Pale Fire Ch. 11
Walking through halls of the Red Keep, Ned knew it was time to remove Joffrey from the line of succession. After reading the history and lineages of the Houses of Westeros, it was clear that none of his children were his, and if he was correct, they were Jaime's.
Knowing Tywin Lannister, he had no clue about his children's proclivities, and what they were doing. If he found the truth, he would kill his daughter, eliminating the threat for dishonor to his family name, even though he had his youngest son, it was clear to anyone that the old man disliked his dwarf son.
Finding his way to his room, he needed to find a way to let Robert know without outwardly offending his friend, and to hopefully spare the children, it wasn't their fault their mother was a lying cunt.
Pouring himself a glass of wine, he knew that speaking of this to wrong person would probably lead to war, after the shit the Mad King and Robert's Rebellion put the land through, it was truly the last thing he wanted Westeros to be put through.
Sitting down, he pulled the book out of his satchel, re-reading everything wanting to make sure that he was interpreting the information correctly, it would do no good for him, his family, or Westeros if he falsely accused the Queen of incest. But as he read the words for probably the hundredth time, he knew that the former Hand Jon Arryn was correct in his assumptions, none of the children that Cersei gave birth to were of the Baratheon bloodline.
"Fuck." He mumbled to himself. His conscience wouldn't allow him to ignore this, but Robert didn't ask him to be his hand so that he could tell him what he wanted to hear, he asked him to be his hand so that he would tell the truth about what was going on in the city and of Westeros.
Realizing that he would need a safety net, he penned his letters to the High Sparrow, and to Stannis Baratheon, perhaps if he had them on his side when it came to discussing this with Robert, his old friend would listen before he set out to attack him. One could only hope.
As he finished his letter, he carefully sealed it in a box, and had the servant standing outside his door to deliver it for him. Watching the young man walk down the hall, he prayed to the Gods that it would make it to its destination.
"FATHER!"
Turning to the sound of his youngest and eldest daughter coming off the balcony, he could see that they were fighting.
"What is the matter?" he asked them.
Arya looked over her father, she could see on his face that he had more important matters to attend to than deal with her sister whing about Joffrey and why he hasn't secured her hand for their marriage. She hated the future King, he had the Hound kill her friend because he was a cruel shit, threatened her life, cried because her wolf protected her, and what made all of that worse was her sister, lied to protect him.
Sitting down at the table, she just sat and waited, since coming to Kings Landing, she learned one thing, while they may be related by blood, they were nothing alike.
Sansa looked at her father, while she was still upset with him for not doing a better job of protecting her wolf, she still wanted to marry Joffrey. "When will I become his intended? Why hasn't there been an announcement?" She asked, her voice cracking. All she wanted was to marry her beloved.
Rubbing his face, he knew that he couldn't let any of his children around or near the Lannister's their tainted blood would possibly infect their future children. "That is not going to happen, you will find another."
Stomping her foot, Sansa cried out, "WHY! HE SAID I WAS TO BE HIS QUEEN!" How could her father do this to her? She wanted to be his Queen, and he loved her, he said so.
"ENOUGH Sansa!" He barked out. "You will learn your place," his eyes burning into hers, out of all his children she seemed the most spoiled, and he wasn't sure why that was. Before he could tell her anything more, a knock at the door broke his concentration.
Swinging it open, he found one of Robert's servants, "The King has been injured on a hunt, he's requesting your presence."
Nodding, he turned to his girls, "Stay here." With that, he moved quickly to see his old friend.
After a turbulent several weeks, Sansa watched from the podium as her father's head was cut from his body. Screaming out, her father was a great many things, but he couldn't be a traitor, he just couldn't.
Arya watched from the crowds as her father was murdered by the new King. In that moment she swore, no matter what it took, she would kill anyone that dared dishonor her family. Her eyes burned with rage as she saw Joffrey smile with glee as he held up his head, one way or another, her sword would pierce that fucks heart.
Rose couldn't keep the smile off her face as she watched her husband hold their son, for such a giant, violent man, it was always a surprise to see how gentle he was with her and Rhogoro. Leaning against the furs, she couldn't help but wonder about what the next steps was now that they were back in Vaes Dothrak.
