The Newest Member of the Disney Princess Club
Moana sighed with contentment. She was the first one to arrive to the club meeting. Thrice a week, the princesses held a friendship club meeting and they rotated locations every single time. This time, it was at her house. All she really had to do was jump out of bed, get dressed and brush her hair and teeth. She even had her recreation room all set up for the other guests. Maui had even provided snacks for her to serve to her guests. Moana thoroughly enjoyed the Disney Princess Club and she was the president of it all. Meetings were an hour in length and everyone chose a specific topic to talk about during their meeting. Just then, Rapunzel appeared, her hair neatly brushed. "Hi Moana, I'm here for the meeting." She said with a huge grin on her face. "Perfect timing Rapunzel, I was the first one here and that makes you the second one to show up." said Moana with a cheery grin. "I was up extra early to get ready, it's not easy keeping this hair in check especially when it's in need of constant shampooing." explained Rapunzel as she sat down on the couch next to Moana. "Are you using that new shampoo I gave you last Friday when we went shopping as a group?" asked Moana curiously. "Yeah, I really enjoy it so I went and bought it in bulk the next day." said Rapunzel with a grin as she twirled a strand of her hair in Moana's direction so that she could smell the fresh tropical scent of Rapunzel's thick long golden hair. Moana thought that Rapunzel's hair smelled lovely indeed as she inhaled the fresh scent of her shampoo. Next, Anna and Elsa came. "We're here girls, what's new this week?" asked Elsa excitedly. "Let's wait until everyone's here and I'll tell you." said Moana grinning cheerily. Next, Tiana came over and she brought over some delicious lemonade for everyone to drink. Moana grinned and placed the pitcher into her fridge for later. Next, Elena arrived, running and breathless and still wearing her pyjamas. "Sorry I'm late Moana, I had a hard time falling asleep last night and so I slept through my 8:00 alarm this morning. Do you mind if I use your bathroom to change?" asked Elena curiously. "It's okay Elena, we haven't even started the meeting yet, go right ahead and use my bathroom to get dressed, I don't mind one little bit." said Moana with a grin. Elena smiled graciously and went into the bathroom to put on her clothes and brush her hair and teeth. Sofia was next to arrive and she brought along her bunny friend Clover to keep her company. Next to arrive were Aurora, Ariel, Cinderella and Snow White. They had carpooled to Moana's house to save on gas milage. They loved to carpool to the meetings since they thought it made more sense to show up together in a big group like this. Belle on the other hand, walked to Moana's house since it was only a few houses up the street. Under her arm, she carried a stack of books that she had borrowed from Moana the previous Friday at the last meeting and she had spent the whole weekend reading them from cover to cover. "Hi Moana, here's the books I borrowed from you last week." said Belle as she entered Moana's recreation room. "Did you finish all six of them already? You certainly are a speed reader Belle." said Moana impressed. "I couldn't put them down since they were so interesting." said Belle grinning as she set the books down on the end table by the couch where Moana was sitting. Next, Jasmine arrived and she sat down cross legged on the mat on the floor by the TV set. She loved Moana's blue rectangle shaped carpet since it reminded her vividly of a certain magic carpet and it was a very comfortable carpet to sit on. In fact, Jasmine did yoga every morning and Moana had let her use her carpet whenever she wanted to use it. While she waited for the others to show up for their meeting, she tuned the TV to her morning yoga program which was hosted by none other than the genie. Suddenly, the doorbell rang and Moana went to see who it was. As usual, an arrow lay on the doorstep and Merida was standing a few steps away. "I didn't miss anything now did I Moana?" she asked as she put the arrow back into her quiver. "Oh Merida, you always know how to make a big entrance. Come on in." said Moana grinning as she held the door open to her friend. Merida grinned as she wiped her boots on the mat before following Moana upstairs to her recreation room. "Oh take off your boots Merida, I don't even walk around this place with my shoes on." Said Moana as she casually leaned against the wall. Merida then noticed the other shoes lined up neatly in the shoe tray and she too deposited her footwear therein. Next, she followed Moana all the way upstairs and into the recreation room where everyone else was casually hanging out. Next, Pocahontas arrived and she was holding