Author's notes:

This story is somewhat inspired by into the spider verse but also by Re: Creators. I hope everyone enjoys it. I am not sure if I want to continue it past this chapter or not at the moment. I have a basic story thought out and outlined in a brainstorm doc. Let me know what you all think, suggestions are welcome.

For anyone wondering about my other story, My Hero Assassination, I am putting it on hold for now.

Chapter 1 – Introduction, Starting Line to Seven Destinations

"Now it's time for the award ceremony Izuku Midoriya!"

With excitement, the 16-year-old green-haired teen answered his mentor, "Yes Sir!"

"This is something I was once told: 'Something that you receive because you are lucky and something that you are given because you are recognized are different in essence.' Take that to heart. One is an accident, the other a reward" Looking down to the young boy before him, All Might held a golden strand of hair between his fingers. "This is the power you earned because of your own effort. Good work Young Midoriya"

Looking upon the man who had trained him for the past three months, Izuku was still in awe. All Might, the world's top hero, the most popular in the world, who's mere existence was a deterrent to many would-be villains. This man through selfless actions had gained the title of Symbol of Peace.

This was the moment. My first step, my starting line.

Despite being quirkless, an individual without a power to call his own, All Might have looked at him and told him that he too could be a hero. It was something Izuku had always needed to hear. That statement changed everything, and for it to be the person he admired the most in the world to say it, meant everything to the young boy.

Honesty, a part of him never expected to hear those words from anyone. And so, standing before him now, All Might spoke once more.

"I deem you worthy to inherit this power. My quirk is yours." Shoving the strand of hair into his face, "Now Eat this."

A second passed before Izuku processed those words. "Huh?"

"Eat this hair young Midoriya." Once again, All Might presented his hair to his disciple. "It does not actually matter what as long as you take in my DNA. That is how I can transfer my power to you. It is the easiest way."

Izuku's brain halted for a moment at the revelation. This is too different from what I imagined.

Continuing, All Might insisted, "There is no time. You will be late to the U.A. entrance exam. Hurry!"

With a sigh, Izuku took the hair and hesitated. Closing his eyes, he placed it into his mouth and swallowed. Despite his mentor's words, he didn't feel anything change.

Leaning in next to him, All Might asked, "Good! How do you feel?"

"Yeah, I don't feel like anything is different. Yet…" Suddenly overcoming his senses, Izuku felt a surge of pain from his temple.

Falling to his knees, the sensation of being stabbed seared his nerves. All the wind in him was knocked out. Total exhaustion hit his muscles. Every part of his body cried out in pain. Something was being torn from his soul. An all-consuming blackness filled his vision. As his legs gave out and the green-haired boy fell onto the ground. A voice called out. But the boy was too tired to understand what they said.

"Midoriya? Young Midoriya!"

All Might? What's… happe…ning…"

Unbeknownst to either present as the boy lost consciousness, for the first time in Izuku's life his natural-born quirk activated.

"Ow!" A thud and flash of pain to her spine, the teenage girl landed on her backside. "Motherfu…" taking a breath, she calmed her nerves and caught the foul language before it left her mouth. "No cursing."

Speaking under her breath, she closed her eyes.

"That was unexpected but," raising her voice, the girl loudly yelled out, "My loving viewers, The show must go on!"

Flat on her back, she arched her spine and rolled to her shoulders. Swinger her body weight forward, the teen used the momentum to launch herself to her feet. With the brief feeling of vertigo, Izumi Midoriya felt a moment of airlessness as her body lifted from the earth. Sticking the landing, the entertainer smiled broadly to her imagined viewers.

"With that error out of the way, let's continue on with my grand plan!"

Eyes closed, Izumi gestured with her hand to the camera to her left. It was only when she opened her eyes that Izumi realized something was very wrong. This place was all too familiar and somewhere she would never return to if given a choice. What she saw was a small park quietly tucked between two houses.

The park was a place of memories for her. Throughout middle school, she had used it along her path home. Yet despite its pleasant appearance, this place held no great memory, how could it when a year and a half ago Izumi was humiliated and demeaned every single day when passing through. The park made for an easy shortcut in the neighborhood and because of its close approximation to her home it served as the perfect ambush point for those who chose to bully her.

