A Different Fairy Tail

Chapter/Episode 4: Dear Kaby

Sting: Welcome back to A Different Fairy Tail, sorry this hasn't update more frequently, but Michael's busy as always.

Michael: Well, regardless of that, happy Fairy Tail is on air with new episodes.

Lucy: I know I can't wait for the fifth day fights.

Lisanna: And the Dragon War too!

Kyuri: With four stories at the Grand Magic games, two that are canon related, one Alternate universe, another a crossover, how will you make each one unique and stand out?

Michael: well, while Lisanna I give her share of the story, she has her own character arcs in each story, most of it being strong, moving on from the past, or battle someone she cares for if that means beating them. Lisanna is a character I feel, like many characters in Fairy Tail, besides the villains, that don't get good stories. And it's not just about NatsuxLisanna issue, yet it's all her stories, it's that people don't see the potential of her character; they just treat her like trash. Lisanna's a good character with potential, saying she does nothing is complete bull, if I have to do all her canon battles or events to prove to you she's a good character I will. And she has eleven battles she's a participant of and three story events. Does nothing my ass, people are only upset because of the whole NaLi thing and her coming back after the Edolas arc, look at the many badly written NaLi, they are as worse as NaLu. Isn't helping the new opening and Ending (I love the songs by the way), make people think the studio ships NaLu. The ending screams Shoujo and Fairy Tail's a Shounen. I don't want any series with a ship that's only going to end badly if it's not canon for this fanbase.

Lector: Well, that's life Michael. Now this ends the Daybreak arc, and after that begins the Lullaby arc, where we meet Erza, Luke, Byakko, and Cyan.

Happy: We'll see you at the end of the chapter.

At the battle ground in what's left of the first floor, the older shorter brother spoke up with his pupil-less eyes while blowing smoke out of his mouth. He couldn't believe what just happen, three kids got the better of them, two of them light and fire mages respectably. Around the defeated Southern Wolves members, the first floor still looked like a complete mess, Virgo and the four maids still littered the ground. The Vanish Brothers, who thought this would be an easy job, protect Duke Everlue's mansion from intruders, were defeated by three mages, each with a different magic. They were overwhelmed, clothes and bodies black as charcoal, barely could move except for their eyes while remained blank in shock. The weakness of a mage, could they be wrong? "W-were we beaten by Fire, Light, and Ice mages, especially one that didn't specialize in just fire, but Take Over magic as well? Didn't they say, including that striped hair girl that to not underestimate them?" the older bald headed brother asked in a daze.

The younger taller raven haired brother then asked his older shorter bald headed brother a question as he too blew smoke out of his mouth, also having pupil-less eyes. "Hey bro, will you tell me when the room stops spinning?"

The three friends then surveyed their work after Lisanna proceed to revert back to her original form surrounding herself in a golden light and Natsu's muffler once again still around her neck. She sighed then looks toward the mercenaries with her hands on her hips. "That will teach ya to make an enemy of Fairy Tail." Lisanna then turned around with her hands still on her hips.

"They were strong, but they should have thought twice before underestimating mages like us." Kyuri said puffing her chest with pride.

"That takes care of that, but it looks might Everlue might catch up to them." Sting said assumingly, crossing his arms.

Lisanna and Kyuri nodded in agreement, thanks to those members of Southern Wolves, Everlue could have already caught up to Lucy, Lector, Levy, and Happy. The white haired mage looked at them and thought of their occupation, but decided to make fun of the two brothers she, Sting, and Kyuri just defeated, smirking cockily at them in an expression like Natsu's. "Well we better go find Lucy, Happy, Lector, and Levy. These Merchant Fairies are toast and out of our hairs, we can focus on getting to our friends. Jet and Droy, the love sick puppies they are would be upset if Levy didn't come back from a job with us." She said to the two who nodded with her.

"Already, let's look for a way to catch up to them; I don't want that beauty hating creep to harm Lucy-san." Kyuri said coldly as she followed the two to which the two brother cried out weakly, "We're mercenaries!" as they brought attention to the mistake that the Takeover mage made.

As Lisanna, Sting, and Kyuri went in search of Lucy, Levy, Happy, and Lector, the beaten up Virgo's eyes were glow showing that she was now awake as they passed her. The gorilla maid wasn't in a happy mood as she was defeated by the blonde haired Dragon Slayer as her face was screwed into an angry frown.

Down in the sewers with her hands being held back by Everlue, Lucy continued to struggle with the short blonde male in his grasp, grinning evilly after Lucy's remark about him. Lucy was in pain from his grip, the Duke's grip was strong for a short man like himself. "Me, an enemy of literature?" he asked in surprised, treating what Lucy said to be a complete joke, "My massive collection of books and art proves that I am culture's greatest friend."

"But that ugly maid collection of yours just proves that you don't know squat about beauty!" Lucy retorted staining in pain to the mistake that Everlue made regarding her maid appearance earlier, calling the blonde Fairy Tail member ugly and the maids he had 'beautiful'. She was angry at him for in, insult her beauty, something she was prove of and worked hard to keep. Everlue was furious, hearing the blonde Celestial Spirit mage insult his maids like that in front of him, He gripped her arms tightly, making her cried in pain more.

"How dare you mock them, they are the very definition of beauty!" Everlue shouted furiously at her insult as he proceeded to twist the arms of Lucy.

"Ahh!" Lucy cried out screaming in pain. Everlue looked from the back of the pain inflected girl and to Daybreak in Lucy's hand, eyeing the book with evil intent. The book's contents were more important than the pain he was given her, not caring the slightest the physical harm he could put on her.

"What secret does it hold?" Everlue asked of the Celestial/Star Make Wizard his eyes to the book at still keeping a tight grip on the girl in question. "Let me guess he buried a fortune, and there's a treasure map hidden inside!" But Lucy didn't answer or reply to his question, making the short blonde male look back to her back. Lucy continued to struggle not saying a word and Everlue realized this and taunted Lucy, his tone more demanding and threatening. "Tell me! Or I'll snap your arms like the toothpicks they are!"

Lucy struggled even more, as she looked at the man who had her captured. She wasn't going to give him the book, even if he broke her arms. This book belongs to Kemu Zaleon, and she'll be damned to the fiery pits before giving this book back to Everlue. Mustering up all the courage she had (childish it may be), she turned to the man and stuck her tongue at him, giving the Duke her response with a raspberry.

"Boyo!" Everlue chortled as he twisted Lucy's arms even more driving her into the ground eyes strained with pain and her eyes closed as beads of sweat pour from her face. "Now is not the time to get Sassy. You see, I myself am the one that commissioned this book's creation, therefore any secret it holds is rightfully my property!"

As more pain was inflicted on Lucy, she could feel her grip on the book began to slip, the pain Everlue had on her now unbearable. She couldn't take it anymore, but she wanted to keep holding on to the bitter end, get away from Everlue and return the book to Kaby. That's all she wanted, if that meant for wrists, she was ready to take all the pain on her arms before allowing him to keep the book. She knew Sting, Lisanna, Levy, Happy, Lector and Kyuri wouldn't give up, despite how serious they were to burn it. Her team mates, her friends, they were counting on her to keep on fighting back to end, and that was what she'll do.

As then, as her eyes were still closed, she couldn't feel Everlue's tight grip on her arms anymore as she looked to the corner of her eye and gasped in shock and surprised. There coming to the rescue, was the blue cat Happy, kicking Everlue in the face with a serious look and clenched teeth. Lucy was delighted, seeing the blue cat that was in ownership and partner to Sting, Lector, and Lisanna.

"Happy!" she said with delighted as the blue furred cat smiled to the Celestial mage, feeling heroic as he landed to the ground, his white angelic wings vanishing. As the Duke was still staggered from Happy's assault, he didn't have time to react as a feminine voice called out, "Solid Script: Ice!" From a distance, a clear white piece of ice shaped like the word itself came flying at the Duke Everlue, hitting in the cheeks where Happy hit him, causing him to fly off Lucy as another voice called out, "Lucy, are you okay?"

Lucy gasped delightedly, seeing her saviors coming to the rescue, running up to her as she said, "Levy-chan, Lector!"

Levy skidded to a halt in front of Lucy as Lector deactivated his wings, standing with Happy. Levy helped her up, asking worriedly, "Are you okay, did he hurt you?"

"No, I'm okay, thanks to you and Happy." She replied reassuring to the Solid Script mage, smiling at her and then to Happy.

"Don't mention it, Lucy." Happy replied too cheerfully, "Still, I flew a bit too far and my wings went out, luckily I landed on solid ground and not the sewer water."

Everlue got back on his feet after the two assaults to his face, seeing the two cats from before and the other girl that was with Lucy said angrily, "What was that, a flying cat?!" in regards to Happy.

"My name's Happy." He corrected the Duke, crossing his paws at him as Levy and Lector stood beside Lucy ready to fight. Lucy, no longer feeling her arms feeling bound any more, took out one of her Celestial keys and held out like a sword, her face looking more confident and serious.

