A Promotion?
No.. this won't do. At the pace I'm working at, it will be decades, perhaps my entire life before I'm even considered eligible for a B- rank, not to mention that even if I got promoted, I don't have a way to maintain a steady flow of 3,400 pts daily. Augh! There has got to be a more optimal way of doing things! Hm, perhaps it's about time I closely examine the point ranking system of this Society…

3 hours. In general I can only partake in the Society's activities for 3 hours, this is because the only times I can work within these facilities is around lunch and during the after school club activity hours, which last from 5:45 PM until 8 PM, which if we take into account the time it takes for me to get to the facilities leads me to being only able work 3 hours for a 5 day work shift since school is closed during the weekends. If I work purely maintenance, it would take me.. 550 * 3 is equal to … 1,650.. And I need about.. What was it again? I- I think it was 2173475- Hold on! I- I remember now!
Okay, Let's take 550 * 3.. Which should give me around 1540-
Augh! Math was never really my strong suit. Haha, it's kind of funny though, seeing how well I'm doing in my Stock Trading class, it's just laughable that I'm a complete ditz when it comes to mental math. I better get out a piece of pen and paper so I can calculate this.
550 * 3 = 1650
1650 * 5 = 8,250
270,000 / 8,250 = 32.72 repeating
Hmm, ignoring holidays and assuming school doesn't close early for any reason, it would take me..
Okay, there are.. Let's see here-
School for Japan starts on either April 7 or April 8th. If both of these days fall during the weekends however then school will start on the closest weekday following the standard procedure. In short school can either start on April 7, 8 or 9th. From here until around July 20th is the Spring semester followed by a 40 day summer break with classes resuming on the first day of September or whatever weekday is approximate should the first day of September be a weekend. That means our summer semester starts on either September 1 or September 3rd. Winter break starts from December 25 (yeah for Christmas!) and goes until January 7th thus causing our winter semester to run from the closest weekday following January 7th until March 25th where Spring Break starts and then finishes around April 5th with the Spring semester following shortly afterwards.
Excluding school holidays and under the assumption that school isn't closed for any reasons, this lands me with about.. 11 weeks minus 1 day for- no! I forgot! During the day before any semester break, classes are typically a lot shorter; that is we only have 2 periods for the day right before any semester break starts and 2 periods for when semester break starts..
I think I'd ought to check that first.. Now what was it? Think Aoi, think. When I came back to school, how many periods did I have? I think it was around 3.. So that wouldn't have been enough for me to fit in lun- no! I did have lunch! I remember that!
Whew! Okay then, I guess I don't need to adjust for the day immediately preceding and succeeding semester break. That's going to be a lot easier on myself.
For Spring semester we have about 11 weeks minus 1 day.. Which should give us, 7 *- no, it's 5 * because a school week is only 5 days.
5 * 11 - 1 = 55 - 1 = 54.
Without counting school holidays, there are 54 school days during Spring semester. Um, for this year we had about 14 weeks + 4 days for our Summer semester. That gives us .. 14/2 * 10.. Which is 70 + 4 for a total of 74 days of Summer semester.
Oh, I just remembered something important. Since I've only recently joined the Society I'll have to take that into consideration. Right, now where was I?
16 weeks + 2 days for Winter semester
Altogether now we have:
54 + 74 + 82 which gives us a total of 210 school days. In terms of school weeks, that is approximately 42 school weeks.
Wowszers! Yeah, at the rate that I'm going there's no way I could-
Since I don't have in the way of- er, actually I do. I did used to work for a shipment arrangement facility so I should have some maintenance knowledge.
550 * 3 = 1650
1650 * 5 = 8,250
270,000 / 8,250 = 32.72 re-
Huh.
I guess I really can evolve my ranking to the next stage. If I keep this up, I'll only have to work my butt off for about.. Let me check the calendar again. Okay, that's 13 weeks until Winter break and starting from next year, we have 10 weeks + 3 days of winter semester and I'll need about 42 weeks worth of working maintenance which if I do the math ends up with me getting a chance for a B-rank promotion on the… 14 weeks +3 days.. 13 + 10 + 14 = 37 weeks
Augh! By the time I'm promoted I'll only have 1 grade left, this simply won't do!
I knew it! There has got to be a better way of earning points here.. But what exactly?

Today I saw a fellow C-rank staff member get reprimanded for busting a pipe. I think I overheard them say that intentionally sabotaging the daily proceedings of the Society just to garner points will not be tolerated. I'm not sure how much points she lost because of that but why would anyone do something so stupid? Hm, by the way today I've also learned how to check how many points I currently have. In order to see how many points a staff member has accumulated we insert our access card into one of several terminal pcs in our facilities. I found this out –. – \\..\\ +++.-.-.-.
Drats! Looks like some sort of computer error.
"Oh that? Yeah, I don't know what's up with our computer today. We're just having so many malfunctions and errors. Sort of like a glitch or some bug."
"Think we've been hacked?"
"Doubt it. Our cybersecurity is among the best in the nation. It's probably a performance error or something. Don't worry we'll get it resolved. In the meantime, would you mind helping me with something?"
"(ugh) Just anything to get more points, I guess."
"Good. I need you to bring these samples to the lab. Be Careful no to tilt them too far. Try to maintain a steady posture. Think you can do it?"
"Of course. This will be easy."
"Mm-hm."
A petri-dish. I wonder what sort of experiment that senior researcher has in mind.

Hmm. There are a couple of cadavers and a few skinned hides of some lions. A series to tubes connecting to a-
"What is that thing?"
"Oh that? This is the work of my experiment. I still haven't perfected it yet but I think I'll be gaining some monumental momentum pretty soon. Anyways, enough chit-chat. Place the petri dish inside the slot when I tell you to."
This Society has many wonders but I have never seen something like this! A vast array of vasts with some strange substance. It's probably a nutrient dense concoction and yet what's more surprising of all is that there appears to be something forming inside of them. It's almost as if-
"Now."
Right. Speculations can come later. Right now I have a job to do.

"Very well met. Here's your reward for helping me. That'll be 3,240 pts which will be added to your grand total. I hope to work with you again soon."
As do I. That thing, er things I saw in that lab. What could it possibly be? It looks like my Society is trying to create some sort of organism, a chimera maybe? No.. it's too early to say but it's just as I expected. This Society is truly amazing! If they can develop technology to shrink others, then it stands to reason that something like this should be trivial to them. Fascinating. I have to know what-
Experiment 17304: bio- Subject Class C:
Subject class C. I haven't been in the Society for long but there are some terminologies each member aside from shrinkies should be made aware of. Bio- Subject Class C can only refer to one of two things. Either what I saw inside that room was a chimera or… if it is what I think it is, then this could come in handy later on! Yes, I'll have to pay this room a visit later on. This could be useful.
