RWBY: REBN – Season 1

Episode 6: Class is in Session

One day after the Beacon initiation, teams RWBY and JNPR were up one morning still adjusting their team dynamics and getting ready for the school day.

"Good morning, team RWBY!" Ruby announced after blowing a whistle in Weiss' face.

"What is wrong with you?" Weiss remarked groggily.

"Now that you are awake, we can officially begin our first order of business." Ruby commented.

"Excuse me?" Weiss questioned.

"Decorating!" Yang explained, holding a collection of decorating supplies.

"Shouldn't we be getting to class." Weiss reminded.

"Our room is kind of a mess." Blake mentioned meekly as we see the state of team RWBY's dorm room.

"Fine let's just clean the room then." Weiss begrudgingly agreed.

"Aaaalright! Weiss, Blake, Yang, and their fearless leader Ruby have begun their first mission!" Ruby proclaimed. "Banzai!"

"Banzai!" Yang repeated raising her fist alongside Ruby.

Meanwhile we see team JNPR in their dorm room interacting with each other before class with some members of the team being more prepared than others.

"Good morning Jaune." Pyrrha said sweetly.

"Pyrrha, Ren? How are you guys already up?" Jaune asked, just waking up.

"Breakfast was being served starting a 7 am, to get first pick you have to get up early." Ren mentioned.

"Anyway here is some food." Ren commented giving Jaune some food.

"Thanks." Jaune remarked as Nora was still sleeping.

"I'll wake her." Ren volunteered.

While Ren went to wake up Nora, Jaune went out to the window in awe about getting this far and getting into Beacon.

"I can't believe it… even though it's been a day I still can't believe I actually made it to Beacon. I didn't think it would be possible." Jaune thought smiling. "This is the greatest day of my life!"

"Nice view, isn't it?" Pyrrha stated breaking the silence.

"Huh… oh yeah it is." Jaune remarked somewhat off guard. "Isn't it great, yesterday we just passed our initiation and now…. It's still feels like we are on the track to being hunters."

"It is definitely a privilege to gain the knowledge from all of these teachers." Pyrrha responded.

"Pretty soon I will go on to be a famous huntsman just my ancestors before me. Isn't it great?!" Jaune excitedly remarked.

"Yeah…. it's really, really great," Pyrrha commented. After Jaune left to get dressed for class, Pyrrha was lost in thought as she pondered over Jaune's ambition to live up to a family legacy before letting out a defeated sigh.

"Here's Nora!" Nora shouted with uncanny enthusiasm.

"Finally, now you're awake." Ren stated.

"I can see it now you guys, this year is going to be great! Everything will come up team JNPR!" Nora exclaimed with lots of optimism

"Now, I need to find my hairbrush." Nora said to herself.

We then cut back to team RWBY's dorm as we their room completely cleaned and that but their beds together into bunk beds.

"Objective, Complete!" Ruby announced.

"I will admit this does look more efficient." Blake mentioned. "The bunk beds were also a nice touch."

"I know right! Hopefully I'll be there to see Ruby flourish in all of her class and not miss a single moment." Yang complemented.

"Oh Yang…" Ruby responded. "We talked about this..."

"It's fine…. I guess." Weiss admitted.

"Alright! Our second order of business is… classes. Now we have a few classes together today at 8:00 am we've got to…." Ruby started to say.

"Wait…. When is our first class?" Jaune questioned in the other room.

"Did you say 8:00 o clock?" Weiss questioned.

"It's at 8:00 o' clock." Ren remarked.

"It's 7:50, you dunce!" Weiss chastised.

"Right now it's around 7:50 am." Pyrrha mentioned.

"We need to get to class!" Ruby and Jaune commanded to their respective teams.

As teams RWBY and JNPR got ready, they ran down through the courtyard where Ozpin and Glynda watched them. Glynda stared at her watched as she was ready to go teach her own class while Ozpin just watched the two teams as he took a sip of coffee.

Throughout the first week, we see RWBY and JNPR goes to their respective classes and gain important knowledge about being a hunter. With each elective reflecting the interests of students and the required courses showing if the students have what it takes to succeed.

Ruby's schedule starts with Grimm Studies. A class that she takes with the rest of her team. This class was enjoyable for Ruby due to learning more about the Grimm and how they operate, so much so that she had stellar grades in this particular class. Within this class Ruby learned about how Grimm can be attracted to negative emotions, how they can be repelled via positive emotions, how they regenerate if not completely killed, and the various types of Grimm. However due to having high grades in class, Ruby didn't take the class very seriously much to a particular teammate's dismay.

"This is a Beringel. A gorilla-like Grimm that has enhanced strength and can grab and throw its victims. You see class, Grimm can be repelled successfully if someone experiences positive emotions. The more Grimm there are the more people that are needed to repel them…." Professor Port stated. "What are you doing?" Weiss questioned quietly as Ruby was drawing and giggling to herself. "Pay attention!". However, this fell on deaf ears as, Ruby still kept drawing in class.

