Role Reversal

AN: Elena and Jeremy are something akin to Originals and it won't be known until the next chapter-Klaus has an inkling to it but until a witch verifies it, he's keeping it to himself

Chapter Two: A Carnival of Blood and Witchcraft

Elena was giggling as Elijah had given her some cotton candy before he noticed that the veins wriggling under her eyes were pulsing a bit.

"The veins right here are pulsing," he whispered to her and she turned her head to look at him in shock. "It's fine." He smiled. "Have you had blood recently?" She shook her head. "I'll help you out then. You can feed from me if you want."

She gulped.

"I've…never fed from someone though I was recently turned," she murmured feeling a bit embarrassed.

He gently led her away and had her look him in the eye; her eyes were swirling with sadness.

"How did you turn?" He asked and she let out a breath.

"I was in a car crash with Jeremy," she recalled, "I guess someone gave me and Jeremy blood and then we were smothered by Damon Salvatore." He felt anger and disgust. "We woke up, had blood and here we are." He nodded and as he turned her around, placing her back into his chest. Biting into his wrist, he placed his bleeding wrist in front of her.

"You can have as much as you want," he whispered. "Just sink your fangs into the wound and drink."

She seemed nervous but as she did as he instructed, her eyes rolled back and she was pulling deeply until she felt a set of fangs pierce her neck, causing her to moan out.

Elijah couldn't help it but as he sunk his fangs into her, he was marveling at her taste. He growled lowly as he heard someone walk towards them. Pulling his fangs out of the brunette, he whispered, "that's enough Lovely."

She pulled her fangs out and turned her head to look at him, wondering what had transpired.

"Elena?" She turned to see a boy-a vampire due to his scent and the obvious Daylight ring-with dark blonde hair and blue eyes. "What are you doing?"

"She was feeding off of me," Elijah told him with a low growl. "She needed blood." The vampire recoiled. "She is under my protection."

"What does that mean?" His little witchpire (due to her blood and scent) asked him in a soft voice.

"It means that he's going to be your protector," Elijah looked up from his glowering at the young vampire to move and see Kai there, a malicious look on his face. "Like she's under mine." Kai turned to Elena and smiled. "I can help Elijah here teach you anything you would like to know." She smiled.

"I would like that," she told them. "I really would."

Elijah smirked at the young vampire boy who was wary around them. While he didn't like instilling fear into people, he found it to be fitting in cases.

This was one such case-and he found himself reveling in it. His Lovely Elena was suddenly glowering at the young vampire. He must have said something while he was reveling in the fear.

"Stefan just because you can't see just how rotten Caroline is doesn't mean that I'm suddenly selling myself out to a vampire," she was snarling and he noticed that Kai was angry as well. "They're promising to protect me and unlike you I believe them." Here she sneered. "Go back to screwing her perfect princess Caroline because I can't stand you."

Elijah had her standing slightly behind him. He didn't like the way the vampire looked at Elena-the cold, domineering way his eyes flashed over her as though he seemed to know something that she didn't.

"It was my blood that you and Jeremy ingested," he told her. "So basically I sired you and I believe that you're ruining yourself with blood fresh from the vein. You need animal blood."

Elijah snorted.

"Animal blood doesn't do anything," Kai scoffed. "It does nothing." He shrugged. "I tried it and felt sick…getting it straight from the vein is better."

"Then she'll be a true monster," the young boy growled. "She needs-" he stopped as he felt something crushing his brain.

"What she needs is proper training and I can't give her that," a young mocha skinned woman was there in a blue spaghetti strap dress in a pair of blue wedge heels. "If you both can then let me be there to watch." She smiled. "She and Jeremy are my best friends."

"You are?" Kai asked warily as the magic coming off her was strong but still weak.

"Bonnie Bennett," she introduced herself. "Who are you two?"

"Kai Parker," he saw her gulp, "and this is Elijah Mikaelson." She nodded but looked at him. "Notorious serial killer."

"Why did you kill your entire family?" She asked and he snorted.

"There's still some members of my family alive," he reminded her. "As to why? They claim I killed my mother when she pushed me out and being born a Siphoner." She winced.

"It wasn't your fault though," she declared. "You didn't kill her and it wasn't your fault you were born a Siphoner…whatever a Siphoner is." She blushed and he blinked.

"Weren't you taught that?" He asked in confusion.

"Grams recently died," the little witchpire said softly as she moved from Elijah's arms and went to Bonnie. "Damon Salvatore killed her when he made Grams and Bonnie here undo the spell on the tomb under the old church."

Elijah felt pity for the young witches, as did Kai.

"If you want I can teach you as well," Kai promised. "It won't be how to massacre an entire family if you're worried."

She shook her head.

