Hi guys. Here's the next chapter. Alex finds out about Amanda's regression and she has a very important appointment. I loved writing Alex's reaction. Hope you guys enjoy.

"This was an absolute cluster fuck," Alex thought as she glanced at the women still in the rocking chair. Olivia had composed herself and the tears on her face had dried but Amanda hadn't moved. She still sat perfectly still in the detective's lap with that same expression, her head buried in the older woman's neck and one of her hands fisted in the material of the brunette's shirt as Liv rocked slowly in the rocking chair trying to keep her calm.

"Liv," Alex whispered. "I'm going to stop this, I swear," the ADA said. "I'm just glad you will be able to go with her," the brunette answered. "I won't leave her side, and if things get to bad I'm coming to get you," she responded.

After a few minutes, the detective felt something tugging on her hoodie and she glanced down to see Amanda calmly chewing on one of the strings and sighed. She was once again regressing.

"Not in your mouth, baby," she said and the blonde's lower lip began to tremble but she calmed when her boss gave her a pacifier.

"Ummm, Liv? What the hell?" The ADA asked, looking at Amanda and Olivia groaned. "She... she regresses," she said and the attorney just gave her a look. "She has been doing this since before her kidnapping," the brunette continued but stopped as she felt a small hand playing with the same string and she knew exactly where it would end up. This had been a common occurrence lately, so much so that the brunette had to be sure none of her sweatshirts she wore had strings. She figured it had to do with feeling close to her. "No, baby, no chewing," she cooed softly offering the pacifier that the blonde had discarded, hoping to get her to understand what she was saying.

Alex just gave them a look before a thoughtful expression crossed her face. "This could actually work in our favor," she said. "How? She will still have to go to court," the brunette responded.

"Not after the state's psychologist sees her with you," she said, motioning to the blonde who had once again, gotten the same string on Olivia's sweatshirt for the 3rd time. "If she does, then there's something wrong with her," the blonde said, refering to the psychologist and Olivia nodded in agreement before turning her attention to Amanda.

"Baby, no, you can't have that" Olivia said calmly, not once raising her voice and alex smiled fondly. On second thought though, she didn't really see why it mattered. Amanda was basicly the mental age of a toddler right now, so she didn't stop her when the string once again found its way into the blonde's mouth.

"You're really good with her," the ADA said and the detective just held her a bit tighter. "I'm the only one she trusts." "She feels safe with me," she said. "We've worked together for a long time, and she's seen me with the victums," she continued and Alex nodded.

"Ummm, how often does she... do that? When did it start? What; how," the attorney started and her sentence trailed off as she was at a loss for words.

The detective sighed, kissing the crown of Amanda's head. "The first time I saw it was when her mother called," the brunette started.

"Her mother abused her," the brunette said as Alex looked at the two. "So did her dad," she said. "Did they... abuse her sexually?" The other blonde asked and the brunette just glanced down where the blonde was still happily playing with that same string. "I don't know, but I wouldn't doubt it," she said. "I got her an appointment with the psychologist tomorrow," Alex said. "Good," Olivia responded. "She doesn't need to have to go through this," she said and Alex just nodded, trying to remain calm.

She was hoping for the best, but she also knew this could once again, end in disaster.

She just prayed she was wrong.