Moana's sweater. "Hi Moana, you forgot your sweater at my house last week." said Pocahontas with a warm grin as she laid the aqua marine sweater on the arm of the couch. "So I kept it at my house all weekend and I told myself that I would bring it to you at the next meeting." said Pocahontas grinning. "Thanks Pocahontas, it's my favorite sweater." said Moana smiling as she folded up her sweater and put it on the end table next to her books. Next, a familiar slender girl with a pink skirtini and a pink towel wrapped around her waist arrived. Her hair was done up in braids and she had on red water shoes and a blue necklace around her neck. Her towel was slightly damp, but her skirtini and skin were soaked right through to the bone. Even the ends of her braids were dripping. Luckily, she had wiped her shoes on the mat at the front doorway. "Morning girls, I made it here in record time for the meeting. What did I miss? Anything exciting?" she asked excitedly. "How on Earth did you get here so fast Cheryl?" asked Moana surprised. "I swam here and it took me exactly five minutes." said Cheryl grinning. Luckily, she had a spare change of clothes and she dashed into the bathroom to get changed into them. When she came back into the room, she was wearing a pink shirt with matching pink pants and blue sneakers with pink and yellow curly laces were on her feet. Her hair was done up into pigtails and they were held into place with big pink hair ribbons. Lastly, Mulan and Raya showed up together. They were getting to be really great friends and Raya felt that she could trust Mulan with her friendship. Now, all of the members of the Disney Princess club were here. Snow White, Cinderella, Aurora, Ariel, Belle, Jasmine, Pocahontas, Tiana, Mulan, Rapunzel, Merida, Elsa, Anna, Moana, Elena, Sofia, Cheryl and Raya. Moana now felt that it was time to bring the meeting to order. She got out her notebook and turned it to an empty page. She promptly wrote down the date and time. Next, she wrote down the names of everyone in attendance. Underneath Raya's name, she wrote "New member" and put a smiley face next to her note. Moana always encouraged more princesses to join her club and Raya had recently joined since she had moved to the neighborhood two weeks ago. She had joined the Disney Princess Club in order to make new friends and gain their trust. Already, Mulan had become her best friend and she was able to tell her her deepest secrets. "Well everyone, we have a new member in our club this morning. Please welcome Raya with open arms." announced Moana as she sat up straight on her couch. Everyone grinned warmly at Raya. She stood up and advanced to the front of the room. "Do you want to tell us a little about yourself Raya?" asked Moana sweetly as she gestured to Raya to sit by her. "I'm from a place called Kumandra which was recently reunited." Explained Raya as she showed everyone a newly printed map of Kumandra. "Before this was Kumandra, the lands were divided into Tail, Talon, Spine, Heart and Fang. But with help from some warriors, we defeated the druun with the help of a dragon gem." explained Raya as she pointed out to each place on the map. "The druun sound similar to the story about Maui taking Tifiti's heart." said Moana as she observed the map in deep thought. Next, Raya went around the room and shook hands with everyone. "Why are you acting so formal Raya? Here we hug one another." Cinderella asked curiously. "I have a hard time trusting people when it comes to making new friends. You see, I met this girl named Namaari from Fang once and she tricked me into thinking that we could be friends." explained Raya as she sat down next to Moana again. "I see that you and Mulan are quite close." Said Ariel with a warm grin. "When I moved into my new house, she was willing to help me unpack and show me around the neighborhood." explained Raya as she smiled sweetly at Mulan. "Also, our Asian cultures are quite similar." explained Mulan as she showed them the dragon motif on her sweater. Raya grinned and showed Mulan and everyone else her dragon pendant which was pinned on her vest. "That pendant is beautiful." gushed Rapunzel as she took a closer look at Raya's pendant. "Nice pendant Raya, it's not as beautiful as my amulet, but I like it." said Sofia grinning. "I agree, that pendant is beautiful." said Cheryl as she admired Raya's pendant. "The name of the dragon is Sisu and she's the last dragon. We're good friends." explained Raya as she fingered the dragon on her pendant. "My dragon friend's name is Mushu." said Mulan with a grin. "I think you told me that Mulan, he seems really nice." said Raya as she gave Mulan a jaunty wink. "Not only do we princesses meet three times a week at our club, we also have fun activities together." added Elsa as she glanced at a