"It looks like the tables have turned, but if you let me keep the book, I'll think about going easy on you, although, I'm tempted to give you a good smack." She said with a smile on her face.

Levy nodded and took a battle pose getting ready to use some of her Solid Script Magic to help Lucy, Lector and Happy standing firmly in the sewer, ready to help the two girls if they can. Everlue looked at The Celestial Spirit mage and snickered, he also snickered towards the Solid Script mage and the two male felines, despite the odds against him. He held himself proud, still not worrying he was 4 to 1 with two mages from the Fairy Tail guild. They didn't back down, and neither did he.

"Oh a Celestial mage and Solid Script mage, but for a couple of readers you seem to be a little deficient in your terms of phrase. The tables have turned implies that the weaker party has rallied to claim victory, but there is no way that you and those cats are a match for my Diver Magic! Boyoyoyoyo!" the perverted short blonde male chortled his laugh as a golden brown magic circle appeared on the back of his suit as he dove under the sidewalk leaving a hole. It surprised the four, now realizing the duke was no ordinary man.

"Dang it, He got away!" Levy groaned as she pouted with her arms crossed over her chest.

"So he does that using magic?" Happy asked as he looked down the hole, and then added towards Lector and the girls. "I had no idea that Everlue was a mage too."

"I knew he was off at first with all the digging, but I didn't expect that from a pervert like Everlue." Lector said matter-of-factly as Lucy agreed with the reddish brown and pink cat.

Everlue then suddenly popped up from under the ground several times and knocked the Celestial Spirit mage around in several different directions, catching Levy, Lector and Happy off guard. This guy was fast, and he wasn't playing around for being such a perverted man with a liking for ugly maids.

"Boyo! Yo! boy yo! Boyo!" Everlue chortled more and more as he continued to pop in and out of the ground, which weakened the structure of what was left of the building above them even more. As Lucy tired her best to dodge Duke Everlue, she spoke directly to him, still keeping Daybreak and her Celestial key in her hands.

"Look I know the whole story now! It's a horrible little adventure novel about a trashy character named Duke Everlue!" Lucy exclaimed angrily as she held up the book for Everlue to see.

Levy gasped, looking to Lucy and surprised how much she found out just after departing from the library to read it. She looked back to face where Everlue was digging around, trying to decide what spell of hers to use. She seemed to be at a loss for what spell would work on the Diver Wizard. With Happy and Lector, they couldn't fly far if they could, they were surrounded by sewer. Then it hit her, she knew what to do and crossed her arms in front of her chest, smiling to herself.

"I've got it, time to surround the exits with a barrier!" Levy shouted out loud and kept her arms crossed before uncrossing them with a cry. "Solid Script: Surrounding Guard!" And upon her command, a gray magic circle appears in front of her and sent a grayish blue barrier encasing all the possible exits for Everlue to escape through and smiled, showing just the confident she had as leader of the Shadow Gear. "Hey Duke Everlue, you are trapped in the sewers just like all of us are. So are you going to give in and surrender?" she said taunting the short blonde man looking at the smiling faces of Lucy, Lector, and Happy, happy she kept him here with them so they could deal with him without him getting away.

"Duke Everlue never surrenders." Duke Everlue chimed in as he continued to attack as he took in the words that the Celestial Spirit mage was saying to him. Happy gasped in disbelief. He really didn't believe that a character like Everlue existed in a book by Kemu Zaleon, and he wasn't much an avid book reader as Sting or Levy.

"Are you serious?" Happy asked questioningly.

"I don't know that I would call the protagonist trashy, but yes!" Everlue exclaimed as he dove underneath the sidewalk again. "The entire story is crap, and to think it was written by the great Kemu Zaleon!" Everlue continued to go under, over, under, over, up, down, up, and down. Destroying the structural integrity of what's left of the building above them even more as he spoke up once again. "Inexcusable!" coming out of the ceiling spinning like a rapid top and heading straight for Luc, Lector, Happy, and Levy once again. Lucy cart wheeled away and Lector and Happy flew to grab Levy as the Duke dived again and came up again, spinning like a ball before diving into the celling.

"How can you act so high and mighty? You forced him to write it!" Lucy defended angrily at the man, following where the Duke might be.

"Arrogant mois?" Everlue asked as he continued to use his Diver Magic causing chunks of the ceiling to fall even faster into the water making splashes in the sewage. "The word doesn't even begin to apply. To tell my story is an honor, no matter what the circumstances! Kemu Zaleon owed me. I kept him from being kicked out of the country."

"Then why did you have to Blackmail him into writing it?" Lucy asked as Everlue continued to dig with his Diver Magic.

"Blackmail?" Happy and Lector asked curiously with Levy as stunned from reveal as them.

"What's the big deal?" Everlue asked as he twirled his mustache. "He just needed some extra encouragement to take the job."

Lucy gasped at Everlue's remark and just glared at him even more angrily. "Oh really?"

Everlue began to swim from out of a hole in the wall through the cement like it was actually water. "Any fool would've just jumped at the chance to have me as his muse, but he had the audacity to say no!" Everlue began to dive downward, then stopped only popped his right hand out with his thumb and index finger extended. He waved his hand back and forth speaking in a more business but evil manner. "So I gave him the inspiration in the form of an ultimatum; write the novel or his family would be stripped of their citizenship."

"Oh?" Happy asked concerned, "But then none of them would be able to join any of the guilds and make a living; do you really have the power to do that?"

Everlue's hand then retracted under the ground as he continued to dig even more, Lector crossed his paws at the man. 'Gee this guy really loves to dig doesn't he?'

"I have the power to do anything!" Everlue explained as the ground shook again and he popped out of it. "I got him to write it, didn't I?"

Lucy then glared at the Duke with her eyes wide in an angry glare and her fists clenched.

"But I didn't like his attitude so I thought it would be best if he wrote it from a prison cell. Boyoyo!" as the group imagined an older man with hair in a ponytail in a room made of nothing but cement walls was sitting at a little desk looking over what he was told to do. It was a horrible sight, how can someone be forced to live in such conditions? "He went on and on saying he is a great novelist that wouldn't give in to threats, but in the end I got what I wanted!" he explained loudly with more sinister in his voice as he spun around once again as magical energy coalesced around him. Several rocks spun around heading straight for Lucy, Levy, Happy, and Lector. The small force made the four get away quick as Lucy continued to speak to Everlue, wanting to get more out from him.

"I can't believe you would go that far just to boost your stupid Ego!" she added furiously at Everlue's remark. "He was in solitary confinement for three years; don't you know how hard that must've been?"

"Three years?" Happy, Lector, and Levy asked in disbelief, curious to how Lucy knew of that when they didn't.

Everlue popped out of the ground again blocking Lucy, Levy, Lector, and Happy's progress, knocking Lucy and Levy backwards speaking again to the blonde Celestial mage. "Perhaps it took him that long to appreciate me! Boyoyo!" and chortled once more again to them.

Lucy landed to the ground in a squatting position with her right hand on the ground and Levy right beside her. She spoke up while still holding the book in her left hand. "You're wrong! More like he couldn't bear to spread your lies, but he had to satisfy your vanity. He knew that if he didn't write you as a heroic champion of justice, his family would suffer!"

Lucy stood up as she faced the Duke, Levy looking to her wondering how she found out, but saw how coincident and serious she looked now. The Duke asked in complete shock anger, wondering how the blonde girl knew what was going on. "Tell me, how exactly do you know all this?"

Lucy held up the book with a smile on her face as she showed it to Everlue. "It's all right here in black and white."

"What?" Duke Everlue asked in surprise and disbelief. "I've read that book from cover to cover and Kemu Zaleon isn't in it."

"Well yeah;" Lucy replied in an annoyed tone. "If you read it normally there is no mention of him, but I know something you don't know. Long before he was an author, he was a wizard!"

"He was?" Happy and Lector asked curiously. Levy thumped her forehead, feeling like a complete idiot, remembering one fact about Kemu Zaleon.

"Of course, I'm such an idiot! I remember now…" she said as her voice trailed off into the past as Lucy explained. The same elderly man who was stuck in Solitary Confinement was sitting at his table as he chanted a spell which coded all the contents of the book into something completely unreadable. Unreadable to the normal human, but a wizard could figure it out if he or she had the right equipment. This stunned Levy, Lucy figured all this out on her own, and she was quite smart to figure it out without even her help. Everlue was mad, wondering what 'hidden' message was in the book if he couldn't find it.

"What did he do?" Everlue asked of the Celestial/Star Make Wizard anger boiling in his body.

"After he finished the book, he gathered all of his remaining strength and cast a spell on it." Lucy said matter-of-factly.

"Grrr! What a dirty trick!" Everlue growled angrily. "He took a story about a great man like me and turned it into a hatchet job, the nerve of that fool!"

