"No!" Loki shouted. "I will not let you destroy the one thing you love most!"
"What do you know of love?" Kuri said. "You who betrayed me?"
Loki looked at her. "Don't make me do this."
"There is nothing you can do. My army arises and takes this world as we speak!" Kuri said.
"Freeze!" Loki stabbed Excalibur into the balcony. "Time! Freeze!"
Helicarrier, Yesterday
"Loki. I know what you plan to do." Thor said.
"Then you know that you cannot stop me." Loki said.
"You have violated a taboo once. You must not do it again." Thor said. "You know the penalty."
"And I will accept it." Loki said.
"It means death Loki!" Thor argued. "No rebirth, no Valhalla, just non-existence!"
"So be it." Loki said.
Manhattan, Present
Iron Man opened his eyes. "Nothing... happened!?"
Kuri and the Chitari were frozen, amid a dark cloud.
"They're standing still!? Loki!?" Thor sees light swirling around Excalibur. "Oh no! He froze time!"
The others slowly opened their eyes and got up. The portal held still in the sky.
"Everything's stopped moving!" Captain America said.
"The portal too? Even the air... It's like it's all frozen!" Hawkeye said.
"Time... stopped!?" Rei said.
The fog around Iron Man dissipated. He landed next to Rei. "...Ra...ye..."
The fog around Kuri left. She fell to the ground.
Loki was knocked to the floor, and lost consciousness.
Rei and Thor ran to him. "Loki!? Wake up!"
Thor looked down at his brother. "He shouldn't have done that! He froze time...!"
"Loki did what!?" Captain America said.
"He froze time. He violated the most important law..." Thor said.
"What law!?" Bruce said.
Loki groaned.
"The most important law!? What's that!? And if Loki broke it, what'll happen!?" Rei asked.
"If you ever violate that law... You will give up your life." Thor said.
"He gave up his life...!?" Iron Man shouted.
"Time has frozen..." Loki said. "But it won't last for long... Thor...destroy the Chitari... from inside the portal..."
"Loki!" Thor shouted.
"Hurry!" he said.
