Further Preparations

Eric smiled lightly in relief as he looked around his dorm room. He had finally managed to clean up his room enough that it could be considered acceptable for his romantic encounter due on Saturday. He still had other things on his mind that he needed to consider, things that were a little concerning. So he decided he needed to check things out and pulled himself up from his bed, that sheet had indeed been born grey, just a lighter shade of grey compared to how it looked before being washed, before heading out into the common room that connected all the bedrooms on this dorm.

Sitting on the sofa, watching the TV together, was Nancy and Jonathan. Eric knew this was his chance to try and figure out how things would go on the night, he needed to know exactly what his roommates would be doing on Saturday, so he could find out if he would truly be alone at the time, otherwise things could get awkward. Approaching them he smiled and greeted them.

"Hey guys, how's it going?"

Both looking up they smiled and Nancy spoke up.

"Hi Eric, what's up?"

Eric shrugged, trying to be nonchalant. "Not much, just wondering, you guys got any plans this weekend?"

Jonathan smiled at that. "Funny you should ask, Nancy and I were just talking about that."

"Oh?" He tried to act calm, but inside he was hoping.

The last thing he wanted was for the others to be present to hear him and Jess, especially as he'd have to sneak her past the guard down in the lobby which would already be tricky.

As he waited for Nancy and Jonathan to answer, the door to the dorm opened and he turned to notice Robin entering.

"Hey." She greeted casually.

"Hi Robin." Nancy replied. "Oh, sorry, Eric. As I said, Jonathan and I were planning to make a weekend visit home."

"Oh, um...okay?" Eric remarked, surprised.

Jonathan nodded. "Yeah, tomorrow after our tests, we're gonna go home, I'll be going to see mom and Will and we'll be staying over the weekend, spend some time with family."

"Same here." Nancy confirmed. "I'll be going to see my parents and siblings and staying for the weekend."

Eric smiled at that, it was the best he could hope, in fact it helped him perfectly. He now knew, with certainty, that Nancy and Jonathan wouldn't be here on Saturday night. Of course, that wasn't all, he still had to figure out if Steve and Robin would be present, so he had to take the chance while Robin was here, hopefully he could at least figure out what her plans were.

"So, you guys talking about your weekend plans huh?" Robin asked as she joined them, sitting on the other sofa. "You guys are still visiting your families?"

Nancy and Jonathan both nodded and Robin glanced at Eric.

"What about you, dude?"

Eric fought not to give anything away. "Oh, I'll be staying here, I've got stuff I need to catch up on."

"Huh, fair enough, you'll be stuck by yourself though. Steve and I have work, we got stuck pulling the late shift at Scoops Ahoy on Saturday." Robin explained.

Eric nodded at that. He was privately relieved, it seemed he'd have the dorm all to himself on Saturday.

Sitting in her room at home, Jessica smiled lightly as she considered for a moment.

"Hmmm, what do you think, the black one or the green one?" She asked at last.

As she said this she looked over at her older sister, Phoebe who lay on Jessica's bed, currently reading a magazine. Phoebe was older by about two years with shoulder length curly hair, the same colour as Jess', those true blue eyes Jess had only just missed on out and while Jess was somewhat annoyed by her sister's presence, knowing full well the pressures it put on the family, she knew that Phoebe had accumulated a lot of top of line clothes, perfect for her upcoming Saturday night.

Phoebe looked up. "Hmmm?"

She examined the top designer sweaters that Jessica was holding up. Jess rolled her eyes, knowing full well Phoebe's mind was elsewhere, no doubt her latest transfer attempt. She always said she hated it at her college and was trying to transfer to other ones.

'Of course if she stopped wasting time doing that and focusing on pulling up her grades she's have the means to transfer.' Jessica thought to herself.

Finally Phoebe spoke. "Green is cuter, black is sexier."

Jessica smirked at that. "Black it is."

She knew that it would be tighter on her due to her being more developed than her sister, but that would work even better.

Something else that would work, she realized, was that Phoebe was taller and had longer legs, so on her it would look even shorter.

"Do you still have that little dark red pleated skirt?" She asked.

This time Phoebe actually got up from the bed and began looking around for it for her.

"It's here somewhere." She explained. "Oh, it's dry clean only by the way, so please, please don't mess that up."

Jessica laughed. "Yes ma'am."

With that she looked around, trying to spot it too. That skirt would be the final part of her outfit, she had already got everything she needed and now she could finally finish the clothes she would be wearing on Saturday night.

This left her mind to wander to her lingering worries. 'I still can't get that worry out of my head. About Jane Hopper, she might still try to...she needs to understand that Eric and I are real.'

"Here it is."

She smiled at Phoebe and accepted the skirt, putting it with the rest of the clothes, smiling wider.

"Perfect, this'll be perfect for Saturday." She remarked. "Thanks Phoebe."

Her sister just gave her a knowing smirk and went back to her magazine, almost making Jess laugh at the obvious message.

However even then she was still concerned. 'I have to resolve this, to make sure she finally gets the message. It's...kinda strange but, it might work. Yeah, there's only one thing for it. I've got to make sure Jane finally realizes that Eric and I are real and finally backs down.'