Everlue dived under the ground once again and comes up to attack Lucy and Happy, but Lucy and Happy manage to get out of the way as he continues using his diver magic to dig and surface he kept on saying, "Boyoyoyo, Boyoyoyo!" over and over, making Lucy mad how he took the news without getting the full details.

"Oh, get over yourself! It's true that he wrote about all the pain and torture that you put him through, " Lucy said as she landed directly across from Everlue as he landed hunched over with his right arm down giving him support, "but the chapters that focus on what you did to him are only a small part of the book."

Everlue looked over his shoulder at the Celestial Spirit mage as she continued her rant. "In fact, its secret has nothing to do with you!" Lucy continued while still holding onto the book.

"Oh tell us Lucy!" Happy and Lector chimed in happily, Levy as well wanted to hear about the contents of the book's true words.

"What the devil do you mean?" Everlue asked perplexed.

"I'm not going to give this book back to you Duke Everlue!" Lucy exclaimed as she held out her Golden Zodiac Key as she hid the book behind her back saying with more force in her voice. "Because in reality, it was never really was yours to begin with!" and with a flick of her wrist, she tossed the key into the air before catching it, reciting her incantation, "Open, Gate of the Giant Crab!" and pointed her key to the ground as the key glowed, a light blue magic circle appearing in front of her as she announced, "Cancer!" and from the magic circle, two sharp objects appearance from the golden light made by the circle as someone appeared as well to catch them. Two sharp objects appearance from the golden light made by the circle as someone appeared as well to catch them. It was a man that dressed in a way reminiscent of a hairdresser, His hair was black and braided in red cornrows that end in a shape that resembled crab's pincers appeared out of the blue magic circle that materializes from Lucy's key. He had thick lips and wore a blue striped shirt and dark trousers with two aquamarine stripes each side, he also wore boots on his feet. On his pants was a ring chain in the right pocket and a hairdresser tools' bag in the left side of his belt. He wore a golden necklace around his neck and in his hands were his two main weapons: Scissors. The color of his eyes was hard to see as he wore sunglasses with green lens. He also has six crab legs that appear from his back. He stood with both arms crossed as Happy's mouth was drooling, despite remembering this was one of Lucy's allies. Lector merely looked at his 'brother' with a light chuckle.

"Oh yes! Nothing says I'm going to beat you up like a tough guy with razor sharp claws and pair of tough guy sunglasses!" Happy said excitedly while he drooled.

"Happy, calm down, I need to concentrate on Everlue." Lucy said calmly to her comrade and seeing his expression, "And you can't eat him I'm sorry."

"Good call you're being nice to him, because if a certain white haired mage finds out you are threatening him, I wouldn't want to fathom the unspeakable things she'll do to you." Levy admitted with a light blush on her face.

"What unspeakable things?" she asked, getting a little paranoid that Lisanna, a girl so sweet, could do such a thing. Levy leaned in and whispered a few things, some things that made her beat red with a blush.

"T-T-that's illegal in Magnolia?!" she asked as Cancer finally spoke to her, looking very serious at her with his red scissors in his hands. (A/N 1)

"Hey Lucy, how would you like your hair done today… baby?" Cancer asked his wizard as she looked a little embarrassed, seeing as this hasn't the time or the place. "Cancer, you know very well at a time like this, I need you to fight and not style my hair." She said with a blush on her cheeks. She pointed her right hand at Everlue, getting the Crab spirit to look at him, "Finish off baldy over there!" Lucy commanded to the spirit.

"Right away, baby!" Cancer replied as he took a fighting stance holding both scissors in his hands. He faced Everlue with Levy standing behind him for support, seeing the man was losing his cool.

Everlue was Duke Everlue was shaking and sweating as he begins to think to himself about his current situation. 'What could the secret possibly be? The hack must have written an entire expose on all of my illegal business deals. I can't have that. If the Magic Council got wind of how I actually made my fortune, my goose would be cooked.'

Everlue then pulled out a gate key similar to Lucy's, only this one had a stylized "M" as the symbol on the key. It was time for Everlue to fight Celestial Spirit with Celestial Spirit. Duke Everlue then took a stance with his left hand out in front of him with his two middle fingers down and his outer fingers pointing up with his thumb stretched across touching the finger nail to his middle finger. The golden key spun in mid-air much like Lucy's key did as Duke Everlue grabs it in his right hand. "Open Gate of the Maiden! Virgo!" and once again, a purple magic circle not like the blue one Lucy summoned, appeared in front of him and the key while Everlue was slashing it. Once the purple circle vanished, there stood the gorilla maid next to her master. Lucy was stunned, he was Celestial Sprit mage too, and had a Celestial key as well

"No way, he did the same trick Lucy-san did." Lector said with amazement.

The gorilla maid landed to the ground after she was summoned and glared at Lucy, Lector, Levy, and Happy. "Did I hear my master summon me?!" Virgo asked with a booming voice.

Everlue pointed towards Lucy and Happy and Levy and Lector, his patience wearing thin and secrets he doesn't want out. "Virgo! Fetch me that book!" and he gasped, so did Levy, Lector and Happy when they saw something follow Virgo.

"So you're a Celestial mage as well huh?" Lucy asked as she noticed her fellow team mates and friends on the Celestial Spirit's shoulder, popping up to show their heads. "Lisanna, Kyuri, Sting?"

"Lisanna, Sting, Kyuri, how did you get here?" Levy asked curiously at the white haired Takeover mage, Blonde White Dragon Slayer, and black and white haired Ice Sculpt mage.

"What is the meaning of this?" Everlue asked, seeing their three mages hitch a ride on Virgo. "Who are you?"

"The name is Lisanna Strauss." Lisanna said as she seemed to be out of breath.

"My name is Sting Eucliffe." Sting said out of breath as well.

"And I'm Kyuri Kuruwa." Kyuri said out of breath like the other two before explaining how they got here from one place to another so quickly. "Well, we noticed that Virgo here woke up so Sting, Lisanna, and I jumped on her shoulder without her noticing. The next thing I know, we were here."

"You mean to tell me, that you passed through the spirit world with her?" Lucy asked surprised and worried at the same time. "You're lucky you survived passing through the spirit world. Normally, humans can't be in the spirit world because of the lack of air. There is also the little fact that unless properly equipped, it's taboo for a human to pass through the Celestial Spirit World."

(Cue Work Hard, Lucy-Fairy Tail Original Soundtrack Volume one)

"Don't stare at us and tell us about taboos, what should we do?" Sting asked. Lucy looked to them and back Everlue, then remembered something. Sting, Lisanna, and Kyuri, they can handle Virgo for him, leaving Everlue to be dealt with her and Levy. Finally calmed down after the realization her three friends just came from the Spirit world and back, she pointed her right hand Everlue. "Get him out of the way." She ordered Cancer confidently.

"Virgo! Mop those pests up!" Everlue ordered Virgo looking to Sting, Kyuri, and Lisanna.

Sting, Kyuri and Lisanna leaped out the large maid as she loomed over them to attack them, their back facing her. "Understood sir!"

The three mages then look back at Virgo ready to crush them as Sting and Lisanna made their counterattacks. Lisanna quickly changed into her Phoenix Soul Takeover, her clothes and wings returned again as she then shouted back, fire quickly surrounding her body. "Don't count it!" Lisanna then placed her two hands together as a red magic circle and flames appeared around her. "Phoenix Flame Burst!" A powerful burst of fire appeared from her hands and magic circle as Sting made his move, assisting the Takeover mage.

The blonde haired Dragon Slayer then slammed his fists together as an orange magic circle appeared as white winds swirled around him, "This'll blow you away! White Dragon Roar!" and let out a powerful stream of white winds from his mouth.

Just then, Lucy grabbed the whip from her belt and cried out to the Duke of Everlue, "Take this, you perverted mole!" And sent her whip at Everlue like a mad chain. Virgo was hit by the fire and white attacks courtesy of Sting and Lisanna which sent her flying to where Lucy is who tied the duke up, unable for him to move.

"No move diving away for you!" she shouted and lifted the diver mage up off the ground with all her strength she could muster. "The best you'll ever be…" and sent him flying to Cancer, who jumped into the air, scissors in hand.

"Baby!" The crab spirit said as he used the scissors to cut at Everlue as Lucy and Cancer land back to the ground, the duke between them. She kneeled down with smile on her face, proud of herself

"…is a side character." She finished triumph a victory her back still turned from the Duke as Levy and the cats cheered.

"Is that haircut to your liking, Baby?" Cancer asked Lucy and just like that, the Duke's hair and mustache was cut and his head completely bald. All he had on his face was a dazed smile.

Sting and Lisanna laughed, the two and Kyuri's feet to the defeated gorilla maid saying in unison, "Good job, Lucy… Wait, why is he calling you baby?"

