SAKURA AND VERSACE
02
THE BLEACHERS
Sakura spends the rest of her day contemplating if she could simply lie and say she was too sick to go out for ramen with Naruto. She didn't know how she felt about doing anything with him outside of school. Not that something was wrong with him, it was just odd.
From what Sakura could remember, she had never seen him hang out with anyone she'd dubbed "his circle". As cliche as it was, anybody that wasn't a cheerleader or a baseball player never even sat at his table. But maybe she was wrong, she only went to the cafeteria once a week anyway.
The final bell for the day rings and Sakura begins to walk for the parking lot. It was only two-forty meaning she had about an hour and a few minutes before she formally had to meet up with Naruto. Maybe she could go home and take a nap or-
"Sakura-chan!" Someone yells and unsurprisingly, it's Naruto. Jogging towards her in his baseball uniform, it should have been illegal for it to fit him the way it did.
"We aren't supposed to meet until four, aren't we?" She asks as he comes to a stop in front of her. The latter scratches the back of his neck, "I mean, yeah but you don't have anything else to do, do you?"
No, she didn't but what exactly did that have to do with him? She was already having ramen with him, what else did Naruto have in mind? "No but-
"Then you can wait for me during practice, right?"
Sakura felt her stomach clench. Wait for him during practice?! Like sit on the benches and wait for him? No, absolutely not. He was taking an inch and turning it into a mile. It seemed Naruto was just as demented as she was. "What?! No, have you lost- No!"
Naruto blinks for a second, "Ehhh Sakura-Chan, you'll be fine I promise. I'll make sure of it." He pats her shoulder before gripping her elbow and pulling her along, much to her dismay. Sakura was sure they were such a sight. Her being pulled along by the school's baseball captain. Like clowns in a circus, everyone that passed them stared.
Slipping through the gym then finally arriving at the baseball field, Naruto walks over to the not-so vacant bleachers. Sakura had vaguely held onto the hope that maybe, maybe she would be the only one out there, but he should've known better. The Konoha High cheerleaders sat together, in their pretty orange and black uniforms. Sakura immediately felt out of place in her jeans and rainbow top.
The girls quiet down at the sight of her and Naruto. "Cheerleaders, Sakura-Chan. Sakura-Chan, cheerleaders."
"We have names, Naruto." The dusty-blonde one says with a roll of her eyes. "Which you all can tell her yourself." He responds with a shrug before looking down towards her, "Four on the dot."
Sighing she nods, "On the dot." He smiles brightly before running off to the field leaving Sakura and her things on the bleachers.
"So Sakura-Chan~" A platinum blonde teases, "how exactly do you know Naruto?"
"I'm in charge of his article for the school's newspaper." She mumbles, feeling completely out of her element. "That dimwit gets to be on the front page of the newspaper?" The blonde asks before snickering, "And you're writing it? Right?"
"I mean yeah-
"Make sure to put my name in there somewhere, ok? The cheer team's captain Ino Yamanaka."
Sakura laughs awkwardly, "Sure." She says only to appease the other girl knowing she wasn't going to be doing anything of the sort. Sakura had no clue how Ino and Naruto were collected but she didn't really care, the girl wasn't going in her article and that was that.
The hour flies by and before she knows it, Naruto is jogging back towards her, sweaty and smelling funny. Sakura immediately pulls the top of her shirt up around her nose. "You smell horrible." She says bluntly when he's close enough.
Even as pretty as Naruto is, he's still a boy, so when he pulls his arm up to smell his armpits Sakura isn't surprised, only mildly disgusted. His own nose crinkles in disgust, "Geez," He gags, "Give me ten minutes to hit the showers, then we could go get that ramen."
The rosette drops her chin into her hands, "Be my guest." she moans officially aggravated. If Naruto notices her tone, he doesn't show it, only throwing a thumbs up before leaving her on the bleachers, again.
If Sakura hoped for one thing at that moment, it was that the ramen Naruto kept talking about would be worth it.
NARUTO i.
Making Sakura sit through his practice had most definitely ruffled more than just her feathers but having her wait as he showered more than likely was making her mad. Naruto knew he was stepping over all of the boundaries Sakura was setting up and he was sorry, so he'd scrubbed himself raw as fast as he could trying to hurry up and shower before Sakura threw caution to the wind and left him.
Besides, he was pretty sure she was hungry, especially since the "interview" had taken up both of their lunch periods.
Pulling his shirt over his head, he makes a run for the field but Sasuke steps into his view before he could step out of the locker room doors. "For Kami's sake teme, move." He moans as his best friend grunts, "Going to harass that girl more?"
"You make me sound like a criminal, teme." Naruto scoffs but Sasuke only raises his eyebrows, "You might as well be. You've been stalking Sakura since tenth grade."
"And she never once noticed! Maybe I'm just invisible or something." Naruto whines, "I'm literally six'two with whiskers for birthmarks. How do you miss me?"
"Maybe she bats for the other team," Sasuke says in the rare attempt to tell a joke but Naruto only blinks before shoving his friend aside, "I'm going to pretend you didn't say that and completely jinx my chances, dumbass."
Thank you everyone that left reviews, bookmarked, and/or favorited. It's good to know i'm not apart of a dying species
Also, I don't know the difference between a lemon and a smut but this story will have smut, eventually, and it will be explicit :)
