A/N. This is it the first episode of RWBY: REBN – Season 1. For this season and all future seasons there will be 20 episodes instead of the 12-13 episode average. I am going to use this time to help flesh out the characters and plot. Because the increase in episodes there will be plenty of original episodes. Flashback scenes will be in italics (except for episodes completely dedicated to a flashback) and song lyrics will be bolded (as seen in the color trailers). The opening song and credits song will not be featured (rather just a prompt saying that this specific song will play) however I will put certain soundtrack-exclusive tracks in their respective volumes to help enhance certain scenes. I would want to incorporate songs that did not originate from their respective volume to also help enhance the scene. The post credit scene will be attached at the end of the season finales. Eventually I will introduce my OCs for the story so be in the lookout for that. This season will help give more focus to the main underlying story arc of team RWBY coming together. I hope you like it.

RWBY: REBN – Season 1

Episode 1: Ruby Rose

The night has dawned on the horizon, we see is a small settlement a home to many people. It was broken, as the once lively plaza completely empty. Houses were few and far between, and we see families in their houses as the adults mainly the fathers arm themselves with makeshift weapons ready to protect their loved ones. There was a slew of negative emotions in the air, and the sound of growling is heard. Getting louder and louder, we see a group of ravenous monsters called the Grimm coming closer and closer. Feeding off the negative emotions, they are about to attack when a 4-person group of warrior arrived just in time to fight the demons. The fight rages on with the warriors using their weapons they customized for themselves and a Semblance, a special ability powered by their Aura. After they fight, some of the parents went to go thank the hunters and the kids looking up to them as their heroes. That moment is short lived as more Grimm show up and the hunters charged right at them.

A man in a bowler hat called Roman Torchwick is walking down an alley way, with a bunch of men in black suits and a red ties following him. They make their way to a store called "From Dust Till Dawn", a store that sells dust, music, books, and magazines. As they walked in, the henchmen looked around at the dust they need and Roman began to speak to the shopkeeper.

"Do you have any idea how hard it is to find it is to find a Dust shop open this late." Roman stated while one henchman pointed his gun at the shopkeeper.

"Please! Just take my Lien and leave." The shopkeeper offered. Ready to give up his money.

"Shhhhhhh, calm down, we're not here for your money." Roman assured. "Grab the Dust. Crystal. Burn. Uncut.

We see the henchmen stealing Dust. Grabbing the crystals and using special containers to grab the powered versions of dust, we see various colors of dust with their own effects. While collecting dust, one henchman spots a red-hooded girl named Ruby listening to music and reading a comic book.

"Alright kid, put your hands where I can see them." the henchman commanded. "Hey, I said hands in the air! You got a death wish or something!?" the henchman repeated.

He goes to her and turns her around, the hood dropped down to show Ruby wearing headphones, Ruby lowers them in response.

"Yes?" Ruby inquired.

"I said, put your hands in the air, now!" the henchman threatened.

"Are you…. robbing me?" Ruby asked in naïve manner.

"Yes!" the henchman replied firmly.

"Ohhhhh…" Ruby started to say.

Roman is watching his henchmen collect the dust when he saw his henchmen fly right past him.

"Freeze." One henchman remarked trying to stop Ruby.

We cut to outside of the shop to see a henchman flying out of the window via a punch, breaking it. Ruby arrives outside and unfolds her weapon in scythe mode ready to fight.

"Okay…. Get her!" Roman ordered.

The henchmen ran, readying their weapons, only for Ruby to spin around on her scythe and kick a henchman. Using the rifle part of her scythe, the recoil allowed for a powerful spin attack followed by slamming her scythe at her the henchmen. Speeding around the area, she uses broad swings and kicks to knock out the remaining henchmen.

"I didn't want to have to fight a child, but yet here we are." Roman quipped.

Ruby charges at Roman, but uses his cane to deflect the strike of Ruby's scythe. While Ruby was fast with her spins, Roman was faster using his small weapon to his advantage. He eventually gets some hits on Ruby and knocked her to the ground.

"Looks like your oversized weed cutter isn't that great as a weapon." Roman remarked while fighting.

"At least I'm young enough to walk on my own without a cane." Ruby retorted while fighting.

"Why you little…." Roman started to say.

Getting out of range, Ruby uses her Semblance and speeds back in a flurry of rose petals using her rifle to get him far away. Not expecting Ruby's proficient use of a semblance, Roman took a few gunshots before reflecting the bullets back using his Aura. Taking the fight to the rooftops, Ruby and Roman continue with Roman using gunshots of her own, and Ruby trying to fight Roman using her weapon. Roman eventually overpowers Ruby, and before he could use a powerful ranged attack a mysterious woman swooped in to save Ruby using a hard-light shield to protect her.