Before they could get an answer or a reply, the three could hear rumbling around them. All the holes the Duke made were now causing the sewers to be unstable as it was now falling apart. And not just the Sewers, the Mansion too was coming down. Sting, Kyuri, Lisanna, Lector, Levy, Happy, and Lucy all had escaped the sewers to watch the mansion go crashing down. Lucy was shocked, Happy and Lector was smiling, and Sting, Kyuri, Levy and Lisanna were nonchalant about it. The mansion with all the strange things and books was going down, with Everlue to be buried with it, his collection of ugly maids, and his home. Lucy didn't expect this much destruction, first Hargeon, now this?

"You really went all out, Lucy!" Lisanna laughed, hands to her head.

"You a Fairy Tail mage for sure!" added Sting, hands to his head too.

"Aye! But we ended up destroying more stuff." Happy and Lector reminded them as Lucy was still horrified of what happened just now.

"Th-this is my fault?" she said unsure.

"Well, Sting, Kyuri, and Lisanna did cause most of the damage." Levy said matter-of-factly. "But Everlue was digging around, Sting and Lisanna's attack just shook up the already damaged place."

"At any case, let's return the book to Kaby Melon-san; he would like to see it back if the book matter to him." Kyuri said with nods of agreement, along with Lucy who led the way from the site.

The three didn't see Virgo in the crumbling rubble as Lisanna place something golden in her pocket. Not wanting to get into trouble and with Daybreak in their hands, they decided to return to Melon's place to give him the book.

They arrived shortly back to Kaby Melon's place and entered inside, Lucy explaining everything to Kaby. She went into detail about the book to Sting, Lisanna, Levy, Kyuri, Happy, and Lector, explaining more than she said in the sewers than she had said a lot to Everlue.

"The book has such a terrible structure and style that I had a hard time believing Kemu Zaleon wrote it." Lucy explained.

"I guess you have a point Lucy, I read lots of books on my past time from mission to mission, if it's as bad you say, how can it be written by someone famous as him?" Sting asked, standing with Lucy along with Levy, Lisanna, and Kyuri, Happy and Lector in Levy and Kyuri's arms. Lisanna had her arms behind her back, with Levy looking calm with a frown on her face, the same for Kyuri whose eyes look very cold.

"That's what made me suspect there was a secret to it." Lucy finished, completing her tales to the Melons and her friends. Lucy again explained about what she found in the book to Kaby and his wife. The sun was setting outside as Kaby took the book from Lucy. Sting, Kyuri, Levy, and Lisanna stood by the back of the couch as Kaby said almost appalled by them bringing the book back, "What is the meaning of this? I asked you to destroy this book."

(Cue Sad Past-Fairy Tail Original Soundtrack Volume 1)

"It would be easy to destroy. Even you could do it, Kaby." Lucy replied calmly.

"Then I will incinerate it, I don't even want to lay my eyes on this book!" Kaby spoke up with anger in his voice.

"I figured out why you can't allow this book to exist." Lucy replied back, a serious look on her face. "You want to preserve your father's pride. You're Kemu Zaleon's son, aren't you?" she asked the man.

"I knew the name was familiar, I can't believe it was your father." Levy said feeling dumb to not realize it, taking one hand that wasn't holding Lector and scratched her head. "I feel kind of dumb; I'm supposed to be the avid bookworm who knows all the writers and families." and looked to Sting and Lisanna, who were quieter from the reveal of the news, still eyeing Kaby Melon.

At the moment, I started to piece together the whole thing, the same with Lucy. Kaby was Kemu's son and that book was terrible, it could have ruin their family. But I wonder, what's more to it and what did Lucy learn?

What I don't understand and I feel Lisanna wonders too, it what secret he left behind in a book that was complete trash to anyone else, I don't get it.

"How did you know?!" asked Happy to Lucy, wondering how she knew from just reading it.

"Have you read this book?" asked Lucy.

"…No." replied Kaby silently. "But there's no need to. My father called it garbage."

"So you're just gonna burn it?!" Sting responded in in anger speaking up again in.

"That's right." Kaby replied in anger again.

Sting grunted slightly and step forward and grabbed the son of Kemu by his collar, Lector still in Levy's arms who gasped when Sting seem to lost his cool. "You're gonna burn it just because it's crap?! Don't you think that's going too far?! Your dad wrote that book! At least give him the benefit of the doubt!"

Lucy placed an arm in front of Sting to shield him from Kaby as the fellow blonde haired Dragon Slayer was push back. "Sting, it's to preserve his father's pride?! I know it's about you-know-who and both yours and Natsu's dad, but calm down!"

Kaby step back a bit from Sting's almost assault as Lisanna asked, "Why don't you explain to us? Did Mr. Zaleon really call it trash? That doesn't seem right, or in the right mind of a writer."

"Yes… My father was ashamed that he had written Daybreak. Thirty-one years ago." Kaby nodded and started to explain, opening his eyes.

Year X753, a much youthful Kaby Melon turned around to see his father, who walked into the house like it was no big deal. It was only three years since he last saw him, his father who left for a very important job, was gone for those three years, never to write or even keep up with him or his future wife.

"Dad!" Kaby said in a gasp, shocked to see his father after three years.

"Sorry for being gone for so long." He said at once standing by the doorway. Before Kaby could ask, he walked inside without another work.

He didn't talk much once inside and came to a chest, Kemu feeling angry at him for being gone, continued to berate him for his absence.

"Where in the hell were you?!" Kaby demanded to the writer. "You didn't contact me for three years!"

Kemu Zaleon took a rope out and tied it between the forearm and shoulder.

"I'm through. I'm giving up writing." Kemu said, making up his mind without even considering his actions.

"What…" was all Kaby could say when his father did the unthinkable.

Holding the cleaver in his other hand, he yelled, "I'll never write again!"

He took the cleaver to his writing arm and cut it, clean off…

Sting, Lisanna, Levy, Kyuri, and Lucy all but screamed from what they knew happened. Kemu Zaleon had cut off his writing arm. Not only was that gruesome but disturbing. Sure, he hated himself for writing it, but all that for one little book? Kyuri was turning paler than she ever was, wanting to faint on the spot, Levy, the avid bookworm, couldn't believe someone like Kemu could do such a thing. Lisanna almost looked like she was ready to throw up, and Sting and Lucy, the two blonde mages, had the same exact face of horror.

"Forgive me; I didn't expect this kind of reaction to my father's attempt at suicide…" Kaby admitted finally, making Sting look blankly at him.

S-S-S-suicide?" he stammered, finding something new to have motion sickness to.

Happy look at everyone along with Lector, the two young felines not quite understanding their fellow team mates' expression and asked, "I don't get it, what happened?"

"Happy, Lector…" Lisanna said slowly. "He cut off his writing arm."

Happy and Lector, being the youngest, felt the color drain from their bodies. They may have seen their worst in this world, but that was too much for them to handle. Once everyone calm down, they look to Kaby, wanting to get more to the story, just as long there aren't more dark suicide attempts for their liking. After the trauma was made, Kaby continued his tale from where the mages interjected.

After Kemu cut off his arm, he was now in a hospital bed after the event. Kaby look at his father and said with much hatred in his voice, "You're a fool. I told you three years ago you'd regret writing that crummy book!"

"The money was good." Kemu replied weakly to his son.

"You're pathetic!" Kaby retorted.

"Yes... I made it the most pathetic garbage possible…" Kemu smiled weakly.

"What are you smiling for?!" Kaby yelled back seeing the look on his face that made him sick in anger in his stomach. How can he smile after all this, after almost killing himself and getting put into this hospital bed? "You abandoned your family for three years because of that garbage?!" Kaby grunted in anger as Kemu spoke again.

"Kaby… You were always in my thoughts." Kemu said his smile still on his face.

"Then could've you just written whatever to mind and came home sooner!" Kaby requested, anger boiling inside. "You abandoned your family along with your pride as a writer! You were right about giving up writing; it's too much for people without pride." He walked from Kemu's hospital bed and added hotly, "Including you, dad."

Kemu Zaleon was now alone and a sad expression was on his face. He thought to himself, 'If only you knew the truth my son, maybe you'll understand…'

Time pass and Kaby stood in front of his father's grave; he had passed away so time after their last conversation where Kaby declared his father an outright fool.

"My Father died soon after." Kaby continued sadly as he sound hurt, "Even afterwards, I continued to hate him."

Sting, feeling better despite hearing of death to a father, had his back turned and listened in to the story. Lisanna, Levy, Kyuri, Lector and Happy face Kaby along with Lucy.

Mrs. Melon held close to her husband as Kaby added, "However, as the years passed, my hatred began to change into regret. But I have no way to apologize to him in person now. So I decided to at least make amends by preserving his honor and destroying this garbage of a book that was his final work." He took out a match and lit it. Lucy didn't react, but kept her hand on her hip, Lisanna had her hands behind her back. Kyuri and Levy, with felines in arms, didn't say a word or stopped him, knowing Lucy wasn't going to, Lisanna, or Sting, they best not intervene. "Now my father can be…"

"You're wrong." Lucy interrupted him, getting everyone's attention. The flames of the match was gone as Lucy announced, "It's begun."

