It had been a few weeks since the wedding, and we were still in London.
Three weeks since we all found out the danger we were in.
Yet Edward refused to see the danger in all of this situation. Arguing that there has been security and safety measures placed for all of us so he wasn't too worried.
He kept ignoring my pleas as I begged him not to go to Sicily to meet with the rest of his family, along with the other families in the country. But he told me he had to, that it was what was expected of him.
I could feel something was going to happen. But when I mentioned it, he would give me a small smile and try to ease me and my feelings.
Senior and Elizabeth were still away on business in France meaning all, if not most of the men, had to attend this stupid meeting. Leaving me alone with a handful of guards roaming around, and with Mrs. Cope tidying up the already impeccably clean brownstone.
Meaning I was left alone to roam around the house by myself. While I usually enjoyed being left alone back home, being here alone left me feeling nervous.
As time passed I began to grow anxious and decided to go out to distract myself, maybe do a bit of shopping for the rest of the family.
I hadn't expected to be gone for long. I went, and got Liz, Esme, Rose, and Alice a dress, complemented with a necklace, hat and shoes.
I still hadn't decided what to get all the men, but seeing as the car was full of stuff now, Peter and I decided to go drop off the boxes before heading to lunch.
As we arrived, I noticed the guards were all back, and I immediately knew that Edward was back.
Seeing as he was back, I decided to go speak to him about cutting the trip short and heading back home. I knew he was in the office, so I headed there first.
I made my way down the wide hallway, to the left, and pushed past Felix.
"Bella, don't go in there. He is in a meeting." I heard Felix warn as I pushed past him, but I ignored him.
Over the last few weeks everything seemed like a fairytale. Edward was always so attentive, sweet, and perfect. Almost too perfect.
But as I walked in and saw him and another man fighting each other, Edward pulled out a gun.
I felt the blood drain from my face as I stared in disbelief at him, as the air in my lungs escaped in a sharp woosh.
The face of horror as he realized I was standing there caused me to react without thinking.
I turned sharply, slamming the door behind myself, and began running as fast as I could, out of the brownstone that had become our home these past few weeks.
I ran down the stairs, ignoring everyone who I passed, before rushing out of the house and down to the street in a sprint.
I could feel the tears run down my cheeks, the wind biting my cheeks as I ran down the busy street.
I ran through the midday traffic, gasping as my lungs burned painfully, as I ignored the angry beeps of the cars that stopped as I rushed before them.
I didn't care where I went, I just needed to put some distance between us until my mind could wrap around what I just saw.
I thought I could have made it, until I was brutally hit from the side.
One moment I was running with my feet on the ground, the next I felt myself go airborne for a few seconds before I hit the ground painfully at an angle, and everything around me began to fade, as the pain dragged me under.
Third POV:
Four Hours Later:
A group of men rushed into the hospital, as the doctors worked endlessly to help the young woman that lay on the bed, seizing for the fifth time in the last forty five minutes.
Nurses, and doctors attempted to resuscitate the young woman, who had gone into cardiac arrest for the fourth time. The beeping that responded around the room suddenly stopped. Leaving a resounding silence, and the room colder than it already was.
"Call it." One of the doctors said.
"No, there must be something we can do. She is too young to die." The other doctor said as he began to perform CPR over the patient.
"Sebastian, she's gone into cardiac arrest. Her heart has been stopping for the last twenty minutes. Call it." The other doctor said.
"No, we can do this. She's going to make it, Calvin. I won't allow her to die, she's too young." The doctor said he continued to work over the young woman, that reminded him of his dead daughter.
After a few minutes of performing CPR, the rhythmic steady beeping of the heart monitor began to echo around the room much to everyone's relief.
The doctors and nurses all let out a sigh of relief as they all turned to look at each other.
The relief was so palpable that most of the nurses and doctors had tears in their eyes as they watched the patient's vitals slowly normalize.
"She's stable now, let's finish operating and get her to a room so she can have some rest." The doctor told everyone.
With that they moved and tried to finish all the affected areas.
Two hours later they moved the patient into the ICU and went to go search for the young woman's family to tell them the news.
She was going to make it.
