Mystic Falls
Elena was beside herself with worry; Elijah had not long left for New Orleans and her mind would not stop racing, her thoughts mainly consisting of what could go wrong whilst he was there.
She had been talked into spending the day shopping with the girls, the last thing she could possibly want to be doing at that current time. Caroline had joined them and they all went to grab a bite for breakfast. The whole time she was just on edge, holding onto her phone and hoping for his call.
"Where shall we go first then? Rebekah spoke up as she sipped at her coffee, somewhat relieved that it wasn't decaf.
"I say we hit the mall, grab some fabulous outfits and shoes to match then maybe the movies?" Caroline suggested, she looked over to Elena who was engrossed in her phone, "what do you think, Elena?"
"Huh?" she snapped her head up from her phone and landed her gaze on Caroline, "yeah, thats sound great."
"You've barely touched your breakfast," a concerned Bonnie spoke, "you have to eat something."
Elena looked down to her plate, she had only managed a piece of toast so far, she felt guilty, "I know, my stomach is just in knots, Im sorry for bumming you all out, i'll grab a bagel when we're at the mall."
She forced a smile and placed her phone back in her bag, turning her full attention to her friends.
"Lets go the then," Caroline spoke excitedly before jumping from her chair, pulling Bonnie up with her, "I can't remember the last time we all went shopping together."
"I know," Bonnie matched her excitement, they went hand-in-hand walking down the street, Elena and Rebekah following behind.

It wasn't long before they arrived, Elena had ate the bagel she promised she would, she did feel more energetic once she got something in her stomach and Elijah had messaged her shortly after so a wave of relief washed over her.
Caroline had dragged them to first store she saw, she was rummaging the clothes rack, picking anything and everything up.
Elena had noticed a section in the back that had brought her some excitement; a children's selection, she walked towards it and saw all the baby clothes, she picked a small pair of pink fluffy slippers up and just stared at them.
Rebekah wasn't far behind her, she wrapped her arm around Elenas shoulders, "they are the cutest thing I've ever seen."
"I actually hadn't put much thought into shopping for the baby yet," Guilt washed over her once again, "she hasn't even got a crib, or diapers or clothes or anything else."
"We've got time," Rebekah reassured, "don't panic, I have Niks credit card, she'll have everything she needs and then some."
They both laughed, the first time since she had since Elijah left, "as much as I would love to spend Klaus' money, I really want Elijah to do this with me, I'm going to wait for him to come back first."
"I understand," there was a brief pause between them, Elena once again saddened by his absence.
Her phone suddenly began ringing, she instantly smiled and pulled her phone from her bag, reading Elijah's name on the caller ID,
"It's him, I'll be back soon, i'm going to take this outside," she immediately ran out of the store and sat on one of the benches opposite and answered.
Back in the store, Rebekah was keeping a close eye on her, pretending to rummage through the clothes rack whilst Caroline and Bonnie where trying a few things on.
A few minutes later, she saw Elena hang up the phone, her face riddled with sadness, she couldn't help but feel bad for her, she couldn't imagine what she was going through; her gaze was interrupted by a man bumping into her and knocking her sideways.
"Hey! Watch where you are going, idiot," she spat, before he rushed off, not even able to catch a glimpse of him, he had his hood up and face down, she just rolled her eyes and turned back to face Elena.
She expected to see her sitting on the bench but she wasn't in sight.
Rebekah's heart sank into her stomach; she used her speed to exit the store, her eyes flickering across the surrounding area, there where crowds everywhere but no Elena.
"Oh my god," panic began to kick in as once again, she used her speed to enter the store and head straight into the changing rooms to find the others, "is Elena in here?"
"No?" Bonnie looked at her with utter confusion, "we thought she was with you?"
"Isn't she?" Caroline asked, her voice full of dread.
"She was," she threw her hand onto her forehead, she felt so stupid, "but Elijah had called her so she stepped outside to talk to him, I was watching her the whole time until a shady looking guy bumped into me and I looked away."
"Rebekah!" Caroline yelled, probably louder than she should have considering all the other shoppers turned to look at her.
"They must have took her," Bonnie immediately began gathering her stuff together, her heart full of panic, "we have to go now."
All three of them had scoured the entire mall and she was nowhere to be found; Caroline had already rang Stefan and Damon in order to have them search for her too.
"She could be anywhere," Rebekah placed her head into her hands, how could she possibly tell Elijah that she had lost his wife? "can you do a locater spell, Bonnie?"
"We'll have to head back to the mansion and pray that no-one is hiding her with magic."
-w-
It didn't take them long to all meet at the mansion, Damon and Stefan included; Bonnie had began setting up the candles and the map and spreading them out across the table; Caroline had grabbed an item that belonged to Elena, the first thing she could grab was a t-shirt.
"I can't believe you lost her," Damon spat towards Rebekah, "you had one job, blondie, don't lose Elena and you couldn't even manage that."
"Don't start, Damon," Stefan interjected before a full blown fight ensued, he could see Rebekah felt guilty enough, "it could have happened to any one of us, we'll find her."
Damon glared his eyes towards Rebekah, hers where filled with sorrow, "we better,"
"That's enough, I'm ready to do the spell."
Bonnie began chanting, her eyes closed and her voice low; she had raised her hands and the candles lit, sparks flying from each of them, her chanting became louder and she moved her hands so they hovering over the map.
"Somethings wrong," she spoke, wincing slightly, "I can't find her exact location."
She continued to chant, her voice become louder and firmer; her unwillingness to give up eventually caused a spark from one of the flames to land on the map, a small hole burning into it. The candles all extinguished and Bonnie lowered her arms.
They all looked onto the map, there facial expressions riddled with confusion, Damon spoke first, "how can she be there?"
"Why would she be there?" Caroline countered.
"How long has she been gone?" Stefan asked.
"Nearly 2 hours," Rebekah responded, she too looked at the map, "Alabama?l"
"I get it," Damon turned the map to face him, his eyes inspecting the surrounding areas, "look wheres next to it."
"Louisiana.." Bonnie paused, "thats why I had trouble with the spell, she was on a plane and it couldn't pinpoint her exact location."
"I looked online and it's only a 2 hour flight from here," Caroline kept typing away on her phone, "and if they had a private jet, then this is definitely plausible."
"This must have been Marcel's doing," Rebekah's panic and guilt had suddenly turned to anger, "they've taken her to New Orleans."
"You better call Elijah, let him know," Bonnie suggested, "he's not going to be happy."
"I'm on it," Rebekah hastily took her phone from her pocket and began dialling.
"I've booked flights," Caroline announced, "we leave in a few hours, go pack some things."
Damon and Stefan both nodded there heads in agreement before swiftly exiting the mansion and returning to the boarding house.
"There's no answer on either of my brothers cells, I've left messages but we'll just have to keep trying." Rebekah spoke.
"We're gonna head home and pack some things," Bonnie spoke as she grabbed her jacket from the sofa, Caroline too, "meet us at the airport in 2 hours, we'll try calling them too."
"Everything is gonna be okay, we'll find her," Caroline tried to raise everyones spirits.
"And if we don't, my brothers will," Rebekah turned serious, the rage apparent in her voice, "and there will be hell to pay."