"What's this?!" Kaby gasped as the book glowed as a purple magic circle appeared. The circle disappeared but the book was still glowing, the word 'Daybreak' was floating off the book cover.

"Kemu Zaleon…. No, his real name is Zekua Melon. He placed a magic spell on this book." Lucy explained calmly making Kaby look agape at her.

"A spell?" Kaby repeated.

The letters rearranged to form two new words: Dear Kaby, and place themselves back on the cover. Kaby read the name out loud. The book rose higher in the air and glow with a mixture of purple and gold light.

(Cue Fairy Tail Main Theme - Slow version-Fairy Tail original Soundtrack Volume 1)

"Yes, he left you a message." Lucy continued on, "He used a spell that rearranged letters. The entire book is rearranged."

Suddenly, letters and sentences began to fly from the book like golden ribbons and formed a sphere ribbon around the book. It was such a beautiful display, even in all their years with magic, learning the basics others, but seeing what was a whole new experience. Lisanna's blue eyes were open wide, taking in the beauty of it all.

"Whoa!" Lisanna, Sting, and Kyuri said in amazement.

"Pretty!" Happy and Lector said amazed too.

"Incredible, so this was what hidden in the book?" Levy said with amazement looking to Lucy, impressed by her, despite being a rookie, could solve such a puzzle on her own. She was quite a remarkable new friend and guild mate.

"The reason he gave up writing might have been because he not only wrote his worst book ever, but because he wrote his greatest book ever!" Lucy added again smiling lightly at Kaby, "A great book that was actually a letter to you!"

Then Kaby remembered is father's last words to him, his mind flashing back to their last conversation: You were always in my thoughts. Was this what he meant? Was this book that believed to the worst book ever be actually a letter to him? A tear came from his eyes as the light faded and the book now read: Dear Kaby by Zekua Melon. It softly landed back in Kaby's out stretch hands as Lucy continued happily, "That's the book Kemu Zaleon actually wanted to leave behind! "

Kaby kneel down to the ground and hugged the book tightly in his arms, feeling those feeling just wash away after on revelation. "Dad... Thank you. I can't burn this book now."

Sting, Levy, Kyuri and Lisanna look to Lucy as the Dragon Slayer said, "I guess we don't need our reward either, then."

"Aye!" Levy, Lector, Kyuri, Happy and Lisanna said in unison.

"That's true, I agree Sting." Lucy said at once, making the group look at her, thinking she was nuts. She seemed so psyched about the reward, now she changed her mind?

Lisanna then look back at Mr. and Mrs. Melon with smile like her friend Natsu's, with Kyuri with Happy, Levy with Lector, and Natsu looking back too. "Our job was to destroy the book. We didn't accomplish that." And Sting and Lisanna turned their backs from the Melons and faced the doors

"N-No. I would feel right…" Kaby replied. They did all this for him, at least he give them something for their troubles.

"No Lisanna's got a good point, we shouldn't accept it. It'll be selfish now since we just brought back the book we were supposed to destroy. I'll let this mission slide after all, it's only my first one, I think I can be the bigger person and move on." Lucy said in agreement with Lisanna as the white haired Takeover mage quickly hugged her, rubbing her cheek to her cheek (making Lucy blush with this much contact).

"Aww, that's so cute! You're acting like a real adult not a bratty little girl. I just want to hug you and squeeze you, and never let you go!" she squealed, making Kyuri and Levy giggle and Happy and Lector to hold back a laugh. Sting was blushing with a smile, seeing how happy Lisanna looked. Mr. and Mrs. Melon only looked at the Fairy Tail mages with a little smile, if they didn't want it, they shouldn't pry anymore for them to take it.

"That's great and all, but let go… You're embarrassing me in front of the client." She admitted, trying to pull Lisanna off, but the Takeover mage had a stronger grip on her.

"I guess we're all in agreement, we don't want the reward, Mr. Melon." said Kyuri holding back fits of giggles.

"We don't need what we don't weed." Sting assured the client as he and Levy were first to walk away to the door, Lisanna finally releasing Lucy to follow, speaking up to everyone again with a much calmer tone in her voice.

"Happy, Kyuri, Lector, Levy, Sting, Lucy, let's go home." Lisanna said and turned back with a smile to the Melon family. "You should hurry back to your own home too, Mr. Melon."

The two clients gasped as Sting smiled too. How did they know? Everyone including Lucy was confused by her last words, Lucy staring puzzled at her.

"Huh?"

Later that night, the group of Sting, Lisanna, Happy, Lector, Levy, Kyuri, and Lucy were now walking back to Magnolia Town while the beautiful night sky hovered over their heads. Many stars lit up the night sky along with the laminating quarter moon. The blonde haired Dragon Slayer walked in front of the pack with Happy, Levy, Kyuri, Lector, and Lisanna beside him while Lucy trudged behind them, trying to keep up with the others. Her thoughts were on what they learned before departing, which got her thinking.

"Hey Sting?" Lucy asked, speaking up to one of the duo leaders.

"Yeah, and sorry." Sting said, stopping in his tracks along with the others. "I didn't know you were still behind us."

"That's okay, but I just wanted to know, how did you and Lisanna notice?" Lucy asked, placing a hand to the back of her head before asking her question.

"About Mr. and Mrs. Melon?" Lisanna asked smiling to the Celestial mage, "That they weren't actually rich? He even said they rented the house just for show."

Kaby and his wife were extremely poor and since no one would take the request by a poor family, they rented the mansion just to impress any mage that would come. But even if another group of mages did the job, would they get a reward? Maybe some would feel cheated off after risking their lives. In the end, that what made Sting and Lisanna's group good? Sure the idea of the two million was grand, they helped recovered Kemu Zaleon's horrible now best work ever, and a son now knows the truth about those words his father told him on his deathbed.

"Still, they didn't have to do that. We would've taken the job anyway." Lucy reassured them.

"You sure?" asked Lector, "You were so happy about the money, what changed?"

"You think I'm always on about money, beside, it was a kind thing we did, and it's just one time I'll let it slide." Lucy said smiling at the group.

"Well, I was worried you'll chew our heads out for it, but I guess we all agree about." Lector said hopping back onto Sting's shoulders. "Sting-kun, I don't think we'll make it home in the dark, should we stop for the night?"

"Right, we'll stop for now and make an early start in the morning." Sting said to his group and Levy, deciding to stop on the path they were on and eat. They made a fire to cook the fish and lizards they found in the forest. While they waited for their meal to cook, Lucy wondered how Lisanna and Sting knew what she, Levy, Happy, Lector, and Kyuri didn't know.

"Hey Lisanna, Sting, what tipped you off about his house anyway?" Lucy asked intrigued.

"Well, they smelled different than the house. Anyone could tell that." Sting replied.

"And we didn't see many servants or even anything they gave off they owned it. I noticed off the bat as well." Lisanna said, taking a cooked lizard and ate it.

"I got to envy your scent of smell and deduction you two." Lucy said smiling before taking her cooked fish and looking to the fire, "Still, I kind of look up to novelists."

"I see, so that's why you have those…" Lisanna said before whispering into Lucy's eyes in a hush voice. "Papers on you table this morning. You're writing a novel aren't you?"

Lucy gasped in shock, as her cheeks were beat red, looking at the Takeover mage as everyone was too busy eating to wonder what the two girls were taking about except Sting and Lector who overheard and listened in. Sting leaned in, looking At Lucy with a curious smile.

"You're writing a novel, Lucy?" Sting asked curiously.

"Y-Yes, but please don't tell anyone about it?" she replied turning redder but keeping her voice down so Happy, Levy, and Kyuri couldn't hear it, looking very embarrassed.

"How come?" Lisanna and Lector asked.

Lucy covered her face with her faces, still embarrassed as she shake around in her spot. "I-I'm still a terrible writer. I'd be embarrassed if anyone reads it!"

"You need more confidence in yourself, you know that." Lisanna said as she laid her head to the ground and looked into the starry sky and held her fish in her hand. "You'll never know what you are made of if you always stay in your shell of doubt."

"Where did that come from?" Lucy asked looking to the younger white haired mage, her knees bent up.

"Remember my friend, the one me and Sting are looking, Natsu?" she asked and Lucy nodded to her. "If I were to give up, I be retracting into the shell I was two years ago, the same little girl who couldn't even stand up to…" but paused before spilling the beans of her past to Lucy, not now, not yet. She rose up from the ground and look to her, her blue eyes staring into her brown ones. Lucy saw it, the serious but kind smile she had, before the Takeover mage placed a hand to her shoulder, smiling warmly to her. "Try to be more confident, in not only yourself, but your skills as a mage. You're a Fairy Tail mage, time to prove to the world that you aren't a weakling, right?" (A/N 2)

Lucy look to Sting, Lector, and Lisanna with a light smile, the embarrass face she had when her novel was revealed was soon gone; instead some courage was placed in where her doubt was. Lisanna did have a point, maybe she did feel like a horrible writer, but feeling embarrassed the world might know think of it wouldn't help her in the slightest. She should try to be more confident, let them. She nodded, smiling to them.

