Lunch
It has now been roughly a week and already I've made a couple of friends. I'm also happy to say that my incursion with Hina and that lower class twit Kyo has been resolved. I've yet to see or hear from them. Guess the school really does take these sorts of stuff seriously. Well, classes have been quite busy so I haven't had much time to write in you, dear journal. What to say, what to say,
Hmm.
I guess I should go over a little recap.
For this school year, here is my class schedule:
On Mondays to Fridays I have the following classes at the following times:
0800 - 0845 Homeroom
0900 - 0945 Chemistry
1000 - 1045 Calculus
1100 - 1145 Mechanical Engineering
1200 - 1245 P.E
1400 - 1445 Japan History
1500 - 1545 World History
1600 - 1645 Literature
1700 - 1745 Stock Trading
Yes. I have a really busy schedule. Sure, each class only lasts for 45 minutes when typically you would expect them to last for 50 minutes, but as there's so many of them, it more than makes up for it. Sheesh! Instead of getting out at 1600, our Highschool ends at 1800. I wonder what sort of deals the Headmaster had to enact to allow this to happen.
They're literally killing us with this workload!
Why?!
Why?! Why why why why-#45^^.#rdsf

My notepad just crashed. I must've been working too hard on it. I guess I'm just really stressed, what with all the pressure, but that's typical and there has to be a benefit to this all somehow. Well, on the brightside, they're having me learn to do Stock trading, so maybe I won't have to work at 9 to 5 as the Westerners would call it. And besides. This can only toughen me up, so it won't be all that bad. It's just an additional 105 more minutes of class time than your typical Highschool.
Ah.
I feel it.
"Hey dad. I'm going to the Downtown shop to grab a bite."
"Oh. Okay. Just be sure to be back by sunset."
"Take care."
"Love you honey."

Ah, delicious. This Gyudon really hits the spot. I met a couple of my new friends here. It's a chill place to hang out every once in a while and it's not too costly. I could've just asked my dad to make me one of those, but I thought I'd see a change in scenery. Don't get me wrong, I'm fine eating at home and besides. My dad may be a great cook, but there are just some techniques he's not accustomed.
"Look at that girl. What a pig."
"Excuse me?"
"Didn't your parents teach you to eat moderately?"
"How about you mind your own business."
"And she's rude."
"I don't see yours doing any better. And aren't you an adult?"
"Yes I am so listen to what I have to say."
"How about no."
"What? You don't respect your elders?"
"Adults that I know and trust, yes. I respect those. A complete stranger who insults me- You think that just because I'm Japanese I'm going to listen to someone like you?"
"It's just for your own good. You keep at this you're going to get real fat."
"Uh huh."
"Oh this? This is called my manliness vibe. Check it out."
Gross. I think I'm about to lose my lunch.
"Whatever. I can take care of myself."
"You shitty bitch. I'll teach you to- Aaugh! Stop! Stop! My arm! She's twisting my arm!"
The other customers are looking at me. Am I going too far with this? Oh. A security officer.
"Put your hands up. Both of you."
Ugh. I hope this doesn't go on my record.

It's a good thing that Downtown shop had a security feed. After reviewing the footage it had been determined I had acted in self-defense and that the extent of my action were reasonable, is what I heard. This is a first time for me though, and I'm kind of worried about what my parents will think. Anyways, I'm waiting at the police station right now, thank god they decided they didn't have a case against me but this isn't anything like they taught me. I can only hope mom and dad will still let me hang out. Heh, at least the police officer was kind enough to let me use my tabloid after the debriefing, so who knows how much longer I'll have to wait around.
"Young ma'am?"
"Uh huh?"
"Your parents are here to see you."

"So how was your trip, sweetie?"
"Oh, it was fine."
"And?"
"Well, fine except for that one detail."
"I heard that you were nearly assaulted."
"I- I'm not worried. I- I did what I had to."
"I agree, well, I am your father so of course I would say that, but yeah. You weren't scared?"
"A little."
"Well all that matters is that you're safe."
Dad sounds a bit upset. I can tell something's bothering him, but what?
"Y-you. Um… you're not mad at me, are you?"
"Oh no. Just tired."
"Tired. Gotcha."
He's got that stern look on him again. The last time I've seen him like this was when a gang of unruly teens decided to thrash his wares. I think I'll just keep silent.

"Can you pass me the carrots?"
"Yes father."
"And saute the Renkon while you're at it."
"Is this how you want it?"
"Hm. Not quite. Don't flip it too often. Give it about 5 minutes on each side or until you smell a slight caramelization."
"You can smell that?"
"It takes time. TIme and experience."
"Uh huh."
Well this marks the 22nd time dad's asked me to help with one of his dishes and seeing how upset he was earlier, I obliged.
It would just pain me to see the disappointment in his eyes. I shudder to think what mom would say. Imagine! You got into a fight with a complete stranger, what's wrong with you? I thought I taught you to resolve your issues by talking them out or getting an adult to help. I- I hope I didn't mess up too bad.
