Ending
The four beings stood on the rooftops; the Los Angeles skyline stretched out before them. Everything looked strange in the day time, like it was a bit more realistic and grungier compared to the nightlife. Cars honked their displeasure as they were stuck in traffic, and Hope found herself wondering if this is where Mr. Crowley got his inspiration for the interstate.
"Well," Hope said with a sigh, "I guess I'll be going."
"Safe flight to you." Amenadiel bid. She bowed her head to show her thanks.
"Man, I wish I knew where you were going. Maybe there'll be some cute boys."
"There are a lot of boys here, Maz."
"But none of them can handle me."
Hope laughed, feeling a little better as she adjusted the ancient shield on her back and made sure that the Heavenly sword was strapped securely on her hips. Her eyes went to Lucifer. "Looks like we'll both be living to see another day."
"Yes, it does indeed. When Gabriel shows his face next time, kick his ass for me."
"I definitely will give him one from you. After I have my turn at him."
The Demon gave her a soft smile, something that Hope figured he didn't give often. "You are one a million, pigeon."
Hope sighed. "I know. Unfortunately, it doesn't give me any advantages."
Her eyes gazed out to the skyline, where the sun would leave the world at the end of the day and plunge the city into darkness. There was a deep heaviness that settled in her stomach, a sense of foreboding and warning that something big, bigger than she had seen, was on the horizon.
"Something's coming. You can feel it, can't you?"
Hope's eyes went to Amenadiel, his dark gaze focused on her intensely. The two held each other's gaze, the world around them almost falling away completely. The question finally processed, and Hope nodded in agreement.
"Yes. I can."
"You and your guardians will need to be prepared. When the storm hits, Heaven and Hell will break loose. And you'll need to be ready."
Hope nodded, solemnly. "I will be. I promise."
"Then, I bid you good luck and good day."
The three of them watched as Amenadiel bowed before he spread his wings and took to the sky. Lucifer rolled his eyes.
"What a drama queen.' He muttered.
Hope chuckled. "You're one to talk."
"Oh damn," Maz whispered, cackling to herself.
Again, Lucifer rolled his eyes. He sobered up and laid his hand out for her. "Good luck out there, Hope. Tell that snake Crawly I see him in Hell."
Hope nodded, smirking slightly as she took it. "Will do."
Her eyes went to the sky, her wings appearing and spreading out in full span. The wind blew, and something with it changed. Whatever it was, Hope knew that sooner or later she would find out what it was.
She took off into the air, waving at the two demons before taking off towards the horizon.
