Here's the next chapter. We see Amanda's response to Olivia getting hurt and she is finally able to make things right from when she lost her patients with her in the last chapter.
I decided to redo this one though and do another request so Olivia's injury will be a little more serious than I originally planned. Thanks to Janeecz for the suggestion.
"What did you say?" Alex breathed, not wanting to believe what she was hearing.
She knew this would be extremely difficult on the blonde sleeping in her arms.
"She was shot, and she's on the way to the hospital," Fin said and Alex let out a deep breath, looking down at Amanda.
"What the hell happened?" She asked.
Fin took a deep breath before responding.
"We found the little girl, but the perp had a gun and when we attempted to arrest him he fired at us, hitting Liv in the shoulder," Fin explained.
"Amanda is gonna freak," she said quietly and he just let out a sigh.
"Liv said that too," he answered.
"At least she's talking," Alex said and he just nodded in agreement, even though she couldn't see him.
"I'll be there soon," she said.
"Thanks for calling," she said.
"You're welcome, good luck," he said before hanging up.
Amanda began waking up and when she saw Alex's face she attempted to hug her and she pulled her close.
The ADA took a deep breath before saying the words she knew could shatter the blonde into a million pieces.
"Sweetie, Liv was shot," she whispered softly and Amanda just stared at her for a long time.
Then, realizing Olivia had gotten hurt, she lost it. Not knowing how to process all of her emotions from the night before and now with Olivia's injury, it was to much.
Her eyes filled with tears and she immediately began shrieking at the top of her lungs.
"Liv, wanna see Liv" she screamed, pleating to see the brunette, needing to be close to her.
"Shhh sweetie, we are going to see her," Alex cooed, rocking Amanda gently.
"She's at Manhattan general," she continued and sighed in relief when Amanda's shrieking lessened to silent sobs and sniffles.
"Ok, baby, we are gonna go now," she whispered and she loaded the blonde into the car and started for the hospital.
After arriving at the hospital, they found Fin in Olivia's room with Olivia and the doctor, where she was getting patched up after surgery.
"How is she?" Alex asked and the doctor looked at the two.
"She should be fine, Miss Cabot," the Dr. responded with a smile.
"What is it, sweetie?" Alex asked when she felt a tug on her sleeve.
"Liv," Amanda said, motioning towards the bed and Alex sighed before squating down in front of her.
"Yeah, baby, she's right there," she said, and watched as Amanda carefully approached the bed before stopping and the attorney knew what she wanted.
She looked at the doctor and motioned for her to approach.
"Um, can she get on the bed with her?" She asked, motioning to the blonde carefully holding her friends hand.
Jackie looked at her with a small smile before nodding and Alex nodded to Amanda.
Suddenly Olivia opened her eyes and saw Alex, Amanda and Jackie in the room.
"Hey guys," she whispered and they all smiled.
Amanda, finally seeing the brunette and fully understanding what happened, once again lost it, reaching towards Olivia, desperately wanting to be held.
"Can she hold her?" Alex asked and Jackie nodded. "Yes," she said.
"Thank you, She should settle down once I'm holding her," the brunette said as she felt Amanda carefully climbing onto the bed.
"Oh, baby, shhh," she said, carefully shifting the young detective into a position on her chest that was comfortable for both of them. "I'm ok, I promise," she began, trying to calm her down but it didn't seem to be working.
"You got hurt," she began shrieking once more and Liv began rubbing her back gently.
"I know baby, but I'm ok, I promise," she said once again.
"I didn't think you wanted me anymore," she wailed and Alex just gave her a look.
"I think this is about more than you getting hurt," she mouthed and Olivia nodded. "I fucked up," she responded and her friend nodded with a sigh.
"She needs to sleep," she said andOlivia nodded in agreement.
Dr. Phillips gave me some medicine to give her if she got like this. "Where is it?" Alex asked and Olivia told her where she kept it in the bedroom and how much to give.
"I'll be right back," Alex said before beginning to leave the room but was stopped by jackie.
"We have that hear," she said and Alex let out a grateful sigh as the Dr. left the room.
"Amanda, shh," Liv cooed, still rocking her and just as Jackie had returned with the medicine, Amanda got into her comfort positions, finally seeming to begin to realize the brunette was ok and she infact, wasn't leaving.
"That's my girl," Liv said, pressing a kiss to Amanda's head.
"Liv, I got the—," Jackie started but then stopped at the sight in front of her and stared at Alex who followed her line of vision before noticing Amanda's hands in their favorite spots, one in her mouth and the other gripping the brunette's shirt. "Um, what is that about?" She asked and Alex let out a soft sigh before beginning to explain.
"This is Amanda, one of Olivia's detectives and she was rescued a few months ago after being held hostage for a year," she started before continuing.
"As you can see she's very attached to Liv and that is how she soothes herself sometimes," she said and Jackie just gave her a sad smile.
"She just only trusts Liv and it took her a while to begin to trust me." "She's terrified of being separated from Liv or something happening to her, as you saw," she continued.
"What happened to her"? She asked and Ahlex just shook her head.
"It was bad," she answered, nodding towards the two. "I take it she's not usually like... that?" She asked and Alex shook her head.
"It depends." "Sometimes she is fine being left to her own devices and other times she just wants that," she said nodding to Amanda now calmly cuddling with the brunette.
"She's autistic as well," Alex continued andJackie finally understood.
"She's starting to calm down," the brunette said, as she felt the blonde slowly begin to relax, all while never letting go of her.
"I'm gonna explain to her what happened now that she's calmer, and then I'm gonna lay down here with her for a bit." "She is exhausted," she continued and Alex nodded. "Is that ok, Jackie?" She asked her doctor who nodded.
"Of course, Olivia," she said softly before leaving the room.
"I'll stay with you guys," the attorney said and Olivia gave her a grateful smile.
"Hey, sweetie, can you look at me?" Olivia asked and the blonde complied, but didn't stop chewing on her fingers.
"I want you to listen to me," she started.
"What happened last night was not your fault, and that does not mean I don't want you," she said.
"I had no right to yell at you," she continued and "I'm so sorry I did," she said.
"I love you, baby," she whispered.
"Do you understand?" She asked and smiled when Amanda nodded.
"As for me getting hurt, I just got shot in the shoulder but I'm ok," she continued and sighed in releef when she felt Amanda running her fingers that were previously clutching her shirt softly over the bandage, before abruptly stopping.
"It's ok, you can touch it," the brunette said and that was all the conformation the blonde needed.
After a bit Olivia felt the blonde become heavier in her arms.
"Are you tired, baby?" She whispered.
"Uh-huh," Amanda mumbled, cuddling closer.
"Ok, sweetheart, let's take a nap," she said, carefully lying down with Amanda in her arms.
"Recliner," the blonde mumbled quietly, making the brunette grin, knowing exactly what she wanted once she saw the chair in the room.
"We have to lay here for now, but I'll get you into your normal position," she said, attempting to keep her calm in this new environment.
A few minutes later, Alex returned from getting her stuff from the car and had to place a hand over her mouth to muffle her squeals at the adoreable sight.
The two women were fast asleep in the bed, with Amanda lying gently on the brunette's chest, with her face tucked into Olivia's neck sleeping soundly.
the attorney quietly covered them with a blanket before collapsing into the chair beside the bed, where she followed their example and drifted off to sleep herself.
