A/n hey guys. I'm so sorry for the long wait. I had major writers block and then I got busy with some certification stuff I'm working on. I'm back now though. Hope yall enjoy. In this one Amanda finally begins opening up to Olivia and Fin makes a return appearance. Amanda is also autistic. I decided to make it a thing in this story but I'll be going back and editing the previous chapters to make it fit with this one. Despite the ending I'm not ending this story. I just ended it on a happy note this chapter.

The next morning Amanda and Olivia walked into the station where they were greeted by Fin.

"Morning, guys," he said with a smile. Good morning," Olivia spoke while Amanda just signed to him, making the older man shoot a questioning look to their captain who just shook her head. "I'll explain later," she said before guiding Amanda into her office.

once inside the office Amanda got comfortable on the sofa while Olivia went to her desk where she began going through the mountain of paperwork that awaited her.

A few minutes later, Olivia felt a presence beside her and she looked up to see Amanda standing beside her chair. "What's up, sweetheart?" She asked, turning her attention to the blonde.

"Can I help?" She asked, smiling and motioning to the pile of papers on her desk.

The brunette took a deep breath before responding. "No, baby," she said and her heart nearly broke at the heartbroken look on her detective's face.

"Hey hey, come here," she cooed and Amanda walked towards her before sitting in her lap.

"Trust me, your job will be here when you are better," she whispered. "Your job will be here when you are better," Amanda repeated immediately before placing a hand over her mouth. "It's ok, baby," her boss said kindly. "Do what you need to do." "Do what you need to do," she repeated before she laid her head on her boss's shoulder.

"I should've listened to you," she signed after a few minutes of silence and Olivia immediately put down her pin and gave all of her attention to the blonde in her lap.

"What do you mean, sweet girl?" She asked, having a pretty good idea what she was talking about. . "When... when you wanted to put me on desk duty," she started and Olivia just wrapped her arms around her and waited for her to continue. "If I had listened, then he wouldn't have taken me," she signed as she felt her eyes fill with tears.

"Don't do that," Olivia said, as she began rocking them slightly. "It's my falt," the blonde responded before completely breaking down.

"No no, it most certainly is not," the brunette responded adamantly as she began rubbing her friends back. "Amanda, this is on that bastard," she snapped and Amanda immediately looked up at her.

She sighed, realizing what she had done. "I'm not mad, baby," she whispered. "I just don't want you blaming yourself," she continued.

"He said I had to be good," she signed and Liv continued to hold her.

She was proud of her detective. She was finally opening up.

"Baby, you are good, you are," she cooed.

"I remember walking down the street, and I had a feeling I was being followed," she continued as she moved closer to Olivia for comfort.

"I didn't think anything of it until I saw the van," she said before her blue eyes widened in fear remembering the events from that evening.

Flashback, a year and 3 months earlier

It was a cool evening in New York as Amanda walked back to the station. They had been working this case for 4 days now and they were running on little sleep.

That was probably why she gave no notice to the van that was slowly following behind her.

The next thing she knew the van pulled up on her left side, blocking her in.

"Don't move, sweetheart," a deep male voice said and the blonde shivered. "What... what do you want?" She whispered, wishing she had listened to her boss.

"I've been watching you," he said, running a hand down her face and she attempted to pull away but he just as quickly pulled a gun.

"Now, now Amanda," he said. "I wouldn't even think of it."

She once again began struggling before everything went black.

Hey shhh baby," Olivia said, seeing her friend beginning to panic.

"You're safe, you're with me," she continued and eventually Amanda's tears stopped flowing all together.

"You're safe, you're safe," she repeated several times before her friends words registered with her.

"I'm so proud of you for opening up," she said tenderly.

"You don't have to tell me anything else right now," she said and the blonde sighed in releef, wrapping her slender arms around her protecter, the only person she completely trusted.

A few hours later, Amanda was getting hungry. "Liv?" She spoke softly and the captain looked up in surprise. "What, sweetheart?" She asked kindly.

"Would... would... you like to go get food?" She asked and her boss just gave her a look of concern.

"Sure we can, but are you sure?" She asked. She needed to be sure Amanda would be ok.

"Are you sure?" She immediately responded before nodding once she realized the question.

"Yes, I know I'm safe with you," she said quietly with a small smile.

"Ok, baby," she said, before getting her jacket and keys.

"Can... can... Fin come too?" She spoke and Olivia just gave her a surprised look but nodded.

"Of course he can," she answered and the blonde beamed up at her.

A little while later, Fin, Olivia and Amanda sat together in a little diner down the street from the station. "So, Amanda I heard you don't have to testify," Fin started and Olivia gave him a glare but the blonde shook her head.

"It's ok Liv," she signed and Olivia nodded but watched them carefully. "No, I don't," she whispered and Fin smiled, both at his partner speaking to him and at the good news. "What happen?" He asked and Olivia just sighed but before she could answer Amanda beat her to it.

"I got scared," she started looking at Olivia for reassurance, who nodded encouragement. "I had a panic attack," she continued speaking quietly andFin nodded in understanding.

"Well at least they finally get it," he said, sharing a look with Olivia who just nodded.

Once they had finished their meals Fin had to return to work, but Olivia decided to do some grocery shopping. "Hey, sweetie, are you up for going to the store?" She asked.

"Yes, I want to go with you," Amanda spoke and Liv just smiled. "I'll even cook tonight," She said but her boss just shook her head. "You don't have to, baby," she said but Amanda just shruged. "It's ok, I want to," She responded. "It's the least I can do."

"Ok, sweetheart," the brunette responded. "I'll help," she said.

"I'll help," Amanda repeated before flapping her hands excitedly.

Later on that night they prepared to go to bed. "hey, baby are you sleeping with me?" Olivia asked and Amanda thought it over before nodding. "Sleeping with you," she answered before cuddling close to Olivia under the blankets and drifting off to sleep.

Olivia relaxed herself before smiling at the sleeping blonde cuddled into her chest. Amanda's autism brought its own set of challenges along with the trauma from the abduction but they would take it one day at a time.