Ruby's next class was the Shooting Range where she could improve her ability to shoot her sniper rifle. In the class there were different sections where people with different gun types can practice shooting (i.e. rifles, pistols, revolvers, shotguns, and explosive launchers) their guns for better accuracy. Another thing that is taught is how to is how to use their ranged weapons to their advantage against those with and without a ranged weapon. Unfortunately, Yang was also there.

Whoosh!... "Yes, I got it." Ruby remarked as the bullet hit the target. "Woo-hoo!" I knew you would get it." Yang praised. "Thanks." Ruby remarked. As Ruby was ready to hit the next target from a longer range, Yang stopped her. "Come on Rubes, why don't you get closer it's much easier." Yang suggested. "Yang, even though this is easier I want to try and get this." Ruby tried to convince. "Come on, it's not the end of the world, I don't want you to put pressure on yourself." Yang tried to dissuade. "This isn't Signal, Yang. I need to do better with this and sooner or later I will be out there on my own and I will need to rely on my own skills." Ruby reminded. As Ruby went to leave, a brown-haired girl with a yellow streak looked at her thinking about what she saw.

After the Shooting Range, Ruby went her favorite class: advanced weapon building. A class where she could learn about fixing, modifying, and build weapons. In this class she could work on her beloved Crescent Rose in peace when she finished the assignments for today. "All right let's see what can to make fix this gun." Ruby thought to herself as she was modifying a weapon. "Is it me or is everyone staring at me like I shouldn't belong here?" Ruby thought noticing people staring. "Well they're wrong I can prove that I deserve to be here!" Ruby mentally remarked working on the weapon. "I have to..."

The following class was Sparring with Glynda Goodwitch. Aside from Ruby, Weiss, Yang and a few others were present. Despite being at home on the battlefield, Ruby discovered a weakness that wasn't really apparent up until then. "Ms. Rose despite your incredible talent back at Signal and the raw talent you shown me so far, you seem to do better at fighting Grimm." Glynda noted. "Well, yeah I thought we were going to focus more on training to fight Grimm." Ruby replied. "Even though a huntsmen's core job is to protect people from the Grimm, there will be times where hunters will have to engage in combat with various criminals to help protect villages and kingdoms." Glynda explained. "Now let us continue with sparring shall we?".

To conclude, Ruby's final class was Hunter Regulation and Law was a class the contained the rest of her team and team JNPR. Out of all the class this was Ruby's least favorite class due to the amount of busywork and tediousness. Not only that it's also the only class where she felt like she really had to try to get good grades. "Okay this is really boring, but I need to know this." Ruby thought to herself. "Stay awake!"

Weiss' schedule also starts with Grimm studies where she tried to learn all about the Grimm and how they operate. Due to having a wealthy and protected upbringing, she never had much first-hand experience encountering Grimm or studying about Grimm. Of course she tried to pay attention in class unlike one of her teammates. "This is a Geist Grimm; it can possess any inanimate object including dead people. This is why when people die we cremate their bodies so Geist Grimm can't possess them." Port remarked. As Weiss remembered how she got into Beacon she noticed what Ruby was doing. "What is she doing, doesn't she know that we need this class to get the credits needed to graduate?" Weiss thought to herself. "Why did Ozpin choose her to be the team leader. If I was in charge this team would be whipped to shape by yesterday." Weiss continued to think. "I thought she was going to work on being more mature."

After this class Weiss had World History with Professor Oobleck a class that Weiss had mixed feelings on. While she can appreciate his dedication to his to his profession as a history teacher, she found herself disagreeing to a lot of the things he taught the class. During said class, they were going over the history of Remnant up to the most recent era. Subjects include the legends of early Remnant, the arrival of dust, the birth of the kingdoms, the Great War, the Faunus War, the start of the Schnee Dust Company, the start of the White Fang, the start of huntsman academies, and more. The classroom it's self is a lecture hall filled with a timeline of Remnant's history and a map of Remnant and it's four kingdoms.

"Today class we will go over how dust first originated in Remnant and its involvement in Remnant's history." Oobleck started to say. "Now back in 1473 Dust was first discovered in its raw crystal form and ever since then have been involved in the conflict between Humans and Faunus…. so…. Yes, Ms. Schnee?" "So then Faunus stole the dust that was created and used it to oppress the innocent Humans." Weiss declared. "Incorrect, Ms. Schnee. Dust was used against the Faunus for the longest time and only recently has Dust been available for all." Oobleck commented. As Oobleck went back to his lesson, several Faunus and a handful of Humans glared at Weiss over what she said.

For her third class, Weiss was placed in Dust Training, a class where students can practice fighting with Dust infused in their weapons. They can also learn about the effects of Dust, how it could be used in conjunction with Semblances, dust bullets, and dust infused in clothing and skin. Thank to her background of being in the Schnee Dust Company, Weiss was worshipped by her classmates and admired by the professor.