So that brings up a great question, how'd I end up back here? She thought to herself. Teleportation? Yes, but also no. This is definitely the work of a quirk. It has to be. But the question is what exactly the ability does.

The time of day was off. The sun had been beginning to set as required of her heist's plan, but now she found the sky to be at high noon. One moment she had been above the bank in the heart of Kyoto and now she was back in her home city.

So definitely not teleportation. Substance transfer? No, that doesn't account for the time of day. Her mind attempted to process the information available. Portal creation? No, the same problem as the first. This is why I hate quirks, they're too unpredictable and…

"Wait a minute," A new more pressing thought crossed her mind. Looking around the park, items that were very important to her business were missing. "Where are my cameras?"

Son of a… do you know how much one of those costs! Bringing her hand to a button on the edge of the earphone of her headset, the girl tapped it to get an understanding of the situation. A screen lit, illuminating her left eye. Three dead feeds were the first noticeable offense. Scanning the bottom right of the display the teen saw that her connection was cut. Her channel's stream was offline.

"Well ain't that great." With a sigh, the girl moved her palm over the headset once more.

Everything she needed to know about her stream was displayed on the h.u.d.. Cameras 1, 2, and 3 are unfindable. The virtual map displayed nothing, as if they no longer existed. The connection's dead, but at least it's still running. W.t.f. is this, even if I was teleported, I should still be connected since I'm still in a city.

Her mind began running damage control.

"Don't worry Midori, your loving fans will forgive you for a shitty connection. Just figure out what happened, then I can address our problem" She mumbled to herself. "First let's see if anything else is different."

Examining her outfit, the tumble onto the ground had ruffled the fabric but it remained the same. Taking a moment to pat her clothes, the live-streamer had to calm her nerves. Izumi's outfit consisted of a skirt, dress shirt, vest, and black shoulder cap followed lastly by her high tech headset and monocle under her small top hat.

Originally, she had planned for the uniform of her channel to look differently, but over her career, the outfit had just evolved the way it did. The monocle for example fit her stream's theme and acted as a lens for her Heads Up Display. The top hat was both a fashion statement and to conceal the complex and delicate headset that was the core of her tech. Each piece had been added for a reason and it reassured her that nothing seemed to be lost.

"Good." Reaching into the hidden pocket of her costume, Izumi pulled out her smartphone. "Now let's see about this."

As she suspected it was connected to a network at least. Glancing at the screen, she swiped a quick code to unlock the device. As she did so something caught her attention. The date and time on the device updated.

"…"

Before she could form a thought on the matter, someone from behind so rudely shoved her.

"Watch it! Stop standing in the middle of the path and get out of the way!" With force, Izumi was pushed aside as her assailant brushed past her. The same male voice spoke again as he passed by, "Watch where you're standing next time."

Turning on her heel, the girl yelled back, "You're the one who bumped into me!" But her words died in her throat.

In front of her was a blonde-haired youth. Red eyes gleamed at her. The best description for him was a punk. Painful memories played in her head as she locked eyes with him. She could not suppress the fear at running into him here. But after a moment of giving her a dirty look, the blonde turned and continued through the park.

He didn't even recognize me? Looking down at her phone, it took a moment before she realized what that meant.

So that confirms it, there are only a few possibilities now on what quirk caused this. Could a quirk… no of course a quirk could do something as crazy as this. Afterall if love could be a quirk, wouldn't that mean anything could?

With that thought in mind, there was only one thing she could say, "This is going to be fun either way. You better prepare world! This is Phantom Thief Izumi Midoriya's new debut!"

A fall and sharp pain, they were the first two sensations he registered after the feeling of vertigo passed. On the hard ground, the Tokyo Detective could feel a small puddle of warm liquid trickle down his back. The fresh injury reopened, but he could not feel it. All he could feel was a dull throbbing pain in his forehead.

Great, he thought of the unforgettable feeling of a wound tarrying open. The doc told me to rest and this is what I get for not taking some R&R.

Knowing he had fallen from the sudden transportation, and seeing he was located in the middle of a side alley in some city, his best guess was he collided with the metal dumpster to his side.

