The plane had landed; Elena had slept through the rest of journey, trying to forget about the moment that Klaus had tried to kiss her; she felt as though she was betraying Elijah, she knew how she felt about him but Klaus had surprised her, he opened up to her and that warmed her heart. Something she never expected from him was to actually feel something towards him, she just didn't know what those feelings where or what they meant.
They exited the airport, everyone oddly silent.
They where all awaiting for a car to arrive that Kol had ordered to collect them, the silence was awkward; Elena was too distracted by Elijah, she watched him, trying to figure out how much he knew about there conversation last night and how he felt about it but he just looked as blank as he normally would.
"Klaus, I'm gonna go grab something to eat," She said, breaking the silence, all the original vampires turning to look at her, "I forgot to eat on the plane, I'm hungry."
"You've never been in this city before, you have no idea were you are going." He protested.
"I'll find somewhere, text me the details of the hotel we're staying at, I'll grab a cab and I'll meet up with you there." She smiled at him.
"I won't let you wander around alone, you're too important," He spoke without thinking, everyone more confused than ever. He cleared his throat, scrambling to find words, "Your blood is too important, I meant, I need more hybrids."
"I'll accompany her to breakfast, brother," Elijah interjected, just as she hoped he would, "I'll keep her safe and have her returned to the hotel in a couple of hours."
"Fine," He spat, he didn't like the idea of this but he couldn't refuse her, "Keep me updated."
Elijah nodded towards his brother before moving next to Elena, "There's a cafe not far from here, we shouldn't be too long."
"Sounds great." Elena smiled towards Klaus and they both took off in the opposite direction.
They walked a short distance away from them, Elijah watching and waiting for them to leave; he didn't quite know what to say to her, so he just continued to escort her to the cafe.
When they arrived, they sat in a booth tucked away in the corner for privacy, neither of them had yet to speak.
"Elijah, I can't take this silence, please talk to me." She pleaded, his demeanour still cold towards her.
"I don't know what to say."
"Say what you're thinking, I know you weren't asleep on the plane."
He finally looked at her, seeing the guilt that was so loudly expressed on her face, "At first, I was enraged that my brother would attempt to kiss you, I wanted to rip his heart from his chest the instant I heard his heart beating heavier for you but then I heard yours beating faster too."
"Elijah-"
"Not only did I have to sit there powerless listening to you both talk as personally as you did, I had to act as though it meant nothing to me, even though I couldn't help but feel betrayed. Of course, it's not Niklaus' fault, he has no knowledge of us. What does he mean to you?" He asked bluntly.
"Nothing. It started with just following our plan, getting him to trust me but when he spoke so honestly to me, I couldn't help but feel a connection to him."
"What does that mean, Elena?" He prayed her answer was simple and that they could move past this, he didn't want to play games, especially with her.
"I'm not sure," She shook her head slightly, unsure of how to explain herself, "For a moment, I felt as though I could relate to him, be honest about my darkest secrets without judgement."
"You can be honest with me, Elena."
"I don't want you to think less of me."
"That's impossible."
"Elijah, you're the only person I want to be with; I don't feel anything towards Klaus or anyone else, not like I do for you." She leaned over the table, placing a soft kiss on his lips, "You have to believe me."
"I want too." He returned her kiss before placing his forehead on hers.
"Everything is just becoming so complicated; no-one can know about us, I have to act like I don't care for you when we're around your siblings which is hard because every moment I'm around you, my whole body is screaming to be close."
"I know, it's not fair." Elijah used his speed to sit beside her, she sat back down and turned to face him, "It won't be forever."
"Can't we just tell them?"
"Definitely not, especially now Klaus is bonding with you, he'll see it as a betrayal from both of us and with the battle nearing, he can't be distracted. As much as I hate to admit it, I can't watch him die."
"I get it, I just don't have to like it," She shot a smile at him before placing her lips on his again, leaning further into him.
"We should get you something to eat and leave, they'll be wondering where we are."
Elena nodded her head and pulled away from him, she still felt as though they hadn't fully resolved there issues, like Elijah was still upset with her; she didn't want him to push her away but she didn't know how else to reassure him.