"So to recap, red Dust can produce fire, yellow for electricity, green for wind, blue for ice, brown for rocks, purple for gravity, white for hard-light, and black for paralyzing people." the professor remarked. "Any questions?" "How can we use this dust in combat?" one student asked. "I can show you how it's done." Weiss remarked in a superior tone. During this demonstration, Weiss inserted a dust cartridge she had on her and placed inside her rapier and started the show off her skill in Dust. With the swings of her rapier, fire dust came out and burned some of the training dummies, followed by an ice attack to cool it down, and finally a hard light laser. "Excellent work, Ms. Schnee." the professor commented.

When it came to Sparring class, Weiss took a methodical approach to her fighting style. She would use her versatile Semblance, and her sword fighting abilities that resembles those of a fencer. However, when it came to being unpredictable or the strength of her attacks, she was…lacking. "How did I do?" Weiss remarked to Glynda Goodwitch. "You have shown great skill and technique when it came to fighting, much more refined than what I have seen so far. However, you shouldn't fall to the trap of becoming predictable with your attack patterns. It also seems you have more of difficultly fighting Grimm." Glynda noted. "Perhaps you can work with Ms. Rose, to help improve these issues." "Of course, Professor Goodwitch." Weiss quickly remarked trying to sound polite. As the next person was going to spar, Weiss berated herself for not practicing combat against Grimm and briefly touched the scar near her eye during her reflective state of thought.

With Weiss' final class, Hunter Regulation and Law she found it to be her second favorite class aside from Dust Training. Finally, all of the top-notch education she received before arriving to Beacon would pay off. Despite her team being there, she was the only one who managed to completely comprehend the material that is being taught. Topics like relations with the kingdoms, rules on how to deal with Grimm attacks, how to evacuate groups of citizens from Grimm sights, etc. "So to conclude, the best way to deal with Grimm attacks is to isolate the Grimm so they can cause as little amount of harm as possible." the professor said, finishing his sentence.

Once Weiss left the classroom she was bumped into by a goat Faunus. "Watch where you're going, you degenerate!" Weiss snapped. "I…. I'm sorry, I'm just so clumsy." The goat Faunus tried to apologize. "How did you even get into this school if you can't even move without falling everywhere. Just go back to whatever farm you came from and take your big horns with you." Weiss scolded. As the goat Faunus left, Blake was shown hiding, noticing everything that happened with a clenched fist and angry about what just happened.

Blake's schedule starts with Grimm Studies where of course she learns more about the Grimm alongside the rest of her team. Hearing the information, Professor Port is giving, she was able to apply it to her previous life before Beacon. A life that involved fighting for a particular cause, not matter the cost. "You see class this is a Boarbatusk. A boar-like Grimm that can roll into ball for defense and offensive maneuvers." Port explained. "Hmmm. I remember the time I was out on a special assignment, I encountered several Boarbatusk. I were out in an anti-Faunus rally when the Grimm showed up, I was almost killed by one until Ad… he showed up and I left with other like-minded Faunus." Blake reminisced.

Blake's next class is Sparring and unlike the other members of her team, she was the only member of team RWBY who had sparring class at that time. We cut to the arena as we see Blake up against Pyrrha ready to engage in combat. The mood is tense as the two girls ready their weapons; no one dares makes a sound.

"And begin." Glynda announced. When the match began the two began to charge at each other. Blake's superior speed let her get to Pyrrha first as she unleashed a quick slash with her sheath that was quickly blocked by Pyrrha's shield. Without hesitation, Blake leaped back to Pyrrha's direction to follow up with another stronger slash was barely intercepted. Pyrrha now getting a footing on Blake's fighting style, slowly pulled out from defensive stance into a more offensive one. Pyrrha lunged at Blake with a mixes of slashes and parries. Using her training to her advantage, Pyrrha found an opening and landed an upward slash at the Faunus. The two girls are in a free for all they both struggle to get the upper-hand against each other. Blake takes her sheath and cleaver and sends a barrage of upward and horizontal slashes while retreating using her semblance and acrobatics. With the grace of a dancer, Pyrrha dodges Blake's attacks and focuses on counterattacking with stronger blows, using her rifle to deplete Blake's Aura. Blake would try using her pistol to hit Pyrrha but she shots are blocked or missed, with only a few hitting her. At that moment time was almost up and in one last attack, Blake used her sickle to disarm Pyrrha, but then the red-haired girl used her Semblance that can control metal objects to pull Blake closer and give a finishing punch. "And that's the match." Glynda remarked. "Now let's see who will go next." "Hey, that was a close fight. You're a really good fight keep up the good work." Pyrrha complimented. "Thanks." Blake replied.

