Here's the next chapter. Hope yall enjoy. Thinking about ending this pretty soon but I'm not sure just yet.
Olivia was working diligently in her office the next day when she heard a quiet voice calling her name. Looking up, she stared in shock at her blonde detective standing in the doorway.
"Hey, baby." "What are you doing here?" She asked, going over to the younger woman and giving her a hug.
"I... I-I'm doing better," she said as a blush made its way up her neck and onto her face, and Olivia tilted her chin and made eye contact with her friend. "Baby, it's ok," she started.
"You cope in your own way, and that's totally alright," she continued, tucking a strand of blonde hair behind Amanda's ear.
"I know I'm supposed to be with Kim, but I... I... I wanted you," she said softly as she tucked herself into the corner of the sofa closest to the brunette's desk.
"I'm glad you came here," she said. "I wanted to see you too."
"We caught the man who was helping, him," she revealed after a bit of silence and Amanda visibly relaxed.
"Good." "So, can w... we go home?" She asked with a tremble and Liv knelt down in front of her.
"Yeah baby, we can," she said and Amanda relaxed once more.
"Liv, I need a therapy appointment," Amanda said quietly as they sat together on the couch, watching an old classic movie on the tv later on that night and Liv pressed the mute button on the remote before giving Amanda her full attention. "You have one tomorrow, sweetheart," she said softly and Amanda sighed in relief.
"Good. "I want to get better and have my life back," she continued.
"I mean, I don't think I'll be able to live by myself, but..."
Olivia, as usual though understood. Pulling the blonde into a hug she began speaking softly. "Baby, I'm so proud of you."
"You went through hell, but you aren't letting it consume you," she continued. "You have your bad days, but you're learning how to deal with that," she said as her eyes filled with tears and Amanda was doing her best not to cry as well. "I wanna get back out in the field, but I'm scared," she said after a bit. "What are you scared of, sweetheart?" Olivia said gently, having a pretty good idea of what was scaring her. "Of... of... of be... being taken away from you," she said as the floodgates opened without warning and she began to sob.
"Oh, sweetie, come here," the brunette said as her chest tightened painfully as she watched her friend struggle, her need to comfort and sooth almost overwhelming.
"Shhh, baby." "You're ok, I've got you," she whispered, rocking her friend back and forth.
"Scared," she sobbed and Olivia kissed the blonde head tucked into her neck as her hand slipped under her top where she began rubbing her back and shoulders, trying to soothe her with her touch.
"I know, baby," she said, still continuing to hold and rock her. "You know what though?" She asked before continuing gently.
"Next time there is someone after you I'm going to be sure I put you on desk duty and I'm going to keep an extra close eye on you," she said and Amanda just cuddled closer, even though it was impossible. "I-I-I'll listen to you from now on," she hiccuped and Olivia just closed her eyes, trying desperately to keep her own sobs from bursting forth.
"Amanda, I need you to listen to me," she said sternly and she immediately made eye contact with her captain. "You were not kidnapped because you wouldn't go on desk duty."
"He had a type, and for some reason, I don't know why but he was fixated on you," she continued before taking a deep breath to calm down.
"B-but," she began but was stopped by Olivia pressing a finger against her lips. "No buts, Amanda," she interrupted.
"This is not your fault, and I need you to understand that," she said in a much softer voice and Amanda just laid her head on Olivia's shoulder, trying to believe her.
"So, Amanda, Olivia tells me you're struggling with being back at work," Dr. Phillips said the next day as she sat with the blonde in her office and Amanda just let out a sigh. "Yeah, I am," she whispered, not making eye contact.
"Would you like to tell me about it?" She asked patiently, making eye contact with the brunette through the office window and smiling as Amanda followed her gaze.
"I'm scared of being kidnapped again," she finally spoke. "Is that why you just want to remain on desk duty?" She asked and the blonde nodded.
"I'll be near Liv," she said and Dr. Phillips sighed, hating what she had to do next.
"I heard you're living with her?" She asked and Amanda nodded with a smile and the therapist took a deep breath before doing the one thing that could send her patient into a panic, but knowing she had no choice if she wanted to truly help the blonde.
"Amanda, I recommend that you go stay with your sister for a few days." "You need time away from Olivia to realize -" "No," Amanda screamed as her breathing picked up speed and she began sobbing almost hysterically.
