Growing Concerns
Seated in his office, Brenner smiled lightly as he read the report. Things were going perfectly so far, Eleven was exceeding his expectations, although he had to admit, he was slightly concerned with how she had handled the second task.
'That boy should not have been there, she is supposed to follow orders and just do as she is told, not seek help, or...This could be problematic.' He mused worriedly.
"Dr. Brenner, sir." He looked up to see Connie standing before him. "Our agent is in position in the park. Following her success at the Russian house, she will soon make contact and will be ready to begin the third task...She is making remarkable progress, very quickly too."
Brenner nodded and sighed. "Perhaps a little too quickly, hopefully we'll find some means for a delay. We need to put the pressure on her, that is when she works her best...although…"
Connie tilted her head, confused. Brenner shook his head however, dismissing the concern.
"It's nothing. Is Rochelle ready?"
He got his answer when the door opened again and Rochelle entered, dressed up and ready.
"Yes sir, I am prepared. You need me to set things up for the fourth task?" She remarked.
Brenner nodded in confirmation. "Yes, you are to use your usual talents to ensure that the necessary target for task four is in place at the right time."
Rochelle nodded. "Yes sir, I'll go right away."
Brenner nodded, things were finally building up, it wouldn't be long now, Eleven would be back where she belonged and his plans would finally come to fruition.

Standing in the woods, Hopper sighed heavily as he looked around the scene. He was in a clearing in the woods, the very one that El had told him about that night, where she had confronted the monster and Troy. Ever since Troy had handed himself in, he had backed up James' accounts and now the gang was frankly dismantled, its members arrested, only their leader, Shane, was still at large.
'But it looks like the monster survived somehow, it's not here, not even any evidence that it faded away or disintegrated.' He thought worriedly.
He knelt down by the wrecked tree, the one that El had dropped on it. As well as the other evidence at the scene.
'It played possum until El was gone...then it broke free. Looks like it also decided to use this place a dumping ground.' He continued to muse.
For the most prominent thing at the scene, was the dead bodies of two of the missing hikers. Hopper grimaced, looking over the bodies, their deaths had certainly been violent and anything but quick.
He straightened up, there was only one option. 'I hate to put El in danger, but at this rate...gonna need to ask El for help. Need to put a stop to this before it causes more danger.'
For now however, he knew there wasn't much more he could do, so, after doing final checks on the scene and getting some final orders set, he left and began making his way back to the station.

Meanwhile, meeting up for lunch, Lucas smiled lightly as he and Dustin met up with Will at the cafeteria.
"Hey guys, what's up?" Will greeted them warmly, smiling.
Dustin shrugged. "Not much, ever since we spoke to El and learned what happened...things have been oddly normal here."
Lucas however noted something worrying. "Yeah...normal except, have any of you seen Mike or El since then?"
"Now that you mention it…" Will realized in horror.
It was then Max arrived and overheard them. "Yeah, they're not here, I noticed too. I think they've actually left school."
"What, but that's crazy!?" Dustin gasped.
"Think about it." Max insisted. "El is desperate to save this Eric guy, she's on a time limit. Mike must've gone with her."
They all shared worried looks at that, what Max said made sense. But they couldn't help but wonder, would the two of them really skip school over this. It certainly would make things problematic for them when things finally got out.
"Hmmm, this is...What are we gonna do?" Dustin asked.
Will shook his head. "I don't know."
Lucas could see on Max's face that she didn't know either. She locked gazes with him and just looked lost, as if hoping he had an answer, but he didn't. But once again, he found himself thinking about other things, like how shiny her hair looked, her beauty, those eyes.
He quickly caught himself. 'Urgh, get a grip dude. Never mind you haven't practically zero chance with her, there's more important things to worry about right now.'
What he didn't know was that Max had been doing the same thing with him, checking him out and then chastising herself when she caught herself doing so.
End of chapter, hope you enjoyed it, read and review please.