Afterwards Blake had her Psychology class, by far her favorite class in her schedule. The class where she felt like she can learn new things about herself in a relatively safe environment. If there is one word that could define Blake's life, it's regret. Regret for her past actions, regret for not doing enough to help her people, and regret for the people she inadvertently put in harm's way. While reading a book on psychology, Blake found a chapter in a book that really resonated with her. The book was talking about personal identity and what it means for people. Engrossed with the chapter, she thought about how she defined herself before going to Beacon and how she thought she can get a fresh start. Maybe becoming a huntress would be a fresh start for her. "Oh class is over. It just went by so fast. Oh well…." Blake noticed looking at the clock.

Then it was time for Mercenary Economics a class that Blake thought would be beneficial for her future. Handling money was not a particular lesson that learned in her life. In said class students were taught how to get the best price of helping protect people from the Grimm, ways to spend money to help be better Hunters, and how to make a living as a Hunters. "Here let me help you," one Human remarked. "No thanks I got it." A Faunus responded to her working on homework. "I insist it's not like you could do it on your own." The Human stated looking at the Faunus' animal features. "Ugh, I am more than capable of handling things on my own." The Faunus retorted before leaving. "Hey, isn't it that red-haired girl with the hammer?" Blake saw in recognizing Nora. "Ohh, hey…." Nora started to say. "Blake." Blake added. "Blake!" Nora finished. "You're in my class, that so great! How's the new team going?" "It's something I didn't expect." Blake remarked with unease. "Being with my team has been team is great we just meshed together really, really well." Nora remarked. "Anyway, I just going to… hey how did you finish this worksheet already and they are all correct?" Blake remarked. "I always the one who handled money between me and Ren growing up, so this is actually pretty easy." Nora commented. "Do you want some help that?" "Sure." Blake allowed.

Finally, Blake was back with her team for Hunter Regulation and Law aka the hardest class for her due to lack of formal training beforehand. Despite her best efforts she wasn't above bringing her novel "Ninjas of Love" to read to make the class go by faster. However, by the class' end Blake overheard Weiss' fiery rant against an innocent Faunus. "I can't believe that racist brat! This is why there is so much prejudice between Faunus and Humans. Humans are just awful, Schnees are awful…. at least until proven otherwise. I swear the minute I saw her I knew she was going to be trouble. Just stay out of her other way." Blake thought to herself.

Yang's schedule starts with Grimm studies with Grimm studies alongside the other members of her team. Out of all of team RWBY, Yang has the least incentive to learn more about the Grimm. However due to Ruby's fascination with the beasts, Yang tried to take interest for Ruby's sake. Yang did end up learning about how climate can change a Grimm psychology and how funerals are done to keep Grimm attacks from happening. "This is a Sea Feliong, a Grimm that resides in the ocean of Remnant and can fly using its wings to catch its prey." Professor Port explained. "So Ruby ready for our next class together?" Yang asked after Grimm Studies was over. "Sure…. It will be so much fun." Ruby said tried to smile.

Yang's next class was the Shooting Range a class that she also had with her cousin. After shooting targets with her shotgun gauntlets, Yang would go and help Ruby with her shooting…. whether she wanted it or not. "Ruby! Come on, it's okay, just let me help you!" Yang tried to call out. "Why is Ruby acting this way, I have always been involved with her life since…." Yang started to say before stopping. "I don't know maybe Ruby really does want her space? But she did find a friend with that Jaune guy. I just want to be there for her. Maybe some weightlifting will help me."

For Yang, weightlifting is a very important class for her. Not only is it a way for her to get stronger (both physically and mentally), it was also the only class she had with her pre-Beacon friends. And she had a lot to talk about. "So what did you need to talk about?" Levi questioned. "Let me guess, it's about Ruby." Nick guessed to Yang nodding her head. "Yang we've been over this. Ruby needs to learn some independence." Coby mentioned. "Yang, I know growing up times were tough for you and Ruby but maybe things will different. You don't have to always be strong for her." Terra said in a reaffirming way. "No! You know why I can't do that! I'm not leaving her behind. Not like…." Yang yelled in rage, her eyes turning red. Suddenly Nick went up to Yang to give her to calm her down. "We're not saying to leave her behind, just give her the space and boundaries she needs to mature as a person. You can still be involved in her life but she doesn't have to be your entire life." Nick reassured her as Yang's eyes turned back to purple. "You are an amazing cousin and you are like a sister to Ruby, so please believe us when we say that you can trust her to find her way in this new environment." Terra reassured. "I'll… I'll try," Yang tried to spit out while stroking her hair. "Good." Coby commented. "Now let's pump some iron!" Levi remarked as the group started to lift some weights.

Following weightlifting, Yang had Sparring class where aside from weightlifting, Yang felt like she was in her natural element. One of the parts of herself that she isn't proud of is herself is her aggressive tendencies especially when she was in a competition or when she believed someone hurt her or her loved ones. "And that's the match." Glynda noted as Yang killed all the Grimm in the arena. "Ms. Xiao Long, I need to address the sheer ferocity of your attacks. It quite unprecedented, I have no words." "Did I do good?" Yang questioned. "Yes, but you seem to rush head first into things way too often and your strategy could be changed up every one in a while." Glynda advised. After class ended Yang ended looking at Ruby talking to Jaune, and remember the conversation she had with her friends and decided to let them be.

