Long time ago, under the 101th Barks, Cyrus559 said; "Perhaps you could make a story where she and the parents of Kagome's school friends talks together about their views of their daughters male suitors (if Eri, Yuka and Ayumi have anyone). I wonder if the other parents would be as found of their teenagers' boyfriends as she is :"
I tried to something fun and short with this suggestion, but I guess it isn't that neat.

Moms

Mama Higurashi was sitting by a table located by a small restaurant. An umbrella was spread overhead to give some shade from the summer sun. She was holding a cool juice glass and smiling, listening to her three friends, who were coincidentally moms of Kagome's three friends.

"...And then Hiro carried Yuka through the door," Ami was gesturing with her hands, excitedly retelling her daughter's wedding. Mama gave a nod of appreciation, just like the others did before Ami launched into listing all the fancy food from the reception. Mai, Eri's mom, started helping her, since she had been at the wedding.

The festival goes were passing by behind the plastic fence that separated the restaurant's outdoors area from the sidewalk. People wore fancy kimonos and quite a few had costumes on. Kids were running around shrieking, laughing and holding various toys, balloons or food.

Soon the tale was over and they changed the subject. This time Mai was telling them about Eri''s new home and work in Osaka. According to her she was seeing a French man, but it wasn't official yet. She proudly showed her friends a photo of a handsome foreigner in a suit,, holding Eri's hand, with a lovely landscape behind them.

"Ayumi," Hana decided to brag about her daughter too. "She and Hojo are doing great. She's part time working at the Hojo family's pharmacy store and studying in med school."

"That's amazing. I think they fit together, they are both so kind and caring," Mama praised. Then she realized that she was the only one left and gulped. What should she tell them? Before she could decide what to reveal and what not. fate decided for her.

"Grandma!" called a joyful little voice and suddenly a girl around three years old top ran towards them. The girl had a red yukata and stark white hair. She had her face painted to look like a dog, the costume made more realistic with two dog ears sticking from the mop of hair on her head. Light brown eyes shone in her cute face as she clung to Mama Higurashi's leg. "Hide me?"

"Aww, who's this cute girl?" cooed Hana and reached a hand to stroke the girl's head affectionately, but the kid smoothly moved out of her range.

"This is Hina," Mama introduced. and picked up the girl to sit her in her lap. Then she stroked the giggling girl's hair and smirked at the longing in her friends' eyes. "Hina, why are you here? Where is Kagome?"

"Mama doesn't feel good so dad wanna take her home and I don't wanna go yet!" the girl explained, looking shyly at the three other older women around the table. "Hide me?"

"Not gonna happen," said a rough voice and like by magic all three of Mama's friends were suddenly looking towards the fence behind which stood a handsome man in a matching dog costume., sans the face was holding a young woman, who also had dog ears on top of her head, but those were black like her hair. She also was obviously very pregnant,.

"Hello," Kagome greeted the staring moms of her friends. "I'm sorry for interrupting, but we need to collect Hina."

"But I don't wanna go," the kid whined.

"Hop on, squirt, we go home and when Kagome feels better we come back to see the fireworks," the man said, nudging his head to his shoulder opposite from where Kagome's head was resting.

"Fireworks!" Hina looked hopefully. "Really, we stay to see them?"

"If you behave, pup."

"Is everything alright?" Mama asked her daughter while the other watched the girl deftly climb up on the fence and the on the man's back until she was safely seated on his shoulders.

"Yeah. My feet got sore and Inuyasha doesn't get that it isn't lethal," the young woman looked up at her husband, who pouted.

"Keh! Alright, it's time to carry you two to the shrine," the red-clad man declared and without another word walked away, carrying his wife as if she didn't weight anything. Mama could hear Hina excitedly telling her parents about a stall she saw earlier.

When Mama finally looked back at her friends she found out three a bit awed, curious stares directed her way.

"Uh... I never told you Kagome got married after graduating high school?" she asked sheepishly.