"Amanda, listen to me." "I'm not taking you away from Olivia," Dr. Phillips said sadly, knowing how much being around Olivia these last 5 months since her rescue had helped her.
"I just think it would help you to see that you're truly safe," she said softly, feeling extremely guilty when Amanda rushed through the door and into the waiting room where Olivia sat reading a magazine.
"Amanda?" "What's the matter?" Olivia said as the blonde began trying to climb into her lap, still sobbing.
"she... She... she wants me t... t... t-to go stay w-with Kim for a few days," she wailed and Liv had to do everything she could not to break down with her, knowing why she had made that suggestion.
"Oh, baby, come here," she cooed as she lifted Amanda onto her lap before standing and walking back into Dr. Phillip's office.
"Olivia, I'm so sorry," Dr. Phillips began but Olivia just shook her head. "It's alright," she said as she took a seat on the couch with Amanda still clinging tightly to her.
"How do you want to do this?" She asked and her therapist began to think that over. "Amanda, baby, I need you to listen to me," Olivia began and sighed in relief when Amanda's teary blue eyes met hers.
"Good girl, just calm down," she whispered as the blonde slowly began to relax the more she looked into the brunette's eyes.
"Amanda?" Dr. Phillips said after a few minutes and the blonde's red rimmed eyes met those of her therapist. "I promise, I have no plans of taking you from Olivia," she started and Amanda turned and buried her face in Olivia's neck, but still continued to listen.
"I only suggested you stay with Kim so you could get used to being away from Olivia when you do go back in the field." "Trust me, you will not be leaving Olivia as long as I'm around," she said and the brunette pressed a kiss to Amanda's head before quietly speaking in her ear.
"She's telling the truth," Olivia whispered and her detective finally lifted her head before softly uttering, "You promise?"
"I promise, Amanda," she said gently and the blonde began to relax but didn't move out of Olivia's arms.
"I don't want to be scared anymore," she whispered after a few minutes and Dr. Phillips nodded in understanding. "I know Amanda, and I believe I can continue to help you," she said before the timer went off.
"Well, Amanda, I'll see you next week," she said with a smile and Amanda smiled back. "I'm sorry for... for... for earlier," she stuttered but the older woman just waved it off with a dismissive hand.
"It's totally alright." "I understand," she said kindly and the blonde smiled shyly before leaving the office with Olivia.
Arriving home Amanda immediately cuddles against Olivia and sighed tiredly. "You ready for bed, honey?" She asked softly. "Uh-huh," she mumbled and Liv grinned before helping her get changed and into bed, before she followed her example.
A few hours later Olivia was awakened by an ear splitting scream that shook the walls of the small apartment. Rushing across the hall and into Amanda's room she saw her tossing and turning in the bed, one word passing through her trembling lips, the brunette's name.
"Olivia," she yelled, sitting straight up in the bed and throwing herself at her boss, beginning to run her hands desperately over her face and looked at her from head to toe, making sure there were no injuries.
"Livy!" "Livy, he had you," she shrieked hysterically.
"He was... He was... He was burning you, Livy," she sobbed, and all the brunette could do was hold her.
"Who, baby?" "Who was hurting me," she asked, having a sickening feeling she knew the answer. "Le... Le... Lewis," she said as she began hyperventilating, the images returning on a loop in her head without warning.
"Oh, sweetheart, come here," she said as she went around to the other side of the bed, climbed under the covers and pulled the blonde into her arms where she began attempting to calm her down. "Lewis is dead, and he nor your abductor will ever hurt us again, I promise," she said as she felt Amanda clutch the front of her pajama shirt while her other hand went into her mouth and the brunette made sure she had one of the blonde's chewy's incase she needed it.
"Just relax, honey, I'm right here," she whispered and she tapped the hand that was in her mouth when she saw her chewing may be getting out of control. "No, baby, either you be gentle or you use the chewy," she said and she immediately chose the chewy, like the brunette thought she would.
"There you go, just relax," she said once more as Amanda began doing what she needed to do. "Lewis is dead," she signed and Olivia pressed a kiss to her head in comfort.
"Yeah, baby, he is," she said softly.
Finally after several minutes Amanda fell back to sleep, safe in the arms of the one person she trusted without a shadow of a doubt.