Finally, we have Hunter Regulation and Law, a class that Yang just outright sleeps through and doesn't try all that much to pay attention to the lessons. Any homework that she needed to get done can be looked up from the Internet. However, after class is over Ruby and Yang were walking out of the class and heading to the library to do homework, Yang tries to talk Ruby about how she likes Beacon. "Hey, so how do you like Beacon so far?" Yang asked. "It's been interesting; the classes are harder than they are at Signal but I can handle it." Ruby stated. "I managed to become more adjusted to being a leader and I managed to get used to my surroundings. "That's good," Yang replied. "I'm glad you are doing good. I just want you to be happy." "I know you mean well Yang, but…." Ruby began to say. "Don't worry I know I have been overbearing, but I'll try to tone it down." Yang reassured. "Thanks." Ruby replied.

Jaune's schedule starts with Advanced Aura Training, in this class students will be able to learn more about Aura and it's uses beyond its function as a fuel for Semblances, above average jump height, and a protective force-field. In this class there were several people who were using Aura to send colored shock waves of power to training dummies, people using bladed weapons to send arc of energy called "Aura Slashes", using Aura to deflect melee attacks and reflect bullets, and even a 360-degree sense of the surroundings.

"Oh, my Gods this is so cool all of these things with Aura. I'm still struggling with doing an Aura Slash." Jaune thought. "Alright class, the first step of unlocking new Aura abilities is to really focus. You may not get it at first but with time and practice you can get it." the Professor announced. "For those who already understand how to use Aura you and go practice on your own. The rest of you can watch these videos about how to unlock Aura abilities and come ask me if you need any help." Once the class got started, Jaune tried to make an Aura slash but consistently failed, while all of his classmates were able to get the hang of it. "Mr. Arc. I see you are having difficulties with creating an Aura Slash." The Professor noted. "But you are passing the written tests. So tell you what keep getting these test grades high and keep practicing and you will do fine in my class." The Professor remarked. "Thank you professor, you will not regret this." Jaune commented.

Jaune's next class is World History with Professor Oobleck. History as a subject is something that Jaune is surprisingly good at due to him being in a family where his ancestors were legendary warriors. Jaune would read up about the history of the Great War and the development of the Kingdoms and other technological advancements. Not to mention that Weiss Schnee, a girl he really liked also had this class with him. "Class, you will have a project due in October where you have to make a report about your family's history. It will be worth 50% of your grade, so put your best foot forward." Oobleck announced. "Well my report will be exceptional, because my family and their ancestors are responsible for bringing dust to the public." Weiss boasted. "Yes, Ms. Schnee we are aware of the Schnee family's contribution to Dust production." Oobleck dismissed. "Well I appreciate the trouble the Schnee family goes through to give us the Dust needed for everyday life." Jaune whispered as Weiss scoffed.

Following World History came Grimm Studies, a class he had with the rest of team JNPR. With this class he thought it was useful to know how to identify the different Grimm in Remnant. "You see class this is a Manticore. It is native in northern Anima and it is fairly common. Abilities include flight, a stinger, breathing fire, and retractable claws." Oobleck remarked. "Okay, that's one of the many types of Grimm. How many more are there?" Jaune commented. After the class was over Jaune went to research some of the Grimm and he was shocked and amazing about the different types there are. "Wow… I didn't know there was this many types of Grimm. I've got to show Pyrrha this!" Jaune thought to himself.

Sparring…. If there is one class Jaune hated the most, it was sparring class. Not because he didn't like fighting, but because it was reminder on how behind he was form everyone in terms of fighting. Even Ruby who was two years younger than the other first year students was doing better than him. Despite his incompetence in fighting, Jaune could not bring himself to ask anyone for help. After all, if he's supposed to carry on his family legacy, how would it look if he had to take handouts from people instead of figuring it out on his own. Jaune couldn't even unlock his Semblance yet! And to top it all off, Cardin, the same guy who led Jaune and Pyrrha to the Death Stalker was in the class and had something against Jaune. "Now any volunteers for our next sparring match?" Glynda remarked. "Please don't pick me?" Jaune hoped. "Mr. Arc you are up against Ms. Xiao Long." Glynda announced. "Crap." Jaune muttered to himself.

After Sparring came Hunter Regulation and Law, a class that is needed to become a hunter but is super boring. Jaune was in this class alongside his team and team RWBY and like most tried to do, he almost fell asleep. In his defense he was trying to understand the laws but there was so…much… homework. "Ruby, are you understanding what's he talking about." Jaune texted on his Scroll. "No, what about you." Ruby responded. "Honestly, not really." Jaune replied to the text.