Focusing his attention on the mystery woman, Roman starts to attack but felt himself being pushed back thanks to the mystery woman's semblance. Recovering from the attack, Roman tries to shoot at the mystery woman but are negated by ice blasts. Eventually after a barrage of attacks on the rooftops, an airship arrives for Roman. Ruby and the mystery woman try to stop the airship from leaving but to no avail and an explosion create by Roman via a dust crystal keeps them from seeing where he is going.

After the fight, Ruby is sent into an interrogation room where the mystery woman revealed as Glynda Goodwitch, a professional huntress, chews her out for her actions and someone very important comes to see her.

"You're a huntress! Can I have your autograph?" an awestruck Ruby asked.

"I hope you realize that your actions tonight will not be taken lightly, young lady. You put yourself and other in great danger." Glynda reprimanded, ignoring Ruby's ask for an autograph.

"If it were up to me, you'd be sent home with a pat on the back…. and a slap on the wrist." Glynda said. "But there is someone who would like to meet you."

Then a few seconds later a man in green named Ozpin came in with a mug of coffee and a plate of cookies.

"Ruby Rose…. you have silver eyes." Ozpin stated in a cryptic tone.

"Uh, um." Ruby replied in confusion.

"So where did you learn to do this?" Ozpin wondered, with Ruby's fight against the henchmen shown on a black tablet called a scroll.

"S-Signal Academy." Ruby answered.

"They taught you to use one of the most dangerous weapons ever designed?" Ozpin questioned.

"Well one teacher in particular."

"I see." Ozpin nodded sipping his coffee briefly. "It's just that I've only seen one other scythe-wielder of skill before. A dusty, old crow…".

"Oh that's my dad! My dad Qrow is a teacher at Signal. I was complete garbage before he took me under his wing. And now. I'm all like – Hoowaaah! Witchaaa!" Ruby described in a comedic way.

"So I've noticed. And what is an adorable girl such as yourself doing at a school designed to train warriors?" Ozpin queried.

"Well… I want to be a huntress." Ruby answered honestly.

"You want to slay monsters." Ozpin tried to confirm.

"Yeah! I only have two more years of training left at Signal! And then I'm going to apply to Beacon! You see, my sister's starting there this year, and she's trying to become a Huntress, and I'm trying to become a Huntress 'cause I wanna help people. My parents always taught us to help others, so I thought, Hey, I might as well make a career out of it! I mean the police are alright, but Huntsmen and Huntresses are just so much more romantic and exciting and cool and really, gosh, you know!" Ruby enthusiastically recalled.

"Do you know who I am?" Ozpin asked.

"You're Professor Ozpin. You're the headmaster at Beacon Academy." Ruby recognized.

"So you want to enroll in my school?" Ozpin offered.

"More than anything." Ruby pleaded.

"Okay you're in." Ozpin confirmed after a brief talk with Glynda.

The next day, Ruby and her cousin Yang are on airship heading towards Beacon Academy, both of them excited for their first day.

"Oh, I can't believe my baby cousin is going to Beacon with me! This is the best day ever!" Yang said hugging Ruby.

"Please stop." Ruby stated hardly being able to breathe.

"But I'm so proud of you!" Yang responded releasing Ruby from hug.

"Really Sis, it was nothing." Ruby downplayed.

"What do you mean? It was incredible! Everyone at Beacon is going to think you're the bee's knees." Yang commented.

"I don't want to be the "bee's knees", okay? I don't want to be any kind of knees! I just want to be a normal girl with normal knees." Ruby brought up.

"What's with you? Aren't you excited?" Yang responds in confusion.

"Of course I'm excited... I just..." Ruby sighed. "I don't want to be any kind of knees! I just want to be a normal girl with normal knees."

"But you are special." Yang reminded.

"Yeah, I just don't want people to think that I don't deserve to be here. I mean I was personally offered to go to Beacon by Professor Ozpin. Who would give that up?" Ruby explained.

"Don't worry about it. Just promise me you can learn to be more self-reliant." Yang remarked.

"Come on Yang, you know how I am with making friends." Ruby reminded Yang in embarrassment.

"Look I'll give you some pointers. You got this!" Yang encouraged Ruby.

"Alright I promise." Ruby remarked. "Hey Yang look at this." Ruby pointed out.

As the cousins flew out to Beacon, they saw a breathtaking view of the entrance and the both knew that this was going to be a very interesting year.

The screen cuts to black and then the intro plays with the song "This Will Be the Day"

A/N. Here it is, episode one. How did you like it? I changed the intro from Salem's speech to actually showing how powerful the Grimm are and what hunters are supposed to do then cut to Torchwick. I did this because the Salem speech was way too vague and I thought this would be a more appropriate introduction to the show. I want to give a huge shout out to Raymond McNeil who runs the YouTube channel Celtic Phoenix Productions. He was a huge inspiration in me making this rewrite especially with the first 3 seasons. Go check out his channel and subscribe. If there is anything that could be improved on for future episodes, please let me know. As for a schedule I should be posting at least one new episode a week, I will try my hardest to get at 2 or 3 episodes a week but you should get at least one episode a week. Until next time.