They had returned to the hotel an hour or so later, Klaus more than happy to see them both return so hastily, he was almost sure that after the conversation he had with Elena last night that she was trying to avoid him.
They had all met in Klaus' penthouse to go over the details of the plan one last time.
"I have 7 hybrids in the city awaiting my call, the second we know of the whereabouts of the demon king, we attack; if we can't find him before the full moon, then we stop the ritual and attack with all that we have."
"How can we find him before the full moon?" Kol asked.
"Well, we know that other half of the weapon we require to kill him is here, now that he knows we are aware of its location, he'll want to obtain it first, he's probably here in this city as we speak; as for the ritual, it can be performed anywhere under a full moon." Elijah spoke.
"And where is it the weapon again?" Rebekah interjected.
"Buried in the tomb where the blind one lies, in the place that houses 6 ravens." Elijah said.
"The tower of London." Klaus answered.
"Precisely! Beneath the tower, there is several crypts, I'm assuming there is a monk buried in one of them and he will have the weapon."
"I've arranged to have the Bennett witch flown out here in a few days once we're ready; she's going to help us spell the weapon, kill the demon king and bind Elena's blood to the talisman." Klaus explained.
"Bonnie's coming?" Elena spoke excitedly, Klaus nodded his head. "I can't wait too see her."
"We have 5 days to prepare; in the meantime, use your spare to time to enjoy yourselves, relax and build your strength, we're all going to need it," Elijah spoke to his entire family, "We retrieve the weapon tonight."
"If the demon king is here then we can assume he has a small army of warlocks with him, be careful."
The plan was set, as much as Elena wanted to think about there mission tonight, she was too excited to see Bonnie, it had been weeks without even a phone call. She was slightly worried at what her best friend may say to her; she missed her life and didn't want to be reminded of it.
"Klaus," She walked away from the group and approached him, Elijah's eyes following her every movement, "Thank you for flying Bonnie out here, it means a lot."
"Well, anything to see you happy, dear Elena," He shot a smirk at her but not his usual type amused smirk, more of 'I'm eager to please' type smirk, "She needs to spell the weapon anyway at least this way you can have a girls night with her."
She chuckled slightly at his sarcastic words; that little pang in her heart returning.

The night had arrived, they had all spent the day in the penthouse, preparing and going over the plan repeatedly; there was also some drinking between the original vampires and a lot of laughing at the suspense of the demon king and his warlocks. They where being too cocky, alcohol seems to do that to them but by the time the evening came, they where all ready and as clear minded as ever.
They didn't use transportation, a car wasn't stealthy enough, they used there speed, Elijah using his to carry Elena and get them to the tower quicker; it was dark and not a soul in sight, only the guards.
"The guards drink vervain," Kol stated, as they stood a fair distance away from them, watching them carefully, "We may need to just knock them out."
Elena hated how amused he was about that, she cocked her head to one side, "They know about vampires?"
"Of course. I'll handle it," With that, Rebekah had disappeared and reappeared behind them within a second, they didn't know what hit them; she attacked, them both falling to the ground.
Elena watched as she moved the two bodies out of the public eye, placing them both behind some bushes located in small park opposite to the tower.
"Let's go." Stated Niklaus.
They approached the tower, Elijah breaking the chains that kept it locked and they all entered; the tower had become a tourist attraction, for many years people had visited, not fully understanding the true history to it. Supernatural creatures were kept at the very depths of the tower, they where all tortured and killed for any information they would give regarding there nature. Hardly any succumbed.
"We'll take the stairs, there should a locked door at the very end, that's where the tour ends; beyond that, I'm unsure where it may lead us." Elijah said, before they all continued down the long, stone stairs. Elena was nervous; it was dark and very silent, she knew she had protection around her but anything could happen.
When they came to the door, Niklaus landed his foot onto the centre of the door, using all his strength to break the lock and open it, it flew back and bounced of the wall, the wood splitting in various places.
A long corridor was revealed; the walls where made of stone, there where no lights and only one door at the very end, they all took a quick glance at one another and continued to walk through, Elijah stuck by Elena's side and Klaus lead them forward, Rebekah and Kol remaining behind them all. Klaus had once again, broke this door down too, revealing a room that contained about twenty crypts, Elena didn't have the time to count them all properly.