Nora's schedule starts with Sparring alongside her closest companion Ren. For Nora, combat is something she found to be very good at. Behind the silly exterior, Nora was quite a powerhouse between her war hammer, grenade launcher, and her Semblance. "And that's the match." Glynda announced. "Ms. Valkyrie, you seem to do extremely well when it comes to your offensive strategy and your amount of physical strength." Glynda remarked. "Well I have been working out." Nora commented, flexing her muscles. "However it looked like your defensive skills are lacking and your attacks are relatively slow. So just keep that in mind." Glynda added. "Fine." Nora internally remarked.

Following Sparring, Nora went to her weightlifting class. Like Yang, Nora would use this time get stronger both physically and mentally. During this time Nora would think about various things. "Welp, it's been a few days since arriving at Beacon and I can't believe Ren and I managed to get in. We have been dreaming about this for our lives even though Ren doesn't really show it. He really means a lot to me and without him I would totally be lost. I may seem like the type who is always perky, hyperactive, and somewhat annoying but I do know when to take things seriously. Like I was the one to handle spending the money I got growing up and I turned out to be a natural about it. Growing up we have always travelled a lot, so it's nice to have somewhere that we can call home for the next 4 years." Nora thought to herself.

Nora's third class was Grimm Studies and she saw a lot of Grimm growing up and during her younger years saw several of them firsthand. So like Ruby she felt like she didn't really need to try all that much. "This is a Lancer, a wasp like Grimm that is most commonly found at Lake Matsu. It has stinger that can be used as a projectile to pierce through the toughest of metals." Port explained. "Hmm, we never did get a chance to visit Lake Matsu, maybe someday I will be able to see it." Nora thought to herself.

Then we head into Mercenary Economics, by far Nora's favorite class. Of course since she like economics, this was really easy for her. Once Blake came up to her, Nora noticed how she is a lot like Ren, so Nora tried to start some small talk to help break the ice. "So how are you doing today?" Nora questioned. "It sure is a nice day outside." "Yeah it really is." Blake replied. "Come on Blake just talk to me!" Nora playfully nudged. "After all, this is a one in a life time experience, why waste it." Nora remarked. "We can check out everything there is to see in this school." "After all, what sits at the bottom of the sea and twitches? A nervous wreck." Nora joked. "Haha" Blake chuckled slightly, now that is what I wanted hear.

Nora's last class is Hunter Regulation and Law. The class where Nora slept because it was very boring. Her team alongside team RWBY was there, and she tried to catch up to the notes thanks to Pyrrha. Nora of course knew she needed the class, but like many others, couldn't bring herself to pay attention. Once class was over Nora was awaken from the sound of people leaving the class. "What it's over already, I thought I would get a longer nap in." Nora mumbled to herself. "Come on Nora." Ren stated encouraging Nora to leave her desk and go out of the classroom.

Pyrrha's first class of the day was Teambuilding. Yes, Pyrrha the girl who graduated at the top of her class in Sanctum Academy, the pride and joy of all Mistral, a successful girl who has so many adoring fans and a role model to several people is going to a teambuilding class. Unlike most people, Pyrrha's status as a celebrity led to a…. superficial life, almost like certain white haired girl who went to Beacon. In said teambuilding class, there were people from several different teams who seek to connect with their team better. "Hello class, welcome to teambuilding class. In here we will learn about open communication, mutual trust and support, confidence, accountability, and more." the Professor announced. As she was about to continue, she noticed Pyrrha Nikos siting their hoping not to be seen. "Hey, you're Pyrrha Nikos, it's an honor to have you in my class." The Professor commented. As she felt more people looking at her, Pyrrha smiled weakly and replied. "You know me; I love to be a part of a team." Pyrrha managed to say.

Pyrrha's next class was Sparring, a class that really showed how advanced she was in fighting. "For our next match Ms. Nikos will be up against Ms. Anderson." Glynda announced. Due to winning the Mistral Regional Games four years in a row made her a capable fighter. She could go toe to toe against offensive fighters and defensive fighter, being able to keep up with them until she can deliver the final blow. Her main strategy is to not broadcast the use of her semblance so it can look like she is untouchable or that her opponent is playing right into her hand. She could only be outmatched by those who excel in offensive or defensive combat. However out of all the new first years, Blake is one of the few people so far to really give her a challenge. Her speed was very much evidence and it was very clear that she had lots of training before coming to Beacon. The way she used her semblance and weapons were very efficient and it shown her skill in hit and run fighting. However, the hits she landed are not that strong, and her ranged fighting with her pistol isn't the best. After class, Pyrrha went over to give Blake pointers on how to improve her fighting skills.