"Sun and Stars, why are the other Khalasars coming to the Horse City?" Wondering if she was missing something.
Placing his son in sit carrier that his moon built for him, smiling as the chunky baby yawned and closed his eyes. Moving quickly to his wife, Drogo laid himself down next to her, "Moon of my life, it has been several months since the attempt on your life, word has spread between the khalasars about your mounting the Great Stallion and being unburnt."
Looking over at his son, "They want to see you and the Stallion that Mounts the World." He said to her. Wrapping his arms around his wife, feeling her tense, "The Dosh Khaleen have been singing about you since the moment you rode off in the night, every Khal wants to see the Mother of Horses."
Leaning into his arms, Rose couldn't help but chuckle at how the stories have spread or possibly changed as word of mouth kept changing them to make it more grandiose than the day before. Kissing his chest, "So, what is expected of me?" Looking into his eyes, "I don't want to embarrass myself or you."
Rubbing her cheek with his thumb, "My moon, you don't have to worry about anything. If anyone dares to even look at you wrong, I will snap their fucking necks." His eyes never leaving hers, not matter what he would defend the love of his life until it was his time to head into the Night Lands.
Tilting her cheek into his thumb, Rose sat up on her knees placing a small kiss on his lips, "I love when you threaten someone's life for me."
Wrapping his hand in her hair, he pushed her onto her back, "No one's life means more to me then you and our son." Untying his pants, smirking as his cock sprung up against his stomach. Keeping his eyes locked on hers, gripping the top of her dress, Drogo ripped it down the center, chuckling as she gasped. "I'll get you another."
Feeling the cool air, gasping as her nipples came to a point, her eyes looking up at her husbands, "I need you, my Khal." Wanting to feel him inside her body. Lifting her legs over his hips, Rose enjoyed how the leather of his pants pushed against her ass.
Lining up to his cock, Drogo pushed himself into her pussy, groaning as he watched his cock disappear into her body. Leaning down, he wrapped his body around hers, "Feel me my moon." Moving at a strong but slower pace, wanting to enjoy having her come undone under him.
Keeping her arms wrapped around his shoulders, letting her fingers dig into his skin as he pounded into her body. Lifting her hips to meet his, wanting to make sure that her husband came, he gave so much to her, his son, and to his people.
Rolling her hips, enjoying how her growled into her ear. "Fill me my Khal." Keeping her body in time with his.
Drogo gripped her hips hard, thrusting himself deep into her body, he couldn't help but groan. Sitting back on his knees, he used his hands to push her legs apart. Slamming his cock into her body, he could feel that his balls were starting to clench. "Take my seed, my moon." S
His eyes rolled into his head as he released himself into her body, he could feel her pussy shaking around him, which caused him to fall forward.
Rose shuttered around him, her orgasm rolled through her body, "FUCK." Opening her eyes, she found him barely holding himself above her, linking her foot around the back of his leg, and with the last bit of strength she had, and rolled them onto his back.
Laying across his chest, carefully tracing her fingers across the scar on his chest, "When do you want to have another child?" She asked him. Knowing that a Khal wanted as many sons as possible.
Enjoying how she was rubbing his body, but he did think about her question, he wanted to wait until their son was closer to his first name day before going for another. "After his first name day." Grabbing her face, "Perhaps the Great Stallion will bless us with another son."
Smiling at his words, "Perhaps he will, but if it's a daughter?" Wondering if he would be upset with her, would that cause him to on a second wife.
Looking into her eyes, "Moon of my life, you already provided me my son, and if you are to give me a daughter, I want her to be strong like you." Seeing the relief in her eyes, it dawned on him that she was worried he would replace her. "Rose, you are the only woman I could ever want."
Letting out a sigh that she didn't know she was holding, "Now I just feel silly." Enjoying the weight of her self-doubt lifting off her shoulders.
"Never feel that way my moon. It is known that Khal's want sons, but without our daughters, how would our Dothraki blood continue?" Keeping his arms wrapped around her, "It's time to rest my moon, for our son will wake looking for milk."
Yawning, Rose couldn't help but agree, even at 5 months, he was still feeding every 4 hours. "He's just trying to get as big as you." Chuckling at the thought, just by the look of him, he was going to be tall like his father, which she was grateful for.
