In the morning Jinn came out of his room to find Thrawn sitting on the couch working on a datapad, looking (almost) like he always did. When he heard Jinn Thrawn looked up and gave a slight smile, "Shall we surprise your mother by cooking breakfast?" That distracted Jinn from what he was going to say and the boy nodded emphatically.
It took about fifteen minutes, but by the time that Sarabeth had started stirring they had a good breakfast. Looking at the carefully prepared meal that was meticulously cleaned up she smiled at the two Chiss. "This smells wonderful, thank you." Jinn bounced happily, and all three sat down to eat.
After breakfast Sarabeth and Jinn got ready for the day, and Thrawn went with them to drop Jinn off at school. The boy hugged Thrawn's legs fiercely and made sure of the promise that his lessons on the Chiss would continue through the holonet. Another hug and the boy was away. Together Sarabeth and Thawn walked towards the spaceport, which happened to be in the same direction as the Dojo where Sarabeth worked.
Unconsciously Sarabeth's hand slipped into Thrawns and they kept pace with each other down the long streets. When they reached the point where their paths diverged they both stopped. Sarabeth spoke first, "You will be careful out there won't you?"
"I am always considered when it comes to my actions." Was the response, before the return. "You will be careful here?"
There was a smile in Sarabeth's eyes, "I'm always careful." After a slightly awkward moment of their one wanting to leave, but knowing they had to Thrawn took the initiative. Ignoring the people around them he slipped a hand under Sarabeth's chin to turn her to face him and kissed her. She smiled that full, radiant smile with her eyes remaining closed for another few moments. Then they seperated, both looking at the others retreating figure at least once.