"I'm strangely not worried."

Caroline was seriously fed up as she looked around for Bonnie who ditched her to see the Gilberts.

It wasn't like they were special-sure, their parents died but that shouldn't make them special. She felt like she was a little more special then they were.

She was the top student in every class; she was in every club and community project while they weren't. She was Miss Mystic Falls as Stefan was her escort while Elena was stuck with a not even there Matt Donovan and had Tyler Lockwood being her escort.

Her fingers went through her blonde halo locks as she looked for Bonnie. Her feet crunched the dead leaves when she saw them talking to a couple of men-one of them was way out of Elena's league with his sharp suit.

Flicking her hair out of her face she strutted over to her two friends with the two men with a sweet smile that hid her true feelings about her two friends.

She wasn't fond of Elena who tried too hard to be perfect-even with her nerdy love of comics and games.

She also wasn't fond of Bonnie who preferred wearing the chunky necklaces and bracelets and was into meditation as well as being a health nut.

"Elena, Bonnie would you mind introducing me to your friends?" She asked sweetly though her tone belied that she was being sweet.

"This is Elijah Mikaelson," Elena told her as she motioned towards the suited man, "and Kai Parker." The other man was smirking.

"You look familiar…" Caroline hummed as she looked at Kai. "Where have I seen you before?"

"Newspapers," Kai told her with a wicked grin. "The Parker family in Oregon years ago all mysteriously died…" the look of maliciousness in his eyes was horrifying to her.

Shaking her head, she smiled.

"I'm Caroline Forbes," she introduced herself and trying to make herself look better than Elena and Bonnie. "If you want I can show you all around the town…" the innuendo was noticeable to the four.

"Can you show me to the jail cells that way I can toss you in it?" Kai drawled, as he wasn't impressed with this girl.

She seemed to be a little too…sensual. He dared cast a glance at Elijah who looked at Caroline in disgust.

The blonde seemed to ignore their glances and turned to Elena with a glare that would have made the witchpire shiver in fear but she didn't.

"Elena you shouldn't be suing Tyler for your reckless driving," she snapped angrily. "He wasn't driving as recklessly as you were-or as irrationally as you claim he was." She had her hands on her hips.

Elena glowered at her.

"Screw you Caroline," Elena said while surprising the blonde. "Screw you! He was driving irrationally and recklessly! HE crashed into Jeremy and I! We almost died!" Her anger was slowly coming out and both Bonnie and Kai noticed that flames were flaring up behind them. "You don't care! You never have cared about anyone but yourself and what you can get!"

Caroline looked scandalized.

"You're the one who doesn't care," Caroline almost shouted. "You don't care about anyone!"

Bonnie snorted, causing the fuming and red faced blonde to stare at her.

"Caroline…" Bonnie began, "who Elena sues isn't any of our business and while talking to Matt and Hannah they agree with Elena-he was driving irrationally while claiming to hear a piercing sound."

"You've always sided with her," Caroline cried. "You've never sided with me." Bonnie felt her eye twitch. "I thought I was your best friend."

The witch nearly exploded only for Elena to touch her arm, trying to calm her down only for Caroline to stare hatefully at Elena.

"You turned her against me," the blonde whispered. "You turned her against me."

"Get over yourself you stupid selfish spoiled bitch," Elena exploded. "You are not special! You are so self absorbed that it's hilarious!" She sneered at her. "You're a stereotypical snowflake!"

While Elijah and Kai were stunned with her explosion, Bonnie wasn't, as she knew that Elena had been close to exploding. The witch knew that it was making the witchpire have internal debate over to voice her anger to the blonde or not.

"That's not true," Caroline rebuffed.

"You had me compelled to forget how you would always put me down and make me feel like I was crap," Elena admitted which made Caroline gulp and Bonnie snarl. "You had me compelled to stop enjoying my desires and to stop playing video games even when I was having a difficult day." Tears fell from her eyes. "I can't be here." She turned and ran off, unable to be there any longer.

Bonnie turned to Caroline with hate in her eyes.

"You don't want to be near me Caroline," she warned. "You don't." She ended up punching her in the face, breaking the blonde's nose. "Go back to sleeping with Stefan while lusting for Damon." She ended up following Elena who was at her car, breathing heavily. "Elena…why didn't you tell me earlier?" She whispered as she touched her Daylight ring.

"I wanted to process it and…" she looked at her with tears in her eyes. "I didn't mean to explode. I just-" Bonnie soothed her.

"You needed to let it out," Bonnie whispered. "You just needed it let out."

Inside of Whitmore House there was a dead body of a man in a lab coat who had been slashed and his head was at an odd angle while another man was drinking out of blood bags, enjoying it, as the blood wasn't contaminated with vervain.