calendar notepad that Moana had lying on her coffee table. "We went shopping at the mall last Friday and we had a blast." added Merida as she showed them her new socks that she was wearing. They were blue tarton socks and it was as if she was wearing a kilt on her feet. "I got new crayons from our shopping trip and I used them for a school project." said Sofia as she budded into the conversation. "Oh yeah, the portrait of your family." said Elena grinning. "Yes and I got it framed as well. My teachers loved it." said Sofia smiling sweetly. "We all got something from our shopping trip and then we had a snack in the food court." said Tiana reminiscently. "The week before last, we caught a movie and had pizza." Said Aurora grinning. "We had a slumber party another week and on Merida's last birthday we had a huge Scottish Caileigh." Said Cheryl grinning. "The best Caileigh in all of the Scottish Highlands." proclaimed Merida with a huge grin as she linked arms with Cheryl and Moana who were sitting nearby her, causing both of them to laugh amiably. "Is there any activity you'd like to partake in Raya?" asked Snow White as she gazed lovingly at the newest member of their club. "I've always wanted to get a library card, I heard that the library down the street has a wide selection of books." said Raya grinning. "I go there all the time, great selection of fables and fairy tales as well as fiction." said Belle as she budded into the conversation. "They also host a wide range of activities, such as cooking and sewing classes." said Ariel grinning sweetly as she glanced at Raya. "Where do you think I learned how to build a model airplane?" asked Cheryl as she showed her friends a picture of her model Boeing 747 that she had constructed two weeks ago. On the tail, there was a red maple leaf and the entire plane was painted bright pink. The model could even be flown by a radio controller which was run by a satellite. It also was chargable via aUSB port which could be plugged into a wall socket plug. "She also flies her own Airbus." Added Moana as she gazed proudly at Cheryl. "That bird is in the shop for maintenance right now so that's why I swam over here this morning." explained Cheryl with a grin as she gazed lovingly around the room. "Oh yeah, that big C check right?" asked Jasmine curiously. "You got it Jasmine, they do a tear down to make sure that every nook and cranny of the plane is working correctly." said Cheryl grinning. "We could loan you a flying horse from Enchancia." Suggested Sofia as she looked at Cheryl with concern. "It's okay Sofia, I've got other means of transportation while my plane is in the shop, but thanks for the offer." said Cheryl grinning sweetly. Next, everyone went around the room and shared some news that had happened to them. Moana had gotten a new car and she was extremely proud of it. Raya was the only one who hadn't shared anything new, since she had just moved into the neighborhood two weeks prior. "My house is still in a mess from the move." she said with a heavy sigh as she fiddled with the dragon pendant on her vest. "We can help you get the stuff organized in your new house, our motto is always be nice to everyone." said Elsa eagerly. "Yeah, we could put the salad dishes away and put the canned goods in the pantry and put the boxes and bags away." chimed in Anna excitedly as she bounced up and down in her seat. "Mulan and I got most of it done when I was moved in a few days, but I'd love the help from all of you." said Raya smiling sweetly at all of her new friends. Then, it was time for refreshments. Moana brought out the snacks and lemonade that Tiana had brought earlier that morning. Everybody loved the snacks, especially the assorted doughnuts and muffins that were sent by Maui. They also thoroughly enjoyed the sweet lemonade that Tiana had made especially for them. "So does anyone have any plans this week?" asked Tiana casually as she sipped at her lemonade. Moana and Mulan glanced quickly at their calendars on their phones. Nothing was marked. Merida grinned. "I booked Mum for a complete makeover for Saturday afternoon." she said with a grin. "I organized a game night for Friday." said Cheryl with a wide grin. "We should have pizza or Chinese food and play whatever games you want." said Cheryl as she glanced at her friends. Everyone then stole a quick glance at their phone's calendars. Nothing significant was planned. "Why don't we go to the library on Thursday afternoon?" suggested Belle with a jaunty wink. "Sounds like fun, I'm in." said Pocahontas smiling at her friends. "Sounds like fun, I could do some research for a school project I'm doing." said Sofia grinning. "Oh yeah, the grand princess project." said Elena smiling at Sofia warmly. "We're supposed to choose a princess and report on her most important