"Okay."

The next day, continuing their return back, Sting's group were now wadding their way through a swamp, Sting in the lead with Happy and Lector on his shoulders, with Kyuri following along with Levy wadding the waters behind them. While everyone and everything looked the same, Lisanna was in another Animal Soul. She was a mermaid, her legs now a purple dolphin tail and wore a purple bikini top. She was performing a backstroke while Lucy was inside Horologium again. The clock spirit translated what Lucy was saying to everyone out the glass.

"Hold on, are you sure this is the right way, she asks unsure." Horologium translated.

"We should get there in a few hours, give or take is what I answer." Happy said replying to Lucy.

"Are you sure, you and Sting seem lost as well, she replies unsurely." Horologium translated again.

"Sting-kun and Happy-nii will find the way home, just you wait." Lector said with excitement in his voice.

"Let's just focus on getting out this swamp first." Levy said with Kyuri now swimming with Lisanna.

After minutes of wadding, the group left the swamp and walked on dry land on a pathway, Lisanna revert from her mermaid form to her normal appearance, carrying Happy and Kyuri on her shoulders. Levy was walking beside her with Sting and Lector on Sting's shoulders and Lucy was still riding in her clock spirit crouch down as Horologium walked. Lisanna, Happy, and Kyuri looked to the Celestial mage in the glass case, curious why she wasn't walking like the rest of them. "Why can't you just walk on your own?" Lisanna asked concerned.

"I'm tired, she says back to the white haired mage." Horologium translated.

"Ugh." Sting groaned annoyed. He didn't get why Lucy was being lazy. It's not like walking will kill her. Levy was fine walking, and Kyuri wanted to ride on Lisanna's back so she and Happy could keep a look out. Suddenly something caught Sting's and Lisanna's attentions as they stopped, followed by Levy and Horologium. The sounds if rustling was heard and it came from the bushes as a glint of eyes shined from the bushes. Seeing the odd glint, Lisanna and Kyuri leaped first, Kyuri leaping from Lisanna's back with Happy flying off.

(Cue Invoke Magic-Fairy Tail Original Soundtrack Volume one)

"

"What's that?" Lisanna asked as she and Kyuri had removed their bags and jump into the bushes to see who was there. Happy, Levy, Sting, Lector and Lucy could hear the sounds of a fight going on behind the bushes as Lucy watched in shock. She knew Lisanna would fight, being friends to her passing friend and Sting, but why did Kyuri follow, to assist her? Horologium had to the two mages' bags on his hands as he translated, "'You're too quick for a fight Lisanna', she inquires worriedly."

"Go get them, Kyuri and Lisanna!" Happy cheered happily to the fighting pair.

Finally they could hear the fighting stop, Kyuri and Lisanna leaping back out of bushes, but were followed by none other than Gray Fullbuster. Gray stood ready to fight, but Kyuri looked angry at him, the same boy she wanted to look up to three years ago which cause her to run away by his harsh words. She held her black katana at the ready as the two were angry at each other, while Lisanna was shocked to see him here in the forest, in his underwear for that manner. Sting and the others gasped, seeing their fellow Fairy Tail member out here.

"Gray!" Levy gasped, seeing the Ice make mage out here so far from Magnolia. She clapped her hands to her face, not just seeing him, but seeing him in his blue boxers

"Why is he in his underwear, she asks in disgust." Horologium translated.

"I was looking for a bathroom." Gray answered to Lucy as Sting sighed ay his fellow guild mate, wishing he pick a better place to do his business.

"Then why did you strip down just to do so, Gray." Lisanna sighed before jumping back to see the deadly cold glare Kyuri had on Gray. Her blade was grip tightly as she pointed at him, not taking her eyes off him.

"And why would there be a bathroom in the middle of a forest anyway?" Kyuri asked with an annoyed tone in her voice, not wanting to even be in same air as him. Gray narrowed his eyes, looking at the young Ice Sculpt mage.

"You should butt out when people are trying to go to the bathroom, little Kuruwa." Gray scoffed, getting annoyed at the same girl that him got in trouble (and painfully scarred) by Ur and Lisanna.

Kyuri's purple eyes twitched as she got into Gray's face, the once shorter girl was only near his neck as he glared back at her, both mages surging with blue magical energy.

"What you implying, Fullbuster?" she asked hotly at him.

"I'm saying poser Ice mages shouldn't be playing out in the forest." he retorted glaring at her.

"Who are you calling poser, Ice stripper!" she shouted, raising her voice at him.

"I'm talking about you, emotionally brat!" he yelled back everyone watch them bitter and yell insults at each other as Lucy watched with a pale look in her face.

"They are so childish!" she admitted blankly.

"She says to Dragon Slayer, Takeover, cats, and Solid Script mages." Levy finished smiling.

After things calm down (and Sting and Lisanna breaking them apart), the group stood by a cliff near the water so Happy could fish. Gray finally found his clothes, wearing a plain white short-sleeve shirt and green pants along with black shoes. The group plus Gray talk amongst themselves as Happy mind his own business.

"Oh, you're on your way back from a job?" Lucy asked curiously looking to the Ice make mage as Levy clutched at her knees.

"Cutting through this forest is the quickest way back to Magnolia." Gray explained looking to Celestial Spirit and to the forest behind them.

"So we were going the right way, we were right." Happy said cheerfully his back still turned from the group.

"Still, you got lucky since Gray turned us in the right direction." Lucy assured the blue cat as Sting frowned at the fellow blonde. Kyuri frowned, polishing her katana from all the battling the blade had.

"Now that you told us, is there any particular reason you are out here trying to get back?" asked Kyuri, her eyes narrowed as she finished polishing her blade. She held the black katana into the sky to admire it's clean and shine, the blade's sheen bouncing off the sunlight above. "Because you are really testing my patience if you don't go home, Gray."

"She really doesn't like him, and she only what a few years younger?" Lucy asked whispering into Levy's ear.

"Yes, three years ago, when we were much younger Lu, Kyuri used to look up to Gray as a role model because both them and Ur could do Ice magic, but after Gray said some hurtful things, Kyuri ran away. That's probably why she was in Hargeon like you were." Levy replied, looking into the cold eyes that weren't facing the Ice make mage.

"I was planning to, Kyuri." Gray said and rose up from the ground to face the cliff, "We're in huge trouble if we don't hurry back, all eight of us. And I'm including certain blue haired prominent leaders who are assisting another team." (A/N 3)

"W-What you mean, I'm in trouble?" Levy asked startled by Gray's statement, knowing he was referring to her just not in name.

"What's up, what's the rush we get back home, Gray?" Lucy asked curiously, cocking her head while looking at him.

Gray still looked at the Cliffside, his back turned from the group before speaking, his tone much as cold as serious as it sounded, "Erza and Luke, they're going to be back soon." He confirmed to the team, making Sting, Lisanna, and Kyuri gasped, along with Happy, Levy, and Lector, surprising them as Lucy said in shock, "You mean the Erza?!"

"Lucas-san's still going on mission Erza-san? Hard to believe how close they still are." Kyuri said, hearing one of the names of a familiar Fairy Tail member before realizing the second name she spoke of. (A/N 4)

"I know Luke's name, I heard of him, but Erza?" Lucy asked, getting Lisanna's attention to her along with Levy.

"You must have heard of her. Erza is one the strongest members of Fairy Tail." Lisanna as Levy added reassuringly to the Takeover mage, "In our generation, Lisanna."

As the girls minus one spoke, Both Kyuri and Gray had the feeling of depression upon them knowing full well Erza will be back, even if it was with Luke and his other companion. Lisanna, Sting, Lector, and Happy were the calmest of the bunch, while taken aback from the news; happy Erza and Luke were doing fine, as the two were on jobs while they were on Natsu searching.

Lucy turned around and squealed in delight, her brown eyes lit up after hearing another popular female mage next to Mirajane herself. acting giddy just thinking about it. "Wow! I want to meet her!" She looked to Kyuri and Gray, both seem to know we well enough to ask. "Oh, but I never saw any photos of Erza in the magazines at all… What's she like?"

"Scary." The two Ice mages said at once to her question making her look at them puzzled by their choice of word.

"Huh?" Lucy asked puzzled at what they described Erza.

Lisanna and Sting groaned and place a hand to their foreheads, noting a bit was going to happen now. "Here we go again…" as Levy sighed, holding her knees to her chest.

"A wild animal…?" Gray questioned looking to Kyuri and Lucy.

"A beast…?" Kyuri questioned looking to.

"More like a full fledge monster!" Happy and Lector chimed in, getting into the fray.

Trying to get a full idea was they were talking about, Lucy imagined a large fire breathing monster with long hair terrorizing a town. It was hard to believe. Those two had just much imagination as writers; Lucy noted they should get into writing.

"She's not that big." Happy and Lector said, correcting the two Ice mages.

"No, she's surprisingly big." Kyuri said, crossing her arms with a scowl on her face.

