The next two chapters will be wrote in Elijahs POV with his journey to Mystic Falls and the other in Elenas POV with Klaus. :)
Mystic Falls.
The one place he detested being, he never had any good fortune here, the only good thing that ever came from it was Elena.
Oh how he missed her.
He tried to not think about her too much; everytime he did, anxiety and dread would consume him at the thought of her being alone with Niklaus, he tried to stay focused on his task with Bonnie Bennett.
The day had passed quite rapidly, most of it spent waiting for her to return home, assuming she attended school, she would arrive shortly. He took the book from his pocket and quickly skimmed through it; there where many drawings of objects and creatures he had not come across in the 1000 years he had roamed this earth, that alone made him uneasy, along with the language being unknown, he dread to think of what would come from this.
Minutes later, Elijah saw Bonnie, she was walking up the pathway to her front door, just as she pulled her keys out of her bag, Elijah had sped towards her, appearing next to her in a flashl; a small gasp escaped her lips, confused by the sight of him.
"Elijah?" Her facial expressions started with tough and ready to attack but then her mind wandered to Elena, "Why are you here? Is Elena okay?"
He could hear her heart racing, probably from concern towards Elena.
"Elena is quite alright," He stood straight, slid is hands into his pocket and gave her a smirk, "It's you I'm here to see."
"Ah, that's even better." She rolled her eyes, opened her door and crossed over the threshold, "I've had a pretty bad day, I'm not really in the mood for a big fight, so if you're here to kill me, it's best you just don't."
Elijah once again, smirked at her, full of amusement, "If I was here to kill you, you would have been dead 10 times over already."
"So, what do you want?"
"We need your help."
"By we I assume you mean you and Klaus?" She crossed her arms, shifting her body weight to one side, she wasn't at all prepared for this visit. "I won't help him."
"It's for Elena." His facial features even softened at the sound of her name, "I don't particularly want to remain here for any longer than needed, I need to return as quickly as possible, Elena is alone with Klaus as we speak, I don't like it. So, will you help me or not?"
As much as she wanted to say no, slam the door in his face and get on with her life, she couldn't, this was Elena.
"Come on in." She sighed as she stepped aside, giving him room to enter, "What is it you need?"
They stepped into the kitchen, Elijah placed the book on the counter and Bonnie looked it over. "This book once belonged to one of your ancestors; we came into contact with a very powerful witch who informed me that she wrote it and only Bennett witches can read it."
"Is it a spell book?"
"Well, I can't read it so I couldn't tell you." He repeated himself distastefully.
She picked the book up and looked at the cover, she felt a wave of energy wash over her, enough to take her breath away; she threw the book back onto the counter.
"That was weird." She just stared at it, unsure whether to trust the magic radiating from it.
"What was?" Elijahs brows furrowed, intrigued by this book.
"I felt something from it, it washed over my entire body," She paused for a second, thinking as hard as she could but it didn't make sense, "It was like it was verifying who I am."
"What do you mean?"
"Did it happen to you when you picked the book up?" She asked curiously.
"No, nothing happened." More intrigue.
She took a deep breath and reached for the book again, as soon as she grasped it, she felt the wave of energy again only this time, she opened the first page; although it was in a different language, she could read it.
"That's insane," She spoke in utter disbelief, her attention completely taken over by it, "I can read it but I've never seen this language before in my life. I'm guessing my ancestors created this language themselves and the magic I felt was what gave me the skill to read it, they must have been powerful witches."
"Well, what does it say?" Elijah was relieved, he felt this may not take much longer.
"A lot."
"Anything about a weapon?"
"I'll look," She flickered through the pages, she felt herself becoming stronger the more she delved into it, it was incredible, "Here it is. My ancestors created a blade that could kill almost anything, there's mention of one half being with these monks that they had an alliance with and the other half..."
Elijah was staring at her, watching her read and waiting for her to finish her sentence. He was growing more impatient by the moment.
"It's buried in the tomb where the blind one lies; in the place that houses 6 ravens," Bonnie shrugged her shoulders and looked towards Elijah, "Does that mean anything to you?"
"I believe so," Finally, answers! He was excited to leave, "Does it say how to use the weapon?"
"You have to use magic to bind the two halves of the weapon, after that, all you do is aim and poke." She smirked out of amusement.
"And let me guess, a Bennett witch has to perform the spell?"
"Yep! Looks like I'll be seeing you again soon," She placed the book down momentarily and took a step towards him, "Next time, can you bring Elena? We all really miss her, I need to know she is okay."
As much as Elijah didn't want her to return, he could see the pain she was suffering from, her best friend left her, how could he refuse? "Of course."
"Thank you, Elijah." She returned to the book, tracing over the words as fast as she could, looking for anything that stands out, when all of a sudden, her entire body seemed to be stiff, "The book says something about a powerful demon-"
"Yes, the demon king; we need to stop him."
"It will be difficult! It was always his plan to bring about an actual hell on earth; to perform this ritual, he would have to spend years acquiring the power he would need to complete it."
"Go on.."
"Elijah, it would take 200 years to gain this dark power, it's evil in its purest form, he would have had to have died, went to hell and returned to trigger the start of the spell."
They both didn't speak for a minute, the realisation of how serious this matter was, was now hitting him.
"He already has returned."He spoke, his voice low and quiet.
"There's a series of other rituals he has to complete before he can unleash hell on earth; he has to sacrifice 3 people: a holy one, an innocent one and an evil one that cannot die, when there souls arrive in hell, this will trigger the next ritual."
"How many rituals are there?" He asked.
"3, then the final ritual to unleash him," Her eyes where full of fear as she continued to read; she turned the page and gasped slightly, holding it up to show him, "These creatures are hell spawns, nothing can kill them, they only murder and destroy."
"What are the other 2 rituals?"
"It says the next ritual involves opening the sky and scorching the earth in wind, fire and water. I actually know of a spell like this one; I'll look into it and reach out when I know more." She said as she looked up at him, she was suddenly very scared at Elijah's facial expressions, if he had a look of fear about him then there was definitely something to worry about.
"And final ritual?
"Set fire to holy ground and raise a dark soul, completing this ritual will burn the veil between worlds and open a crack big enough to release everything in hell; the main threat being the monster that resides there, we know him as the devil but he's nothing but fire and destruction."
Silence once again filled the room, they where both pondering the devastation that would come from this ritual; everything they knew would come to an end and the world be set on fire. An actual apocalypse.
"Wow," She said, utter shock, "I'm starting to miss the days where we would just fight your brother."
They both nodded there head simultaneously, a little snicker of amusement escaping from there lips at the notion.
"Simpler times," He agreed, "Thank you for your help, Bonnie, it's truly appreciated.
"Let me keep the book, I'll study it some more and see if I can find anything useful."
He nodded his head, "Please do, call me with anything you may discover."
"I will," As he headed to the door, Bonnie had one final thing to say, "Please, keep Elena safe."
"With my life." And with that, he left.
As soon as he stepped foot out of the house and onto the street, he took his phone out of his pocket and dialled Klaus' number; to his surprise, it went straight to voicemail, panic now creeping in, "Brother, call me, you're not going to like what I found out. I'll be back in Pennsylvania tonight."
