So, here is the ceremony part. Sorry for the delay. I have COVID again and it's —ugh— it's hard to recover from. Anyway, hope you enjoy it.
His responding smile was enough to make the butterflies in my stomach flutter erratically, causing the muscles in my stomach to clench in anticipation.
For a brief moment, I wondered if the silk and lace, backless dress the girls put me in was practical for the soft breeze blowing around us. But ignored the doubt I felt, since I felt like a princess. Especially the lace sleeves and train.
Not to mention, that the veil Elizabeth had pinned atop my head before she walked outside. It was a two-layered veil, blusher combo, made out of the same lace as the dress, with embroidery on the border.
As we stepped out of the room, Ed had pulled the veil over my face before we began walking down the aisle of the garden.
As we walked, I felt the exact moments my hands began to sweat. It happened as I held onto Senior's arm and my bouquet. My hold tightening enough to make the silky fabric wrapped around the stems of the flowers twist and wrinkle in my tight grasp.
A nervous, timid smile slowly appeared on my lips, as we continued to make our way slowly up the aisle surrounded by flowers.
Nervously eyeing the family as they watched me slowly make my way towards Edward. Even a sickly looking Sulpicia, and Aro, made an appearance, much to my surprise.
The walk down the small aisle, to me, felt like it was taking forever.
"What's wrong, Bumblebee?" I heard Senior whisper as we slowly made our way up the aisle.
The light wind moved around us for a moment, spreading the smell of tropical flowers, and the surrounding sea breeze.
"I'm just— I'm just nervous…" I quietly replied, as I twisted my hands around the bouquet, wrinkling the white silk ribbon that was wrapped around it.
"This will all be over soon, cara. Just get through this small step and we will all continue with our extended vacation." He reassured me.
I swallowed thickly, before taking a deep breath and nodding.
"Relax, principessa. Everything will be fine." He whispered to me as we finally reached the altar.
Edward quickly extended his hand out towards me. I looked over at Senior, who gave me an encouraging nod, before placing my hand into Edward's.
We stared at each other for a second, smiling amused. "You look amazing." He whispered as we turned to look at the priest.
"You do too." I whispered back as the priest began the ceremony.
My mind went blank for most of the ceremony.
Suddenly, I heard my name, and I blinked back into the present.
"Isabella Marie Swan, do you take Edward Anthony Cullen to have and to hold from this day forward; for better or for worse, for richer or for poorer, in sickness, and in health, to love and to cherish, until death do you part?" The priest asked.
"I— I do." I responded, before biting my lower lip.
He then turned to Edward and began reciting the same thing, only flipping the position of our names.
When I heard him say I do, then we were instructed to turn towards each other.
"Lord, bless the giving and receiving of these rings. May Groom and Bride abide in Your peace and grow in their loving union. May these rings become the symbol of their endless love and remind them of the holy covenant they have entered into today, to be faithful and loving always. Amen." the priest said. "I understand you two made your own pacts for the rings?" He asked.
I turned wide-eyed towards Esme, who smiled, as Rosalie got up and walked towards me.
"Here, we thought you might need these." She whispered, as she took my bouquet.
I whispered a thanks before turning back to look at Edward.
"With this ring, I pledge my love and faithfulness to you and promise to honor our marriage every day of my life." Edward said as he slid the ring into my left ring finger.
I scanned the small flash card Rose gave me, and sighed before allowing it to fall from my hand, and turned to Edward. "This ring I give you, in token and pledge of our constant faith and abiding love, loving what I know of you, and trusting what I do not yet know, I will respect your integrity and have faith in your abiding love for me, through all our years, and in all that life may bring us.." I said, before sliding the thick golden band onto the third finger of his left hand.
"By the power vested in me by the country of Bora Bora, I now pronounce you husband and wife." The man said, before smiling, "You may now kiss the bride." He added.
I tilted my head back slightly and turned to find Edward already looking at me. A small timid smile spread on my face as he stepped closer to me.
Our eyes locked, and he smiled back, before leaning down and pressing his lips to mine.
Once again, all my worries disappeared, it was as if it was only us here.
Sadly it was interrupted by loud and boisterous cat calls from his brothers and father.
"Alright, that's enough. Leave those kids alone, voi pagliacci ." I heard Elizabeth say. (you clowns)
Edward stepped back with a sigh, "They're worse than children, I swear." He mumbled to me as we turned towards them and smiled.
"Mr. Mrs. Edward Anthony Cullen, everybody." The priest announced.
The cheers and howls surrounded us once more as we slowly made our way down the small aisle.
A nagging feeling fell upon me as we did.
Something was coming. But what?
I could only hope I was wrong.