After that Pyrrha was in Grimm Studies alongside the rest of her team. Despite not encountering much Grimm herself, she was well informed about the nature of Grimm and how they operate. She found Port's lectures and stories to be enjoyable, paying close attention. "This is a Centinel. A Grimm that can drill underground and back up again. It can ensnare its prey and bite it when their vulnerable. They are most commonly found in the continents of Solitas and Fera." Port explained. Once class was over, Pyrrha decided to meet up with Ren to have a chat while working on homework. "I see you doing well during time at Beacon so far." Ren started. "It's been really nice so far." Pyrrha remarked. "How about you?" "It's fine." Ren remarked. "So, tell me about yourself. It seems you are with Nora a lot." Pyrrha mentioned. "We got to know each other so well over the years. But it's nice to have some quiet every once in a while." Ren mentioned. "It's nice to see people who are not so superficial." "It really is." "I mean people recognize you as "Pyrrha: The Invincible Girl" and yet you stay humble and prioritize what is really important in life." Ren stated. "Yeah, that is true." Pyrrha remarked still working.

Up next was Survival in the Wild, a class that was dedicated to learning how survive in Remnant against Grimm, other animals, the elements, bandits etc. Out of the five days, 3 of them are spent inside and 2 are spent outside out south of Beacon in the forest. In the class students would learn about finding and purifying water, starting fires with and without dust, creating temporary shelters, reading a compass, hunting for food, camp cooking, tending to a wound, and more. "Okay, survival in the wild. Even though I never had to do this before, I can do this. If I can go through years of combat school being trained to be the most capable warrior on Remnant… even if it cost…. I can do this." Pyrrha said to herself entering the class for the first time.

Finally, there was Hunter Regulation and Law as class taken by the rest of Pyrrha's team and all of team RWBY. To most it was seen as a very boring but Pyrrha enjoyed it anyway. Alongside Weiss, Pyrrha also managed to pay attention to the lessons said by the professor while the others were paying 100% of his attention. Speaking of Weiss, Pyrrha did notice Weiss' outburst that happened after class and how she acted towards a Faunus student. "I can't believe what I am seeing here, this is unacceptable. Weiss clearly should know better, but considering her family history I'm not really surprised. I wonder how I can through to her before she says or does something that will get her kicked out of Beacon." Pyrrha thought to herself.

Ren's first class was Sparring alongside his closest companion, Nora. For Ren he prided himself on being a skilled martial artist. His ninja-like speed that rivaled Blake allows him to run and out of targets with ease. Using his dual SMGs with blades with collapsible blades, Ren can wear down enemy with the bullets from his gun and then come in unexpectedly with his blades. However, Ren's strongest asset is his hand to hand combat skills and his Aura abilities. While he lacks the raw strength of Yang and Nora, he makes up for it in the technique and accuracy of his strikes. Knowing the weak points of the body and what moves are needed to attack, his punches and kicks are strong but by far his greatest strength was in moves involving Aura. Learning how to use Aura to its full potential, Ren learned how to sense where people are in a 360-degree field of vision (except for the those in the air, or beings without Aura like robots and Grimm). This sense can go up to a 4-mile radius, however the farther something is sensed the harder it is to make out the mental image. He also mastered an "Aura Shockwave" a move that allows for punches and kicks on impact to emit a shockwave made by Aura to send an extra concussive blow based on how much Aura is put into the move. However, while the "Aura Sense" takes up relatively little Aura, the "Aura Shockwave" takes up a lot of it. "Mr. Lie Ren, you are one of the fastest fighters I've seen. You have above-average hand-to-hand combat skills, and your mastery over Aura techniques will help you significantly in battle. However, I see your regular attacks are lacking in strength, and you seem to have limited endurance." Glynda noted.

Ren's next class is World History with Professor Oobleck. If there is one thing that Ren is interested its history, whether if its own or the world he lives it. He would constantly analyze attack strategies and academics to see what he has done in the past to do better in the future. The only problem with that he gets overly caught up on how things once were at times and he can overwork himself. To distract from ruminating too much he would often try to help other people or keep busy with various tasks. After class was over Ren noticed Jaune was struggling over what to do for his project. "Oh jeez, Ren I don't know how to go about this. I want to do justice to my family's history but how can I sum up all of it in a coherent fashion? Not to mention we have to include what happened in our lives in the project as well." Jaune vented. "Just make sure to include the most important parts about your history. Besides I sure with a family as interesting as yours you can find something interesting about yourself to write about." Ren spoke in a sympathetic tone. "Yeah, I guess you're right." Jaune remarked. "Hey, so I notice you have been struggling with your advanced aura class, I could give you some help on the basics of mastering Aura." Ren offered. "Really, what will I do without you Ren." Jaune remarked giving Ren a bear hug. "Your welcome." Ren tried to say.

After World History, there was Grimm Studies. Like Nora, Ren has seen his fair share of Grimm growing up, but unlike Nora, he had a stronger hatred for them. Fortunately, he would not let the Grimm be attracted to his emotions as he would conceal them, but even then he still found them despicable…. especially one particular Grimm. "This is a Teryx. A raptor-like Grimm that can be found in Sanus and Solitas. It can fly and it has a long neck that can bite and swallow their enemy's whole." Port commented.