"In terms of scariness, Lucy's image of her isn't far off the mark." Gray said reassuringly to the Ice Sculpt and the two cats.

"No, she might be even bigger!" Kyuri demanded, raisin

An image of monster Erza kicking a mountain was in Lucy's mind now, still hard to believe. Lisanna, Sting, and Levy groaned in annoyance, they really wish they didn't overdo it with her.

"About this big maybe…?" Kyuri asked still holding her arms out.

"No, I'd say she could demolish three mountains with one kick…" Gray corrected her crossing his arms before Lisanna had enough of this, tapping to the two on the shoulders.

"Come on you guys, stop exaggerating Erza. She's not that bad of a person." Lisanna reminded them, knowing the mage for six years; she wasn't as bad a person.

"Of course you see it that way; you, Sting and Mirajane don't piss her off." Gray retorted to the Takeover mage.

"Because I don't do anything as stupid as my older brother to get on her bad side, need I remind you I'm you I'm the good brother?" Sting said narrowing his eyes at the Ice Make mage.

"Okay you guys, break it up." Levy said waving her hands at the two boys and Kyuri. "If Erza's coming home, we should beat her home before she beats us, and I don't mean the metaphorically we beat her to the guild, I talking her beating us up and I still have head trauma from last time." As the Solid Script mage look to Lucy who was in a mode of sadness, hearing everything she had to know about Erza, even if it was a bit of a stretch. (A/N 5)

'Women who can destroy three mountains with a single kick…? She might be scary.' She thought in fear.

"Anyway, we gotta hurry back." Gray reminded them.

"Crap, let's go." Kyuri said at once, placing her katana back into her sheath as she and the others rose up from the ground. Suddenly just as they were about to leave, an explosion caught the six mages and cats off guard as they were blindsided by it. Their faces were covered from the dust, unable to see what happened. The dust finally cleared and the mages were now buried in sand, Natsu the only one who's head in the sand. Lucy and Lisanna cough out the sand from their mouths as Gray shouted, "a mage?!" as Sting realized two of their number were mission.

"Happy, Lector, where are you?!" Sting called out to Natsu's and Lisanna's partner and his own.

"Aye…" Happy and Lector said weakly back.

The two cats were tied to a stick and was ready to be cook by a couple of mages, a small group of them. The first one was a big humanoid chicken with yellow skin, red hair and beard. He has beady eyes, a triangular mouth and no apparent nose and ears. He wore blue overalls with two lighter colored pockets in the rear and a pair of red shoes for footwear. The second were a pair of two twin males. The twins were completely identical with both of them having slightly long orange hair and black eyes. They wore identical dark red and white collared coats under of which is a black and khaki colored V-neck shirt. The two also wear a pair of dark blue trousers and brown shoes for footwear. The third was a tall slim man with black eyes and black hair that hangs on either side of his head, bordering his face. He wore a white shirt under a collared purple jumpsuit with metal shoulder and thigh guards. He also donned a pair of black boots for footwear. In his hand was a purple Lacrima crystal ball. The last one was a small humanoid troll with dark grayish skin and no hair. He bears the mark of his guild on the left side of his head, in between his pointed ears. He has two slits for a nose and usually wore a confident sneer. He wore a green shirt with a hood and a pair of red gloves. He wore brown trousers under a dark white quilt and a pair of black shoes for footwear. The twin mages's mouths were watering, seeing Happy and Lector on a stick tied up like that. "I haven't had protein in a while." spoke the twin of the left.

"I am sick of eating nuts." spoke the twin on the right.

"Meat!" spoke the chicken with a squawk of his voice.

"Looks good!" spoke the crystal ball holding mage.

Happy and Lector was trembling, were these guys going to eat them?

"Oh, look!" the right twin pointed out to the lot of them.

"They're shaking!" the left twin added.

"Sorry. I know you two are scared, but you'll be in your stomachs soon enough." The gray skinned mage said with a smile.

"No, I'm not shaking because I'm scared…" Happy assured them looking at them with his black eyes.

"Huh?" the gray skinned mage asked in confusion.

"We have to go to the bathroom." Lector confirmed them nervously.

"Huh?" the crystal ball mage asked in confusion.

"I don't think I can hold it I can hold it in. It'll probably make me taste really weird, too..." Happy added, but the gray skinned mage interrupted him.

"Shut up!" he told the cats and ordered to the chicken not caring of the pleas of the two felines, "Do it!"

"Meat!" squawked the chicken. The chicken held out a staff as a red magic circle appeared from it and red hot flames appeared making Happy and Lector scream out in terror. They were serious on eating them.

"Make mine medium, please." requested the crystal ball mage,

"I can't hold anymore… It's gonna make us taste strange! I hope you don't mind!" Happy pleaded wanting them to stop so he and his brother could do their business.

"Hold it right there!" five voices announced, causing the chicken to jump in shock.

Standing on top of one of the large rocks stood Sting, Lisanna, Gray, Levy, Kyuri, and Lucy. The Celestial mage then called out, "Happy, Lector, we're here to save you!"

"Thank goodness, I didn't end up tasting weird." Happy cried with tears of joy along with Lector as the short gray skinned mage eyed them for saying that.

"You are still saying that?" the gray skinned mage asked.

"That's our friends you have there." Sting said, cracking his knuckles. "We can't let you eat him."

"We don't care how hungry you are, gives us back Happy and Lector." Lisanna and Kyuri demanded, getting ready to fight as Kyuri took out her katana again.

"You guys are mages? What guild are you from?" Gray asked in a serious tone wondering what group of mages was going in the forest.

"None of your business, Get them!" sneered the gray skinned mage. The hungry mages left the gray skinned mage's sides and went to fight the six mages. Sting smiled confidently as he looked to Gray, Kyuri, and Lisanna.

Cue Gray's theme-Fairy Tail Original Soundtrack Volume 1)

"Guys, let's go." he said to the three.

"You need to tell us twice." Gray said with a serious look on his face.

With serious looks on their faces as they smiled one by one, Sting, Kyuri, Gray, and Lisanna went into action. The Dragon Slayer and Takeover mage quickly dodge the twins as Gray and Kyuri evaded the chicken. From below, the gray skinned mage then slammed his fist to the ground as a yellow magic circle appeared. "Take this, Sand Bomb!"

Sand picked up around the gray skinned mage as Sting and Lisanna couldn't stop themselves in the air as they then trap inside a large sand ball. Lucy gasped, following Levy down the hill to assist the others, seeing the two leaders were caught in the sand.

"Sting, Lisanna!" Lucy called out to them in the ball of sand.

"Don't worry about them! You two go get Happy!" Gray and Kyuri ordered, both looking their way at the two mages before looking back.

"R-Right, Levy-chan, let's go!" Lucy remembered and followed Levy, Kyuri, and Gray to where the other mages were and where Happy and Lector was to save him.

The twins dived down to attack Gray and Kyuri with small swords, but the Ice mage punched and kick the first twin mage out of the air as he fell. The second twin then came towards Kyuri, who took to her blade to duel with the twin. The two shared mad blows at one another, Kyuri getting punched back with each they made. But despite the trouble, Kyuri still held in there. Kyuri ducked one more swing from the twin who gasped, surprised how quick she was. While still kneeled to the ground, she twisted her body around in a 360 spin, hitting the twin with the edge of the blade, sending him flying. She rose up and smiled, placing her hand to her hip, "That felt… Too easy, they really must be weak of hunger." As Levy and Lucy was untying the ropes the bound Happy and Lector to the stick. Both felines looked terrified seeing them, worried they were hungry too.

"Lucy, Levy, please don't eat us!" Happy cried out in fear of the two.

"I'm saving you; we're not going to eat you!" Lucy assured the cats as Levy yelled out, getting Lucy's attention, "Lu-chan!"

Lucy looked up to and screamed as the chicken appeared over them, still holding the flaming staff he was going to use on Happy and Lector to cook them, now ready to use it on them. Levy shielded Lucy with her arms out, ready to protect the mage along with Happy and Lector too.

"Meat!" he cried as he tried to attack them but Gray came in the nick of time to save Lucy and Happy. The Ice mage then kicked the chicken as he toppled to the ground. Lucy and Levy sighed with relief, glad Gray was here to save them.

"Next!" Gray growled, looking to the final of the hungry mages who dare attack his guild mates. Last standing was the Crystal ball mage, who Gray thought was charging up an attack, ready to see what he had to offer, hoping a challenge than the others. But he stopped, his crystal ball stop glowing too as he said speaking directly at Gray, "You will see the person you wanted to see. I see trouble with women and water in your future." (A/N 6)

It's just a fortuneteller?" Gray asked annoyed and confused, but roared in anger dashing foreword at him, "You're obnoxious!" and then punched the fortuneteller out with one mighty. Lucy stood there in amazement, since it was the first time she saw Gray fight since meeting him a few days back.

"He's not even using magic… Incredible…" Lucy said amazed, but then pointed out seeing Gray was missing something during the fight as both she and Levy shouted, "Gray, you're clothes!"