Rolling them onto their sides, "He will be. Perhaps bigger." Closing his eyes, he couldn't wait until he was walking about, the sooner he was able to start his training to be a Khal and warrior, the better his chances were to claim him as the Stallion that Mounts the World.
Snuggling into his chest, Rose knew that between her training, his father, and with what R'hllor said about her gifts passing down to her children, he would be able to have a deeper understanding with the animals that he would be near for the rest of his life.
Drogo looked around at the Khals that have assembled in Dosh Khaleen temple, it was a sight that he would remember until he entered the Night Lands. In his life, and his father's a Khalar vezhven has been seen in over a hundred years.
His eyes found Khal Moro watching him, giving him a nod, he knew that he had his support and claims, Khal Jommo was there when the Dosh Khaleen proclaimed his son as the Stallion that mounts the world, but it was Khal Ogo that would present a problem, he would refuse his wife's claim at Mother of Horses mostly out of spite, he hated Drogo for what he was never sure, but just assumed it was because he was a weaker man.
Looking over at his wife, who was sitting with her ladies, and surrounded by the other Khaleesi's of the Dothraki, it wasn't hard to see that she was the most beautiful, and how she held herself she was truly the Queen of the Khalasars.
Khal Moro could see the pride rolling off a Drogo, he couldn't blame him, his wife gave him a beautiful healthy boy, who was not only thriving, but growing like his father, her body bounced back from her pregnancy. As his eyes swept over her a second time, he knew if this was what she looked like when Drogo met her, it was not wonder the man claimed her as his.
Standing up, he looked around the room, "The Dosh Khaleen have been singing for months about his arrival, the Stallion that Mounts the World has finally come." Turning his attention to Drogo, "Rhogoro, your first son, he is who the Dosh Khaleen speak of."
Standing tall, Drogo looked around the room, his eyes locking on every Khal, "My Khaleesi is the Mother of Horses, the bringer of the Stallion that Mounts the World. It is time to unify the Khalasars." His voice holding strong.
Khal Zekko and Khal Motho stared at the man, but it was Khal Motho that stood and spoke, "Are we to believe these old ladies?" He asked the room. "Perhaps you have gifted them many slaves, and they are just saying what you want them to." Turning around his eyes locked on the Khaleesi in question, "Where is the proof?!"
Khal Ogo tilted his head back laughing, "Here I thought I would have to be dead to agree with you!" His eyes locking on Drogo, "What proof do you have of your woman being more than a good breeder?!" Drinking his mare's milk, he turned back to the woman, "She isn't a real Dothraki, how could she bring the Stallion?" He questioned.
Rose bit her cheek, she knew that it was a cultural thing to look down at the woman in their lives, and being in the Holy City, she knew drawing his blood would bring great disgrace to herself, her khal, and her Khalasar.
Dali rubbed her round belly, she leaned over, "He is a coward." She whispered to her sister.
Irri rubbed her bump, "Rumor is that his wife killed herself to be rid of him." Her eyes glaring at the man that dared speak to her Khaleesi with such disrespect.
Dani shook her head, not knowing the rumors of the man, but she knew that Rose was better than him in every possible way that truly mattered. Reaching over she patted her ladies hand. "Be strong, men like him can't stand a powerful woman." Remember the few lessons she learned from her father.
Qotho, Losho, and Haggo looked over at their wives comforting a very angry looking Khaleesi. Chuckling, knowing from their experiences with the woman, that there weren't many men that she wouldn't be able to take in a fight.
Drogo wanted to grab the man by his throat and squeeze the life out of him, but that would have to wait, if he did it because he may have insulted his wife, he would appear weak.
Khal Moro whistled to get their attention, "You can say what you will about the Dosh Khaleen, but I saw it with my own eyes as she rode the Great Stallion." Looking over at Drogo, "I never liked you, and if the Great Stallion would have permitted it, I would have loved to face you on the battlefield, finding out who would be the man standing at the end." Turning his attention to Motho and Ogo, "But that was not my destiny, my Khalasar swore their loyalty to the Great Khal, as should you!"
Motho looked over at his bloodriders, seeing their agreement, it was well known that Khal Moro was always in competition with Drogo, and if he was bending a knee, perhaps there was validity to the claims. But for him to bend the knee, and swear his loyalty to Drogo and his Khaleesi, he needed proof.
