The judges' eyes never left her.
Why is she doing this?
She knows I am not a witch.

The judges' eyes took a glance at me.

All eyes are on me.
&here I stand.
Before the judges.
Before my old-friends.
Before my family.
&my God.
"I am not a witch."
All these doubtful looks.
More screams from the girl.
A judge's glare.

The girl gasps for breath.
"Tomorrow at dawn."
I cast my eyes downward.
Tomorrow I may die.

The sky is still black.
It is not far from dawn.
I glance around my cell.

A girl's scream is heard.
A man's voice is soon heard.

The rope is quickly grabbed.
My death is soon.

Maybe it is better that I die.
Innocent or not.
The silence of another dead body is heard.
