A/N: I'm sorry, it's this part of the year again, so I can't write much. Hopefully it won't last long. I guess this is a crooked story, but hey, it's better than nothing, right?

Reversal

Sango sighed inwardly, her eyes focused on her work. She was cleaning her gear after a long battle and trying not to listen to Inuyasha and Kagome argue again. Miroku was away from the camp and Shippou was busy watching the show unfold, but Sango was simply tired of this.

It wasn't the first time the two hot-heads argued, she knew pretty well what was going to happen soon, judging by the raised voices of the two.

This time it was about Kagome putting herself in danger 'for no reason', as Inuyasha put it, and then being rescued by Kouga, who had joined the fight at that moment.. He had snatched Kagome out of the way after pushing Inuyasha when he had been reaching for the miko. The hanyou had stumbled and hadn't enough time to dodge the youkai attack, but even injured he had managed to fell the beast.

Sango wondered if it all had been a mere coincidence or a cunning plan of the wolf youkai to jump and save the miko like this. It had looked a bit fishy, especially with the looks Kouga had been giving the priestess and the hanyou since after the battle until he had left the team.

Sadly. Sango was pretty certain she wouldn't have a chance to discuss her suspicion with Kagome, at least not in a few days.

"You stupid girl, had you to let him grab you like that?" Inuyasha growled.

"He was just hugging me! He was relieved to see me unharmed!" Kagome shot back.

"So he had to grope you to express his feelings?" Sango just shook a hand. It seemed the quarrel was slowly moving to the final stages.

"His hand just slipped a bit! It's not a big deal!"

"If I groped you after a battle you would sit me to death!"

"Of course I would, you stupid idiot!"

"He was scent marking you and insulting me!"

"He saved me!"

"I killed the damn thing! And got injured! I bet you didn't notice, since you were busy feeding his ego!"

Sango dropped her knife in her lap so she could use both hands to facepalm. Kagome, as smart as she was, seemed sometimes to be painfully clueless of how males (especially youkai ones) of this time acted and what she was saying in the heat of a verbal battle with Inuyasha. The argument lasted a few more moments before finally...

"Sango, can I borrow Kirara?"

"Sure." Sango snapped her head up after a minute, when she finally realized that the voice asking her for her feline partner's help was a male one.

She saw stunned Kagome staring after Inuyasha flying in the general direction of Kaede's village on the transformed Kirara.

"Where the hell are you going?" Kagome roared after him. Sango hoped that she wouldn't utter the command word, a fall from this height could injure both Kirara and Inuyasha.

"Home, duh!" Inuyasha spat from the back of the big cat. "Now you can get close and personal with the wolf without me suffering on the sidelines!"

Sango stared after the hanyou flying away in bewilderment.

"What did you say to him exactly?" she asked the equally speechless Kagome.