"So, which one is it?" Elena whispered.
"Spread out, look for any crypt that mentions a blind monk." Klaus shrugged his shoulders and they all split up, investigating each and every crypt.
The underground room was large, the wall made entirely of stone; there a few dimly lit lanterns and a lot of cobwebs and insects scurrying about, Elena was creeped out to say the least. She tried to just forget about it all and turned to face Elijah, he was hovering near her, watching her closely, the whole situation made him uneasy.
"Found it," Kol called out, they all looked at each other and raced towards him, anything to be out of this room, "This crypt mentions a blind monk."
"For though he cannot see, he saw all." Elena read the engraving aloud, a small shudder creeping down her spine, "What now?"
Suddenly, she felt herself being hurled in the air, her back hitting the stone wall with force, the pain radiating across her entire back and she hit the floor with a thud, she looked around as best as she could, seeing all the original vampires had been attacked too, they didn't remain on the floor for long though.
Klaus and Elijah had simultaneously sped towards her, both of the grabbing an arm each and lifting her from the ground, Elijah the first to speak,"Elena, are you okay?"
Her mind was a little fuzzy and she was dizzy, it took her a minute to shake it off and respond, "I'll be fine, who was that?"
"Show yourself!" Klaus called out, he looked at Elena, his facial expressions consumed with rage; he released her arm and moved towards the centre of the room.
The room began to fill with dust and smoke as 4 warlocks appeared in the doorway, Elena was coughing, struggling to find air; the original vampires couldn't see properly but Elijah remained by her side.
"Thank you for revealing the location of the weapon to us," One of the warlocks spoke before joining hands with his fellow warlocks, they started chanting in the language that they where not familiar with, Elena's heart racing at this point.
"Enough of this," Niklaus extended his fangs and sped towards them, plunging his teeth into the neck of the warlock that stood centred between them, he savagely tore through his throat until his body went limp and dropped to the ground.
In the meantime, Kol and Rebekah had been working on opening the crypt but they had had enough of doing it the proper way; using there strength, they had smashed through the entrance, the stone laying in bricks on the floor, Niklaus was distracting the warlocks as they entered, ripping through the coffin that lay within.
The warlocks were enraged; they had performed a spell on Niklaus that made him unable to breath, he fell to his knees, gripping his throat in attempt to find air, Elijah had to leave Elena's side briefly to attack the warlock performing the spell, he snapped his neck and the body fell to the floor.
"Kol and Rebekah joined there siblings, weapon in hand; the two warlocks extended there arms out in front of them, there eyes closed, they didn't chant a word but the magic still came flooding from them, the original vampires could not move, they tried with all there strength but they couldn't budge; they watched as the warlocks stepped around them and approached Elena, he raised his arm to head level and closed his fist, she fell into the arms of the warlock and he carried her away.
"Elena!" Elijah yelled.
"Let her go!" Niklaus also yelled towards them.
Leaving only one more warlock present; he approached Kol, his fingers wrapping around his neck, he gripped harder and harder, a blue light emerging from his hands until Kol closed his eyes.
His siblings still unable to move where watching, fear rising as they watched his brother; when his eyes opened once more, they had turned blue and he stepped away from his family and stood behind the warlock.
"Kol!" Niklaus yelled, "Don't let them do this to you."
"You're brother is no longer bound to you." The warlock responded.
"Nik, he has the half of the weapon," Rebekah spoke frantically.
"I will kill you all for this," Nik was enraged, he was consumed by it, "If you do not return Elena and my brother, I will hunt you all down and hurt you in every way imaginable."
The warlock didn't respond, he only left and Kol had followed, leaving just Klaus, Elijah and Rebekah; the spell had broke when the warlock vanished, they sped out of the crypt and out of the tower, they searched frantically for Elena and Kol but they where no-where to be seen.
Elijah was out of his mind with worry and regret; he let Elena be taken, with all his strength and years of fighting, he couldn't prevent this.
He didn't know what he would do if any harm befell her.
