don't think they came without a plan?" Evelyn said, glaring at Galliard.

"She's right. They wouldn't have come without a plan." Pieck said. Reiner gritted his teeth.

"Looks like we got to fight our way out." Evelyn said.

"I'm in for a good fight." Galliard said. An explosion rang through the house. Wood was sent flying. "We can't stand here. Let's move." Galliard led the way. They reached the first floor. Bullets flew through and Reiner pushed Evelyn onto the floor. Reiner grunted as a bullet hit him as the others ran for where the weapons were stored. Evelyn crawled across the floor till she reached them. Guns were pulled out from the floor.

"Where the hell did those come from?" Evelyn asked as she grabbed one.

"Its a Military Beach House. We keep guns stored." Galliard said. Evelyn cocked the gun. Reiner took aim and took a few shots at some of the Anti-Marley. Reiner pulled Evelyn to her feet. More shots rang out. Evelyn took aim seeing a soldier approaching the porch and shot him. It hit him in the chest. "Nice shot." Reiner pushed her down.

"Reiner. I can fight." Evelyn growled.

"I know, but you can't heal like us." Reiner said. He got up and took more shots. Something crashed through the window. It was a a jar with fire in it. It exploded as it hit the ground.

"Their going to set this place ablaze!" Pieck said.

"You can't stay in there forever!" A man yelled. Reiner felt Evelyn's hand on his arm. More jars were thrown in and exploded. The fire was spreading. Reiner looked at Evelyn.

"Do you trust me?" Reiner said.

"More then ever." Evelyn said. Reiner grabbed her gently.

"Shield your face." Reiner said. He threw her out the window. She put her arms up and shielded her face. She hit the beach and rolled. Evelyn went to pull herself up when a hand grabbed her by the hair and yanked her to her feet. Evelyn felt a blade to her throat.

Reiner came out of the window, coughing followed by the others. Guns cocking came and they were surrounded. Reiner looked for Evelyn and he gritted his teeth as he saw the leader holding her by the hair wtih a knife pressed to her neck. Pieck had disappeared while they were dealing with the fire.

"Drop your weapons or we slit her throat." The Leader said. Evelyn looked at Reiner and Galliard. Both didn't look happy. "Hate for a pretty face to die." Evelyn flinched as she felt the blade press against her neck. Reiner growled. Evelyn saw Pieck was missing and raised an eyebrow. Reiner gave her a smirk. "Now drop them." Reiner and Galliard dropped the weapons. The Leader ran a finger down Evelyn's check and Reiner had to hold back from attacking the Leader. "To bad your an Island Whore. You would make a pretty wife." Galliard grabbed Reiner's arm to stop him from charging the leader.

"Don't." Galliard hissed.

"Sir. They are missing one." Another man said. The Leader looked and Evelyn heard the footsteps. Evelyn elbowed the man hard in the groin as Pieck came running in the Cart Titan, knocking over soldiers. The Man let her go as Pieck grabbed him up in his mouth. Reiner ran and grabbed Evelyn. Soldiers ran after they realized their Leader was gone.

"Cowards." Galliard said. Evelyn hugged Reiner. Reiner burried his face in her hair.

"Guess we are cutting the vacation short. Magath isn't going to be happy." Pieck said.

The next night. Evelyn and Reiner sat on their couch.

"Magath isn't thrilled of the Beach House loss. But he's happy we're all safe." Reiner explained. Evelyn held her mug of tea. She sat it down and grabbed Reiner by the shirt. He grunted as she pulled him to her and pressed her lips against his.

"I'm glad we all made it out." Evelyn said. Reiner chuckled and kissed her.
