We woke up sometime later to see the sun begin to set.
I felt serene after my nap with Edward, almost calm enough to do anything.
His heartbeat was like a calming song to me.
I could feel that he was awake, tracing patterns on my bare shoulder as we lightly swung back and forth in the wind.
"Princess, I need to ask you for a favor…" He whispered after a moment of peaceful silence.
I tensed, sitting up on my elbow to look at his expression.
His eyes were careful. As if he was afraid of my reaction.
"What is it?" I asked, quietly.
"I would like you to sit and talk to my family before we get married tomorrow." He whispered.
I stared at him, as my jaw dropped down slightly in surprise.
"You want —me— to–to talk—to your family? Wah-wah-why?" I stuttered, sitting up and moving away from him.
"Princess…" He called as I got off the hammock and made my way towards the glass on the edge of the terrace.
I felt my insides twist in anticipation, as I faced away from him, waiting to tell me his reasoning.
"Princess." He spoke again, closer this time.
"Why do you want me to speak with them? Why now?" I asked, stoically.
I heard his sigh, before feeling him wrap his arms around me, causing me to tense. "I want you to understand why we are so protective of you. Why do we care so much about you? Please, I just need you to be open minded. To hear them out. If after you listen to them, you still want to leave and never come back here, then we will go. But I want you to hear them out." He said, in a careful tone.
I stared blankly into the water that surrounded us, frowning.
What more could they possibly say? I knew I wouldn't know if I didn't allow them to say their peace in this situation.
"Fine, they have two hours. Then I'm coming back to my room and pretending none of it ever happened." I replied, moving away from him to go inside.
"Great, I'll go tell them now. Thank you for doing this, mia amore." He said, as he turned me to face him, kissing forehead.
"Yeah, yeah. Just go tell them, so we can get this over with." I murmured.
He smiled, kissing my cheek, before disappearing through the door.
I looked blankly at the water for a moment wondering what the family was going to say, before I heard footsteps again.
"Are you ready, princess?" He asked me.
"Not one bit. But let's get this over with so we can all put this behind us." I murmured.
He sighed, throwing an arm around my shoulders before kissing my hair again. "This will be good for us. For everyone." He promised.
I rolled my eyes at his enthusiasm but didn't bother to answer as he led me inside.
The Next Day:
I twiddled with my fingers, as I paced anxiously in the length of the room.
I couldn't believe I was actually going through with this. I didn't know whether to feel happy and relieved, or scared and anxious for this to be over with.
The past two days felt as if they were now a mere memory.
While talking to the family has helped make my decision easier. I still felt hesitant to be around Edward's brothers.
Marrying Edward was going to be easier than I thought it would be.
I knew we cared about each other, possibly felt more than that.
He knew me so well, he protected me, from everything and anyone.
He made me feel happy to be around him, even if it was just a few hours or a mere moment alone.
Elizabeth had agreed that getting married here was a great idea for the small intimate wedding that I wanted.
With a few calls made, and her personal shopper flying in she managed to get the dresses here overnight.
The rest of the day after I spoke with everyone, was filled by us, well the girls, going to the spa, and getting our hair and makeup done. Even though I told Elizabeth I wanted it to be simple, she insisted that we do this.
I hadn't gotten a moment to myself since this morning, after waking up.
We went to the spa for a small portion of the day, and then a salon. Elizabeth had had a crew to come help us get ready.
The hair stylist asked me how I wanted to do my hair, to which I responded that I wanted it down with curls.
The stylist and makeup artist smiled and agreed to what I asked. One curled my hair, leaving it in simple waves before adding a beautiful flower crown to adorn it.
I hadn't seen my makeup until I was fully dressed.
Now, as I paced the length of the room, I could feel my anxiety begin to spike up to another level .
Just as I began to debate whether or not to jump into the water to drown myself, a knock startled me out of my thoughts.
I turned to see Jasper standing in the doorway. "Oh, hey, is everything ready?" I asked, twisting and untwisting my fingers.
He nodded, giving me a small smile before tilting his head to the side. "Are you ready to go, B?" He asked.
I looked at the mirror one more time, before nodding and picking up the bouquet of flowers that Elizabeth left on the dressers. "Let's do this." I said.
He offered me his arm, as we made our way out.
"Where's Senior?" I asked him.
"He's just outside the door. I'm simply here to calm you down." He commented with an eye roll.
I laughed at his antics as we reached the door.
Senior narrowed his eyes playfully at him before turning to smile at me. "You ready to do this, sweetie?" He asked.
I gave him a smile before nodding.
"Just remember the faster you do this, the faster you can leave here." Jasper whispered conspiratorially.
"Ignore him. Everything is going to be just fine." Senior said, shoving Jasper towards the chairs with an eye roll. "Are you ready, Bumblebee?" He asked, using the old nickname he gave me shortly after I arrived at their house.
"Not one bit." I joked as we slowly made our way towards the front of the garden.
I gasped as my eyes fell on all the flowers that surrounded the garden. The chairs, albeit only a few, had silk bows varying from white, lilac, to lavender rose.
The aisle had the same silk cloth leading to the altar, they had sprinkled the same wild flowers that were in my bouquet, so it splashed color on them.
Elizabeth had arranged for the ladies to sit on my side and the men to sit on Edward's side. A priest had been called and now stood there next to Edward, who was all decked out in a black and navy blue tux.
I marveled at the beautiful scene before, scanning everything, from the chairs to what our family, even the scenic view surrounding us.
But nothing compared, or took my breath away until my eyes finally met his.
It was as if everything but him disappeared. That's when I knew, this was it.