The Ice mage looked down and see his was in his boxers again, stripping his clothes during the fight. "Oh!" he gasped.

The gray skinned mage had watched the battle with Gray and Kyuri, who took out four of their men on his own. The Sand bomb that carried Sting and Lisanna was still in the air.

"Who are these guys?" he asked in disbelief.

Behind him, the Sand Bomb exploded and Sting and Lisanna had escaped. They drop back to the ground to face the gray skinned mage, both really angry. Lisanna was back in her Phoenix Soul as the mage exclaimed in shock seeing them, "Aww, crap!"

"Why you!" Sting growled, spitting out sand from his mouth, "I'll teach you to fill someone's mouth with sand!"

Sting slammed his fists together as a white magic circle and white winds appeared below as the White Dragon Slayer leaped forward. "Here goes, White Dragon Holy Fist!" with his fist wrapped in in a white ball of magical energy, Sting punched the gray skinned mage in the stomach that sent him in a ball of light and into the air. Lisanna then stood ready to finish the gray skinned mage off, shouting to Levy and Kyuri, "Levy-chan, Kyuri-chan, it's your turn!"

"Right!" yelled both girls as Levy crossed her arms together surging with magical power as she shouted out loud, "Solid Script: Ice!" as a light blue block of ice shaped like the word appeared in front of Kyuri as she touched it at once, channeling her magic into it.

"Ice Sculpt: Ice Katana!" she shouted, a blue magic appearing in front of the block of ice as she pulled from the ice a second Katana shaped like her own. With the second blade in hand, she dashed forward to where Lisanna was, passing her as the black and white Ice Sculpt mage leaped into the air as Lisanna's body surged with fire magic.

"This will finish you off!" Lisanna placed her two hands together as a red magic circle appeared from them, red and orange flames circling around her body and shouted, "Phoenix Flame Burst!" as a powerful stream of flames came from the magic circle and her hands and collided with Kyuri, but instead of burning her, the fire around her quickly absorbed into the two blades, the fire surround her normal attack and her ice one. While airborne, she came towards the grey skinned mage who gasped seeing her.

"What the…!" He yelled out in shock, as Kyuri held both blades in hand, ready to strike.

"This is what you get for trying to make a meal out my friends!" she shouted furiously at the mage, now striking with many mad swings of her blades, the elements of fire and ice hitting him too, juggling the mage higher into the sky. With one more strike, she juggled him higher and rose to his level too, both blades glowing red and blue. "This is the end, Ice Flame Phoenix Dive!" she announced and with one more strike, preformed a downward slash that sent the grey skinned mage crashing down to the ground, creating an explosion that boomed loudly in the forest. When the smoke cleared, all the mages they battled were now tied up and defeated. Sting, Kyuri, Gray, and Lisanna had their backs turned from the mages as Gray said to young Ice Sculptor, "Don't get so serious about small fuses." with his hands to his side. (A/N 5)

"Want me to freeze that mouth of yours?" Kyuri spat, her second katana dismissed and her normal one to her hip bone again.

"You wish. You were lucky Lisanna and Levy helped you with such a small attack." Gray taunted in annoyance.

"Huh, What you say?!" Kyuri snapped, looking at the Ice Make mage.

"Be grateful we won, you guys. You act like such children." Lisanna replied, placing her hands to her sides with Sting nodding in agreement, both Kyuri and Gray snapping at Lisanna next.

"We do not!" they retorted back.

As the two mages starting to argue again (With Lisanna hoping they stop), Lucy was near the defeated mages, the Celestial mage hearing something being muttered by the gray skinned mage.

"…Lulla…" he muttered weakly.

"What, 'Lulla'?" Lucy asked confused.

"Lulla… by… is…" he added weakly so Lucy could hear him. This got Sting and other two's attention.

"Huh?" Gray asked in confusion.

"Lullaby?" asked Sting and Lisanna.

But before the gray skinned mage could continue, a shadow came rushing to the tree the mages were tied up on. Happy and Lector pushed Sting, Kyuri, Gray, and Lisanna out of the way where the shadow was going. Like a hand reaching for poor souls to drag to hell, the shadow took the mages as they screamed for mercy and part of the tree went along with it into the earth. The six mages, Lector and Happy gasped, seeing what they saw before their very eyes.

"What was that?!" Lucy gasped looking around with Levy and Lisanna.

"Whose there?!" Sting yelled out with Gray and Kyuri looking around too.

"I already can't sense them anymore. Whoever it is, they're fast." Gray added, not knowing an unknown mage was leaving the scene by jumping through the trees.

Everyone got back on the feet, still confused at what just happened. First they were attacked, then one of them muttered something, and now the mages they tied up were gone. This day just got odder and odder for Team Strauss, Gray, and Levy.

"Damn! I don't know what going!" Sting said crossing his arms with a grown.

"Lullaby?" Lucy repeated, hand to her chin.

"A song, A rhyme, what is it?" Lisanna asked.

"Who knows, but let's get home, Jet and Droy are probably worried about me." Levy said as the group of eight made their fast trek home right away to see Erza and face the music when they see her; unaware something big was to happen that would get the newly formed team involved badly.

I started to get this feeling in my gut that those mages would have said too much, that's why they got taken. Lullaby…. I got a bad feeling just thinking about it. We should get back to town too. I have a feeling Erza will be back now. Oh boy, Levy, Sting, Kyuri, Gray, Lucy, and I might be in for a treat.

Meanwhile back in Magnolia, three unknown people was walking through town as the citizens all gasped just by looking at the unknowns. The large object the person was carried left a dark shadow over the first person, but the citizens knew who this was: Red hair… Armor…. She was back. Along with her, a boy around seventeen years old who wore a black coat and two blades in an X formation on his back followed alongside her. Lastly, a small black and white cat perched on the boy's shoulders. While the older woman had a serious scowl, the boy had a gentler smile to him as they made their walk to their destination.

To be continued…

Michael: And that ends chapter 4 and finally we finish the Daybreak arc, sorry for taking long, but once I had a chance to finally work on this chapter, it took since last Wednesday to finish it. Since it's very long, did all the events of the chapter, gave some interactions between Team Strauss, Gray, and Levy, and showed the started rivalry between Gray and Kyuri, which replaces the rivalry of Gray and Natsu and development arc for him and Kyuri throughout the story, mostly in the Galuna Island and the Sun Village arcs. Not much to say apart from the complains I'm getting from the later arc, considering the battles with the demons and Lisanna's comical fight with Lummy, a demon that got into a fight with Lisanna while Mira fought Sayla before she overwhelmed her. Yes, someone losing or getting overwhelm means Hiro hates them and favors Erza and Natsu… this fanbase makes me realize how bull shit their words are, they say that when it comes to Natsu or Erza, but with anyone else, they make into Gary Stu or Mary Sue characters, which contradicts their words about the Fairy Tail story. And you know I feel about the clichéd plots I find with the same plot that comes up almost every day.

Lisanna *patting Michael on the shoulder*: Before you go on a rant again, we got titles for the Lullaby arc:

Episode 5: The Mages of Armor and Dual Blades! Erza and Luke

Episode 6: Battle at the Oshibana Station! Eisenwald vs. Team Strauss

Episode 7: Fire, Light, and Wind!

Episode 8: The Strongest Team! Team Strauss unites

Episode 9: The stories of our past!

Episode 10: Sting and Lisanna vs. Erza.

Sting: That's it from us, and also, our writer Michael turns 23 on April 20th, so wish him a happy birthday.

Happy and Lector *waving their paws*: Bye-Bye!

#1 I'll let your mind wander on that, let's just say, if Mira told her, she knows.

#2 foreshowing for Lucy, Sting, and Lucy's character development arcs

#3 trivia: Everyone but Jet, Droy, and those left behind on Tenrou Island are noted as Prominent Members and those have more battles and events, Team Natsu with the most of the all along with Wendy and Carla. Levy was supposed to just be a minor member, but as time went on in the arcs, she became more of a prominent member of Fairy Tail, more than her team mates. While I like all the guild members equally, I won't mind Jet and Droy gone, even Romeo is more important than them, he helps in the Key of the Starry Sky arc.

#4 Lucas is Luke's name in proper form, only Erza and a set number call him that. I thought it would make him stand out if someone just likes to call him Lucas than Luke, like how most like our parents, calls us by our middle or proper names.

#5 reference to OVA 1: Welcome to Fairy Hills. Not to spoil it, but all you need to know is that Levy has a big mouth for someone not a main character.

#6 if you are curious and are following the anime and manga. foreshadowing to another character to be introduced in the later arcs.

#7 Do I really need to mention I have way too much time on my hands outside school, so it's watching videos on YouTube. I based this finisher on Lloyd's Mystic Arte from the Tales series. I think it's good, because Kyuri, an OC and a main character too, got the final blow. I'm going to make sure the OCs get a lot of moments working together in Team Strauss.
