Kiss Me
(Set in 9.10. Just my little head canon about Darvey and their wedding kiss.)
The music slowly faded out, but they remained in each other's arms, softly swaying to their own rhythm. Her face was pressed into the crook of his neck, his fingers drawing soft patterns on her waist. Both of them lost in a moment in time they would never forget.
But then a new song started and other people, Louis's wedding guests, started to make their way to the dance floor.
"Ready to go?" Harvey asked, the words a whisper in her ear.
Donna nodded, pressing her lips against his throat in a soft kiss. She wanted nothing more than to be alone with her husband. Her heart fluttered at the word, still barely able to comprehend the fact that they had just got spontaneously married.
Harvey. The person she had never known how to define; boss, friend, lover. No title had ever felt right before, had ever been able to explain all the complexities of their relationship. Until now. Husband it turns out was the title she had been looking for all along.
Harvey took her hand in his, leading them off the dance floor and out the front of the building to wait for Ray. The music and noise and the people all disappeared behind them, leaving them in the quiet, peacefulness of the night.
He felt the reality of what they had just done start to settle into his bones, causing a warmth to spread through him. The feeling that once again everything had changed. And once again for the better. He couldn't wipe the grin off his face.
After everything they had been through, after all the years of longing and lying, tears and heartbreak, they had finally found their way to each other. And now they were actually married. The weight of the ring on his finger felt like something that had been missing his whole life.
Harvey turned to Donna and nudged her back against the wall of the building. He tilted his face down to hers, noses brushing against each other. Capturing her lips with his, he sucked on the bottom one a little as she opened her mouth to him.
His tongue slid against hers and she angled her head to let him deepen the kiss. Donna's hands were on his shoulders and his were tangled in her hair as their lips moved together. She moaned ever so softly into his mouth, the soft hum vibrating through him.
Harvey pulled back a little, pressing another kiss to her lips, his hips still pressing into her, pinning her to the wall. Donna smiled up at him and there was joy and brightness and desire on her face and Harvey couldn't quite believe he was looking at his wife. And all he could wonder was just how he ever got this damn lucky.
"What was that for?" She asked with a smile.
Harvey traced his thumb across her soft, swollen lips.
"That's how I should have kissed my wife for the first time," he murmured, his voice dipping low and husky.
She huffed a laugh into his mouth, sliding her lips over his once more. Donna knew Harvey wasn't a fan of public displays of affection.
She had sensed his slight awkwardness when they reached that spotlight moment after Stan pronounced them husband and wife. Felt it in the restrained way he kissed her. A little stiff and closed, not at all the way he kissed her in private. Ordinarily, Harvey liked to kiss deep and open, tongue stroking, teeth grazing, lip sucking, hands in her hair.
Truth be told Donna preferred it that way. Because she got his private displays of affections, and that was so much more important. So much more meaningful. The special moments that were for her and them alone.
She kissed her way along his jaw, "Well let's hurry up and get to the hospital, because I can't wait to go home and fuck my husband for the very first time," she whispered, letting the words fall into his ear.
Harvey couldn't stop the loud groan that escaped, the combination of her promise and sound of the word husband on her lips too much to handle.
Yes, he really was the luckiest man on the planet.