traits." Explained Sofia to the group. "Why don't you do a report on all of us Sofia? I'm sure that there's plenty of good traits in a big group." said Elsa grinning sweetly. "I wish I could do all of you, but we can only pick one." explained Sofia her face in a large frown. "Why don't you pick Merida? She's got plenty of good traits and virtues to talk about." suggested Cinderella with a warm smile. Merida practically jumped up and down at the thought of being picked for a school project. Sofia smiled at her friend. As she gazed at the group, her bunny friend Clover stretched comfortably in her lap. Sofia shared a piece of her carrot muffin with him. Then, Ariel glanced up from her cinnamon flavored doughnut. "If nobody has anything planned for tomorrow, we could go to the pool in the morning and then hit the bowling alley in the afternoon." she suggested with a warm grin. "Swimming and bowling in one day, I'm in." said Jasmine smiling warmly. "Me too, I love a good swim in the pool." Said Cheryl smiling. "We could go swimming in your pool if you want." Added Moana smiling. "Perfect. Then after lunch we could go over to the bowling alley near Elsa and Anna's house." said Cheryl grinning. "We could even go out for lunch together." Added Raya grinning. "Where do you like going to eat?" asked Mulan curiously. "You were the one who took me out to eat remember? We went to McDonalds and we had quarter pounders and fries together." said Raya grinning cheekily. "You had said that it was your first burger that you'd ever eaten." said Mulan grinning back at Raya. "And for dessert, we had eaten ice-cream sundaes with M&Ms in them." said Raya sighing reminiscently. "Maybe we should take Raya to Tiana's restaurant some time." said Rapunzel grinning with delight. "You girls are on my friends and family discount after all." said Tiana as she grinned fondly at her friends. "You know what? I'd love that." said Raya with a huge smile on her face. "What if we had a big slumber party at your house on Saturday?" asked Anna excitedly. "I think we can arrange that." said Raya now very excited. "You might want to put all this stuff into your calendars girls." said Snow White with a twinkle in her eyes. "We're going to have a very busy week together." said Cinderella with a large grin on her face. "What about leaving a little room for sleeping in?" asked Aurora curiously. "You should go and get checked Aurora. You might have signs of low iron or low thyroid." said Merida with annoyance as she rolled her eyes with disdain. "For your information Merida, not everybody likes getting up early every morning." retorted Aurora as she glared at Merida. "Well not everybody likes Burger King whoppers with extra pickles, cheese, bacon and onions now do they." said Merida as she rolled her eyes at Aurora with disgust. "Everybody's entitled to their own opinions here, but that doesn't mean we should get into a big argument about it." said Moana as she jumped into the conversation. "I agree, we are all entitled to our own opinions here." said Pocahontas as she gave everyone a big grin. Next, everyone put the events of that week into their phones' calendars. "So I heard that Elsa's birthday is coming up soon, we should plan to have a party for her soon." said Belle as she gazed lovingly at Elsa. "Thanks for reminding me Belle, I have the invitations right here. I hope you can all come" said Elsa as she passed around elaborate invitations to everyone. Even Raya got one. "I wouldn't miss my sister's party for the world." said Anna excitedly as she put her invitation into her backpack. "I'll definitely be there Elsa, how can I let an important event like that go?" said Cheryl excitedly as she grinned sweetly at Elsa. "I'll be there Elsa, I love a good party." said Rapunzel with a grin. "Me too, I love birthday parties." added Moana as she put her invitation aside. "We should probably think about shopping for birthday presents for such a regal queen." said Elena with a jaunty wink. "Olaph's making the cake." added Anna with a huge grin. "What kind of food are you having at your party Elsa?" asked Tiana curiously. "I'm having a buffet with all kinds of yummy foods." Said Elsa grinning. "I could make the food if you'd like, I make a mean gumbo and beignets." suggested Tiana. "That would be nice Tiana, but we're thinking more among the lines of fried chicken, pizza, meatballs, pasta and that kind of stuff." said Elsa with a huge smile. "I can make any food you want me to make for you." Said Tiana grinning back. "I've tasted her fried chicken, it's to die for." said Mulan with a grin. "She even knows how to make Chinese food I've been told." said Jasmine smiling sweetly. "I've had Tiana's sausage rolls." said Merida with a grin on her face. "Maybe we should go with a make it yourself