Haruno Sakura

"Oh, Sakura-chan!"

Sakura looked up and was surprised to see Naruto being helped by Hinata on a wheelchair.

"Naruto, what are you doing? And you as well, Hinata." Sakura said as she walked up to them.

"Well, Tsunade-baachan just gave me permission to visit that Teme in his cell. So I'm going there now."

Hinata chimed in timidly, "I'm just escorting Naruto-kun outside the hospital building because I need to get back home now."

"Eh, then how are you going to-" Sakura responded.

"Shikamaru knows and he offered to take me to the maximum-security prison. He said he's been wanting to talk to Sasuke as well about something. He said he'll also help me get back to my room right after my visit." Naruto replied with a grin. "I've been really anxious to see that Teme, too."

"You're lucky you get to visit and talk to him every day, Sakura-chan!", the war hero continued with a playful pout.

Sakura couldn't muster a smile or a reply to this. Lucky, huh.

"You shouldn't be here, Sakura." The former avenger replied.

"Not around someone like me." He continued to say without sparing her a glance.

The memory came back, like icy, cold water in her veins.

"Sakura-san?" It was Hinata who broke Sakura's trance.

"Y-yes?" The medic-nin smiled awkwardly.

"Are you alright?" The Byaakugan hime asked, genuinely concerned. "Is there a problem? Can I help?"

"Uh, no. I'm fine, thanks Hinata."

Hinata and Naruto glanced at each other surreptitiously.

"Neh, Sakura-chan, you must be tired. You should take a break, the other medic-nins can take over for now." Naruto echoed Hinata's concerns.

Sakura closed her fist and held it up, chest level. "Nah, this is nothing, you guys." She grinned. "Seriously, I'm fine! Well, I'm off then. Good to see you, Hinata. Have fun on your visit, Naruto! And make sure you come back right after and rest." With this, she turned towards her office.

But she knew the Byaakugan hime and the war hero weren't convinced. Sakura felt their stares boring onto her retreating back.