Turning his attention to the young woman who was holding her son, "Can you prove your claim?" he asked her.
Gently handing Rhogoro to Dani, Rose slowly stood and walked to him, "I'm afraid I have no control of the Great Stallion or the sky herd, they come to me in times of need."
He couldn't help but chuckle at her size, barely up to his chest, he was a big man, and Drogo was bigger, it was amazing enough that she was able to be mounted by the man. "Rumors of your skin being unburnt have crossed the Dothraki sea, is there any truth to that?"
Nodding, Rose walked over to the fire that was burning in the center of the room, her eyes never leaving his, she thrusted her arm into the fire. The gasps that filled the room were almost comical, but she needed to keep a straight face, after a moment she pulled her arm out, holding it out for him to inspect.
"A gift from the Great Stallion." She said, while she sure it was from the wine that R'hllor gave her that night they met, this was an easier explanation.
Motho gently grabbed her arm, feeling the head come off it, but as he turned it around checked every inch, he couldn't help but gasp at he sight before him. "I Khal Motho, swear unto you, Khal Drogo and his Khaleesi; Mother of Horses, loyalty."
Giving her a slight bow, he made his way to his seat, his eyes turning to Khal Zeeko, "And you?" He asked the man.
Taking a moment to look at the woman, "Tell me, woman, what made you special that the Great Stallion would bless you with such a gift?"
Rose looked over at her husband, not exactly she should answer the question, but before they entered the building, he explained that she would be questioned by the Khals, and it was how she answered and dealt with them that would solidify their claims.
Drogo wanted to go to her, but if the Khals were speaking to her, she was to stand on her own, only her words would protect her. Sitting down, he nodded to her, supporting her as best he could.
Smiling at her husband, she knew he hated this, but this was how it was, she wasn't born a Dothraki, so the idea of the Mother of Horses being anyone but was almost too much for them.
Placing her hands on her stomach, "I wish I could answer that. I don't know what in my life made me worthy of such gifts, and why it wasn't bestowed on a woman born into the Dothraki hordes." Her eyes looking at the other Khaleesi's, "Each one of you would have been worthy of such gifts, and perhaps when we all enter the Night Lands, the Great Stallion will explain his choices."
Turning back to the Khal that was now in front of her, giving him a small smile, "I can only treat these gifts with the honor and distinction a Dothraki born would. Seeking advice from not only My Khal, but the Dosh Khaleen, I never would want to dishonor the Great Stallion or my Khalasar in any way."
The Khal's looked around, pleased with her answer. Placing his hand on her shoulder, "I Khal Zeeko, swear unto Khal Drogo and his Khaleesi; Mother of Horses, my loyalty." Moving to sit, feeling as though he did the right thing.
Khal Ogo scoffed, "You are all being seduced by a witch!" Hatred burned in his eyes, "This is blood magic, and you are all falling for it!" Turning his attention to the woman, "I will never accept you as the Mother of Horses, or the woman that brought the Stallion into this world." Letting his eyes fall on the Khals that bent their knee's, "Weak, all of you!"
R'hllor watched the scene below, he knew that this Khal would be the hold out, and he was the one that would eventually betray the Khalasar and align with King Joffrey when he made the trip across the Narrow Sea.
Rubbing his red beard, trying to figure out a way to eliminate this threat before it grew into something far worse. Not being able to truly interfere with the will of man, but Rose was still his loophole. Grinning as an idea hit his brain. He moved quickly to get it into motion.
Ciar shot up from her sleep, her brain screaming at her. Moving quickly to her fire, she tossed in the herbs, hoping to calm the screaming in her head.
Closing her eyes, chanting the words to help reveal the answers. Slowly opening her eyes, she couldn't help but chuckle, "Oh Great God of Fire and Light, you are meddling again."Taking the time to read what was in front of her, it was clear, she was to spread the word, the Khalasars were unifying and that the Great Khal and Khaleesi would be at the head of the horde.
As the smoke billowed around her, she could see that in the coming months that Joffrey's brutish behavior would reach a boiling point, and to satisfy the masses, he planned on invading from Dorne to the Disputed Lands and take the city of Myr first.
