Missing Students

"This is just in. 8 more students have been reported missing. According to the parents of the missing students, none of them were known to have gotten involved with the local street gangs. It is still unsure why they have gone missing. Police are still investigating. Reporting Live."

Weird. I've read in articles of students from various schools who have gone missing for a varied of reasons. Truancy, delinquency, sometimes actually getting lost, kidnapping- you name it. Still, you would never expect this sort of thing to happen in your own local area. Now, I'm not particularly worried about myself. I can handle myself pretty fine, as for my brother on the other hand…

"P-pepper spray? Whoa-whoah. Hold on. Why are you giving me this? Don't you need to be 21 to purchase these?"

"Hoho, no. Just carry it with you and if anyone asks, just say you're concerned for your safety."

"Heh, now this is truly surprising. Didn't think you had it in you."

"You'll be surprised. Your onee chan has many secrets that even you don't know about."

That should give my younger bro some protection. As for myself, I think I'll make a little phone call.

"Hey girl! How's it going?"

"Not much Yuri. Why don't we take the shuttle together today?"

"That sounds like a great ideal, Aoi."

Being inside the city and lacking a parking lot, which isn't atypical of schools here in Japan, there's more than one way to get to school. Typically I'd catch the bus which is situated 3 blocks down from where I live, a nice brisk jog, about 15 minutes but given the increasing number of missing student reports within my area, well I haven't actually seen any of the local kids and teens gone missing from the area where I live, but just to be sure, it's best to go with company. Now, if I recall correctly, the shuttle to Yabaize arrives at 5:30 AM. I don't like waking up this early but I'd rather be safe. Heh, I bet my younger brother was surprised to see me up this early. Anyhoo, time to go meet up with Yuri.

"Yuri! This way. I'm over here."

"Thanks. I got a pocky. Want one?"

"Nah, I'm trying to cut down on my sugar."

"Cut down on your sugar? Girl, you hardly even eat any sugar, Besides, you look like you're about to pass out. What did you do?"

"It's a long story."

"Hmm? Oh, I get it."

"You do?"

"Yeah, I watch porn too."

"Do you have any ideal how embarrassing it is to-"

"I don't see anything wrong with it."
"Well what if people get the wrong ideal?"

"Then that's on them."

How did she ever figured out my secret? Did my younger brother tell her? He must have. That little brat. When I see him, first thing I'm going to do is give him some after school lessons. I know just the spot, no witnesses.

"So uh, I noticed your new hair style."

"You like it?"

"I do. Maybe I should tie my hair in a bun too."

"Nah, that ponytail suits you quite well, as does Shisendo for your lips."

"Haha, my boyfriend thought it looked good on me."

"By the way, I haven't seen you with your boyfriend lately. Did anything happen?"

"Ah, Nakumura's been feeling under the weather lately. He hasn't been to school for the last 2 weeks."

"2 weeks? You sure he's not trying to skip class or something like that?"

"Relax. He's not the type to skip out on his studies"

"Maybe he's sick."

"I hope not. Still, his absence concerns me. I was hoping I could go out on a date with him but he's yet to return my message."

"That's sad."

"I just hope he's doing okay."

"Yeah, wouldn't want anything to happen to him."

"So what's the occasion?"

"Oh this? I thought I'd just change it up a bit."

"So it's not for a boy."

"Oh heavens no."

"Bummer. And here I was, thinking you finally gathered the courage to ask him out."

"Who?"

"Doraaki Yona. I thought you had a crush on him."

"Ahaha, that's cute. I mean, I can't deny I'm attracted to him, well plenty of girls are. But I don't think he'd notice me."

"You sure about that?"

"What do you mean?"

"You're an attractive young lady."

"There are other attractive young ladies."

"Well you won't know unless you ask."

"Shouldn't it be the other way around?"

"What? You're going to wait for him to ask you out? Come on! Take the initiative. If you just sit around, there's no way you're going to accomplish anything."

"Yeah, you're right. I'll try asking him as soon as I can."

And I better do it quick. When the students first started going missing, it was just one or 2 within a 3 week period. Now it's increased to roughly 5 to 9 missing students a day. If I don't hurry, well if a girl doesn't catch him, then who knows what might happen. I can only hope he doesn't go missing either. Not before I get the chance to go out with him. A date. How romantic.

"Did you remember to bring the chemistry lab vials, Nishi?"

"Good. Now we can begin experimenting."

On the advice of my friends I've decided to join a club and looking back on it now, I have no regrets with the decision I've made.

"Hey Pres. Is it just me or are they suddenly a lot less people here?"

"I don't know. You tell me."

"Just asking. Coulda sworn we usually have 5 or more folks around here."

"You're overthinking it, Yuji. They probably decided to skip out."

"I don't know. From what I've heard, there's been a series of missing students."

"Oh come on. It's not like anyone would have any reason to want to silence the students of our high school. I mean, what sort of advantage would that give their supposed kidnappers?"

"I'm not sure. I can only hope the police do something about this soon."

"Don't we all."

Heh. There's no use in hiding it. Practically everyone's been talking about the missing students. If there's any consolation, at least none of the missing students were reported to have-

Hold on.. Is that Yona down there in the school's courtyard? What's he doing there? And is that Haisley I see there? Is she trying to mosy up with him? The nerve! She better not be doing what it is I think she's doing. I swear, if she-

"Uh, Nishi? You okay there?"

"Oh, yes yes. Just had a bit of a jealous rage for moment there."

"You got a crush?"

"You can sort of say that."

Ah good. It looks like they're just talking. Still, she better not think she can steal my man. I'll win him over no matter the cost! Okay, I shouldn't say no matter the cost but seeing her pull him towards her and lean in as if to kiss him? This cannot be allowed to stand! Yuri's right. I won't just stand by any longer. As soon as I have an opening, I'm asking him out. He's mine and mine alone. I won't let another girl have him."

"Uh, Nishi? You're kinda scaring me with that look you have there."

"Oh this? This is my game face. Don't worry. I mean no harm to either of you here."

"Relax Yuji. This is what we girls call determination. She's on fire."

"Uh-huh."

"She's not a yandere if that's what you are thinking."

"Just ignore it you two. We have work to do, now hurry."

Haisley. At first you were but a snobbish noob, but now- heh. I thought if I just let you be, you would disappear on your own. What an utter outcast and she doesn't even realize it. But by trying to get it up with my crush, you've made it personal. He deserves more than a bimbo like you. Heck, I know plenty of other girls like myself who would be just as worthy.