Three figures were there-the youngest was a blonde seventeen year old girl who was helping the man feeding off of blood bags, the next youngest was around late teens and early twenties who was setting things on fire and the eldest was around late twenties and early forties just reading a book written by a 'Doctor Grayson Gilbert'.

"So what's so interesting about that book?" The young man asked him and he looked at him.

"Apparently this Doctor Gilbert was a connoisseur of pain and torture Kol," Kol Mikaelson seemed surprised. "Though according to the papers he and his wife died while his two children were in a recent car crash and survived." For some reason Kol wondered if the children had an inkling to what their father did behind the scenes.

"Finn?" Finn Mikaelson looked at Kol. "What should we do with the children?"

"Nothing," he replied. "We do nothing as they are innocent." He nodded. "Rebekah?" The female looked at him. "How is he?"

Rebekah Mikaelson smiled.

"He's feeding well," she chirped. "Now what do we do?" Finn smiled.

"We take him home."

Elijah and Kai found Elena, breathing heavily, with Bonnie. The young witchpire looked a little upset about what happened but looked like she had fallen asleep. Bonnie looked up at them, placing a finger to her lips.

"She just fell asleep," she whispered. "Today was stressful and chaotic for her…though I hope that Jeremy is okay."

"Could you tell me where she lives?" Elijah asked. "I would like to take her home." Bonnie smiled.

"I'll take you there myself," she mouthed. "Can you help me put her in the car?"

Jeremy was having a fun time with Klaus when he sneezed, causing the leaves to blow into the air and land on some of the food.

He blushed while Klaus smiled, thinking it was hilarious.

"So what else can you do?" He asked the little witchpire that was walking with him.

"I don't know," Jeremy admitted. "My grandmother had locked our magic away when we were babies." Klaus felt horrible for him-that had to be hard for him to know.

"That had to be hard to hear," he whispered. "That had to be really hard." He could remember his mother sealing away his wolf side due to her husband all but forcing her to do it since he saw her tear up. "My mother was forced to hide a portion of me."

Jeremy winced.

"I'm so sorry," he apologized. "My parents died and I was in a car crash which nearly killed me." Klaus felt a bit angry at the thought of this little witchpire dying.

He would have said something if his phone didn't beep, signaling that he had a text. Looking it over he looked at Jeremy.

"Your sister had an emotional and chaotic explosion with a Caroline Forbes," he could see Jeremy glower at the ground. "It also appeared that she had your sister compelled a fair few times." He could now see the anger painted on his face.

"I have someone to chew out," he snarled. "No one can hurt my sister emotionally and mentally as well as have her compelled!"

"You're protective of her," Klaus noted. "Why?" Jeremy looked at him with a sad smile.

"She protects me and tries to be strong," he told him. "Do you know how hard it is to see your sister cry?" Klaus winced; as he knew first hand that any sister crying would break any sibling. The numerous times he had nearly killed a suitor of Rebekah's only because of her tears and them using her. "I can't stand it."

"I know that feeling well," he closed his eyes. "My little sister Rebekah loves too easily and her heart breaks rapidly."

Caroline was standing all alone, sulking in the words that Elena let out when two sets of hands touched her wrist and hip. Blinking, she turned to see Stefan touching her hip while Damon was touching her wrist.

"What happened?" Damon asked.

"Elena and Bonnie turned on me," she whispered. "They're no longer friends of mine."

"Of course they're not," the three turned to see Jeremy Gilbert there. "Why would they be friends with a selfish entitled princess like you?" He got up in her face. "You had my sister compelled and you belittled her." His eyes were fiery and some of Caroline's hair was getting singed by Jeremy's flames.

"Jeremy calm down," Damon ordered only for his ring to suddenly melt and deactivate but they wouldn't know that until the next day. "Stefan! He has your blood! Control him!" Stefan would have only to have a burning headache.

"I think I know what is going on," Klaus mused as he touched Jeremy's elbow. "Let me take a quick sniff…" sniffing him, he couldn't help but grin. "Your blood didn't help the transition it appears…young Jeremy must have been blessed as he smells slightly like that of an Original."

If this was his mother's work…then he was going to give the woman applause.

Klaus had to lead Jeremy away from the three and as he had him in his car-he had mentioned he came with his sister and she was home resting-he smiled and at a stoplight asked, "are you ticklish?"

"Take me out and I'll tell you," Jeremy told him boldly. "But if you're so curious I am…I'm just not telling you where."

Klaus smirked and began to tickle the boy's sides, causing him to spasm and laugh. This was a very good night for him as he found a new friend and he knew that his brother who had no love life found someone.

This little town had the things they wanted-a doppelganger, a place to use for the ritual and some new relationships forming.