Growling at the signs, it was the quickest way from Westeros to Essos, and unlike the other major ports, Myr wasn't known for their military. Rubbing her face, she turned and called for her servant to help her dress and make their way to Prince Magistrate's house, it was time that the people of Essos rode with the Dothraki to war, which would start fulfilling the prophecy of the Stallion that Mounts the World unifying the world into one herd.
Blowing out her candles, she let her eyes fall to sun that was starting to peak of the horizon, "I hear you God of Fire and Light, I hear you."
Drogo watched as Ogo paced around like a caged animal, "You deny what is in front of you?" he bellowed out.
Whipping his body around his eyes locking on the man, how could he, a man barely into her 30's have the largest Khalasar, be feared by his name alone through the cities, respect of the Khals even those who dislike him, a beautiful wife that was able to keep the heart down, gift over horses and fire, and have the Stallion that Mounts the world.
"I deny everything, she is nothing but a white whore that gave you son. Blood magic is at work here, not thing more." His eyes turning to the Dosh Khaleen, "You should all be ashamed of yourselves." His eyes burning with rage, "You are just discarded woman of dead Khals, how could you living in this city know anything other than knitting, you are no better than the City Dwelling whores of this land!"
Rose shook with rage, while she could handle his disrespect towards her, but she would not tolerate it towards the wise woman. Ciar explained to her in the months of her learning about these lands, that when a Khaleesi entered Vaes Dothrak, she was blessed with the gift of reading the signs of her people, so it wasn't some bullshit.
"ENOUGH!" she yelled out. Her eyes locking on his, "You can say what you will about me, but you will not disrespect the Dosh Khaleen in their city."
Ogo walked over to her, "You dare speak to me that way, you whore?!"
Keeping herself still, she watched as he approached her, just by his body language, she knew that he was going to strike her, while she couldn't make him bleed, she could block him and toss him to the floor.
She watched his shoulders as he lifted his hand to backhand her, leaning back as he swung wide, Rose grabbed his wrist and used the momentum to flip him over her hip. Hearing the thud of his body, she took several steps back and towards her Khal.
Drogo couldn't help but smirk, placing his hands on her shoulders, he gently pulled her behind him. His eyes burning at the man now staring up at her, "You dare put your hands on my Khaleesi?!" He yelled out.
Stepping forward, "If we weren't in Vaes Dothrak, I would pull your intestines out and strangle you with them." His body shaking with rage.
Looking around at the other Khals, Drogo could see their fury at the man, not only was he about to hit another man's wife, but he also violated the rules of the holy city, he she wasn't able to defend herself, he would have drawn blood. "Know this you coward, the moment you and your khalasar step outside the city, I will kill you." He growled out.
Jumping to his feet, Ogo stared at the woman behind Drogo, "Perhaps I'll kill you, then fuck her." He said, trying to provoke Drogo into hitting him. If he was going to be disgraced, he would do what he could to bring down Drogo with him.
Reaching out Drogo wrapped his hand around the man's throat, he enjoyed watching the fear in his eyes. "My Khaleesi would break you." He taunted him.
Keeping his hand on his throat, Drogo practically carried the man out of the building, the other Khal's following behind him. Being mindful not to draw blood from his enemy Drogo tossed him off the platform and onto the building, which caused all the Khalasars to look up from their meals and focus on the scene before them.
Jumping down, Drogo watched as the man scrambled back, "YOU DARE RAISE YOUR HAND TO MY KHALEESI? TO CALL HER A WHORE!" His voice carrying through the night.
Gasps filled the night, but it was Ogo's son that stared down at his father, "He is lying, tell me father, Drogo is lying!" Starting to feel the shame of his father's actions.
Oro quickly stood, "I will never accept his whore of a wife as the Mother of Horses, or the bringer of the Stallion, and you will never either. You are my son, Fogo." Looking around he could see the people openly glaring at him, "You all blindly accept that white whore as your savior?!" Unable to believe how stupid they were.
Rose stared down at the man, she could honestly careless about his words, it was his disrespect of the Dosh Khaleen, the Holy City, and the customs of where they were. He accused her of being an outsider, but it was him a Khal that was showing he knew nothing of his culture.
