The other man quickly undid the cuffs and yanked me out of the cage, roughly grabbing my arm as he yanked me out of the metal cage.

I wanted to free myself of his harsh grasp and run, but something told me that I wouldn't make it far before being dragged back. Or worse.

So, I followed clumsily, stumbling behind the man, as he pulled me up the cracked cemented stairs, and through a wide, dark hall with too many doors.

He suddenly opened up and pushed me through it before turning away. "Stay here. Heidi will be with you shortly." He ordered, before slamming the door closed behind himself.

As I stared at the door, my whole body began to shake as I whimpered in fear as I looked around the empty room.

I stood in the middle of the practically empty room, staring at the door only to jump in surprise as another from a different direction slammed open as a tall, blonde woman with the face of an angry dog came walking out towards me.

She is dressed similar to the older woman from the Anne Of Green Gables cartoon I watched this morning. Her hair is pulled back tightly into a large bun set atop of her head, and she is wearing a long sleeve blouse, and long skirt that hides her completely

She reminded me of the woman who was always chastising Anne. Which made her scarier than she was before.

"Come young one, it's time." She said before turning back around and walking back through the door.

I curled into myself as she quickly led me into the other room.

"W-who are—are you?" I stuttered in fear as she bent down, and began looking at me from head to toe, before grabbing my chin and moving my head from side to side roughly.

"I am Heidi. I will be responsible for you and your education from this moment on. You will have a schedule to follow, along with classes in etiquette, and training." She explained, before getting to her feet and producing a notepad and pen from her skirt.

I stared at her in confusion, my mother is the one in charge of my education. "But you're not my mother … my mother is the one who is in charge of my education," I whispered, shaking my head at her.

"You are right, I am not your mother, and it would greatly benefit to forget the life you had before you got here." She firmly said as she placed a hand on my shoulder.

I stared at her in fear, as I took a step back, as she stared at me with a furrowed brow.

"I have been instructed to raise you in a firm environment. You need to learn to listen to the boss himself. For your own good, I suggest that you follow orders, otherwise, there will be serious repercussions." She instructed, before turning away and walking to yet another door.

'Boss? Who was that? And what do they want with me?' I thought as a different set of doors opened causing me to jump.

"W-why a-am I here?" I asked, in a small voice.

"You were chosen out of all of the girls down there to become the wife of the future boss. That is why you are here… " She explained.

"Now if you please…" She gestured for me to follow her.

I silently panicked as I thought of her explanation. A husband? But I am only nine! I just turned nine! Plus who would walk me down the aisle? My dad wasn't here. No one I knew was here.