"Where even am I?" His gruff voice spoke to himself. Scanning the surroundings, the man's mind attempted to recognize where he ended up. Yet it was just his luck, the 26-year-old Izuku Midoriya could not quite place why this alley seemed familiar. Attempting to get to his feet, a spike of agony surged from his lower back up to his brain. "Shit." I'm not going anywhere like this."

Shifting weight, the police detective leaned against the dirty blood-soaked dumpster. Reaching for the inner pocket of his suit's jacket, Izuku slowly retrieved the cell phone from above his left breast. Raising the device to the dim light of the alley, all he could say was, "great." In the young man's hand was a cracked screen that refused to light up.

"This is just my luck. Looks like it's time to call out for help."

Izuku registered the bleeding and knew it wouldn't end well if he didn't get help soon. The wound's origin was from an interrogation by the League of Villains. He was thankful the collision with the ground had been loud. Hopefully, someone would be drawn to him if he started calling out.

Where am I? His thoughts swirled to that key question again. Blood loss did not help his mind when it tried to come with an answer. The last thing Detective Midoriya recalled was his office. The Tokyo Detective was waiting for the old man to bring him a document updating their current case on his own kidnapping. But before he could react, something had pulled him, his vision swirled and he ended up mid-air.

This is near… wait a second.

Looking across from his position, he saw a familiar sight towards the southern exit to the alleyway. Despite the absurdity of traveling 72 miles instantly, quirks could do a lot of ludicrous things and the man recognized this location. His recognition only brought more confusion to his pain-ridden mind. This place was near his childhood home in Musutafu. It was an alley he used to cut through all the time back in the day.

It was just over there that Katsuki… But what has damaged it so much? It looks like it did back when he was attacked.

Interrupting his thought, a woman's voice called out, "Sir? Hey, are you alright over there!"

Oh good. Shifting his head, he looked towards the opposite end of the alley. His eyes landed on the source of the voice, a blonde-haired woman in a costume. At a glance it was clear what she was, a Pro Hero licensed by the government to help keep the peace. Her costume consisted of a purple and tan-colored bodysuit, which had an accent of orange stripes. The mask on her face was purple as well and had horn-like protrusions on its side.

"You're bleeding? Hold still. I'll contact an ambulance. Can you tell me what happened? What is your name?" The Hero asked as she bent down to examine him. "This looks bad, were you attacked?"

The costume was retro for her, but he wouldn't mistake its uniqueness for anyone else.

"You okay?" Reaching towards him, the Pro Hero examined his face as she kneeled beside him. "Can you respond?"

"Yu?" Getting a clearer look at the woman, the Detective spoke. There was no mistake, she was Yu Takeyama, the 17th Ranked Pro Hero, Mt. Lady. "What're you doing here?" His words were slurred as he spoke. "Aren't you supposed to be out of the country?"

Recalling his memory, that was the last thing he had heard about the pair. She and her boyfriend had taken a vacation to the States after the disaster the League caused subsided. Both had needed a break, and he didn't blame them for retreating to safety for a while. Hell, he and the old man deserved one too, if the brass ever got their problems in order.

At the thought of his superiors, the pain in his lower back heated up again. Although the wound was always throbbing since the Yandere cut into him, it had been okay for the past few days. His interrogation by Dabi and Toga a week ago had lasted only a day before he was rescued, but it was something his body would not forget.

God, my back. A situation like this fits my luck. Looking at the Pro, the Detective asked, "Either way, can you help me up? I think if I stay like this, I'm going to pass out." At least I didn't land on my head.

As the woman placed a hand on his shoulder, pain flared.

"That isn't a good idea with the blood loss," She replied, "Pro's are trained in basic first aid, so let me patch you up. I'll stop the bleeding as best I can and when the ambulance gets here, you will be just fine."

Basic Hero 101 was to always reassure a victim in a time of crisis. It was one of the first things a hero student usually learned. Following that basic training, Yu Takeyama gave a soft smile as she pulled out her phone.

"Give me a moment. Hello? Yes, this is the Pro-Hero Mt. Lady. I need an ambulance over on 27th street, it's urgent. You can… yes, use my coordinates to get here. No, I'm currently distributing first aid. Seven minutes? Yes I'll stay with him until you arrive."