Up next was Advanced Aura Training, the class Ren favorited over the others. Even though Ren mastered Aura before getting to Beacon, it was nice to get practice on his techniques so he can apply them in battle. "Focus your Aura on the environment around you. Ignore all outside distractions." Ren thought to himself closing his eyes. As Ren closed his eyes he could "see" where all the students and staff were within the room. Even after Ren opened his eyes and turned away from everyone he could get a mental image of where everyone is and where they are going. "Good, but not good enough. I can only sense people in a mile and a half radius. I need to do better." Ren commented. "Maybe I should practice aura shockwaves." Once Ren came up to a training dummy, he focused some of his aura into his balled fist and then POW! He struck the training dummy and it was knocked back towards the wall. "That was…. actually pretty good. But now I need to work on prioritizing when use land an aura shockwave and how utilize it with my kicks." Ren reflected.

The final class Ren had was Hunter Regulation and Law, a class he took with the rest of his team and team RWBY. While he tried to pay attention to what the professor was saying, not even he was above sneaking in a book to pass the time. "Okay, this is starting to get boring, now let's get back to something more interesting." Ren thought as he pulled out a manga-like graphic novel. "I hope I am not the only one who is doing this." Ren hoped as he looked around the room. "Oh good, I'm not the only one." Ren reassured himself as he seen Blake was reading a romance novel.

Eventually it was Friday night and the two teams were eating dinner, discussing their plans for the weekend.

"We did it y'all, it's Friday!" Yang exclaimed in happiness.

"I know right now we can finally get ready for the weekend, we can do whatever we want and I plan to get know some of the people here." Ruby proposed.

"Well while you are going to waste time like a bunch of halfwits. I am going to take this time to brush up on my studying." Weiss commented with a holier-than-thou tone.

"I do agree that we should use this time to get some work done, you never know when something will come up." Ren added. "Thank you…. Roy?" Weiss responded. "Ren." Ren replied stoically. "Whatever." Weiss stated.

"Come on guys this is our first time at Beacon, none of us really experienced anything like this before, so what's the harm in taking a break." Jaune tried to persuade. "I am going to out on a night the town of Vale."

"See why don't you go out with Jaune? You know him right." Yang suggested.

"Yeah I do, alright I'll go." Ruby replied.

"And I'll be coming with you!" Yang commented invited herself.

"Uh, that okay, really it is." Ruby remarked.

"Well I don't know about the rest of you, but I am going to try all of these online challenges to see if I can do them all!" Nora remarked. "101 challenges to do over the weekend, Nora are you sure you want to do this?" Ren asked. "Remember last time." Ren reminded. "Don't worry, Renny I'll be careful." Nora reassured. "That's the spirt, Nora! Live life to the fullest." Jaune encouraged. "Thank you Jaune. At least someone thinks it's a good idea." Nora thanked.

"During this sacred time off from classes, I was going to see if I can help any other students with their school work." Pyrrha stated. "Besides I know one person who has a huge project coming up that is worth half of their grade." "Come on Pyrrha, I can just start on it later. Trust me." Jaune commented.

"Also I've been meaning to talk to you Weiss, I…." Pyrrha started to say. Pyrrha then turned around to see Ruby and Weiss in an argument about how a leader would spend their free time. How they should focus on the needs of the team over themselves. "Yes, Pyrrha." Weiss finally answered. "Never mind." Pyrrha replied.

"How about you, Blake what are you going to do this weekend?" Ruby questioned. "Yeah, we haven't heard from you yet." Yang added.

"I'm just going out to see a friend." Blake answered meekly.

"Who is said friend?" Jaune questioned.

"It's not important." Blake shot down quickly.

"Well she definitely hiding something." Ren thought to himself.

"Weiss, what are you doing?" Ruby wondered. "I'm studying." Weiss answered. "While you are eating!?" Ruby brought up. "Oh, shut up you couldn't be responsible even if your life depended on it!" Weiss snapped. "Here we go again." Ruby stated. The two then continued arguing until Yang and Pyrrha broke them up. Despite what has happened during the initiation there was still lots of room for improvement.

A/N: Finally, it is done, I am sorry for the long wait between the chapters. I should make it known that for the original chapters they could take longer than the other ones. Hopefully I wrote everyone in character and I got all the world building down. Surprisingly, it was a challenge to figure out what classes to elaborate on and which ones not to. This chapter was also used to help establish the two teams better in a low-stakes environment. From Yang's overprotectiveness over Ruby, to Jaune's worries with family, to Ren & Nora's separate personality traits, and Ruby & Weiss conflict with each other. I also hope got the school structure right, seeing how I want the Huntsman Academies to be like colleges (ironic since I will be in college soon). As for the fight scene, hopefully it is up to par with the other fight scenes, I wanted Blake and Pyrrha to fight due to them being the overall best fighters (in seasons 1 – 3) of their respective teams. Anyway, volume 8 is coming up soon and Salem has arrived, hopefully RT won't mess this up but at this point expectations are very low. Be sure to leave reviews, it would be a huge help in knowing what needs to be improved with this fanfic. Until next time.