pizza for everyone? That way, we can all have what we want on our pizzas without people getting into a fight about it" suggested Cheryl from her corner as she flipped through a magazine full of travel guides. "I love that idea Cheryl, you're a genius." said Elsa grinning. "Thanks Elsa, anything for a friend in need." said Cheryl grinning back. "If there's going to be pizza, are there going to be garlic fingers?" asked Rapunzel with a cheeky grin on her face. "Sure Rapunzel, where there's pizza there's always garlic fingers." said Tiana grinning sweetly. "Wait, what about appetizers?" asked Belle curiously. "We could have chicken bites for appetizers or pretzels or even devilled eggs." suggested Merida with a grin on her face. "I could make meatballs if you like." suggested Mulan smiling sweetly at her friends. "I could bring cheddar cheese with saltine crackers for the appetizers." suggested Cheryl grinning. "I'll bring tortilla chips for those who want them." said Elena grinning. "If you bring those, you'll have to bring salsa as well, everybody loves your salsa Elena." Said Jasmine grinning. "Your hummus is remarkably delicious Jasmine, plus your pita bread is amazing." said Elena grinning. "I'll bring some fruit punch." added Sofia grinning excitedly. Once the girls were done discussing Elsa's party plans, they sat together in silence for a few minutes. Finally, Moana spoke up. "Well, it's almost time to leave for home, so does anyone have anything to add before we bring the meeting to a close?" she asked as she glanced around the room. Raya then jumped up and grinned at Moana. "I just want to thank everybody for making me feel like a part of your group. You all made me feel loved" she said smiling sweetly. Never before had she felt as if she had true friends. Moana then began to tear up. She felt touched by Raya's words. Then, everyone else got up and rushed over to Raya. Everyone then got together and had a big happy group hug. "We really want you to feel like one of us Raya, we are all one big happy family." said Cinderella as she patted Raya fondly on her back. "I agree, we all want you to join us in our club." said Moana grinning sweetly after she had dried her eyes on a tissue. "We all feel like sisters when we get together like this. And that's saying something because at home, I have three wee brothers who are full of mischief." added Merida as she squeezed Raya's hand fondly. Ariel then came up to Raya and handed her a special friendship bracelet. "Every new member of this club gets a friendship bracelet." she said smiling. "Thanks Ariel, I love it." said Raya grinning. "You can even add your own charms to make it even more special." said Aurora grinning. "All of us kept our bracelets from when we first joined the club." added Snow White grinning sweetly. Ariel then showed Raya her charm bracelet with little blue pearls on it. "I'm going to put a dragon on mine." said Raya smiling proudly at her new friends. "Mine has a garnet gem stone on it." said Cheryl grinning sweetly from ear to ear. "And on every birthday and special occasion, we wear our bracelets to remind us how special we are as a group of friends." added Belle as she gave Raya a kiss on her cheek. Raya then looked at all of her new friends. She couldn't wait to go on many adventures with them. She couldn't wait to exchange contact information with them and give them presents at birthdays and holidays. Soon, it was time for everyone to say good-bye. Moana followed the rest of the girls downstairs as they gathered up their things. "So where are we meeting on Wednesday?" asked Raya curiously. "Why don't we meet up at your place?" suggested Moana as she handed Raya her hat. "Okay, I'll be there on Wednesday, same time right?" asked Raya. "Yup, nine sharp." said Moana grinning. "Don't forget about our outing tomorrow girls." added Cheryl as she put her backpack onto her shoulders. "What time are we meeting up for that?" asked Ariel curiously. "Let's meet up at ten or a quarter after." said Cheryl as she gave it some thought. Everyone nodded their heads in agreement. "Okay then girls, see you tomorrow at my pool." Said Cheryl grinning. "See you then." they replied in happy unison. But just as Cheryl was about to change into her bathing suit again, Merida stopped her. She had offered to give her a ride home, since it was on her way. She happily accepted the ride. Soon, Moana was alone again and she sat down on the couch in the living room. She was sad that her friends had gone, but she was very happy to know that they would be together again the next day. Also, she was very happy that Raya had joined the club and she had made friends with the Disney princesses. And so, they were very happy for many weeks afterwards all thanks to their newest member Raya, the princess of Kumandra.