As Yu continued to talk, the Detective couldn't help but notice something was very different about her. She seemed so less sure of her actions. The woman he had worked beside to stop the League of Villain and the one beside him now were different. They held the same form but different auras. When he had first met her years ago, his opinion had been she was an attention seeker - One of the 'bad' ones who used their position for riches and fame. Yet over time, she had proven his initial assessment wrong.

Reaching over him she removed the jacket of his suit to examine where his blood was coming from. "Looks like your skin was punctured near your lower back. Right above your hip. It's a lot of blood but I think you should be okay, do you mind if I use your jacket to make a bandage?"

No, that's still her. Despite what the News always says, she did care. Looking to make eye contact, he could feel his vision start to sway. "Yeah, do what you got to do."

Gently, the heroine gripped the jacket of his suit. She was careful as she removed the article of clothing. Successful, Yu examined how to best use the cloth to begin bandaging.

Mt. Lady was truly a good Pro Hero. It was how she reached the rank of 17th. Some called her vain, lazy, and shameless and to give them credit it rightly so. Those observations were half true. Yu Takeyama wasn't above taking credit for the actions of others, in her private life she was a slouch, and she was too prideful on her appearance to the public; however, she was never careless. Her quirk, Gigantification, allowed her to grow to a titanic size. Because of that, where she used her ability was always kept in mind for those around her. Despite her vanity, she had shown him countless times that she was selfless in her service to the public.

"Hey, you're a detective, right?" Breaking the silence that had settled between them, the pro Hero carefully spoke. "That's a Tokyo Prefecture badge on your belt."

Feeling light-headed from the blood loss, he simply nodded to her question, "Yeah."

His reply was weak, and Yu took note of it instantly. "You lost a lot of blood, are you feeling off? Please don't pass out on me, nothing is going to happen, everything will be just fine. If you could tell me how you got here, that would help."

Tearing the sleeve off to use as a rag, Yu kneeled beside him as she waited for an answer.

"I was, just in my office. Then I ended up feeling vertigo and appeared two stories up in the air. You found me not long after."

Applying the baggage, the woman kept talking. She was probably trying to make sure he did not fall unconscious. "You know you should be lucky mister Big City Detective, isn't it every man's dream to be fussed over by a beautiful heroine?"

Of course she would say that. Unamused, the detective replied, "You know that line only works if it's the first time you use it right?"

Tightening the bandage, the woman then crossed her arms. "Really? So it must've been effective, hm?"

"What do you mean by that?" Izuku's hazy mind finally registered the unfamiliarity in her voice. Before she could elaborate to his question, a voice spoke up from the entrance to the alleyway.

"No way! Hey everyone look! It's that new hero that debuted recently!"

Beside the man who spoke was another, "Really? Oh yeah, I think I heard of her.

"That's Mount Lady!" In front of a mother a small child spoke with awe, "Hey mom, can I be a hero like her when I grow up?"

The chattering from the forming crowd grew as more and more people gathered. Like a car crash, everyone slowed down once they noticed to take a look at the Pro Hero. Words upon words, both about the Mt. Lady and about her helping an injured man were said. But one word above the others stuck in his mind.

"Debut?"

Mt. Lady waved at the crowd, as ambulance sirens were heard in the distance "Yeah, I started being a full-time Pro Hero three months ago. Seems like I'm quite popular, though you should know Detective. Well, you are from a different city so maybe not, but you even know my real name. I took you for a fan actually. Though you are a detective so it does make sense that you would know of us up and coming Heroes."

As she continued to pose for the crowd's cameras, she never once looked down back at him, if she had a face of pure surprise would have greeted her.

That was 10 years ago.

"Anyway Detective, if you ever find yourself in need of help from a Hero, keep me in mind."

Concluding what everything meant, his mouth moved on its own.

"Shit." Closing his eyes, he pinched the bridge of his nose. "I better call the old man. I don't even know how I'm going to explain this to him. This is… this is why I hate working with quirks. Of course, it'd be something like this." Whispering, he turned to the hero who had come to save him and said, "Hey Yu, wouldn't happen to have a phone I could borrow, would you? I need to make a call."
