No More Lies
(Set some time after 7x13)
His face was right there. So close she could feel his breath brush against her skin. She herself was certain she was no longer breathing. She was frozen, incapable of action, but even if she could react, she wouldn't let herself.
Harvey had made her promise nothing like this would ever happen again and she wasn't going to break her word. But she also knew we shouldn't stop him if he chose to step over their hazy line.
"Donna."
Her name was the softest of whispers falling from his lips.
She realised she had been staring at his mouth and dragged her eyes back to his. And it was all there. The look in his eyes. She felt a tremor run all over her body, her lips trembling beneath his intense gaze.
A hand dropped to her hip, the heat of his palm feeling like a brand against her skin despite the clothing in between.
His lips brushed against hers, just the breath of a touch, and yet it still made her heart stop with a solid thud, still made her vision go blurry and her ears begin to ring. It made every sense jolt.
"Donna," he repeated, the word raw and impossibly quiet, tracing across her mouth. "Tell me you lied."
She didn't need him to explain any further, she knew what question he was asking.
"Tell me you did too," she responded, the crack in her voice undoubtedly a precursor to the one that would soon hit her heart, when he inevitably ran from this moment.
But then the world slowed and tilted on its axis as she felt the pressure of his lips on hers increase, felt his hand tangle in her hair, while the other tightening its grip on her hip.
"I think we both did."
