a/n: Finally uploaded something... This ties in with the very beginning of Demise, although it's not essential to read both.
Disturbed
"You don't deserve to live."
Nightfall was at its peak, the luminous moon translucent behind the teetering clouds. Several petite stars lined the endless border of the sky, casting their radiance downwards.
It was not a sight to be missed.
However, none of that matters. It's barely visible through the painted windows. Anyone who tries to get a clear view would have their vision obscured, due to the generous amounts of red spilt erratically along the glass.
"No… don't come any closer!"
Staggering ungracefully, she came into contact with a solid wall, smeared with the same paint that stained the windows. A sharp intake of air was audible as she broke into tears, no longer able to hide her fear any longer as she unwillingly trapped herself.
"You… You're just like her…"
Approaching her at a languid pace, the soft rhythm of footsteps could be heard, one after the other. Silence followed, while quiet whimpers resonated off the intimidating walls as she sank to the desolate floor.
There was no escape for her.
Drawing nearer by the second, I watched her squirm with apprehension, protesting against my imminence. Leaning down, my coloured hand reached towards her, caressing her cheek, leaving trails of crimson rivers down her delicate skin. She flinched at the touch of my cold fingers, shifting slightly.
"Please… I haven't done anything to her!"
Removing my hand from her face, I noticed the inimitable streams decorating her face. Her glistening tears did not wash away the cerise; instead, they mingled into a single colour, similar to fluid blood.
Similar? No. Identical. Just like how she appears to be identical to the other one.
"You misunderstand."
Lingering beside my pocket, a sharp, tainted object, marks still fresh from tonight's events, was revealed. Much to her displeasure, I pressed it close to her neck, though not with enough pressure to cause any harm.
"Leave me alone!"
She thrashed frantically, her shrill voice penetrating the silence of the night. Her pupils were dilated, the dread increasingly evident. It seemed as if the shifting shadows on her pale skin where attempting to conceal her from my sight, although the blood dripping down her neck exposed the shallow cut she just received.
"Why… why should I listen to you?"
Tracing the wound with my glinting knife, she shivered from the sting of marred skin. Unpleasant feelings followed as I slashed steadily at her body without fail, blade cutting deeper each time, to the point where her clothes were nothing but a tattered mess.
"I… I only wanted to…"
With a final thrust, scarlet rivers were released from her lips, decorating the barren floor with its mesmerizing patterns. Soundless shrieks of agony escaped her before she collapsed heavily against the smudged wall, liquids spilling freely.
There was nothing more for her to say.
a/n: There's a static feel to this... it doesn't join properly, in my opinion. And it's short too. That's what you get for not writing anything for over a month. Criticism is welcome.
And in regard to some of the problems I hear people have been experiencing... if you direct your eyes up a few breaks, then you will see that I got the border/line working. Anybody who reads instructions, has worked with html coding or is clever will discover that there is a way to get it working. For those who have no brains or experience, PM me if you want help, but I'd rather you learn for yourself.
For those who have read Demise and/or Desperate, I will try and update sometime this month. And it seems I will be continuing Desperate, as I subconciously left a reminder for myself.