She wanted to join her husband, but she knew it was his place to defend her, well as much as he could in the city. Letting out a sigh, Rose wondered what was to be done, he couldn't survive, but he couldn't be killed inside the city with bloodshed.
As she started to wonder, a loud screaming in her head caused her gasp, "FUCK!"
Drogo turned at the sound of his wife's distress, "Moon of my life, are you alright?" He asked her.
Before Rose could answer the screaming of horses were heard throughout the night, looking up, she could see the outlines of Chiron and Helios. "The Great Stallion my love, he is calling out to me!"
The Khalasars cried out at the sight before them, The Great Stallion and his mate landing in the circle, their wings outstretched. Everyone that could see them dropped to their knees, including the Khals on the platform.
Jumping down, Rose kept her head low, "I have missed you both. What brings you to Vaes Dothrak?" she asked the pair.
The woman that spoke common tongue translated to their khals.
Chiron looked down at her, You look well, Rose. R'hllor sent us, this Khal will betray the Dothraki and side with the enemies of Essos!
Hissing at his words, her eyes turning to the man that was know on his knees, "The Great Stallion has come to give warning, you would ride with the enemies of Essos?!" Her voice low and dangerous.
Ogo looked up at her, how would she know that "You're making up lies!"
Helios reared up and stomped her foot, Kill him my mate! He will harm Rose. Taking several steps towards him, Rose speak for me. She asked.
Nodding, Rose turned her attention to the man who was trembling in fear.
You are not worthy of being a Khal, you are not worthy of your khalasar. You are not worthy of much, for gold and silver you would betray your people to the men in the iron clothes. May your death be painful. Stepping back, pleased with the way Rose translated for her.
Looking at her Khal, "My Khal, the Great Stallion came here to warn us about this coward's betrayal. He knows that a Dothraki can not spill blood in the Holy City, but he is not limited to such rules." Her voice carrying over the night.
Drogo looked at his wife, then the Khal who were still kneeling at the sight of the Great Stallion. Turning his eyes to the black stallion, "I am honored that you brought warning," lowering his head, "Deal with this coward anyway you deem fit."
Chiron nodded his big head, turning to his mate, then Rose. No words were needed, taking slow and deliberate steps to the man now begging for his life. This was the kind of human that he hated, loyal to no one, living without honor. You will never ride into the Night Lands.
Rose repeated what Chiron said, the gasps of the khalasar echoed through the horde.
Lifting his giant hoof, he brought it down hard and fast against the man's skull, ending his life quickly. Stepping back, pleased that there wasn't much blood oozing from his wound, while it wouldn't have offended the Dothraki because they worshipped him, he didn't want to completely disregard their beliefs.
Helios felt relief, one threat to Rose's safety has been eliminated, soon they would join the Dothraki in a battle that would change the fate of Essos, and anything that could be done to protect her was something that she would always do.
Rubbing her nose against her body, You are no longer with child, can I please see the baby? She asked her.
"Of course." Turning her eyes towards Irri, "Bring me my son." Smiling as the woman rushed off and came back with the baby.
Irri carefully handed the baby to his mother, her eyes wide with being so close to the Mare. Bowing her head, "You are beautiful." She said to the horse.
Helios gently touched her stomach, Thank you.
Rose smiled as Irri stood still as Helios rubbed her face on her stomach, "She said thank you."
Bowing slightly, Irri made her way towards her husband, wrapping her arms around him. Feeling blessed that the Mare actually touched her.
Turning her son in her arms, "Chiron, Helios, this is my son Rhogoro," kissing his chubby cheeks, "My love, this is Great Stallion Chiron and his beautiful mate Helios."
Drogo watched as his son reached for the Great Stallion, wrapping his fingers in his mane, it brought a smile to his face that he was blessed to have his mother's gift over the horses, it would serve him well as he grew.
Knowing that there was still contention within the Khalasars about who the boy was, Chiron looked at his mate, sharing a look, they both took a step back, and carefully kneeled in front of Rose and her son, knowing that by doing so, it would help Drogo unify the horde.
Each Khal bowed lower at the family that was standing in front of the Great Stallion, it was clear, Khal Drogo was blessed directly from the Great Stallion, his Khaleesi was the Mother of Horses, and their son is the Stallion that they've waited for.
