"Oh goddamnit Browine I thought we finaly fixed the stupid climite control."

"Well evidently your fancy flying broke it again."

"My flying has nothing to do with it going out again." I said as we climbed out of our Tomcat and into the hanger.

"Sure it dont." Brownie said with an eye roll while tossing her helmet at me.

"Whatever, I'm just glad that's the last one."

"Ain't that the truth."

For the past few days we had been flying back and forth from the coast of Erusea to Zapland escorting C-130s and a C-17 to pack up the base. Apparently Ocsea decided we had done such a good job we were getting pardons, and are getting assigned to actual units.

"See guys I told yall things were gonna change." I heard Tabloid say as he climbed out of his fighter across the hanger.

"Yeah, tell that to the guards as far as they are concerned we're still prisoners."

"They are just mad they couldn't find yall's stashes of money."

"I told you a hundred times Tabloid under the mattress is too obvious."

"Well that's not the point whether or not the change is good or not doesn't matter right now we're finally getting off this rock."

"Sucks there, splitting us up though."

"Yeah well I don't feel too bad about Tyler Island after all you guys and Count are stuck with his royal pain in the ass."

"Yeah, I'd rather take an Arsenal bird on again." I said with a huff.

"Now come on Trigger that's pushing it a little isnt it, we barely survived last time and we both were flying."

"That's fair but that's enough talking for now since this is the last time we'll be seeing you Tabloid let's celebrate."

"Celebrate what." Tabloid asked looking confused.

"The last time seeing each other till the end of the war cuz if you don't make it Tabloid I'll find your ghost and drag you back to the land of the living."

Chuckling and with a smile he replied "If any one could it would be you and you two better make it out alive as well."

"You got it now, come on, let's get some food and party." Brownie said while jumping off the crate she'd been sitting on.

OPERATION-FULLHOUSE

"Alright Count we are on the final stretch, how's your scope looking?"

"Same as before Trigger empty." Count replied with and even though I couldn't see it I'm sure an eye roll.

"Yeah I figured Brownie just reported the same on ours."

"What's got you so on edge we've been deeper in enemy territory before and came out fine?"

"Yeah maybe but those other time we had more planes and weren't escorting that flying target." I replied, referencing the C-17 that looked like it was taking a casual flight instead of flying through enemy territory.

"I guess we'll have to pull something out of our asses then won't we?"

"You mean yo- Shit missile lock going evasive." I started only to get cut off as a SAM site locked on to us. Swapping back to the mission frequency I asked. "Bandog Spare 15 here I just got locked by a SAM site any Idea on where it came from?"

"Affirmative Spare 15 sending data now it looks like we flew right into an air defence site. I'm getting active radar signatures everywhere."

As soon as Brownie acknowledged that the data was uploaded I looked at my radar and almost had a stroke as I saw all the sites pop up. "Damn they didn't hold anything back did they?"

"Hell of a welcoming party Spare 15, Spare 2 Your job is to protect Roper 1 at all cost, now get to it."

"Copy that Bandog, Count your loaded with mostly air to air right?"

"Yeah I'm loaded with R-27s."

"Alright we've got GPBs on our racks so you take anything that flies to close and we'll handle the ground targets."

"Wait what air targets though my scopes are clear of any."

"For now maybe but those SAM sites had to have raised the alarm so interceptors will be here soon." As I finished talking I put my Tomcat into a shallow dive heading for the first SAM site, and flipped over to the intercom. "Alright Brownie it's game time just like the Roca Roja or Yinshi."

With a snort she replied "Whatever you say boss man GPBs are armed and locked on the first target."

"Got it as soon as the first bomb is off lock on to the radar sight to the east I have an idea."

"Affirm and locked, so are you going to tell me what your plan is?"

"Sure why not, without their radar trucks this cluster and fire at long ranges."

"Leaving them to focus on us instead of Count and the cargo plane."

"Bingo now let's dance shall we." I said as I dropped the GPB on the radar site and pulled into a wide arc.

True to what I had said at the beginning fighters showed up soon after, they mostly consisted of Gripens and a few Mig-31 that Count handled well except one wave he asked help on since he had some trouble keeping up with the Foxhounds. The SAM sites were the same story, it really was like Roca climb, dive, fire, repeat and Count even got some of the few sites I missed.

"Fox two Fox two." I called out as the last Foxhound fell out of the sky.

"You know Trigger, that was pretty easy compared to what I thought it would be." Count said as We both formed back up on Roper 1 who I had tuned out after the first three times Mckinsey yelled out about flares.

"You just had to say something Spare 2 didnt you. Unknown hostile approaching from the front." No sooner had Bandog finished his sentence did a strange looking craft zip past us and pull up into a sharp climb and dive back down in a maneuver I could have sworn I saw somewhere before. "Shit Spare 2 cover Roper 1 Spare 15 take that thing out."

"'Copy that Bandog, good luck Count." I replied as Count took my spot by Roper 1, swaping to the intercom once again I said. "Brownie dump the last GPB we need all the maneuverability we can get, look at it go."

"Aye boss dumping it now, and arming missiles now."

"Copy lets do it." The Unknown was really something else for every move we made. It reacted perfectly and the biggest surprise came when I finally had a clean shot on a head on when it shot the missile down with its guns.

"Goddamnit Brownie we're getting nowhere and that last spray of gunfire from it hit our right aileron."

"Yeah I know but I think I figured out a pattern to its movements."

With a grunt I pulled out of the way of another missle it sent at us and replied. "Well I'm all ears."

"Whenever you fire a missile it pulls a sharp 90 turn to the right, never the left or up. So lob a missle and fucking tag it with the guns."

"Hell yeah I like this plan, let's show it why they call me Trigger." once we got in behind it there was no problem getting a lock and just like Brownie said it went left right into a hail of gunfire that finally put it down."

"Holy shit Trigger I was getting grey hairs just watching that." Came Count over the radio as the Unknown fell to the mountainside below.

"I hate to burst your bubble but I've got four more aircraft on the scope."

"OH COME ON." I heard come from my backseat along with an audible thud from her helmet hitting my seat.

"Wait, those are friendly's."

"Well is that a guard dog I hear barking?"

"Oh thank god it's good to hear you Wiseman."

"It's been a while Trigger why dont yall follow us to base and we'll talk more on the ground."

As the C-17 slowly made its way toward the runway I couldn't wait to land even blocking out what Wiseman and Mckinsey were talking about. If it was important I'd find out on the ground.
