Elena had been knocked unconscious; her head was throbbing and her whole body was aching. As she started to regain some consciousness, she struggled to peel her eyes open, her eyelids blinking several times as light hit her pupils.

In a daze, she weakly pulled herself up, her hand massaging her head; it took a few long moments but she realised she had no idea where she was, she looked around and saw that she was in a bedroom, it was small and only had a bed, a bedside table and chest of drawers.

Her hand instantly went to her stomach, panic rising at the thought of her unborn child being hurt. As the minutes passed, certain images began popping into her head, she remembered talking to Elijah on the phone and then someone hit her on the back of the head; the only thing she could remember was an airport.

"Where am I?" she thought to herself over and over again; she searched for her bag but it was nowhere in sight, she had no phone and no hope. She stood from the bed and began banging on the door, screaming, "let me out, let me out."

This lasted for a long 5 minutes until she heard loud footsteps pounding along a wooden floor just outside; she stepped back from the door before it had flung open, a rather tall and muscly man stormed his way in, stopping but inches away from her.

"Keep it down in here," he demanded, his voice low and intimidating, "you're not going anywhere."

Elena felt her whole body begin to shake, fear taking over her; she just froze, her hand still protecting her bump. She took a few steps backwards, she swallowed a lump in her throat before speaking, "what do you want from me?"

He followed her steps until he was once again he was only a few inches away from her body, "no questions, you'll be collected soon."

He glanced her up and down and curled his lips into a smirk, only signalling to Elena that he knew exactly what was going to happen to her; a sigh of relief escaped her lips after she had watched him turn around and exit the room, unfortunately locking it behind him.

She just broke down, tears streamed down her face as she sat herself back down onto the bed; she was worried about her baby and Elijah, she wanted nothing more than too just be in his arms.

Elijah and Klaus.

Several hours had passed, Elijah was still enraged after the events at the compound; Marcel had lead them to a safe house just outside the city, he had nowhere else to go, they blew up his home and his friends, he dreaded to think what would be next.

"Now that we are here, Marcel, tell me everything," Elijah spoke, his voice cold and distant as he inspected the entire room, looking for anything that may bring him and his brother any harm, "where is your witch?"

"She was in the compound," Marcel spoke, his voice breaking and slight hints of emotion slipping through, "along with the rest of my family."

He was angry and bitter, Elijah could sense it. This only brought him pleasure, seeing and hearing him in pain.

""how you're feeling now is only a fraction of how I felt when you sent someone to murder my wife and unborn child."

"Once again, Marcel, I don't believe you," Klaus approached Marcel, his hands behind his back as he spoke, "I think that once you heard us arriving at the compound and ripping your friends apart, you would have sent her away."

"I didn't know you where coming," the dishonesty was apparent in his voice now, they could hear it, "I was-"

"Stop lying!" Klaus raised his voice, cutting his sentence short, "you clearly care for this witch so when you heard us, your first instinct would be to protect her, tell us where she is or me and my brother are going to kill everyone you know and love."

Marcel was silent for a while, that is until his phone vibrated in his pocket, he looked up to Elijah and Klaus before removing it and checking the message.

He seemed to suddenly gain some confidence, Elijah watched as he stood up onto his feet and approached them, his phone still in hand, "you're right, Klaus, I could never leave someone I care about so much behind, anything could happen to her, she could have died, I would never do that."

He held his phone out towards Elijah; his eyes glanced over to Klaus and back towards the phone, he hesitantly took it; he pressed the unlock button at the side and when it lit up, his heart shattered, rage becoming him once more.

"I will kill you for this, Marcel," he looked at the picture once again, Elena was knocked out and somewhere unfamiliar to him, "I promise you, if any harm has come to her, you will die a slow and painful death."

"Ah-ah, I wouldn't do that if I was you," his voice suddenly cocky, "if anything happens to me, there a small army of vampires and witches waiting to kill her."

"When I find her and I will, this whole city will burn," Elijah was overcome with anger, guilt and fear, he shouldn't have left her behind.

"I had this whole thing planned the second my vampire failed; I knew you would find out it was me eventually and try to come and kill me, I needed a back-up plan."

"What do you want?" Klaus eventually spoke up, he wasn't happy in the slightest about this turn of events but he too was worried about Elena, he couldn't allow anything to happen to her, life wouldn't be the same.

"I think we can come to some kind of arrangement," Marcel paced back and forth as he rattled his brain, he knew they wouldn't just leave and never come back, not without Elena and he couldn't let her go with the baby, "I'll take you both straight to her as long as you agree to see my witches and hear what they have to say, when you hear what I know, you must agree for Elena to stay here until she has given birth and then you can all leave without the baby."

"You're insane," Elijah actually laughed at absurdity of it, "I would never leave my child with you."

"Think it over, brother," Klaus looked at Elijah and nodded his head, he was furious at his words; Klaus turned his attention back to Marcel, "The witches could be wrong, they haven't met Elena and they certainly don't know anything about the baby she is carrying, if you agree to let us all go and leave us be in the future if it is found that your witch is wrong, then we agree to your terms."

Elijah thought for a long moment before reluctantly nodding his head in agreement; at the very least, this plan would reunite him with Elena.

Marcel smirked, "deal!"

Elijah had a bad feeling about this but as much as he tried to think of anything else that could be done, he was drawing a blank, he needed Elena back; in that moment, he swore to himself that he would never leave her alone again.

"Take me to my wife, now," he demanded.

"She's in a motel off the highway, I'll text you the details," Marcel obliged, "there are plenty of vampires and witches there to ensure you don't try and run the second you have her. We'll meet tonight at the cemetery, 11 o'clock, don't be late."

Within seconds, they had sped off like a blur out of the safe house and away from the immediate area; Elijah just stopped and unearthed the loudest scream Klaus had ever heard from him.

"I can't believe this happened," his voice was lowering but it was harsh and drawn out, "she wanted to come with me, she knew this would happen and I didn't listen, now she's in danger and it's all my doing."

"She does have an annoying tendency to be always be right," Klaus tried to lighten the mood, completely failing. He sighed deeply before placing his hand on Elijah's shoulder, "we will get her back, brother, no harm will come to her and they we kill everybody."

Silence fell for a few minutes until Elijah's phone vibrated; he took it from his pocket, not only had he received a text from Marcel with the exact location of Elena's whereabouts, there was a many missed calls and texts from Bonnie, Caroline, Rebekah and the Salvatore's.

"I have Elena's location," he put his phone back in his pocket, "call Rebekah, they're all here in New Orleans, update them and catch up with me, I have to go now."

Elijah blurred off into the distance within seconds, his mind racing with just finally knowing Elena was safe in his arms; his entire existence, he had never felt such fear and pain, he only hoped she was alive.
